We are regulars for takeout we order and pick up the food ourselves. My review is for the last 3 times we have ordered. I would give 5 stars for the dishes we normally order and 5 stars for service. We have had major issues with our last 3 separate orders. Chicken cobb salad was missing half the chicken also missing the corn bread and sides of butter. It looked like someone helped themselves to my food. We ordered the same salad the next day. The salad dressing was missing and butter for the corn bread too. I ate a very expensive dry salad. Tonight my husband wanted to surprise me with their fish and chips, OMG someone there should be fired for serving that fish. It was old, raw uncooked on the inside burnt on the outside. The smell was so horrid. I threw the fish in the trash outside . We had to open our house windows and doors for an hour trying to get rid of the horrid smell. Someone in that kitchen needs training. You could get people very sick serving old raw fish. Dishes that are worth trying here are : Chicken Cobb salad. The side bbq pork nachos is always excellent. I recomend them as eat in only that way if something is missing it can be handled in house . I will try back in 4 months to see if things are back to normal in the kitchen I'd love to leave 5 stars. read more

Great happy hour with half price burgers, $5 wine, & half price apps during happy hour. Burgers are great and come with homemade pickles! I also love their salads and nachos. The salads are very hearty and it is a large portion! Their homemade cornbread is great as well. Their patio is very nice but sometimes the service is lacking. Their seafood special on Tuesday & Wednesday is a great deal for shrimp ($6 for half lb.), clams, & mussels. We love this place! read more

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants I've been to in Alexandria! With great customer service, a kid friendly environment AND a beautiful bar that offers some separation for those without kids this place tops it off with a great menu and even better food. It seems like they house-make everything including my now favorite Reuben with thick cut pastrami. Maybe I've lived too sheltered an existence but having that pastrami turned into a Reuben smashed on top of a burger night just be the best thing I've ever had. This place is great! Friendly staff and tasty food with large portions. Beer selection was on point, and the bartender was helpful in selecting the right beer for my taste. Staff are friendly and attentive, even when the place gets packed. I had oysters and IPA on tap. The oysters were very good and fresh. I think I ordered three dozen that night. The acoustics are good too even with all the sports on TV. I ate at the bar with a friend and we chatted all night without having to talk over the crowd or TVs. I'll be going back there regularly. 2.5 stars but I rounded up because I'm feeling generous. Let me preface this with the fact that we've never eaten at this restaurant before in person so I can't comment on anything related to in person dining. That being said we decided to give it a try tonight and ordered carry out. I ordered the parmesan crusted flounder and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak. I can honestly say the flounder dish travelled well and was delicious. The fish could have used a little salt but it was cooked perfectly, the risotto was creamy, and actually the little shrimps hidden in the risotto might have been my favorite part. The chicken fried steak on the other hand was very underwhelming according to my husband. He said it was gristly and seemed undercooked. He didn't finish it and threw the rest away. After seeing rave reviews about the peach pound cake I just had to order it. Big mistake. Huge. I don't know how it comes in the restaurant (the carry out included ice cream and a sauce) but the pound cake was hard as a freaking rock. It was visibly dry and crumbly inside while being near impossible to break with a spoon. It seemed to be about a week old. Even drowning in sauce and melted ice cream it was barely edible. It definitely did not taste like peach in the slightest. The vanilla ice cream on the other hand was delicious and I could easily eat a whole pint of it. Overall I would consider having the flounder again but I'm almost afraid to try anything else because of how wildly inconsistent this meal was. read more

Never been to the location, but I've ordered for delivery here yesterday. I got the crab & artichoke dip, poutine, and hanger steak. I ordered delivery through an app, so I won't include that in my review. Speed: I ordered in the middle of the day around 4:10-4:15ish pm, and according to the app, they were able to finish preparing my food by 4:30. Food: Crab & artichoke dip: I don't recommend unless you really like crab and artichoke. It was plentiful in both crab and artichoke, but they were really chunky. I'm just not a fan of chunky dips. I like how the roll had garlic butter and herbs inside, but the roll itself was tasteless. Poutine: Looking through reviews of this place in multiple sites, this seems to be the most famous starter. Fries are normal but get lumpy, and the cheese got too cold from the delivery, but short ribs was delicious and juicy and really made this poutine memorable. I was able to eat it more than 24 hours later, and the short ribs were still juicy and melts in your mouth. Hanger steak: The best thing I ordered. Like the short ribs, the steak melted immediately in your mouth. It was so tender and flavorful. Because of how thin they were, they were easy to chew and savor. The spinach and mashed potatoes were seasoned well and complement both the steak and each other. I highly recommend. Overall: I really like this restaurant's menu. They have plenty of unique items but also your classic American food fanfare. Because of how varied their menu is, I want to try this place many more times. I highly recommend the Hanger Steak, but I would pass on the Crab & Artichoke Dip. Poutine was so-so. I definitely wish it had some sort of gravy. read more

He was attentive, kept our drinks full and was kind and patient. My wife and I split the short rib poutine appetizer. Win. I saw a couple reviews that talked about how service was bad unless you were a regular but disregarded as hotel was too close and had a decent rating. WHAT A MISTAKE. Sat at the bar and order a drink and then the bartender literally served the entire bar and the all got to order more drinks and food and the bartender also served all the other tables. After the 3rd party at the bar got up and left (who walked in 15mins or more after already seated) made the call to get up and leave. Never got to order another drink or drink lace an food order. I always hate going to these places and always understand why places like this fail as they hire people in the service industry that have no clue what customer service is. I have been to Northside 10 many times and have always enjoyed their food; it is always delicious and the portions are very generous. I was prompted to write this review after their employees went above and beyond tonight. I placed an order for delivery via UberEats, as my boyfriend and I are currently recovering from the flu and didn't have the energy to cook tonight. Long story short, there was a glitch in the app and I was unable to place it properly. After calling Northside 10, the employees tried to resolve the issue via the app but were unable because it had already been processed, so I told them not to worry about the changes and to just process the order as is. To my surprise, I found this kind note in the delivery bag and they had added the extra chicken breast I had tried to request, free of charge! Because of their kindness and generosity, two very tired and very sick people were able to eat a full meal tonight and start to feel a little bit better! I usually don't frequent Virginia too much, but a client wanted to eat here. Well, it reminded me of why I avoid Virginia. Lol I guess you would describe it as basic. Not much interesting decor. The drinks were pretty standard and not creative. I had a tea vodka with lemonade. We sat at a booth in the back, which was quiet but a bit boring because there weren't many people there and most who were were hanging in the front bar area or on the patio. I ordered the flank steak. It was cut in thin slices and thrown on top of a big glob of mashed potatoes. I guess presentation is not their thing! There was also some sautéed stringy spinach and some bland mushroom sauce. Not my kind of place! Call me a dining snob but I like more unique place with a more trendy atmosphere. read more

Incredible customer service is an understatement! We got home after picking up our food only to realize we were short a meal - so we called to make sure we had ordered it and that it wasn't a careless mistake on our part. They insisted that they would deliver the forgotten meal to our door!!! In literally 10 minutes!! Three friends and I came in last Saturday evening. While we were enjoying our outside dining, they had a live band playing. Their selection of cover songs were excellent and not too loud. The food was top notch. I ordered a half of chicken nachos for an appetizer. They were great except it didn't seem like much chicken on there. For my entree I had the special, salmon topped with creamy shrimp and white sauce with green beans and rice. It was very well flavored. The slushy margaritas were just right.
