Tldr: it's a diner, don't go with huge expectations. We arrived in 2 cars and even though we told the host that the other half of our party was parking, they wouldn't seat us. Okay, that's the policy. However, someone walked in immediately after and said "let me go get my wife out of the car" and the host said it was fine. I did not like the hypocrisy. For the food, it's a diner. It's not particularly cheap like a diner, but not particularly expensive, benedict was $13 I think. The egg was over cooked and not runny. Hash browns weren't crispy. Silverware was dirty. The booths are cheap and you can feel the person behind you every time they move. Everything was just average. read more

Really good. In my family's opinion, the best Pancake 'n' Waffle joint in Williamsburg. (Which is strange, now that I'm typing it... Why does Williamsburg have so many Pancake 'n' Waffle joints? Popular with the tourist crowd, I suppose....) We've tried several of the competitors and this one has become our go-to. The menu is diverse; the service is fast; the venue is very clean; the servers are polite and eager to please. So why only four stars, you ask? It's simple: On a recent getaway to W-burg we visited NAPH twice and on both occasions something we tried to order was not available. One time it was (I think?) whole-wheat toast. The second time it was grits. Now I gotta ask: What Southern restaurant runs out of grits??? Neither time was particularly late; both trips were between 10 and noon. So my takeaway is that they have trouble maintaining stock in the kitchen. That's no reason to avoid them: They have lots and lots of options to pick up the slack. Highly recommended. read more

We really enjoyed this spot for breakfast. While vacationing in Williamsburg for a week, we stopped in 3 mornings. My daughter fell in love with their red velvet waffles. We also liked their banana pecan waffles and their French toast. We had them with eggs and bacon combos. The staff was friendly and we liked the decor, lots of funny little signs. A solid diner offering a wide variety of breakfast and lunch foods. We stopped in at noon on a Friday and we're shocked by how busy it was. A very good sign! The decor is cute and the diner is clean with lots of seating. My husband and I both had the Irish skillet. It was good and solid. Waaaay Overpriced for what you get. Hash browns were cold with the Greek omelet, which was 'just ok' according to my guy. The Irish skillet was flavorless and very dry. The service was very meh - slow morning and she didn't bother refilling water and seemed a bit put out to even be there. We really wanted it to be good because we root for the underdog and the family owned places. Unfortunately in this case we left almost fifty bucks in the black - 13.50 an entree and 3.00 a coffee. After a few days eating breakfast at some of the highly rated pancake houses by reviewers like myself, I dub this place as the best in taste, freshness, and presentation. My wife ordered the "It's all fruit to me waffles" and I ordered the "fruit overload french toast." We both looked at one another as our server brought our breakfast and it looked so good. We started to attack it, we both had a huge smile...delicious! The fruits were fresh, the blueberries were plump, strawberries were sweet...oh, you get the idea. I've been here twice in the last 2 months. On both visits to NAPH I was very satisfied with my food! The waffles are fluffy and delicious, the eggs were scrambled must right. They even have turkey sausage patties which is a big plus for me. Our waitress was the same both times. I don't recall her name, but she took good care of us. Her personality was a little dry, but she paid good attention to detail. Everything came out pretty quickly, within 15 to 20 minutes from the time that we placed out orders. The prices are reasonable and there is also more than enough parking. The hostess was kind enough to give us the local discount (10% off) which we greatly appreciated. Overall this is one of my favorite places for breakfast in Williamsburg, VA. Its fast, convenient, the food is good and it isn't far from the outlets either! I'll be back! read more

No surprise there that when I came across NAPH on Yelp I had to drop in and try some breakfast - more to the point, I came here for some pancakes. The service we received was fantastic; we were looked after from start to finish by a very pleasant server. We ordered a cinnamon pancake to share (warning: they are HUGE!) and an omelette each. The pancake was ginormous, and you really get your bang for your buck if you order that. Overly sweet for those that aren't "Sweet Tooth Society" members and aren't a fan of cinnamon, icing and syrup, but that's okay - more for me hehehe. The food is outstanding. We ordered the apple caramel french toast, cinnaswirl pancakes, and an omelet and everything was beyond delicious. The atmosphere and service was impeccable. Workers are nice and friendly and even thought the food takes a hot minutes to come out, it's so worth it. Only thing lacking about our experience was the quality of the coffee. I was very excited to see an iced coffee menu, but the coffee was very watered down and bland. The hot coffee was as well a let down. If you aren't big on coffee the other drinks, such as the sweet tea are great. Overall had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back again. read more

I visited today for the first time. The restaurant was spacious. It is great for elderly or others that require walking assisted devices. The hostess was efficient and friendly. The food was good, not phenomenal. Our waitress left something to be desired. She was not rude, but not too attentive either. I had to get coffee creamer from the vacated table next to me. BEWARE: TOURIST TRAP It certainly isn't just another Pancake House as its name would imply. It is a tourist trap set to rip off transient visitors to Williamsburg. Outrageously expensive, for three of us it cost over $90 for breakfast. That's more than we paid for a sit down dinner at a fantastic Thai restaurant nearby the night before. So for such an outsized price tag, you should expect gold leaf trimmed eggs Benedict -or at least well executed breakfast items. Not to be. Food came out quickly but cold. The Eggs Benedict ($17.95) was built upon on an English Muffin that was so stale that you couldn't get the provided steak knife through it. Canadian bacon was replaced with a thin slice of ham. The thin hollandaise sauce was cold. The big plate of Nutella French toast ($11.95) looked impressive, but was likewise served lukewarm. This breakfast and lunch place on the Richmond Road tourist corridor has less ambiance than a roadside diner, with fast turnover and constant traffic of new and unsuspecting tourists. Get 'em fed, get their money and move them out. Not Another Pancake House is a place to avoid, especially if you are on a family budget. $9.95 for two pancakes. $5.95 for a side of overcooked hash browns. $2.50 for one egg. Where do they get their eggs, from golden hens? There is no excuse for charging so much for breakfast. It's pure greed. And to add insult to injury, they solicit tips on the bill starting at 20% and going up from there. The service was attentive, but I don't appreciate places that make assumptions on how much tip I should leave. Notwithstanding COVID-related tip inflation, tips for meals customarily start at 15%. For superior service, I MAY CHOOSE to bump up to 18-20% on the food subtotal. But that's my discretion. These people improperly solicit tips on the taxed total. It is pure money grabbing greed perpetrated on an uninformed transient clientele for mediocre food on a road that has more Pancake Houses than most large cities. Consider this review as being informed. read more

Food was ok but definitely not what I was expecting! We went around noon so maybe it was just late since they close at 2pm???? Food wasn't fully cooked - outside on the pancakes and waffle were nice and crisp but inside was still doughy! They had run out of grits so didn't get to try those and they wouldn't let you do substitutions on some of the breakfast choices. I did like that they had a combo meal (which I got) that had a pancake, half a waffle, and a piece of French toast so that you could try them all! They just weren't that great! The food on the other hand was..... disturbing I had the steak and eggs and the steak was far from fresh. It looked like a piece of shoe and had an off smell. My son: "best eggs I've ever had in my life" My wife, after being unable to finish her skillet: "I just want to lick the sauce off the top it's so good" Only downsides were the hash browns need some work and the bacon was limp. It was also southern style or country style, the extra-salty kind, which may be unfamiliar or not to the taste of tourists (like us).
