Had my converter stolen while in Buffalo visiting. Called Northtown late on Saturday afternoon, explained that I needed fixed or patched that day, had to get home, 4 hours away. They said "Come right in". Wasted an hour of my time only to ask... "Are you leaving it with us?, We're too busy to handle today." This dealership is expensive and I have had a review up for a long time about 2 years but the reason I am changing my review is because they sold me a car that is actually decent. Although expensive and the fact the used car manager is unprofessional sold me car with dry rotted tires. I will have to say the vehicle I exchanged out has had minimum problems in the past two years of driving. I get a vibe off of most Honda dealers to stay away from them because the dealers near me really suck but the one I would go to if I were to get another Honda would be west herr they are really nice but anyway back to my review this dealership is okay do not trust anything unless you have it in writing and be careful with what you get from here they have really bad used cars and they are overpriced. One of the worst service treatment I ever had in my life was at Northtown Honda.....Attempted to buy out a lease car...and was promised a 3year buy out loan...and got a contract for a 3 year loan...and low and behold a 4 year booklet loan came in the mail..I complained to Thomas the manager and he agreed there was a 3 year loan contract....so why did the finance guy named Mike M give us a 4 year loan...it's all a big scam...mike must be getting a kick back from the banks to give costumers a 4 year loan...I also complained to another manager there named joe K....and he onced again tried to talk me into getting a 4 year loan...once I mentioned I was getting a lawyer involved ..he blew his stack and wanted to throw me out...and screamed that I was threating him.......and I was with legal advice...finally after arguing for over 1 hour I got my 3 year loan....what a joke these 2 employees are..There both rude and disrespectfull to customers...Stay Away From this dishonest business.... read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE, you will regret it like I am right now. I bought a cute little car here , for a second car to have cause my other car is a lease and I am over on my miles, so my check engine came on. So we took it back to the dealer , and a week later I still do not have the car back. How do you do a 150 point inspection and not notice that the brakes were bad and a sensor was bad , come which I found out that they probably just turned the light off to sell me the car. Not once to this day did they even reach out to me to explain anything about my car, until today when me and my partner called , and now they are trying to tell me that it's on national back order the part that is.. well they are full of shot cause I contacted auto zone, Napa, pep boys and also another dealership and every place told me it could be delivered to my house in no more than 5 days and Amazon even has it online, I am done with there games, they messed with the wrong person, cause I very smart guy.. so GUYS PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP CAUSE YOU WILK REGRET IT LATER.. read more

Their service department is first rate.The Honda Odyssey is wonderful. However, three years ago and again last month my wife and I had bad experiences with their sales department. Three years ago, the salesperson we were assigned forgot we were waiting for service - for over an hour. The Manager finally approached us, did a deal with us, and half hour later we walked out with a three year lease on a 2014 Odyssey. This year, three years later, we went back to get a new vehicle. The same sales person that ignored us before was too busy to attend to us this time as well. We stole a couple minutes of his precious time to tell him the few options (lease and buy) we wanted priced and left with a promise that he would call us. He never did. We called him again and again and finally got him to speak to us. Meanwhile, I called Honda Corporate and arranged to extend the lease on our present car. Corporate was helpful and efficient but told us that if we were interested in actually purchasing our present lease vehicle we should call Ziegler Dealership Finance Department. I did. The semi-snippy receptionist told me that they had three financial departments. She left me connected to a busy line. I finally hung up and called back again. Same Miss Snippiness. This time she left me on a line with an answering machine. I left our information and inquiries and asked for someone to call me back. They did not. We dealt with Honda Corporate and extended the present lease for another year. Next year we will certainly purchase or lease another Odyssey. It is extremely unlikely we will take our business to Ziegler and beg them to sell us a car. read more

I usually don't take the time to write reviews but I felt that I had to. The service I got from this place was horrible and so impersonal. I had previously purchased a car from them, when they were a lot smaller. Unfortunately I was in a car accident and since I had such a good experience with Martin (who is no longer there) I wanted to go back to honda. Biggest waste of my time. Almost a week and towards the end I would have to call the seller to ask about any progress. I do admit there was some problems with my insurance and the bank to clear a check, but after that was resolved I never heard from the lady I was working. I called her and left a message and it was like they did not want to work with me. Even me being set on signing and driving out. Next time have the decency to let me know you don't want to work with me. read more

Been looking at various compact and subcompact subs for couple weeks, and decided to try Honda HR-V Model at Northtown Honda on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst. They didn't have any new ones but expected a shipment any day. In meantime, sales rep Scott Socha suggested I test drive certified pre owned model to see how I liked it. Model he brought out was 2019 with 4,000 miles on it...immaculate inside and out, and after test drive I felt it was perfect for me! That's the model I ended up buying - no need to wait for 2022 models to come in! The way I was treated from the minute I walked into the dealership was stellar! No one pressured me, they all worked with me explaining everythIng and patiently answering my questions, and got me a monthly payment that fit my budget! My check engine light was on my dash along with my parking brake light. The first time it came on the service manager turned the lights off, second time I was told I need a diagnostic done, I spent $150 and 7 hours later they told me the issue was non result full on their diagnostic machine. They said if I wanted I can have them look further into the issue but they charge $150 an HOUR. The service center manager said all diagnostics are a flat $150 and by that he said a flat $150 an hour! These guys are a complete rip off and delusional. They're trying to take advantage of their customers to make up for lost revenue. AVOID AT ALL COST! Autozone will do a diagnostic for free, I went to them in hopes they'll fix the problem, not give me any information to what's causing my lights to come on and attempt to Nickel and dime me for more money just to do the job they were supposed to do in the first place read more

Took the car in for a "free" airbag recall and a couple of warning lights on and ended up $1,500 lighter. And amazingly, the bill included almost $1,000 in labor! When I called to complain I was told by the manager the labor rate was $110/hour and my wife had approved all of the work. When I told him $110/hour was an annual rate of $228,800 (40 hours per week x 52 weeks x $110 per hour) he seemed very confused. A lot of the work they did involved changing out fluids. Are you kidding me? Is that work that deserves $228,800 per year? What a joke! Bottom line...let the buyer beware. I was an idiot for ever stepping foot in this place. A $1,500 lesson! Don't make the same mistake. Unless of course you need heart surgery because that is roughly the annual rate for a doctor, not a fluid changer. You can probably tell I will never set foot in this place again, but I also will never buy a Honda. If Honda sponsors businesses like this they aren't really paying much attention and do not deserve my business. You can make your own decision. Hope your luck is better than mine. read more

Yeah long story short don't buy from these ducking people . Four months ago I bought a used civic from them and they said it would be ready the next two days it tools two weeks for them to inspect it and change an air compressor . So I paid two weeks of car insurance for nothing . The car turned out fine and works great but they gave me the car with a broken hub cap and they smashed the shit out of the side . Fast forward to a month ago I got pulled over for going like five miles over the speed limit and the cops told me my registration was suspended for lapse of insurance even though I have evidence of payment . So the cops took my plates and impounded my car . Fucking great right ? So I got my car out of impound a few days after that $400 right there . I call the dealership and as it turns out the manger says they never registered my freaking car until two weeks after I bought it and since I transferred the plates from my old car to my new one my old insurance geico thought I was driving my old car uninsured (since I cancelled that insurance the day I bought the civic and insuranced my civic with progressive )called the dmv and had my registration suspended . The manger says he'll take care of dealing with geico and the over a thousand dollar bill from impounding and tickets from a suspended registration. However fast forward three weeks and still no word about my registration and without that being taken care of I can't my plates back from the cops. So overall I'm still waiting for them to deal with this even though I call them back every four to five days about it . I'm just going to make an apt with the dmv and deal with this myself . Worst customer service, rude and always a super long wait to have anything done . 3 hour oil changes with appointment etc . Since I moved from other state, I went few times to Zeigler (formerly Don Davis Honda) in Amherst only for service. One time my 2003 Accord would not start. I searched on the internet forums, carried out simple tests and came to know that it is a starter issue. I towed the car to Zeigler and they charged $95 for diagnosis and gave me a quote of $900. I showed them that the part was on the internet for almost 1/3rd of price they were charging. Few calls back and forth and finally they agreed to that price and my work was done in half the price. In 2nd instance, took the car for oil change. The drain plug was faulty and they recommended to change the entre oil pan and gave a quote of $690. Quick browse on the internet would show that the oil pan (Honda OEM) for my model would not cost more than $90. So I took the car to local mechanic and he charged me $40 (Oil change + drain plug replacement). Stay away from them. If you're patient and good at Google(which everyone of us is), browse the automobile forums on internet and take the car to a good mechanic like Mavis tires on Sheridan and save yourself a fortune. read more

This dealer does not stand behind its vehicles or service guarantees. After an accident, in January 2019 I purchased a 2015 Certified Pre-Owned Honda Pilot. The vehicle came with a trailer wiring harness installed. I remember thinking just before leaving that I should have checked to make sure the harness worked, but everything else seemed fine and I was assured that if there were any problems, to just bring it back and it would be taken care of either by the dealer or the 12-month, 12,000-mile Certified Pre-Owned bumper to bumper warranty. Sure enough, come springtime I hook up a trailer to find the trailer lights don't work. I test the harness myself and find there is no voltage coming from the light circuit. I take it back, and after repeated questioning am told that they will not cover it and I would have to pay $337 to have it fixed. Incredibly disappointed. read more

I made an appointment to talk to the dealership and look at used small SUVs, and the sales rep who made the appointment with me was busy with another customer when I came in at our scheduled meeting time. I was seen by another sales rep who was the only enjoyable part of this experience. I went home to look at a few more cars and scheduled another appointment with the original sales rep who blew me off. Low and behold, when I come in for my second appointment, he is busy with another customer again, so I met with a different sales rep. He was very helpful during the process, even allowed me to take the car I was very interested in home overnight to drive to work then back to the dealership the next day. When I returned the car on Friday, I was told that I can put a deposit down in order to take it off the market until I come back Tuesday to make a final decision since I was out of town all weekend. I got a call Saturday saying if I wanted the car I would need to make a decision that day or else another customer was going to buy it, despite the promise (and deposit I put down) saying that the car would be off the market until Tuesday. I was extremely disappointed and felt betrayed that Zeigler would go back on their word like that. (Why take my money in the first place then if it wasn't taken off the market?) I will not be going to Zeigler for anything in the future, and I will not be recommending Zeigler to anyone looking for a used or new car, or for car maintenance. I dont ever write review but I had to for this one. Waiting at the service desk for an hour, nobody asked me if I was being helped, people were too busy setting up pumpkins. Overheard tons of useless conversations, GET TO WORK NORTHTOWN!!! sells person didn't know anything about the product they are selling. At the time of delivery missed rear cargo area covering black sheet is missing for my new 2015 Honda crv and its cost will be around 400usd. After asking to put it back they are asking evidence and for that I told to see videos that may exists in workshop in and around entrances but they didn't deliver this missing one. Very disappointed in the horrible customer services we received here. We made an appt time to see the sales man Al at 4 pm to test drive the exact car we wanted. When we get there we were seated down at a table for over 45 before he car was pulled up for the drive and it was not the one we wanted and to make it worse the person we made our appt with was too busy running around to really even talk to us. Salesman assured us they have what we wanted but yet we werent able to test drive it... Then after going out for the drive we come back in to sit and wait more. I'm sorry but when I go to a dealership I don't expect to just sit around waiting in a salesman to give us the time of day. Finally after 2 and a half hours we got to talk about number for the car. We were at the point where I was happy with the price and go to notice the salesman changed the vehicle trim without consulting us on the price sheet when we're told one thing then come to see they were getting shifty when they changed it. Didn't appreciate how poorly we were treated here, won't be stepping back in that store again. read more

Let me start by saying I did end up leasing a car from here. It started off well with not to pushy selling with just the right amount of selling. From there it all went down hill. I made an appointment to meet with the salesmen I met with my first visit for 5pm. I showed up at 5 pm and he was with another customer. He told me to hang out for 10 minutes and he would help me. An hour later I was still "hanging out". Needless to say, I left. From there we finally negotiated a deal and such. In working with the finance people, they did not give me the deal that I had agreed to with the salesmen until I caught it on the contract...shady. Lastly, when I went to pick it up they forgot to get the plates for it so I had to go back the next day. Then a week later I had to go back again because they messed up the contract. THESE PEOPLE WILL LIE TO YOU AND TRY TO STEAL YOUR MONEY. DON'T GO TO THEM. This has been about a month process that started out great and gradually turned into a nightmare. My fiance, myself, and my dad (he's been a mechanic for years and owned his own collision shops) went to Zeigler to purchase a Honda Civic for her. We looked around and didn't really find anything nice in our price range. Rick Carpenteri approached us in the parking lot and we sat down with him and he found a nice 08 Honda Civic for a great price for us. It was in immaculate condition (no dents or rust) and drove great. The previous owner took very good care of the car. On the CarFax that they kept up on all general maintenance. We gave the okay and we had to come back the next day so they could get the car ready for us. We get there the next day and look at the car and there is a HUGE DENT in the rocker panel that was not there the day before. A mechanic or a young hire drove the car into something that caused the dent. I told Rick I don't want to sign anything until I know the dent is going to get taken care of. He said he'd get a dent guy to look at it and shoved the papers in our faces to get us to sign. I refused because I know a dent in a rocker panel is more than a dent guy can fix easily. He was clearly agitated and he gave us an ultimatum either we sign the papers or he's going to take the plates off the car. So we signed the papers. We walked away with a car with a dent in it caused by Zeigler, a couple certificates for oil changes, and no one looked at the dent on the car like Rick said he would do for us. He also told us the car was covered by the Lemon Law. Which was a lie. Two - three weeks later on the way home from the Angola the oil light and check engine light came on a few miles out of the parking lot while we were driving away from a red light. Safety feature kicked in the car shut down and we coasted into the nearest parking lot. The tow truck guy came he put the car on the truck and we took a look underneath the car and THE OIL PLUG WAS MISSING. IT FELL OUT WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. When Zeigler was getting the car ready for us they gave us an oil change. When they did the oil change they either didn't tight the oil plug enough or tightened it too much that it stripped the threads and it fell out. We went to Zeigler the next day and they gave us another oil change and said that everything runs fine. I was worried of ENGINE DAMAGE and wanted some type of warranty that would cover the car since this happened due to Zeigler's continued negligence. I talked to Clark Lang who basically said he can't give us a warranty because he doesn't think this was caused by Zeigler and threw some oil change certificates to get me out of his office and said that everything is fine he's "been doing this for 30 years." We drove the car around that night. I started hearing a very subtle knocking when the car accelerated. They next morning my fiance started her car and said that there where three LOUD KNOCKS IN THE ENGINE. So much for Clark's 30 years of experience. What I thought was going to happen happened. So, we take the car back to Zeigler. We sit down with Greg Illenz and Clark to discuss the situation. I told them what obviously happened and Zeigler should take responsibility and cover the damage done. Clark then proceeded to sarcastically talk to me and said that they think someone vandalized the car while it was in the parking lot. Which makes absolute no sense. Why would someone we don't know randomly pick our Honda Civic crawl under the car on gravel (which my dad tried in their shop he couldn't reach the plug) and take out our oil plug. Even if they did, the car wouldn't start and drive there would be no oil in it. They came up with anything they could to not take responsibility and TRIED TO GET US TO PAY FOR DAMAGES OVER $2000.00. We were there for four hours arguing with them. I threatened to call the DMV, their banks, and get my attorney involved. They finally gave in and replaced the engine for us and fix the rocker panel. It took two weeks because they first put an 06 engine in the car which is illegal and they had to send it back and get the right year engine. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE. read more

I would go somewhere else....the salesman I worked with had poor people skills & poor sales techniques. I told him the price I wanted to pay for a car & he kept pressuring me to buy a more expensive car for a lower monthly rate and longer payment period. He pressured me to buy a brand new car when I clearly said I am NOT interested in new. He argued with my fiancé that it would be more expensive for me to buy a used car vs a brand new one. This may be my first time going through a dealership, and I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure $24,000 is a lot more money than $18,000. Not including the higher interest I would pay over time from having a longer loan. He also insulted me several times. When I told him I would like to think about it and talk it over with my dad since he has more experience in sales, he responded "why would you need to talk to your dad, he's not driving the car." along with "well this is just too much car for you, we'll get you into something else." I ended up going to Jim Schmidt Ford in Ohio and they got me a much better deal on a newer car with lower miles & the salesman Rick was great. No pressure at all, offered me a great rate but was understanding when I decided to go with my own bank. There was actually a vehicle there that was comparable to the car at Harold Ziegler, but had 30,0000 less miles and was almost $2,000 cheaper. read more

My wife and I went to Northtown Honda to purchase a Honda CRV. We previously went to West Herr Honda and also went to Lia Honda to price shop. When I told Chris, our salesman at Northtown Honda, that Lia Honda was offering a lower price, he berated and talked down to me right in the store. I was floored by the way he was talking to me. He claimed that we should not price shop because he thought we had a deal. When I told him that a vehicle is a huge investment and you have to price shop, he said there was no need for me to go to another dealer. Northtown was obviously ripping us off from the beginning because Lia's price was $25 less a month than what Northtown initially offered. When I came back to return the test drive vehicle, Chris made me wait while he was on the phone then told me thanks without shaking my hand or anything. TERRIBLE experience. We ended up going the next day to buy a Honda CRV from Lia Honda and we love it. Never go to this establishment unless you want to be ripped off and talked down to. read more
