It's a really clean building and I thought I would feel unsafe with the area, but I actually feel really safe stopping in to get things in and out of storage. The staff are really nice. I just added a second storage unit at the last minute during a move and they were so helpful to get me the extra unit right next to my existing one. I really appreciated how friendly they were, it made me feel more comfortable being in the building. I highly recommend the Happy Valley location! The 5x5 is a little smaller than actually 5ft, but the ceiling is super high, so it's something to plan for when you're moving your stuff in.

When we first rented here, our experience was positive. Unfortunately, that changed dramatically. After multiple rent increases, my partner and I drove all the way from Idaho back to Oregon just to move our belongings into a smaller unit to reduce costs. Shortly afterward, the rate on the smaller unit was raised again. In February, the office referred us to someone who agreed to remove and dispose of our belongings because we were running out of time. I left my storage keys with the office's representative as part of that arrangement. We changed our minds while driving back to Idaho and canceled the agreement almost immediately. We were told the keys would simply be held for us. Months later, when we asked for the keys back, we were told they had never been left there. Instead, I was asked to sign a Lock Cut Agreement stating that I had lost my keys. That statement is false. I, Jeremy Adams, did not lose my storage keys. They were left with the office's representative when the original agreement was made. I refused to sign paperwork that I believed contained inaccurate information. Since February, we've effectively been unable to access our belongings while monthly rent, late fees, and other charges have continued to accumulate. When I tried to resolve the situation, I was told the written agreement could not be honored because of how my name appeared on it, despite there being no dispute that I am the account holder. This was after days of not receiving a callback. What has disappointed me most isn't just the cost--it's the refusal to work toward a reasonable solution or take responsibility for what happened. I never imagined I'd be changing a 5-star review to a 1-star review, but after months of trying to resolve this fairly, I feel other customers deserve to know about my experience.

Ignore promotional pricing - once it's over they happily increase monthly rent by 70% of the normal rate. READ: PRICE WILL INCREASE ON THE 4th MONTH. This is consistent and likely an established business practice. Case 1: promo pricing was 50% off first two months. Large (intentionally nonspecific) unit- $136 "normally" with $68 as rate for promo pricing. Rented in June. Then, rate jumped by $88 to $224/month. Given notice in last week of September (25th) for November new rate start. After raising a stink they dropped it by $22. That's still $66 over what I budgeted. Case 2: Had to get a 2nd unit last day of move and didn't have time to go to a different place (believe me, I would have). A smaller unit at $42/months as "standard rate" (October '25). Promo discount of 50% for first 2 months. Notice received in December (26th) that rate will increase to $75 starting February. Again, over 70% increase in cost. And $33 above budgeted. Like clockwork. They claim: [*Warning - eye roll following reading their statement may cause pain*] "We understand that any change in pricing is significant, and we want to assure you that this decision was made after careful consideration. Our team is dedicated to providing you with the best possible storage experience, including ongoing maintenance and upgrades to our facilities." I watched this building get built. It's new. Upgrades..? No. Maintenance, okay but what kind of incompetence didn't plan for that in initial pricing? It's not incompetence. It's shady and unethical. Cowards. What does $100 get you every month? 2. They make you pay upfront for insurance at $12/mo that covers up to $2k. I suggest not storing items at $200 a month if it's all worth less than that. I gave my documents quickly. I was still charged (for first unit) and had to ask them to refund me since I was charged again. I got a second unit as noted - under the same account, passcode, email etc. They still preemptively charged that insurance despite my private policy being on file already. Needs more refunds again. Very dumb. 3. They have an online account (kinda) but it's limited in function to strictly facilitating them getting your money. You cannot see itemized statements. You cannot submit or view documents. You can update your basic info and payment info and see payment history (only total they took from your account so nothing useful). You must request actual itemized statements EVERY MONTH if you want to see what that extra fee is for. Only positives are the doors work and it's relatively clean. But it's new...we'll see how far their maintenance goes. Go elsewhere.

Anybody considering renting space in this facility would do better to make bookings on the website. I made reservation over the phone and paid $30 reservation fee. The lady I spoke with on the phone (who works the front desk) did not disclose the admin fee, that the discount is only applicable for first 2-months, and even though I originally requested the "convenient" storage space she set me up on the "saver" space on the top floor. Needless to say, moving all of my furniture up there was a big pain in the ass. All she had to do was give an extra 5 minutes of her time explaining thoroughly over the phone - I might have went with a different storage facility after finding out their prices but at least I wouldn't have had a bad experience.

They lie to you and say "its a one time thing" just to get you out of their store or off the phone. Avoid using this place if on a fixed income. Nothing but increases in prices once they get your stuff stored there. Shady business practice. If they're reading this, yall need to offer leases with fixed pricing so you don't alienate so many renters. Imho they're scamming people. STAY AWAY FROM WEST COAST STORAGE IN HAPPY VALLEY. Every business has operating costs. But when that increases, your clientel shouldnt have to pay for it. If someone tags, spray paints your business or even if a car drives thru the window or something, dont raise the prices of everyone so you can fix it. those are one time expenses that the company needs to absorb and pay WITHOUT JACKING THE RATES UP LIKE THEYVE BEEN DOING. on 3/1 our space rent will be more than double what it was when we signed up From $40 to over $90...for a closet. Does that sound reasonable? Not at all. Currently looking for alternatives
