What are the odds of that, right? Ami, why lie and pretend you don't even know who I am or what this is about when I have had calls with you, many missed calls from you, and you offered them $2,000 on text to settle the dispute? This just shows that you lie with impunity. How is withholding over $2,000 when the cleanings were done "paid very well and fairly"?! What bs double talk. You even had the nerve to tell me on text I started this, I guess by suggesting they have the right to an attorney and to sue you for wage theft, but don't seem to get that it's actually YOUR OWN fault for not paying them! Just pay people when they complete work! Get real, Ami. Your $2,000 offer to them, less than the amount withheld, isn't a serious offer, Ami. You don't get to not pay wages in California, the penalties are huge for doing that. You don't get to decide like judge and jury to withhold pay over a perceived contract infraction. Since Jan 2024 it is patently AGAINST THE LAW to have non compete clauses and tell people they can't do business in their industry because they stop working with you or have contact with your past clients, NOT LEGAL. Huge penalties on this of $2,500 PER INCIDENT (and isn't each client covered by this 'an incident'?), and the right to sue for attorney fees, so this is a terrible blunder because you opened yourself to paying their attorney fees! You owe waiting time penalties for not paying all wages owed within three days of separation, in this case probably around $30,000 (at $1,000 approx per day, for all days, for 30 days, 2 workers). In my experience waiting time penalties are cut and dried, you didn't pay them their wages and I don't see how you can get out of that. I have employed maybe 1,500 or more people over 35 years, and I would guess a legal case would result in a judgment of maybe $60,000 in various wages and mainly penalties owed if there are no punitive damages, (which seem deserved as well since the violations of law by the employer seem quite flagrant) and $40,000 attorney fees, that would be my guess for the eventual judgment against Ami, so I would guess a judgment in the $60k to $100k range. Ouch. Now I find out you issued a 1099 for double the wages for 2023, and won't correct that? That is so corrupt. Ami, why do you think an employer can install software on the worker's phone that tracks them 24/7!? That seems like a severe privacy violation, and who knows how large that judgment against Ami could be from that. Pretty substantial I expect. I think they will eventually collect any judgment as even if you declare bankruptcy I believe the liability transfers to you personally. What a mess, saying you are inexperienced isn't going to work, and on face many of these moves are very bad faith and abusive that we shouldn't even need laws to prevent. But since people like this employer exist thinking they can act like a tyrant who owns the worker, that is why we have to have these laws. EMPLOYERS HAVE TO ACT WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE LAW, and most of us can see this kind of conduct is plainly wrong. All this guy had to do was pay them the wages owed when he separated with them to prevent this. Since he invoked my name to hire them and I feel responsible for them, I even called and gave him a chance to make it right and end it, but he refused, hung up, and blocked me! Ami was given two chances to end this at a low level of cost, perhaps even just paying the simple wages he LEGALLY OWED IN THE FIRST PLACE. FAFO as they say. Illegal contracts are unenforceable, and expose you to huge liabilities. The tracking people with gps location 24/7 is so far beyond the pale, what can you even say to someone who thinks that is ok, to secretly track people who aren't your children? Totally outrageous, illegal conduct on multiple levels, so this is all self inflicted. It's absurd to say someone poached a client from you when that client hadn't booked with you for about a YEAR, which you did not deny, they are a FORMER client! You don't OWN the client FOREVER, or the cleaner, especially when trying to say they are an independent contractor, another problem for him by the way. THE EMPLOYER DOESN'T OWN PEOPLE, that is what this guy just cannot accept until a judge or jury educates him, I guess. Regardless, in California even having a non compete clause in this way is explicitly illegal, with various penalties attached. Any decent attorney will tell you this amounts to many tens of thousands of dollars in exposure, possibly $100,000 or more, and that is before punitive damages. I hope he gets an attorney who will explain to him he is wrong on all fronts, and should settle now, as the liabilities will just keep increasing with time. read more

What makes me anxious you may ask? Moving, always at the top of my list. I don't do it often, but this time it wasn't really my fault as a bigger apartment opened up in my building, and I got curious and toured it. Needless to say this apartment was checking all the boxes and I jumped on it. And this is where the anxiety started to build. In short order we got approved for this apartment and we then had to quickly pack up our current place and return our unit to which we received it. When it came down to it, I've packed and cleaned all I could and then decided to call in the big guns. I started searching cleaners through apps, but quickly found that for all the glowing reviews there were some pretty damning to truly have me pull the trigger. I then expanded my search and came across Not Your Average Cleaners. Yeah it was your simple average website, but I figured I'd at least call to see what they offered and more importantly how much they charged for their services. I called and they had a couple of packages I could choose from, it was really easy as I was driving to get bubble wrap to finish my move. I did have a window that they didn't make, but I completely get it, cleaning up places is hard AF (for me at least) and I had an internet installer coming through around the same time. The stars and the moon and Venus must have aligned as they arrived a few moments after he left. I quickly showed them the apartment and told them if they needed anything or had any questions to call me. They slayed this apartment. A couple of hours later I came to look at what they had done... brand new clean apartment! Surfaces were cleaner than I could get them, they cleaned stuff I had missed, I was floored. Seriously, it was so clean I took my shoes off at the entrance to not mar the magic these two cleaners performed. I know when moving things can get expensive, but if you have a little budget to hire cleaners to pick up that task it'll definitely lower your anxiety of having that to be on your plate. I had a terrible experience with *Not Your Average Cleaner*. I hired them for a move-out cleaning and received a quote of $630 for a large house with multiple rooms and bathrooms. I clearly informed their representative that I would be away for a few days and wanted to ensure the cleaners came on Monday so I could inspect the work. I even took numerous photos beforehand and sent them to the company to highlight the areas that needed cleaning, including windows and blinds. The representative assured me with a "100% guarantee" that the house would be thoroughly cleaned. However, when I returned home on Monday to check, I was shocked to find the house still dirty. They did minimal cleaning--only surface wiping. I had trusted them. When I called to complain, the company refused to fix the issue that day, offering just two hours of cleaning the next day, which was nowhere near enough to clean the entire house. I requested a refund, but they only offered $50 and then blocked me and ignored my messages. I had to hire another company, which spent 12 to 15 hours cleaning the house properly. Do not trust this company. I lost money and had to pay even more to fix their mistakes. A truly frustrating and unprofessional experience. read more

I wrote a review on another service and wanted to give this company more love. We requested a next day move out clean, which was a huge ask. Several other companies told us they usually get a few days' advanced notice and they couldn't accommodate our last-minute request. But Amie (unsure spelling) took our request, gave us a quote, and said we would have a team present and prepared the following day. This was imperative because the owner made a request to move up our inspection 4 days sooner-- we already had movers and cleaners lined up for the following Monday, but it needed to be done by the Thursday before. We ended up coming up with a very thorough move out cleaning checklist, which after we inspected the work came up a little short. After contacting Amie and addressing the shortcomings, the team came back and completely dazzled us with the results. The haze that was on the floors originally was gone. The dust bunnies left in the corners were gone. All that was left is a spotless house I am including some photos of the gleaming floors and corners. Once I entered in my request for info on their website, I almost immediately received a follow up phone call from Ami. He went over their protocol and services and answered all my questions. I was looking for a crew that had strict covid protocols in place and I was comfortable with what Ami disclosed as their process as well as that the same crew would be coming for every cleaning so that we did not have to worry about constant change of people. Scheduled a move out clean, after shopping around I felt they offered the best service for the price in comparison to other places which regard everything as an extra charge (cleaning base boards and the fridge for example.)
