We needed a custom cake with only a week to find a baker and Nostalgia House Bakery pulled it off amazingly. Most custom cake bakeries want much more advance notice but Nostalgia House only needed 48 hours. The people at the bakery were very responsive to both my phone calls and messages via their Facebook page. Everyone at the party loved the design and flavor of the cake, Lemon cake with strawberry filling. The bakery literally said we could do any flavor so tons of options available to you. Arrived at the bakery on a Saturday around 10am and they had my cake ready to go and it was great. Also a fair price. I will say if you are going to this bakery looking for pastries on Saturday...go early. When I got there at 10 they were cleaned out. It's a nice space clean, quiet and cozy. Didn't really notice much seating though. read more

Had some time in Port Orchard and made a stop at Nostalgia Bakery to check it out. While making some choices I selected a breakfast burrito with egg and sausage. On the one hand there is nothing extra like onions or peppers it is loaded with eggs and tasty pork sausage. The tortilla was very good, not too thick but thin and tender. Even though I was hungry it was difficult to finish the large burrito. I would definitely come back just for the burrito. I tried a blueberry streusel muffin- didn't care for it, seemed dry and lacked blueberries. The muffin itself had a yellow cake like batter and the streusel lacked sweetness or flavor. I also chose a Carmel pecan roll. It was much more to my liking, especially after I warmed it up. It was much like my grandmother used to make. Soft, nice amount of topping. Finally I tried a mini sourdough loaf . Made toast with it and it was tasty, toasted up nice. I will come back to try some of the other treats they have- and definitely another burrito!! read more

Just stopped by this establishment looking for a dozen donuts for my co workers. I walked in and stated that I needed a dozen donuts. The counter worker said that she didn't think she had a dozen. She counted out 9. She then stated that she had a lot to do in the morning. I asked if this is a bakery. She said yes. I then asked why no donuts at 0600. She said we haven't had donuts in 6 months, where have you been? Then called me a rude assed bitch...hmmm....great service here read more

Nostalgia made my daughter's 5th birthday cake, and did an amazing job! The cake turned out great, and tasted sooo good! The price of the cake was great as well. Absolutely love going here. This place has better donuts than a major franchise that starts with the letter K. It's of hard to describe how these donuts just melt in your mouth. The staff is so friendly here and I have to say the prices are way better than even if you went to a grocery store I do highly recommend this place. It has a great atmosphere great staff and great prices. The filled donuts are the best. read more

I love this Bakery ! First off let's talk about the phenomenal bakers, artisans and staff . I always walk in there and yes there is usually a line , don't worry they always have more maybe not of the pastry you want but try something new ! It's just as amazing. They are so quick, answer all your questions take their time with you even though there could be a line they don't make you feel pressured . I always get a box and pick random items ! I am Always impressed . I also buy my sons cakes here since I truly dislike store bought cakes . I love going to Nostalgia they let you taste flavors of icing and truly make your dreams come to life for traditional cakes . The area is clean and very tidy I went with 30 Minutes left of their day and they do their best to have some pastries left . If not then then have a cold case that has yummy cupcakes and treats in there ! Cookies .. LARGE cookies too! They recently had to raise prices since they were cheaper than most , and was so thoughtful to let their fans know on social media but I will always support them and for the amazing work, devotion and determination! read more

This is the second year I ordered a custom cake with nostalgia! Found them on yelp and has some good reviews and cake looks great! 1st cake was Roblox cake then this year a Snoopy cake! Both looked great and tasted really good..the cake is nice and moist and it's not too sweet! My daughter loves her cakes! Thank you! Price is pretty good too! Custom cake was lopsided and dry. Must have sat in a fridge for at least 24 hours because the frosting broke apart when we cut into it. Did not appear to be made by a professional. I was embarrassed to share it with anyone. What a waste of $80. Also the muffins are too salty. read more

Kudos! I live on the Eastside but needed a cake for my Mother's 80th bday. The caterer I used recommended this bakery so I called and ordered. The product was just as I asked for most importantly delicious. The lemon filling and icing was delicate and sweet (but not too much). I may have overestimated how much cake I needed-but no one complained about a second piece the next day with a side of Mora sherbet. I must say it was just as good day 2. I found price totally reasonable for the great product. I must the employee that offered to carry it to my car was a excellent example of above and beyond customer service representative. read more

Wow!! I messaged Nostalgia through Facebook messenger to inquire about a specific cake I wanted for my sons birthday. They gladly took my order considering it was needed on Easter Day. We picked up our cake and it was what we asked for plus more! The design and look of the cake was perfect! We got a 9" cake and I was surprised by how it was fairly priced! Recommended by my sister who has ordered her cakes here for years. So on Friday I needed a custom cake in less than 24 hours. Nostalgia House said they usually need 48 hours to bake a custom, but they had several 1/4 sheet cakes (enough for 10 people) already baked they could customize. I asked what they had available and went with a chocolate vanilla marble. Next day (Saturday) my cake was ready by noon. I arrived and the ladies greeted me very friendly. Our cake was just beautifuly decorated, better than I had imagined. I'd asked for an American flag and they'd draped it over the edges. Very professionally decorated. I took it home. How was the taste? Wonderful. My party devoured it, noting that it was tender, light, delicious and sweet without being overpoweringly sweet like the big-box store cakes. Everyone went for 2nd and 3rd pieces. Although our Nostalgia House Bakery custom cake was somewhat more than a big-box store I now know why my sister recommends them for beautifully decorated, delicious cakes that will have your whole party complimenting how beautiful and delicious your cake is. Called for a custom shaped carrot cake and they were very accommodating even though it was almost too last minute of a request. They happily made it and my husband absolutely loved his custom birthday cake. I had visited before for their donuts which are super good. Everything they make that I've tried so far is delish. This bakery was probably the most stressful bakery experience I've had. I had emailed them to order my cake and they said they had placed the order. I then went in a month before my baby shower to make sure the order was in and see about getting a smaller cake as well. She couldn't find the order so I ordered the cake again. It was to be barely frosted with light pink. When my mom picked up the order from the bakery and brought it to my baby shower I noted the cake was totally incorrect. Once my sister in law went down to talk to them about it, they told us we were give the wrong cake and the owner ( or manager) proceeded to yell at the girl who gave us the wrong cake in front of everyone. What an unprofessional way to fix a mistake. The only reason this got 2 stars was our actual cake tasted great. read more

These guys use to be my favorite bakery hands down and there baked good taste great. Their decorating skills are fair. But their prices have become too high for the quality you get. I have used them for years but the last two times, I was either disappointed in their attention to detail, (on my kids birthday cake the colors were wrong); or shocked at the 25 dollar price tag on a dozen doughnuts ..... 25?? For basic box of doughnuts. I guess I should have asked but last year the same order... cost me half . I'll just go to a grocery store next time,same doughnuts but $8 a dozen. read more

I was in the area and had a hankering for donuts....simple Yelp search lead me to this bakery. It showed they were closing in a few minutes so I called to confirm. Excellent customer service on the phone....(it was 12:50pm) she confirmed they were closing at 1 but that I could stop by until 2, as they would be cleaning up. Thankfully I arrived by 1 and bought the most amazing turnovers....the dough was so fluffy and light....the French curler dough melted in your mouth and the cookies were perfect. I grew up in Port Orchard, and Nostalgia was always the best place to spend long mornings before school with friends! Nothing would put a smile on my face quite like hot coffee and a buttermilk bar. Now, I live across the state so it's a delicacy I can only have when visiting. Between you and I, their donuts are easily one of the best parts of visiting home. I'm not a huge fan of yeast donuts in general, but I can demolish (far too many) buttermilk bars. These guys know what they're doing and will not disappoint. Positives: The doughnuts are great, everything is fresh Negatives: They are frequently out of doughnuts. The hash browns were undercooked, as was the biscuit for the "Biscuits and Gravy". We ordered our eggs over-medium, and they were definitely over-easy (way too runny). Overall, they have great food - but when they get busy, I think they feel rushed. Id rather wait the extra few minutes, and have my order cooked right, then get an undercooked order quickly. I hope they can improve because I would really love to see this business stay open read more

Their donuts are great! I have one in particular I get each time I go there and it is the maple bacon donut. Imagine a fluffy donut based covered with spectacular maple topping that just melts in your mouth. Then on top of that is tiny bacon bits covering nearly every part of the maple topping giving you crunchy bacon in each bite. This is by far my favorite donut and more so this is more just a review for that donut. Staff is always kind and prompt when I have been there. This is a hidden gem and one of the better donut spots in kitsap county. read more

That being said, once we received the check, I didn't think it was particularly expensive. The portions were on the smaller side, though, and the food itself was heavily lacking. Overall, between the cleanliness, lack of service, long wait, and cold food, it was a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

It's an adorable small shop nestled near the Kitsap Convention Center entrance. The pastries and all the food is made fresh daily! They have the Hawaiian Bentos with spam, and the roll was delicious! I recently ordered a custom Wednesday-themed tres leches cake for my friend's 30th birthday! When we came to pick up the cake, it needed a bit more detail but the bakery staff were incredibly accommodating and jumped right in to enhance it. I'm so grateful for their dedication--they truly transformed it into something beautiful! The flavor was absolutely amazing; the tres leches was rich and delightful. Everyone loved it! My only suggestion would be for better communication regarding my initial requests, especially since I gave them almost three weeks' notice. Overall, I'm thrilled with how everything turned out and truly appreciate the effort they put in. I highly recommend this bakery for their delicious cakes and wonderful service! read more

Love this bakery and the staff is great. Down to earth foodie lovers paradise. stopped in this morning for a coffee and donut and yo visit their new digs. Everything was better than I remembered it. Had biscuits n gravy topped with eggs and an atmosphere that was a trip down memory lane into the late 50s early 60s. Location is right on Puget Sound bay with a little lunch park to the dude.
