Stopped in after brunch for a fancy coffee. Love the vibe and the ambiance of this place. The staff was very friendly. I got The Drink That Must Not Be Named. You have several options for the dairy or non-dairy in your coffee. I really liked that and some options that have never been offered at other coffee shops. I went with Half and Half. Cool and laidback coffee shop with yummy pastries and food! Came her with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our different drinks. We got everything from an horchata latte to a Red Bull cream. Corner coffee shop with eclectic vibe! I loved the selection of sweet eats and grabbed a chocolate chip cookie to go with my Sherpa Chai latte (with almond milk). It was such a cozy combo. My sister and I just happened to come by this quaint little coffee place called, "Not Your Average Joe", which is really nice and charming. Working the front counter was run by an awesome trio Abbi, Isaac, and Donovan who were all cheerful and very welcoming. The atmosphere is very quiet, warm and very inviting. We had two scones, blueberry scone and apricot scone Americano coffee and bottle water. Y'all need to come check out this place. It's truly awesome. read more

Came to "Not Your Average Joe" coffee shop in Midtown for the first time today and was surprised by the unexpectedly comfy interior. The vines of green plants growing across the ceiling, an eclectic mix of comfortable seating, and a variety of lights, paint colors, and fun art. The menu is coffee, sandwiches, breakfast items, protein balls, etc. I got the turkey sandwich and potato soup and both were amazing. My friend got an open faced roast beef sandwich which was also good. We also got a turtle latte and spicy chai which were good. The service was friendly. We took a seat after we ordered and they brought our items directly to us. After we ordered we found out that the coffee shop was actually a non profit that employs individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Eat great and do good. Really cute place that does a lot of pre social hiring of developmentally disabled people. I got a pourover that was just ok and then the 405 espresso which was a little bitter for me. I also got a terrible scone but that's on me bc scones are bad and I always forget that bc they look good. read more

Super love the London Fog from here. Not too sweet but very flavorful. The food is good. I almost always go with the spinach quiche which I had this week. I find I need to ask them to cook it 1-2 minutes extra. The French may sue me, but I want it BAKED (which I think they would call dry). I like that I can bring my dog inside and chill for a time before walking again. read more

I've come here a few different times and I think it's found my favorite drink. It's the jasmine tea! Don't get me wrong, I do love coffee, but the tea is so good when it's cold outside and you don't want something too heavy. I get mine with two packets of Splenda and I'm good to go! I like to come in here to study. There are a few tables and a variety of chairs to sit on. It's very cozy inside and I like the decorations. It makes it seem like it's someone house kind of. I haven't tried any of the food, so this is solely based on my coffee and tea experiences. They even have a walk up window, so there's no excuse not to try it. read more

My new favorite place in midtown. I mean, the staff was wonderful. William, our cashier, very consistent and kind! He was extremely helpful. My dad and I ordered a hot drip coffee, an iced matcha, a lemon poppyseed muffin, and what I believe is a scone. So good! The matcha wasn't earthy which was wonderful. The store itself is very laid back and colourful. I felt very down to earth and relaxed there. Absolutely recommend for anyone in the OKC area looking for coffee or a quick snack. It caught my eye on Yelp!! because I'm a huge Harry Potter-head and there are HP-themed drinks on the menu. We were just planning on getting drinks, but then the food sounded really good too. So I got a Drink That Must Not Be Named and a chorizo breakfast burrito, and the boy toy got a matcha latte and a breakfast burrito, then a blueberry muffin to go. It was all DELISH! Even if the food had turned out to be just so-so, I think I'd still give 5 stars on atmosphere alone. When we got there, the owner met us at the door and basically gave us a super warm info-mercial welcome telling us all about the shop and employees (they hire people with disabilities, and they were the sweetest and coolest employees ever). The little shop is super cute, with local art on the walls and a little gift shop full of locally made stuff (like soap, lotions, pickles, dog treats), bags of coffee, and shirts promoting people with disabilities and the shop. If you're a coffee drinker, I def recommend stopping in at Not Your Average Joe's if you're in the OKC area! read more

The service and coffee have improved. I've been coming back after my boyfriend has gotten me their vanilla latte and a sausage kolache. Their vanilla latte is quite good. But their Fall and Winter specials have made me revisit them numerous times. My go-to breakfast lately has been their coffee and a terrifically made sausage kolache from a local bakery. This week I had one of the winter specials called the 'Wise Men Chai.' Surprisingly, it is spicy and flavorful. And today, I had their gingerbread dirty chai called 'Filthy Animal,' which I don't recommend. It tasted off, or the milk was bad. My friends and i came in on a tuesday afternoon randomly and the atmosphere was amazing. the staff were so kind and welcoming, they let us know about their specials running and made sure we got everything we needed. Service was fast and efficient, also a service window if you're not able to step inside! I had a Turtle Latte (absolute must) and a club sandwich (not pictured) it was so good i didn't get the chance to! Kind messages and words of affirmation decorated the items in our order which made things feel so special. We loved hearing the story behind the brand and everything they had to offer. AWESOME!! Me and my sister stopped by for the first time after we were in midtown and wanted a quick bite. We knew that they had breakfast and lunch options to go along with the coffee or drinks but I was skeptical because I didn't know if it would be any good because it's technically a coffee spot. We were pleasantly surprised when we ordered the downtown club and the strawberry fields salad and they were great! This was my fourth time here and I wanted to give them another shot, but it'll have to be my last try. You can get much better coffee at a much more fair price at other places in the city. The only strength Elemental has is that it has a bit longer food menu than other cafes, but if you're paying more than $20 for a tiny coffee and a mediocre snack then you are wasting your time and money. Also, I don't expect you to yell a welcome or fall on your knees to greet me when I walk in, but the service here is miserable and always has been.
