I replaced the sender side myself, but the receiver side had a bolt that was completely stuck. I got a quote from a handyman for $400 and a second quote from a garage repair service for $350. I was hesitant to commit to either. Then Guy told me it was an easy fix, a five minute job, and he would do it free of charge. Just for the positive brand awareness. I honestly could not believe it. He said he would be at my house within an hour. Every word was true. He arrived in less than an hour, ready to work. What I have to share is that the job was far from simple. The nut was corroded and fused to the bolt. We tried impact drivers. We etched grooves for flathead and Phillips screwdrivers to get more torque. Nothing worked. Guy ended up removing the entire railing and used a Dremel to cut the bolt out. Sparks were literally flying as we cut through metal together. After getting everything cleared, Guy had a brilliant idea. He reversed the position of the sender and receiver so the signal unit would no longer sit at the angle of the sun and distort the signal. He swapped the units, reinstalled every component, and tested everything until it all worked perfectly. What was supposed to be a five minute job turned into over an hour of dedicated, problem solving work. Through all of it, Guy never once mentioned payment. He would not accept a single dollar from me. In a world where it is easy to feel skeptical, Guy reminded me that honest, sincere, and genuinely skilled people still exist. Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.

He charged me one time and exhausted all the possible reasons to diagnose the issue. When the problem persisted after our original service call, Dave came at no extra charge with Jeremy to re-wire my entire garage. Ultimately this didn't work either meaning our garage motor was shot (which we wouldn't have known if Dave didn't have the patience to try all the methods of fixing it and seeing if the problem persisted). We selected a reasonably priced commercial grade garage door replacement and had Jeremy install it in one hour. They even credited me the cost of my initial service call toward my new garage motor. Incredible customer relations showing how much they care. Now our new garage has all the bells and whistles with a camera and mobile app. We love it! In summary; they are fast, responsive, fairly priced and good people. Don't look elsewhere for your garage service needs!
