"Not your typical used car dealership"...they certainly got that part right, but not in a good way. I strongly recommend that buyers avoid 605 Auto. I purchased a vehicle from them in mid-March. The dealership claims its vehicles undergo an inspection before sale, but my vehicle had a leaking transmission bolt (which cost approximately $300 to repair), missing trim pieces, and a faulty radio. To their credit, they replaced the radio at no charge. I was told that my license plates would be delivered to the dealership rather than my home address. While unusual, I accepted that explanation and assumed the required paperwork would be handled properly. Unfortunately, that was not the case. About a month after purchasing the vehicle, I called to ask about the status of my plates. I was told they did not have them yet, but that someone would check with management and get back to me. No one ever did. Over the following weeks, I made several more calls and received the same response each time: someone would look into it and call me back. No one ever did. As my temporary registration approached expiration, I continued trying to get answers. At one point I was told their "plate guy" had the plates and they should arrive within a few days. When I followed up, I was told that was no longer the case. Again, I was promised a callback that never happened. With only a week remaining before my temporary tags expired, I contacted AAA for assistance. That is when I learned that the title had never been transferred into my name. I immediately contacted the dealership, but my calls went unanswered. I then sent an email explaining the situation and was told someone would follow up on Monday. Based on my previous experience, I am not optimistic that will happen. As a result, I am now dealing with registration issues and scrambling to resolve paperwork that should have been completed by the dealership months ago. The most frustrating part of this experience has been the complete lack of communication. Mistakes can happen, but repeatedly failing to return calls or provide updates is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after my fairly good experience with 605, I unfortunately have to update with a follow-up that has not been. Similar to another review, after emailing and calling close to the date of my temporary tags expiration, I kept getting the run around about when I could expect to receive my new plates and registration. After two weeks after expiration, I contacted the DMV and it turns out that they have no record of a sale or the registration and plates being paid for, no paperwork of transfer. This is beyond frustrating and the DMV has recommended I file a complaint so that an investigator can help me sort it out. OK, the plates ended up FINALLY arriving (three weeks after the temporary plates expired), but I had to really hound the dealership, calling and leaving messages, calling again. When they finally said the plates arrived, I insisted they send me a picture before picking them up because I couldn't believe it. read more

The experience here was nothing short of predatory. I went in ready to pay for a used car, and was told by Eddie that there was "a lot of paperwork to get out of the way." I was rushed through a digital signing process without any explanation of what I was actually signing -- no chance to read, no disclosure that it was a financing agreement, and no copy provided that day. When I asked Eddie the price "out the door," he said around $12-13k, but the actual contract they mailed later showed over $20,000 with added fees, warranties, and a high-interest loan I never agreed to. I never even knew my credit was being run. To make things worse, when I brought my $3,000 cash down payment, Eddie refused to let me count it in front of him, then later claimed it was short by $100. The next day, his manager (his father) conveniently "found" the missing bill in their safe. Completely unprofessional and sketchy. I also reported car issues right after purchase -- missing wiper blade, fluid sensor showing empty, and an untinted window that was supposed to be fixed. I was told to come back the next week, and only one thing was actually done. There's a pattern here -- look at the other reviews. I have had to file a court claim against the owner of this business because he lied through his teeth from the first moment I spoke to him, regarding the condition of the vehicle. In this case a black nissan versa 2019. Within one hour of driving it off the lot the check engine light came on. I called the owner of the business and he simply told me "jesus is with you". Ever since this moment I have not trusted this man or his business as far as I could throw either. Car has had innumerable problems since then, which caused me to put money into fixing the issues rather than making car payments. So far 3k in repairs. Giving some perspective, I put a 3k down payment on the vehicle and paid about another 2k toward payments, leaving me out 8k thus far. 1-Worn ball joints 2-warn shocks 3-Engine issues 4-Air filter was never replaced after 100k miles, was torn into pieces 5-actual frame issues on the vehicle itself. 6-Wrong sized battery, the battery they botched into the car was much too large for the battery recess to take, causing it to be disconnected while driving. Took me a couple weeks to realize this was the issue. Had to buy a new properly sized battery. When a friend who is a certified mechanic lifted the vehicle he had a shocked look on his face, I asked him what was the matter and he said "this car's been submerged under water, and not just for a short time". This was a couple weeks after I had the vehicle. Our conclusion after some discussion was that they likely purchased the vehicle at some auction for some low ball price and then tried to sell it to me for 9k. We concluded the car was not even worth the down payment. I had made. Then they send some "field agent" after me, who attempted to be buddy buddy with me, promised me another vehicle, and then tried to use unscrupulous methods to re-acquire this vehicle. Including blocking me out of my street, going the wrong way down the street to use "strong arm" tactics before I even established that it was him doing that (Either way it's illegal). I did not cooperate. I told the owner of the company, in 3 weeks, when I pick up another vehicle from a certified dealer, I will return this one, so it is no longer my burden. I will call the better business bureau and report this disgusting dealer to them. Everyone has families to support, what this guy doesn't get is how he's affecting other families and couples by selling them junk auction cars under false pretense. It's time he learns a lesson. If you have had a similar experience with this dealer file a claim in court and contact the better business bureau. If he improves his business model and becomes less shady and unscrupulous and sells vehicles that are as described, he deserves another chance, if he continues with his same shady business dealings, he deserves to lose his license to do business in the state of California. Whatever you do, do NOT buy a car from 605 auto. I was in a pinch and needed a car quickly after my old one died and after an exhausting day of looking my Dad and I ended up here. The cars on the lot looked nice for being used but there are hidden issues. I wish I looked at the reviews. Not only were the people here just generally incompetent and scammy-- they acted like children cosplaying as car salesman. I ended up taking the risk and buying a car from them only to have my engine light turn on days later. Part of the deal for my car was they would provide a key fab included in the price and they gave me one that was not functioning. I called and set a time to come get that fixed and look at the check engine light (they are over an hour from where I live) and when I got there they said the locksmith wasnt there and couldn't come in. Completely wasted my time. They looked at my car for about 5 minutes and said there was no issues. Since then my check engine light has turned on several times among other issues and they never got back to me about the key fab like they said they would. When my plates finally arrived they let me know I would have to pay $500 to receive them for a 2 year registration. I got them today and the registration is only good for a couple more months. They are liars, scammers and do not communicate with each other or the customer. My whole experience with them was laughable. Bunch of incompetent children running around disguised as a business. They wasted our money and time over and over again. I still don't fully know what is wrong with my car as new issues keep popping up. I don't even know the full severity of it but they were obviously not transparent. They disrespected my Dad and I and tried to take advantage of us numerous times. BUYERS BEWARE!!! We as consumers have the absolute right to have certain expectations, especially when purchasing a vehicle. I asked them if they can take the car I was interested in purchasing to my mechanic and they obliged. Turns out there were a couple major issues (100k tune up was necessary, evap leak, air shock module and air shocks). There were also a few minor/ intermediate things such as the DVD monitor in the back row did not work, something with the camera was glitching, the defroster for the back window was not connected/broken, it needed brakes. All these things were expected with a used vehicle, but in the same token these are repairs that need to be taken care of. When we first walked in it was mentioned AS IS. Okay AS IS. I wanted to know what that meant in terms of this used vehicle, so hints I asked for them to take it to my mechanic. So when it was time to make a deal I presented the issues it had and asked to negotiate. I gave them a price I thought was fair since there was going to be some necessary repairs. Anthony the salesman, was very gracious and respectful, so if you still decide to purchase a vehicle from this establishment after reading this review, I suggest you talk with him. Unfortunately Anthony is only the middleman, you still have to talk to the owner; his manager. When the owner came into the office, he was very abrupt like a person in sales should be, I get it, but when you come in to a sales situation you shouldn't be so condescending. Right away he wanted to educate me on the evap leak and other issues, saying it's not true and my mechanic was incorrect (mind you we had the complete report on hand). He proceeded to insist that his mechanic will fix everything, well that's not AS IS is it. I told him I am still interested in the vehicle, but I want it AS IS with a little discount off the top so I can repair it myself. He kept insisting that they would take care of it, that they already ordered the shocks.......I told him lots of times, I do not know you or your mechanic and would rather take it AS IS, so it would be my problen. He, the owner did not feel $3k was fair to them. I gave them plenty of opportunities to counter, but he felt it was necessary to still be inflexible. He chose the wrong woman. I will not be coerced into buying, if it's not under my terms (somewhat at least) I thanked Anthony for his time and I wished them luck on their sales. 1 star for the owner 4 stars for Anthony. The car was on CarGurus for over a year and when I asked the salesman how long they had it for and he said "oh about a month". Their pricing is if you finance through them. I really wish I had paid attention to the reviews of this place before having anything to do with them. I wrote a Google review for this business last month when I purchased my car from them. The buying process went smoothly and I thought everything was fine. I was wrong. Three weeks later, my car starts overheating. I take it back to them, they say it's a cracked radiator and they'll replace it. They give me a loaner car for the day since I'll have to leave it there overnight. The next day, I don't hear anything from them about the status of my car, so I have to call them TWICE to get an update. First call, the person on the phone says they don't know what's going on but they'll check and call right back. So after a couple of hours with no update, I call again and they tell me my car is ready. I make the hour and a half drive back to them, pay for parts and labor, and head back home. The next day, I realize I had left something in the trunk of the loaner. I call them and ask if they can grab it and hold on to it for me until I'm able to make the trip back out there to pick it up. They say they will and I thought that was that. At one point, I received a call from them while I was at work so I couldn't answer. When I checked and saw they didn't leave a message, I tried calling back. The phone rang for a full minute and no one answered. I tried again later, they put me on hold when I mentioned the missed call, then came back and told me the person who had called me was on lunch but they would call me once they got back. Big surprise, never heard back. Yesterday, I called again and asked about my missed call. Again, didn't know what I was talking about. I suggested it may be about my permanent license plates being ready to pick up, he says that's probably it and puts me on hold to go check. He comes back a couple minutes later and tells me he doesn't know if my plates are ready but they'll call me if anything comes up. (Spoiler alert: they didn't). Since it was my day off, I made the long drive out there to pick up the item I left in the loaner. Once I get there, no one seems to know what I'm talking about. They go to check the car and tell me that, not only had they never actually taken my item out of the car, but that they had just lent the vehicle out to someone else! They told me they'd take down my information (weird that they didn't already have it considering I PURCHASED A CAR FROM THEM) and call me when they have it. I'm frustrated at this point and decide to ask about my license plates. The boy I was talking to asks his coworker to look up my name in the system and I hear him ask if someone is logging new plates in the computer when they come in like they're supposed to. The coworker responds with "no, I don't think so" and just leaves it at that. I'm not surprised when they don't find me in the system (considering they just said someone wasnt doing their job), so the salesman goes back to check. He comes back with my plates and I pay the DMV fee for them. Thank goodness I had asked so many times about these plates! When were they planning on telling me they were ready?? How long had they been there with no one letting me know? As I'm driving home, at least I didn't leave empty-handed. However, my car starts overheating AGAIN when I'm on the freeway!!! I got a tow home and I DEFINITELY won't be taking my car back here since they obviously either missed something or bungled the original repair. Overall, the sales people seem very inexperienced and there is a complete lack of communication among the staff and management. No one seems to know what's going on and nobody follows through on tasks. I think management needs to get all the employees together and explain everything to them at once to make sure everyone's on the same page about how things are run. After two months, 605 Auto's own in-house finance people pulled the loan because the car proved to have too many issues. So, 605 Auto kept the car (after we brought it back multiple times trying to have them fix it), and on top of that, they never returned our deposit. This is theft! It's simply baffling that 605 Auto feels they are entitled to keep the $4,000 deposit AND the car. They claimed the finance company had the deposit, but when we made an inquiry, the finance company said that 605 Auto keeps the deposits. So now, 605 Auto just expects us to just forget about the $4K, while still not having a vehicle? Seriously? It feels like an episode of 'The Twilight Zone." I recently bought my first car at 605 and had a great experience. Daniel made sure I felt comfortable and was very straightforward about the car I came to see. I knew what I could afford when I came in and he helped work something out to get to where I needed to be. I ended up with the car I came in to look at (a great Subaru Outback) for the price I could afford! There was no uncomfortable haggling or negotiating, just honesty on both ends and no hidden fees or charges at all which was great. My experience here was nothing like the negative Yelp reviews said. I even mentioned to Daniel that I had been nervous to come in after reading bad reviews. He made it clear that most of the staff there is new to this dealership and that the atmosphere had really changed since these bad reviews had been written, which was obvious after interacting with him and other associates (Jr and Anthony) who were all very professional, kind, and not at all pushy.
