I really don't understand the negative reviews. I tried the place out because a UPS driver highly recommended it. He told me you can get spaghetti and a salad for a small price. The sphaghetti was nothing to rave about, but not bad either. It was a good value for lunch. I wasn't expecting anything fancy. I like their pizza better than any other pizza in town. They are very generous with the toppings. I'd give the pizza 4 stars. I only order the vegetarian and it's the only place in town that gives me a huge helping of fresh veggies. (I ordered a veggie pizza from Great American Pizza and had to use a spyglass to find the overly chopped vegetables!). Northwest uses nice big slices of zuccini and doesn't scrimp with the black olives or the onions. As expected with vegetables, the pizza can use a tad more salt or seasoning, but I make that adjustment myself (usually with the little packets of crushed red pepper flakes -- that kicks it up a notch). The place is dark inside kinda like Mountain Mike's in East Medford but it's supposed to be because it's a place for watching sports on the big screen while enjoying a brew. It has big booths perfect for get-togethers. The pinball machine and arcade games make it a great place to take kids. (I'm an adult and I've popped in a few quarters while waiting for the pizza -- it's fun. The pinball machine is actually quite challenging.) My dad also likes their pizza (he likes sausage and pepperoni) and he orders it for home delivery. It's the ONLY pizza he will eat (he tried Great American and didn't like it either). I recommend Northwest for their pizza and its generous toppings. read more

Just went in tonight for the second time and thought I should write a review as the people who own and operate this restaurant deserve it. Generally speaking, it is the positive interactions with other people that govern our perceptions, and in that vein I truly believe Northwest Pizza stands out. Although I ordered take out, the dining area was relatively full and appeared to be made up of mostly families, something which parents will appreciate. My order was brought out to me by a very friendly man whom I believe to be the owner, who took the time to go over my order to assure that everything was correct. The pizza's were delicious, the 1/2 order of Jo's is very large and could easily feed 4- 6 people, plus there are delicious crunchy bits mixed in that really put it over the top. The greek salad was very fresh and rounded everything out, and if you do order a tub o' ranch you will quickly find that it is not a misnomer. I think I can safely say that this will be our new go to spot on pizza night! To sum it up great pizza, wonderful family and large group set up, and most importantly, caring and friendly small business owners who deserve recognition. read more

This is our first time trying this place and we will definitely be returning when we are in Ashland! The garden harvest stromboli was excellent. The kids ate their whole pizza! The portions for the fettuccini alfredo and spaghetti were huge...definitely had left overs (yummmm). The gluten free crust is nice and crunchy, not soggy like a lot of pizza places. A group next to us had ordered the Joe Joes, and they looked so good my husband asked the people how they were and they ended up offering him one. We will be ordering them at our next visit. The people working (not sure if one was the owner) were very helpful, and even took the time to let us know what ingredients were used in the items we purchased (dietary restrictions). They have a pool table and some video games to occupy the time while waiting for the food, and at least 8 tvs that display multiple games at a time, so, if you are into the sports channels, I'm sure you won't miss your favorite team play. Usually we eat at Sauce when we are visiting...I'm glad they were closed for the holidays, or we may never have tried this place. read more

I had gone in to NW Pizza on occasion before the new owners - mostly for sports team pizza parties for my kids. Not terribly impressed, but did the trick for pizza after a soccer game. I've seen the renovations going on for quite some time, but just last night ate there with my family for the first time. WOW. What a huge difference! They've made all the right moves with the atmosphere and how they've set up the area for the kids to hang out and the TVs, etc. All of my kids (ages 8 - 18) absolutely loved it and I was able to hang out with the adults without being pestered by bored kids. But the food was really where it was at. Fantastic salad and pizza and an enormous pan of the best jojos I've ever tasted to get us started. And, it was very reasonably priced! Northwest pizza has just moved into the top slot in terms of my favorite pizza place in Ashland. We'll be back! read more

This review is specifically for Nikki at Northwest and the great service she delivered under stressful working conditions. The place was severely understaffed, her being the only server while we were there. We felt so bad because she was literally running around the entire place, taking people's orders, cleaning up, and ringing people up. But at the same time, very impressed, because she did it all with a smile and no complaints! The food was pretty good. We made sure to let her know that we appreciated her service and let the owner know as well. But I'll say it here too, because we were just so impressed and grateful for Nikki's awesome service during such a busy time. Thank you, Nikki! PS. Staff, give this girl a raise! read more

We stayed in Ashland last night and gave this place a try. They know how to make a really good pizza. Top notch crust. The gluten-free crust is pretty good too. Our group is a little crazy with special dietary needs and they did every backflip they could to accommodate us. I mean seriously, they were running things out of the kitchen to show us ingredients to make sure they would work for us (is the feta really goat or is it cow? yadayada). It seems like a husband and wife team - kudos to them for doing it right. Made us kind of sad that we don't live in Ashland so we could go there more often. Then again, I guess there are lots of times we are sad we don't live in Ashland! read more

Not sure which is better - the pizza or the staff! Our Non-Profit agency, Ashland Supportive Housing and Community Outreach likes to reward our staff with treats from time to time, and NW Pizza is the favorite! Staff there have been very supportive of our agency, from giving us the entire restaurant for a lunch meeting to agreeing to deliver pizza before they officially open for the day, all with a smile and no hesitations. As they frequently tell us, they like to support those doing good work in the community. So not only do they make awesomely delicious pizza, they are a positive force in the community as well! read more

This was my first time back since the change in ownership. It was quite different, and I liked it a lot better than before. I used to absolutely avoid this place, as the pizza was horrible. There are clearly big changes, including an updated menu with quite a few tasty looking options and the interior has been brightened and cleaned up. I really have a soft spot for actual pizza parlors, which have pool and old video games as I used to go to them a lot as a kid. I am glad this place is still here in Ashland and that the new owners are paying attention to the food. read more

Great Food, even Better People. This is one of the best places in Ashland for families. They love kids, and are very patient. Not only that but Morgan is actively involved in the community. The pizza is the best you're going to find in town, wings are excellent. And Their salads are great also. Great value for your money! I tell every one I know to come here. Morgan and the others are incredible. Not only do they make awesome, hgh-quality food (the salads are jaw-dropping), they do amazing things for the community, like Veteran's day free meals and just generally offering a wholesome family restaurant that is affordable with great food. Anyone who wants to say, "it was better in Chicago" etc. obviously a) loves soggy, doughy pizza or b) likes to complain about the fewer choices in a small town while enjoying not having 4 hours of traffic. read more

I've always heard great things about Northwest Pizza but had never ate there before. was out in Ashland one night with some girl friends of mine so we decided to stop for pizza and beer.
