Absolutely disgusting experience. Something was stolen from my car while it was at this facility, and I had to contact the Sheriff's Department. Deputy Alvarado was very kind and helpful, which I appreciated, because the facility itself took zero accountability. After reading other reviews, I felt validated seeing that I am clearly not the only person who has had a bad experience here. The item taken from me had both monetary and sentimental value, which makes this even more upsetting. It is beyond disturbing that people trust this place with their property and leave feeling violated. Even though the lady at the window was polite, this whole experience made the staff seem untrustworthy and dishonest. I would not trust this facility or anyone working there with my vehicle or personal property. I will absolutely be escalating this matter and will take legal action if necessary. People deserve to know what kind of business they are dealing with. Shame on this facility. P.S. We almost purchased two vehicles from this place, would have been our worst purchase ever! Upon examining the first vehicle the staff started to become extremely rude and aggressive and the same thing started happening when we moved onto the second. We found water damage on the first one and electrical on the second. They tried distracting us from doing our examination, when we weren't fooled they became very ugly. I get some cars will have problems at auctions. You'll come across some good some bad, but when you have staff trying to intervene like this it's completely unethical. read more

My friends car was repossessed and brought to this place. She payed the fees and completed the paperwork with the finance company needed to get her car back and all of that went smoothly. Then came the time to pick it up and thats when things got hard. She tried calling for a few days to get an appointment but they didn't pick up and when they did they just told her to either call back or that someone would call her back. After 3 days or so of this she finally got an appointment a week from then. Today I gave her a ride and everything seemed to go smoothly....... Until she got in her car. She had filled up her gas tank the night before it got taken away and when she got it back it was near empty leaving us to wonder wether they somehow took the gas out or if they were out driving it. They also went through every compartment and left some of them open and thing scattered all over the place. There were several things missing.She pointed this out to the person who handed her the car but they simply told her that she would have to file a report but no one gave her precise information as to where or how to do so. By then she was already fed up with them and was just grateful she got her car back so we just went home. I understand people are responsible for making their payments on time and have to deal with the consequences when they don't but things happen and they end up in situations like this but that does not give these people the right to steal from the cars and do it so freely because they know they can't and won't do anything about it. read more

I attended a GSA public auction on 21 January 2021 via the internet. I signed up on the site a month in advance. FYI, if you are a public bidder you will only be granted access the day before or the day of the GSA sale. The day of the sale I placed my bids with no issue. I was able to get a 2015 Ford Fusion well below KBB. The representative allowed me to travel down the next day to pay and pick up the vehicle. The paperwork process was straightforward and quick. My only issue was that it took me a while to find the vehicle on the lot. I was given the lot area number, but the vehicles were not in any particular order. The condition report accurately described the vehicle and so far I haven't had any issues with the vehicle. All in all I had no major issues and I would definitely recommend this auction house if you are a public bidder in the market for a GSA vehicle. read more

Lol , the company doesn't take walk-ins . Which i find stupid but that's just me. The recovery management people are beyond hard to reach . It took me hours to get in touch w someone . Even after just going up there the same excuse was "they're on lunch". what company has a 3 hour lunch? They removed my items and damaged half of them in the process , especially the candle I had in remembering of my late grandmother . I would hope no ones car ends up here because they have little to no respect for your belongings. But all in all the lady I did reach in recovery was extremely helpful and considerate. Have been to many auctions ,that sponsor the Federal GSA auto auction. This one scammed a car, sold in as salvage .. The original car set for sale w/ 33k and had 39k on it.. Sold as salvage inside job.. I guess GSA staff are not monitoring the Federal tax property as they should. Did not feel safe , with the purchase ,, sad because I have purchased and drove GSA auto via employment.. Terrible misuse of federal property or something went totally wrong. read more

I could just be a rookie at this auction thing but this place, as a business, is a disaster for any passerby. For starters, it's dealers only, so if you don't have a dealer's license or go with someone who has one, you can't get in. Even then though, you have to pay $10 to view the cars and the selection is not always at any standard. I will give them one thing, which is that their lot stretches about a football field and they have MANY cars. The problem is that the car your looking for at any given time is really difficult to find, so your standards better be low. I will however say that in its defense, I suppose, this would be a facet of it being tailor for dealers only. Security is....there. The receptionists and office workers are...there. And the dealers are....there. Lol. The only plus is that the auction guys, the ones who say things really fast and really loud are all pretty fit ;) read more

My car was repossessed and was taken to this car auction. I immediately took care of everything on my end and was ready to pick up my car just two days later. I gave them a call and was told that I would be unable to pick it up until 5 days later due to their appointment-based system. This is ridiculous. I've bought at least three vehicles from the GSA Auction at the Norwalk Auction over the past decade, and my family has purchased an additional three or four. The vehicles always seem to be well maintained, clean fleet vehicles. The staff at at NAA has always been pleasant and as expedient as one might expect when dealing with government paperwork. I don't think the deals are as smoking as they were 10 years ago, but I just purchased a clean Dodge Grand Caravan for about $100 over low blue book, and I didn't need to pay sales tax when I went to the DMV. Frankly, you're going to struggle to get a better deal on the street. If you do purchase from the GSA, here's a tip - the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) is your friend. Email the FOIA folks requesting service records, etc; their response has been less than I hoped, but far more than a Carfax report, and it's an excuse to use the FOIA :) Regarding the negative reviews I've seen - If you don't have a dealer's licence, don't expect to get into the non-GSA auctions. read more

It's not a 1 star for the auction but of the sellers here. People with auction licenses come into this auction, purchase a vehicle and resell it for more than what it's worth. Do NOT purchase buyer beware. Also they will have like 5 different people post for them on Facebook and with different cars if you're smart like me you can recognize the background of the auction. I purchased a vehicle from a seller named DirtCheap Sales. Red flag #1 he would not give me his real name until I told him I owned an auto body shop and I know a lot about cars. Second, he was overselling the car over the phone saying he doesn't oversell cars just to get the person to buy it because he "believes in karma." But as soon as I get there to look at it he did exactly that, oversell over the phone, which makes him a liar. He gave me a bill of sale because the title was at the "other office". I purchased on 10/2/19. Car was filthy disgusting and he attached the receipt he paid for the vehicle which was $2900 and tried to sell it to me for more. That same day, the check engine light came on and I couldn't smog it. It's the 15th and he keeps saying he will mail me the title which I've yet to receive. Sent me a picture of the title this morning and on the signature line says REPOSSESSED. He NEVER told me the car was repossessed. This is the worst purchase I've ever experienced and just like he said he believes in karma I hope he gets his. Also every listing I see with the auction in the background on Facebook I report and the listings get deleted. Do not ever buy a car from this place and/or people. read more

My 2008 Toyota Fj Cruiser TT was re possessed and brought to this location. After being released I inspected the vehicle I noticed that the TRD shifting knobs where switched out for ugly regular stock ones. Brought it to the receptionist attention and they responded with "you have to contact Toyota". After a run around of making phone calls the repo company proved with pictures showing the car being delivered with all TRD equipment. The conclusion of the problem was that Norwalk auto actions employees stole the shifting knobs and are now being investigate for theft. read more

Don't ever consider buying cars here because the people here are inconsiderate and unprofessional, we tried to return the car that we bought and put it in arbitration and they said we can't because it's within 7 days and we returned it on the 7th day. they will not declare the real condition of the car if it's flooded or or frame damaged. Just got our car back from this Hellhole. The release from our car was delivered to them June 28th. We were required to make an appointment for pick up, and the fees quoted were different than when we arrived. After endless calls and rescheduling we got our finance company involved. It took an additional week for our finance guys to secure an appointment. Let's talk about the fees! Norwalk Auction re-keyed your car and wanted to charge us $100.00 (we gave them a key). They don't charge storage for the first 14 days, after that it is $15 a day for storage. It took 2 weeks to get an "appointment" despite our efforts and avaiability. They charge an administration fee of $60.00, plus a nickle and dime here and there for the headache. All totaled the bill was $348.00. Thank you to City Loan who paid most of it, but even they were disgusted with the Norwalk staff and the rediculious way Norwalk Auti runs their business. To ice the cake on this adventure my husband (who was a mechanic for 15 years) popped the hood today to discover Norwalk Auto had done some unneeded engine work. They pull out our brand new gold seal battery and the safety case it was housed in, knocked a line loose for the cooling system lose, drained the gas tank, pulled the door panels off thus disconnecting a speaker and took the auto safety kit stored under the spare tire. The ONLY good thing I can say about this experience is the detail job they did was awesome. Our car was never even close to being auctioned and should only have been stored while paperwork was straightened out. There was no reason for any of the crap we went through. read more

these reviews are hilarious this place is a dealer auction but no reviews are bout that i would be upset to if I had my car repo'd but that wont happen because i pay my bills. The cars that are for sale are here for a reason not all repos, they have a lot of dealer trades that the dealer cant turn because the car has issues. The people that pick up their repossessed vehicles already go into the place with a negative attitude and most of the time they are ahead of their scheduled appointment than the person helping you has to wait for a release from the lender and that is out of the auctions hands. read more

GSA Norwalk Auto Auction was a complete waste of time. Very worthy vehicles up for sale, however the ability for online dealerships nearby to bid and monopolize the auction were never announced. The lowest price vehicle sold on August 1st, 2019 was in the $8,000 price range (or significantly higher). Requests for previous auction sale prices or bids will be denied and the member will enter the auction without knowledge of what to expect. This program is designed for dealers to purchase vehicles at a lower cost and then sell them to customers at an elevated rate. Most cars, trucks, and SUVs were sold to an "Online Bid" and sent off without confirmation of who actually bought it. This environment was very uncomfortable and was absolutely not a place to find a reliable vehicle at a low price. Very nice inventory, just not designed for those that actually want to own the vehicle for personal use. This was my first and last auto auction. Best of luck to you all. read more

I came here to get my stuff back from my repossessed car on 3/16/15. They did charge me a 75$ fee and I had to talk to a lady named Kelly I left the key to the car with her in the morning and got a call back from her around 4 to come collect the belongings. First off she is horrible to get a hold of I recommend you go in person to see her on top of the horrible service she gave me I also had a lot of my stuff missing from my car for example I had money in my wallet she gave me my wallet in the front counter not with my bags of stuff. I noticed I was missing some money not much 8$ but I had a dollar hidden under my ID they got that too. I tried to tell her I was missing money and she told me she isn't responsible for that or anything missing. I am missing some clothes, a work hard hat, and some other personal and work belongings. I was angry of course that I am missing stuff she didn't want to take responsibility for my missing stuff or even try to talk to the person that cleaned my car. As I was paying she gave me a really nasty attitude and reminded me that the car isn't in my possession anymore when I will get it back later this week. She got impatient with me and asked me to leave and kept looking outside the office window as she saw her worker a long haired guy with really big earing plugs came out. I was already kinda furious with the service I was getting so I took the belongings home to go threw the stuff (3 bags) as soon as I noticed more that a few things missing I called back and got a hold of kelly and she hung up on me after I tried to tell her I have more stuff missing that the money from my wallet. She is the worst person here to talk to about anything she is old white and pretty tall can't miss her first office to the right after entering the building. If you have to talk to her good luck because I still haven't got an answer from her about my missing stuff so I will proceed to file a small claim and take my chances. I don't recomend this at all. I had a very bad experience I bought a nissan centra $2,000 cash I drove it for only a week and then died. I called my mecanic and said the engine was gone, to replace the engine would cost me about $2,000 more. Dont rush, do your shopping properly. read more
