I actually ate dinner here twice - because it was that good! I'm happy this Restaurant is convenient to my neighborhood. Another plus is there is plenty of parking. On Tuesday,01/03/2023, visited Northside 10, 10 East Glebe Road, Alexandria mid-afternoon, one table of 2 was on their way out & 1 guy was at the bar. The bartender was not welcoming at all; no smile, never gave his name & continued to do side work. My friend & I sat at the bar. He ordered a Vino (sangiovese & red wine) & was given a more expensive red wine (not asked for) & charged for it. He ordered the special - grilled bacon, cheese, tomato sandwich & a chili in lieu of soup ( which was an option). I ordered a Chopped Cobb Salad with chicken. The bacon was thick, very salty & limp, not crisp as ordered, There was practically no cheese so it was more of bacon tomato sandwich versus a grilled cheese sandwich! My friend received chicken soup vs the chili he ordered. My salad was good. The artichoke dip was very good; chips or crackers instead of bread which is easier to dip. The lunch experience was awful. The bartender, who was the only server, was preoccupied with his side work, stocking bar & talking on the phone. Customer service was obviously not a priority for the bartender. He never offered to refill my water glass until we were ready to leave. When we received the bill, we were not asked if everything was alright, were there any questions or if we needed anything else. In fact, we were trying to pay the bill & the bartender was outside the front of the restaurant on his telephone. Not once did this guy smile, be courteous or be professional. When asked for carryout boxes for my salad & the dip, he pushed two "green/recyclable" cardboard boxes at us. They had poor closures & food leaked out; we were not even offered a bag to carry the boxes out. This was a very poor experience & left a very poor representation of this restaurant. read more

Very quaint neighborhood restaurant! We are new to the DC area and always like to try new spots. I found this place, it was close to home and in an area, we knew. We arrived and the outside is very nice with tables in front for outdoor seating. We decided to sit inside. There is a dining area and a belly up to bar area. We ordered our meals and the food came out so fast we were shocked. The service was excellent with the waiter coming by just enough to meet our needs. The food was really good. I had the Chicken Fried steak and it was incredible. Coming from the midwest I know my chicken fried steak. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and great service. read more

Then, they gave them menus but not me. Even after I asked for a menu, a bartender said I would get one and proceeded to help other people before me. The light is horrible some parts of restaurant have sufficient lighting other parts do not. This restaurant caters to people that live in area and frequent often. Based on the location is the reason for the business. The hostess lacked etiquette and hospitality, very obvious she has never worked in customer service. I held my birthday dinner here two weekends ago and the food and service were great! I live close by, so when I called to inquire about hosting a large group, the manager I spoke with was super friendly and accommodating! He offered the private room at no charge and said there wouldn't be any issue if all checks were separate or not. I went ahead and reserved because he was so accommodating and a lot of places around here have restrictions for large parties. The night of my birthday dinner went very well, food was good and our server, Nisha, was extremely attentive and friendly. My guests and I enjoyed our time there. I went back this past Sunday and brunch was deelish (had the biscuits and gravy). I plan on returning this upcoming Sunday to try their shrimp and grits! Excellent overall experience! I came here for brunch and will be back to try some of their lunch or dinner options. The staff were friendly and food was amazing. You can't go wrong ordering any of their brunch items but whatever you get you have to try the home fries which were perfectly seasoned and crispy. I got the grilled kielbasa Benedict- perfectly pouches runny eggs on top of flavorful grilled sausage. The best compliment I can pay this place is that it feels like THE neighborhood bar and restaurant. An unassuming spot on the corner of Commonwealth and E Glebe, Northside 10 is super casual, welcoming, vibrant and, most importantly, good. Service is always great, and the food is not only good-to-great, but also extremely affordable for the area. My girlfriend and I tend to grab to-go since we live nearby, and our meals area always packed well, fresh and almost-always very good. During COVID, they've marked off a portion of the parking lot for tables and on weekends, will host local bands and project sporting events on the side of the building - very dope. I got brunch here yesterday with a friend. The weather was great so we really enjoyed the outdoor dining option. The service was good too, having both our waiter and a food runner checking up on us. I liked that they had a decent cocktail selection, and enjoyed my dark and stormy. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were good, while my friend was happy with his eggs benedict. I got an invite to have Sunday brunch at Northside 10 this past weekend and was so glad I went!  The atmosphere was warm and nearly every table and booth was occupied. Our server, Mike, was attentive and full of suggestions. We decided to share two brunch entrees, the fried chicken and waffles and the andouille gravy shrimp and grits with smoked gouda. The fried chicken & waffles were really good; the batter on the fried chicken was seasoned perfectly and the waffles were crisp on the edges, but still tender. The shrimp and grits were spectacular. Smoke gouda is the perfect cheese to pair with this dish and although I'm not a huge pork eater, I loved the snap of the andouille gravy in it. We both started with regular mimosas, but then at the suggestion of the owner, we had pomegranate mimosas...tangy and perfect! Even though we were full, we took home two desserts - the double fudge brownie with ice cream...I was ecstatic that the brownie did not have any nuts...and me date had the Northside Peach Pound cake which he thought was delicious. I've wanted to try this place for a long time and finally had the opportunity the other day; it was worth the wait! We had a variety of apps including the poutine (OMG, the hype is real!), the fried pickles (amazing) and the brussel sprouts (delish!) and then washed them down with a local brew or two. The three of us got the steak special (with chimichurri butter, the steak salad and, when I couldn't decide between an oyster or a shrimp po boy, they let me do a half and half. So good! Enjoyed this restaurant very much. We had an excellent meal with good service. I had the half rack of ribs which fell off the bone. This is an amazing local spot. One of the first places I started visiting when I first moved to Alexandria from LA. The owners run the place along with great service staff. Definitely a nice place to meet locals while enjoying a nice game night. I usually come in for the Happy Hour and once in a while for a couple of drinks with my girl or solo after a crazy day at work. So I don't exactly dig the location of this place, but it isn't too far of a drive from apartment. I am a fan of pouting and I love short ribs, so when I heard these guys were serving up short rib poutine, I had to check it out. While waiting for the grub I did get to taste three other brews they had on tap. I was hungry going in, but just the poutine alone put my in to a food coma. The guy to my right was pounding some wings and they smelled awesome. The couple to my left had nacho's and a burger that was ordered with a fried egg on top and both looked delicious. Although I only had an appetizer I will definitely be back in to this joint. Hopefully I get the original bartender because the guy that took over ignored me for about twenty minutes. I was about to walk out without paying because I couldn't get his to bring me my check. He was just completely ignoring me. I have a serious issue with bouncing on a tab though (it's a moral thing). This is probably the best American place in Alexandria the Mac and cheese is top notch, the fried Brussels sprouts were good,my Reuben was great,burger was amazing. I basically recommend everything but I definitely recommend the Mac and cheese all the cheese's mixed together just made it amazing. This is the one of the best restaurants I've ever been too! So I recommend going to this if your around this area also the service is very nice and very funny. So 5/5 recommend going and $71 dollars so it's a pretty good place to go to. So, pros are this is a pretty good location. Parking was easy. Server was very pleasant. We were seated super quick. Cons, the food was like "a good show" but I wasn't impressed at all. While the server was very very nice, she just wasn't very attentive... had to ask for refills. 2:00 pm Sunday lunch. Brunch Menu was still available. Of course, eat here! What they offer is a twist on your favorites. Like "why didn't I think of mixing those together coz they taste better together but I may not do it as well." Awesome ribs poutine. Yes it's just French Fries with melted cheese and chunks of ribs but it's one of the better appetizers around town. Got the Rue Burger. Pastrami and sauerkraut on top of your party. Not a fan of sauerkraut but this is a different take on your burger which you get to savor the twist later on. We also ordered the steak, chorizo, egg and potato hash. The flank steak could've used a little more salt but it was cooked right, was juicy and tender. Service was attentive except that the food was served by the cook? who was jeans, tshirt and apron. Overall good experience and will come back to try other stuff and see the place's character at night.
