So far, we have treated ourselves to the following selections: Focaccia Prosciutto Muffuletta, Mango New York Cheesecake, and the Focaccia Cinnamon Loaf (Vegan). They offer a Breakfast Burrito, Quiche, Japanese Curry, lunch items, muffins, and much more with the menu options changing each week. The owner is gracious, friendly, and willingly talks about his preparations. The ambiance is relaxed with display cases displaying that day's offerings. There are tables and chairs available for those people interested in eating there. They also offer catering services for events, holidays, and private parties. Open Thursday and Friday, 6am-1pm (or sold out) and Saturday and Sunday, 8am-2pm ( or sold out). We just walked into this shop a few days ago for the first time and are looking forward to this shop being a regular treat for us. The window lettering says, "Crazy for Confectionary", but, once a customer walks in the shop, they immediately see they offer so much more! It's a gem in Bremerton and worth a drive or an excuse to check out Quincy Square a block away or stop in before or after catching the ferry.

Finally today we got there and they still had a hand full of items. Got a couple different flavors of bagels and a almond pastry on twice baked brioche. Delicious! I spent $17 on two pastries ($6.50 each) and coffee and sat on the little bench outside smelling the sea air wafting in and listening to gull calls and sunning myself. First bite of the twice-baked almond-chocolate croissant - I was impressed by the moist sweet almond interior and the quality of the chocolate used. The exterior was not as "flaky" as I presumed croissants to be it was more like a Mexican crumbly pastry. Just outrageously decadent! Secondly, I had the rhubarb danish with exquisite lamination and layering of pastry. The rhubarb filling was perfectly balanced between tart and sweet, an absolute knockout. The Stumptown coffee was a dark relief as a foil for the rich pastries. This bakery is a GEM!

Both the Long John and Puffer were super old and stale, maybe 1 to 2 days old. Had to toss both of them after one bite. I was told the Gau was made on Tuesday night, which makes it 3 days old now. I even tried putting the items in the microwave (per the owner's advice) for 15 seconds and it still didn't taste good. I've honestly never been told by any bakery to go home and put their donuts and pastries in the microwave ‍ Why would a bakery even sell 1 to 3 day old items? Just donate them to the homeless or something BUT don't sell them for full price to your customers! I mean come on... I even reached out to the owner via Instagram and she came at me with all the excuses saying things like "I am sorry you're not happy with your purchase" and "I really don't know what you would like to do here." No resolution and/or refund was even offered. So disappointed in this place. I really wanted to like it too! Lesson Learned. I will NOT be coming back here.

Most custom cake bakeries want much more advance notice but Nostalgia House only needed 48 hours. The people at the bakery were very responsive to both my phone calls and messages via their Facebook page. Everyone at the party loved the design and flavor of the cake, Lemon cake with strawberry filling. The bakery literally said we could do any flavor so tons of options available to you. Arrived at the bakery on a Saturday around 10am and they had my cake ready to go and it was great. Also a fair price. I will say if you are going to this bakery looking for pastries on Saturday...go early. When I got there at 10 they were cleaned out. It's a nice space clean, quiet and cozy. Didn't really notice much seating though.

On the one hand there is nothing extra like onions or peppers it is loaded with eggs and tasty pork sausage. The tortilla was very good, not too thick but thin and tender. Even though I was hungry it was difficult to finish the large burrito. I would definitely come back just for the burrito. I tried a blueberry streusel muffin- didn't care for it, seemed dry and lacked blueberries. The muffin itself had a yellow cake like batter and the streusel lacked sweetness or flavor. I also chose a Carmel pecan roll. It was much more to my liking, especially after I warmed it up. It was much like my grandmother used to make. Soft, nice amount of topping. Finally I tried a mini sourdough loaf . Made toast with it and it was tasty, toasted up nice. I will come back to try some of the other treats they have- and definitely another burrito!!
