I needed to get my household goods out of their storage quickly to stop the situation from getting worse. Just-In Time Moving was gracious enough to fit me into their schedule last minute. Their office was communicative, their estimate was thorough and clear, and the final bill matched what they estimated. The crew showed up on time, communicated throughout the day, and was professional, careful, and kind. This was not a simple move. They had to unload my furniture and belongings from storage crates, unwrap items that had been wrapped by the prior mover, take care with everything, rewrap my furniture, load it, transport it, and unload it into my new storage unit. They completed the entire job in 7.5 hours. By comparison, the prior mover had tried to bill me 16.5 hours for the move into storage alone. Just-In Time Moving did a fantastic job, and I am extremely grateful they were willing to help me on short notice. After the experience I had before them, their professionalism, clear communication, and honest billing meant everything. My advice to anyone hiring movers: read all reviews carefully, do not take online ratings at face value, check whether the company is listed with moversaz.org, review BBB ratings, and read how the company responds to 1-star and 2-star reviews. I wish I had done more research before hiring the first company. I am very thankful I found Just-In Time Moving when I did.

Just to see, I spent a day calling around for quotes. Some places wanted nearly $300/hr plus a long laundry list of hidden fees, and I thought there was no way it was worth it. But the last company I called was Sterling Interstate, and wow--what a breath of fresh air. We had already dealt with a lot of stress while closing on our first home, and we just needed a reliable team to cross the finish line. The moving industry doesn't always have the best reputation, so I was praying they'd be good--and they turned out to be the absolute best. Not only is their hourly rate very fair for the quality of work, but they also don't hit you with random fees. My husband and I had our home 95% packed and stacked, leaving them to navigate moving everything down a flight of stairs and prepping/packing the larger furniture. Since this was our first time hiring movers, we were blown away: they wrapped and packed everything like it was going cross-country! Even knowing it was only a 15-minute drive, they took zero chances with damage, and everything arrived completely untouched. I am terrible with names, so I've already forgotten the exact crew who came out, but they were AMAZING. On a brutally hot and humid July day in Arizona, they hustled nonstop for 6.5 hours. They took necessary breaks, but they worked so hard, all while cracking jokes with us and keeping the mood light. By the time they left, it felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Pro tip: If you hire movers in the AZ summer, please be kind--offer them cold water, sports drinks, and maybe some Rice Krispies Treats to keep them going! Jeff and his crew (Roy, Matthew & Aidan) came up with a solution for me that was very workable. They came out 2 days before the move and completely loaded up a U-Haul. They came back 2 days later with their truck and loaded up the balance of my property, moved both trucks to my new location and unloaded both. These guys worked like dogs, but very efficient and friendly dogs! They were extremely careful with my stuff, and the only thing that got broken was a piece that I transported myself. The local companies are happy to take your business for intrastate moves; but not interstate moves. I was concerned when no contract was required by Brandon. However, this guy can be trusted to perform what is agreed upon with just using text messaging. He is also very careful with fragile pieces; taking great care in delivering them in one piece. Some movers suggested shipping our boxes. However, this is not an inexpensive option. Plus ,unlike Brandon, who carries your boxes out of the unit and into your destination ( we have three levels ); the usual shippers require delivery to the store and drop off at the eventual destinations front stoop. The movers in AZ had known this was broken because the leg for the dresser was wrapped in plastic and shoved under the tarp covering the dresser. We were never informed that it had been broken. We filed a claim, since this was a brand new dresser and it's unsafe to have in our baby's room. We were denied because we did not inform the movers it was broken before they left the premises in AZ, but to know it was broken we would have had to been able to inspect all the furniture in the truck which is impossible to do when it's loaded. Plus, if the movers knew they broke it, we should have been notified by them. Getting a response from our claim agent takes multiple follow ups, where they tell me the same information and do not answer any of my follow-up questions, despite telling me to reach back out if I have any questions. Moving is always a stressful time, and now we have the added stress of trying to receive some compensation so we can replace furniture that was knowingly broken.

As we were packing we discovered the amount of items we needed to store were expanding. Judy realized they didn't have a 3rd unit and called several other local storage facilities in an attempt to help me locate one. When that didn't come to fruition, Judy emptied the unit they use to store their items for the facility and rented that to me as well. The place is clean and secure. Easily accessed. If I ever need storage again, I will call Greenway Mini Storage first. And I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks.

Her positive attitude is contagious. She helped me with my storage needs. She was very thorough. She walked me through the property. The property is very nice. It looks brand new and extremely clean. It is centrally located, and unlike most climate controlled facilities. That one is actually cold inside. One of the things I noticed while touring the property was Renee knew all the renters that were on the property by name. I thought was wonderful. Throughout my three visits to the property to Renée was on site. One thing I will mention is being a store manager. I seen her personally with the cleaning cart and gloves on cleaning storage units cleaning as well as the facilities. As a manager myself, I thought her leading my example was amazing. She also checked on me to make sure I was doing OK because it was hot outside while unloading my U-Haul unit. She's very hands-on. She has a great personality. This store facilities is a very lucky to have her. I would highly recommend the facility based off of how clean it is, how well kept it, it's very centrally located in Phoenix. And of course, because of Renee.

The delivery driver, Jerry, was also fantastic--professional, friendly, and very thorough during pickup. He took great care loading the dumpster back onto his truck and even went the extra mile by sweeping up the debris that had collected underneath using a broom and dustpan. They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

NorthStar moving company has never lost any of my items while moving. They are extremely professional. I have moved with them in the past. Twice in San Fransisco, and once in Alameda, CA. They gave us a quote via video chat on the phone. I showed them what I still had left to pack, and they gave me an estimate. So I packed more, and more. As the days followed they followed up with me consistently. They said whatever I needed, or did not have done for moving day they would take care of, and they followed through with that. The items I couldn't pack up furniture, big mirrors, paintings. The movers were very thoughtful, and kind when packing up things I couldn't get to on moving day. There were about five men that came to help pack me up. They carefully loaded everything into truck, and didn't break anything. When I got to my new place. It was only one main person, and two other men. It tock two weeks to get my things from my old place to my new one, because it is a very long drive away. The problem here is they told me they drove straight through which was about 12 hours. Then once they got here they had said they wanted more "money for a tip", and that they were "tired". I was already paying quite a lot to get to my current place. However, the weather was extremely hot. So I offered them some water, and a bit more cash to help them out. It was very hard for them I could see that, and I was not sure why there was only three men here to unpack everything. There was five, or six when we did the packing. The unpacking was only basically two men. Sam was there to oversee the unpacking, and make sure the other two men were doing it all correctly. He minimally helped them. The three of them were very nice, and mannerly. I just wish they had more people to help them. Especially, knowing they would be going to different type of weather. I am very thankful for NorthStar though. I've moved with other moving companies, and they lost more than half of my items. So NorthStar is very good at keeping track, and being careful. Kevin was one of the movers who really tock the time, and care my items needed to unwrap them properly, and move furniture. Let me just start off by saying NorthStar Moving is a life savor! I had to be out of my apartment by the end of the month with a day prior notice. Being the only one out of state with no family I was starting to feel helpless. After shopping around for a moving company I came across NorthStar. I called in for a quote and spoke with Gloria. I didn't think there was anyway I would be able to find good help in such a short notice. But wow let me tell you after speaking with Gloria she was able to arrange a last minute move for me within minutes. Gloria was super professional, kind and made a move that was suppose to be stressful..stress free. Hands down they have the best rates in town after speaking with several moving companies. It gets better as I see they're a 5 star company. What more can you ask for!! Today I had my move with David and his crew. I loved the fact that I had a curtsey call with an estimated time of arrival. On arrival David's crew was very pleasant. Each introducing themselves and even shaking my hand making me feel like I can trust this crew. The movers went straight to work, and were fast and efficient. Some things I was concerned about moving, they made it a point to take extra caution and make me feel like my furniture and items were in the best hands.. which they were! Going to my new place they assembled everything and even asked me where I wanted my items instead of placing my things scattered. This crew was super communicative which I really appreciated. They moved my one bedroom from one apartment to another including travel time in little over a hour! WOW!! What more can you ask for. BEST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! In all my years, and with all my moves, they've set a new standard when it comes to movers. By chance I learned of North Star Moving Co., and before calling a previous company that did a great job; liked the reviews I read on Yelp, and got an appointment precisely when I wanted it. Great service from the very first phone call to the end of my move. They also made sure all was confirmed the day before. I had Bobby, Marcus and Victor! AWESOME movers! My back was(is) out! and Bobby, Marcus and Victor all have the most wonderful attitudes, as I pointed out what needed to go. Under normal circumstances, I would have done more with having most in one place; however, they made me feel like I didn't need to do a thing; making the move seem effortless-that's a major feat when it comes to moving!!! They took excellent care of my "stuff", and hardly broke a sweat with my prized solid marble table and base. When unloading, same thing, placing everything exactly where I wanted, moving with efficiency and speed. Not only did they work consistently and steadily, never stopping to break; they strategically placed everything so well to ensure there were no "incidents;" seemingly caring about my property as much as I do. I have nothing but positive things to say about NorthStar Moving. I had bought a living social voucher for this company so I wasn't completely sure how our experience was going to be. I'm horrible with names, I believe it was Victor and Juan, were very nice and professional. They called an hour before arrival as promised, which was helpful. They had a nice moving truck filled with all the essentials (moving blankets, furniture dollies, shrink wrap, you get the idea), that put us at ease immediately, we knew we were in good hands. Victor took the time to do a walk through with me to get an idea what all needed to be moved and go over a few things. All pieces of furniture were wrapped and secured in the truck in a very timely manner. When we arrived to the new place, Victor did another walk through we me to get a general idea of where we wanted things placed. The guys got everything in, again in a timely manner. They made sure everything was were we wanted it before leaving. It's all the little details; like a smile and a handshake, having the right equipment, and taking care of our stuff are just a few reason I would recommend NorthStar Moving and Victor and Juan to anyone. My family had a one in a lifetime opportunity to move to California from Airzona in no less than a week and we contacted north star moving company in Airzona and we don't regret it at all. i never had such a good experience with a moving company! my moving guys were Alex the head guy, Martin, John and i'm sorry i forgot the names of the other 2 movers. they worked really well together and were like a well oiled machine: fast and efficient. Alex was very good in communication with me all day and letting me know whats going on with his guys as well as what the next steps for the move are. they were even kind to our kids, joking around and making them feel less stressed out during the move. i was very grateful for the combination of a really professional group that was also friendly and nice to be around. it was a long day but everything made it ok and we are all happy to be in our new home! thank you north star for a job well done! read more

Update: While filling out the paperwork I was asked several times if I'd submitted a review yet...again and again... After being at our new place a few months we keep coming across dented, broken items. Now I know why they were quite insistent on having me leave a review before they left. If you decide to go with this company do not, I repeat, DO NOT let them move your electronics or anything you don't want dented. Completely cracked my bf's new gaming monitor (which they offered to pay a small portion for but wouldn't replace it--after going back and forth they offered an amt that would actually help), dented my blueray player, dented the top of my receiver, broke a lamp, etc. Don't get me wrong, the guys were very pleasant to work with, but I won't be going back. So disappointing because the first time I used this company a couple years ago and they did an amazing job and everything went so smoothly. read more

We chose NorthStar for our move because of the pricing. In comparison with other companies, it was much more competitive! Once they got to our apartment, they took such good care of all of our items. We had three movers: Johan, David, and Cesar. They were so nice and efficient. They wrapped everything up and carefully, yet quickly, loaded up the truck. Once they got to our house, they were so meticulous and made sure every piece of furniture or box was placed in the proper place. Our daughter was napping in one of the rooms so I asked them to avoid that room and be quiet when they were around it. She slept through the whole thing! Since you pay for each hour, I was nervous that they would move slowly to tack on extra time, but they were so quick. We don't plan on moving again soon, but when we do, we'll use NorthStar again. Northstar Moving Company in Phoenix is a great moving company! We had several issues with our house sale and moving and they were able to work with us on being flexible to accomodate our closing/moving dates. Austin Bastian (team leader), Hamdi Lachaal, Adam Derr and David Camargo did an excellent job packing our belongings, loading and unloading into our storage units. Just by looking at the guys that work for this moving company, you may be skeptical about their service. Their appearance is just like any other mover in America but, I was pleasingly astonished when I watch them pack and move my belongings. The excellent moving service of US interstate movers from packing, moving to unpacking made me really glad. The manner of these movers makes them the best among other moving companies in the country. I am thankful for the service. My move was wonderful and enjoyable owing to the speed the guys from this company move my belongings. The movers were able to reach my new destination before me despite the fact that they carried heavy items on their trucks. The most interesting of al is that nothing was damaged in my belongings. We used NorthStar Moving 3 years ago to move us into our new home. Back then they did an outstanding job. (I left a glowing review here on Yelp.) So now we are replacing carpet and needed our furniture moved so we called on NorthStar to do it again. We weren't disappointed. It was a different team of guys but they also did an awesome job. Arrived on time, were very careful with our stuff and walls, helped dismantle items, and got it done quickly. The next day, they worked with me on timing their arrival to be after the carpet was installed. They moved everything back in place, helped reassemble dressers, bed frames, and a very heavy armoire. The guys at Northstar Moving were GREAT!! They showed up on time. Called and let me know they were on the way. They were in and out. We only used them to move the heavy office items. Which were very heavy. They did a wonderful job. They had to disassemble my desk it was wrapped and very carefully relocated. We also had them move 8 filing cabinets that were also completely full. Not a problem. They moved them and even made sure they were back in the correct order. I would definitely use them again. I initially chose this moving company last year to help move my father from one Assisted living facility to another and I was extremely impressed with their competence, timeliness, and friendly demeanor. So, I called them again for my major move out of the house I'd been living in for 10 years and into a new home. Once again, they were spot on! They completely reduced my anxiety and stress, they didn't make me feel like my objects were a hassle to move and they continually checked in with me to see how I was feeling! Everything from Northstar Moving was awesome. From our first meeting with David who quoted our move, to the actual movers on the day of moving. Bryce, Austin, Alex, and Johne were the 4 guys that helped us on the day of our move. They packed the stuff that we ran out of time and didn't pack, and they moved everything with care. Nothing was damaged during the move. They were all super friendly and helpful as well. Price was exactly as quoted and they had us from our old house to our new house in 8 hours. This was my first time using a moving company. After being in my AZ home for over 20 years, moving and downsizing to a California apartment was pretty daunting. The folks at NorthStar were great at helping me through the process. They were on time and their follow up and follow through were great. They packed some expensive art items I wasn't sure how to handle and everything showed up in tact. They put together items they dismantled and set all furniture where we needed it. NorthStar Moving Company was reliable, professional and did a wonderful job moving my apartment. Appointment details and communication were great. The movers and truck arrived within 30 minutes of the timeframe given, and they got to work ASAP!! The two men (I think John/Johan & Jaime) worked their butts off and had my apartment moved out of and the new place unloaded in 3 hours (moving up 40 stairs to unload). I did a lot of searching around and got the best quote/deal with NorthStar. Their rates are fair and lower than any I found out there, even with tip. Johan, Pablo and Jose were great! They worked so hard and quickly. Nothing was broken. Nothing damaged. They unloaded two 16 ft PODS that were fully packed in 3.5 hours. I can't thank you enough guys for the hard work. NorthStar was great. They answered my request for a quote quickly. Answered the phone every time I called. I had to delay the unload of the pods by two days due to Pods having equipment issues. They were so flexible. Thanks NorthStar! I hope to God I don't have to move again but if I do, I will call you! THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT. I just moved 15 months ago, so I had a reference between the way it shouldn't be done and how Northstar did it. I felt absolutely comfortable every step of the way because of their professionalism. They came to my place and provided a fixed price move, which was in the middle of the four quotes I got, and the only one were someone visited me. The people that picked my furniture up were ON-TIME, professional, and wrapped everything in a way to assure no damage. Same on the delivery, ON-TIME, professional, and cleaned up. Today is my best experience of moving.These guys have great working attitude, and they are very friendly. They take extremely care of everything, including my door frame and carpet, they put blanket to protect them. They are very professional and efficient. And this time I only book for 3 people but there were 4 people came to do the job and still charge me for 3 people.
