The house special Mai Tai was decent, but nothing memorable. Overall, this place simply wasn't worth the hype. I wouldn't go back--hard pass.

I ordered a grouper sandwich (not fried), and my lovely wife ordered the Scottish salmon plate, which comes with potatoes and grilled vegetables. My sandwich came with coleslaw and fresh cut fries. They switched to fresh cut since my last visit, and this was an upgrade. My sandwich was great, and huge too. Could not finish it. Wife's meal was a humongous slab of salmon. The veggies now come on a smaller plate, but that's okay, given the size of the fish. Service was a tad slow, but like I said, we weren't in any hurry. Total tab was $100, with tax and that pesky 3% service fee. I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. It's not a place I can go every week, but when I can splurge, and have a taste for fresh seafood, this is the best around.

If it weren't for my gout, I'd be eating here a lot more often.

Sophia offers a fantastic $10 Happy Hour menu featuring cocktails, beer, wine, and five appetizers. The Potato Croquettes were incredibly light and fluffy, the Ahi Tuna Crisp was absolutely delicious, and the Nashville Chicken Bites packed great flavor. The Meatball Sliders were another standout -- flavorful and juicy, and actually held together instead of falling apart after the first bite! To make the evening even more special, the bartender heard we were celebrating our anniversary and surprised us by comping a dessert: the Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding. Absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Even better, our total bill came in under $100! For my second, I got one of their Valentine's specials which was essentially a Boulevardier made with a small float of mezcal on top. What an amazing addition to this classic cocktail! Truly, gave it added dimension, depth, and smoky flavor. I loved it. We also enjoyed their Valentine's dessert special, which was princess cake. It was a lovely blend of tart raspberry and warm almond--we loved it! The service was lovely throughout our experience. Get to it!

I have been to this establishment a number of times and i am sorry to say that it has gone downhill as of late. They have recently changed the quality of the food and it has been done so that the change is very obvious to the customer. The meat and fish are not of the same quality as in years past. Also the pricing is just outrageous. I understand that this is an establishment on the 'north shore' but a burger, chicken breast sandwich, two salads, a glass of wine, and a beer was 89 dollars. I am in the restaurant industry and I'm sorry but the owners cost on that meal for four people would be just around 20 dollars. 3 times the cost is reasonable but more than 4 times the cost is simply gouging. I will NOT be back to Norton's again. I will tell my friends to go elsewhere as well. read more

I was in last night and I don't think I will ever be back. Wine tasted like it was watered down. Wanted to have a good time with my boyfriend and watch the super bowl. Chips and salsa is NOT worth $8 and you guys don't even offer more chips. This place is a HUGE disappointment. Will be telling friends about my experience. I would of been better off going to BDubs would of got better service. The owners daughter is a NUTCASE, CRAZY, and PYSCHO! For a company to harass a customer for leaving a review for their poor service. Don't support a crazy family that doesn't care about customers. They care more about the drunks and their regulars! There is no place in Highland Park that a great meal is more of a guarantee than at Nortons. It always feels like Cheers in here and that atmosphere is created by the staff and especially by Jeff Norton, who is always asking how everything is and making sure that he and his staff take the time to make a great meal an even better experience. Nortons is our go-to restaurant and has never been less than 100%. read more
