Not Your Average Joe's has quickly become my favorite local restaurant. They do a fantastic job at this location keeping the restaurant running smoothly. The bread that comes with a oil that contains a red pepper flake and Romano cheese mix is an excellent start to every meal. The menu has changed a bit over the past few years and although they took away my long time favorite Tostada Stack it seems they have expanded their options. I usually get the penne all vodka with chicken and I ask specifically for the mustard crusted chicken. It's very delicious and reasonably priced. I have gotten a couple servers who seemed to struggle providing adequate service, but the manager Eileen is always there to pick up their slack. I will continue to come back here as I have a great experience every time. read more

I ate here recently and it was enjoyable. I ordered their signature mustard-Crusted chicken, which was well prepared and served hot, however the mashed potatoes and vegetables were cold. And, it seems they no longer dress it with Lemon aïoli. However, they did provide some when asked about it. Without it, the dish is too dry. What concerned me while I was there was that the food runner and one of the line cooks (who were clearly visible from my vantage point) were wearing their masks incorrectly under their noses while preparing food and serving food. I mentioned this to the management while dining. Yet soon after, when I looked over the masks had dropped again. It seems the kitchen staff doesn't want to observe precautions like other team members who did. I doubt I'll be dining-in anytime soon. read more

We have eaten at Not Your Average Joe's at least five or six times now and have not had a bad experience with food, service, or anything else. Burgers are excellent and any of the entree's I have ordered from the menu were fantastic. Service has been top notch every time we went. Also, one of the very few remaining restaurants that offer a free bread service and it is delicious!!! Great atmosphere and we have never been "rushed". Give it a try you wont be sorry. read more

COVID REVIEW- Outdoor patio dining. On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this was a "Meh-minus". It had been forever since we went to Not Your Average Joe's. It was not crowded yet we have had better service when it was far more crowded. The server was slow to come to our table. Did not present the best approach to tell us that they sold out of an appetizer. It came off in a snooty way. She also forgot the lemons in the water. The food was average.....no pun intended. I was reminded why we typically do not frequent here. The bread is always good but the rest was not even your average Joe's. When it first started, it was pretty good but now it is Not Your Below Average Joe's. That said, people in this area will always go to a place like this as the dining options are limited at best. This is the second time I've been to this chain, the one I went to before was in Burlington but I was excited to come back. The restaurant had a good vibe with very comfy booth seats. The service was very good and very friendly. The cocktail menu was small but they had a full bar so any drink could be ordered. I ordered the pomegranate passion martini that was very good! I went with my parents and the staff was very accommodating to my mother who asked for the chicken Parmesan with the penne alla vodka instead of the linguini. I ordered the chicken piccata and it was so good! The chicken wasn't dry at all and the linguini was cooked to perfection! I recommend going here if you're in the area! read more

I wish I could compliment my recent experience but due to the terrible service at the start of our visit we couldn't even bother to spend our money here. We waiting 10 Minutes as the restaurant wasn't busy at all. There was no greeter at the entrance. We saw two waiters eying us as well as one bartender. Nobody checked or cared to see if we'd be interested to dine in. Other patrons were even starring and seeing how awkward this was. We showed up an hour prior to close and were well aware the kitchen wasn't closed. Our money was just as good as anyones but I guess not at this specific location. I left a review on google and they deleted it. my family and i went a few months ago and absolutely loved the service & food. Decided to go back 10/26/24. My mom ordered a expresso martini ( she got one the previous time too and it was amazing) this time it tasted like butterscotch, she still drank it. i ordered the buff chicken wrap with buff on the side. i opened the wrap to add the sauce noticed not even the size of a chicken nugget worth of chicken in my 17$ wrap. i showed the server and he brought it to the kitchen ( i watched from my table) he then proceeded to bring the food back out with the other side of the wrap open and goes " this side has chicken" mind you i have worked in restaurants over 10 years and that food should have never left the kitchen. i sent it back and did not eat. Not once did a manager come over to talk to me, we had to ask for one as we were leaving, its been a week and I'm still horrified. read more

We usually LOVE NYAJ's but this time visiting on Mothers Day it was the most awful experience we've had here. With a party of five and it being a busy holiday for eating out, I made sure to book reservations two days in advance. We got there on time for our 6pm reservation and was told we would have to wait for a table because I specifically wrote for accommodations that we preferred table seating as opposed to a booth. There's a very physically large person in our party and could not sit at a booth. As we waited I saw that there was a huge round table with no one at it. I asked the manager why couldn't we be seated there and his response was it was for a reserved party of eight. So we waited and waited, then 20 minutes later that party of eight was a no show and the host seated us there. Hmmm... after all that waiting they couldn't clean the table? Sitting down it had crumbs all over it. Then it took our server 15 minutes to come over to ask for our drink orders. He came back, asked us if we were ready to order, and never even brought their signature bread w/ dipping sauce to our table. This is one of the many reasons we love going to NYAJ's for this complimentary bread, let alone we were STARVING from waiting all this time. I had to ask him to please bring bread. He brought app plates that still had food pieces stuck on them! Gross!! I worked in the restaurant industry years ago and I know this can happen only if the dish washer person is NOT rinsing before putting the dishes in the dish washer. I had to ask for more clean plates. Again, our waiter was not attentive at all. I don't understand, he only had a party of 12 next to us and another booth w/2 people parallel to us. My sister thought to give him some slack, she said he seemed new. I said, really?! Because I see they have the manager hanging around the hostess desk with 3 other young hosts doing nothing but talking, why can't he go around and make sure his customers are satisfied and have what they need? Our food came, not right of course, and had to wait for the waiter AGAIN, to fix two of the meals that were not prepared to how they were ordered. We also had to ask for refills on our drinks. And when I'm paying $3.50 for a Coke your damn straight I want a refill with my salty pasta dinner! By this time, we were annoyed at the screeching 3 year old in that big party of 12 and annoyed with our terrible service that we ate our food without a word, paid, and got the hell out of there. NYAJ's was always a place our family looked forward to dining at. With their diverse menu and what WAS great service (past experience). Initially we discovered it years ago when they had their downtown Newburyport, MA location and would drive an hour just to go there. But when it closed and found the Nashua, NH location opened up we were ecstatic. It was closer so we dined there more frequently. But after our Mothers Day experience we will not be back. A fun fire pit to enjoy especially in spring and fall. I have been here many times and never disappointed. I came here on this Monday evening to collect my 2 dozen oysters....supremo! When it comes to authentic eats, or even locally owned mom and pops, Daniel Webster highway doesn't have much, Or any at all in that fact, However, Not your average Joe's have surprisingly great food. My wife and I have been to this establishment many times and I don't think I have ever received A bad meal. The food is always fresh and the plating.. a masterpiece. Which , in my opinion, is a slightly surprising for two reason : (1) The other chain restaurants in the area are a sad excuse for food. They make my soul weep. (2) Not Your Average Joe's has vast options on their menu. From Italian pastas to veggie bowels and smoked meats. Normally this indicates a "Just pump out the food" mentality with little in the way of authenticity. However, This Not Your Average Joe's has avoided that with their amazing tasting food. For those two items I say nicely done. It is also worth mentioning that the bar tenders are always pleasant and timely. I will say that the drink menu needs updating and a more of a masterful hand. Then it comes to great craftsmanship on drinks, you will be disappointed. While there is not much in the way of comparison in regards to the surrounding chain restaurants, and even if there was, I would still recommend a stop in to the Not Your Average Joe's Location on Danial Webster Highway from time to time for their great food. read more

Had lunch there today around 2:30. Place was pretty quiet - there were five two tops of all women in the dining room. Nick was the server for all of them. We waited a bit to be greeted and a while for our food but our drinks were quick. A major pet peeve of mine, when dining out, is being referred to as "guys". And "guys" was incorporated into every sentence Nick said to us. And to all the other women in the room. Hi guys. What do you guys want to drink. Do you guys know what you want to order? You guys doing ok? You guys want some boxes? You guys want your check. Bye guys. Etc etc. It was way too much. The table that came in and sat behind us had some questions about the drinks: we overheard Nick tell them he had just started and didn't know much about the menu. He ended up making about five trips to the bar in order to answer their questions (which vs just making something up, is commendable on his part) but it begs the question of why a new, inexperienced, undereducated server was the only person in the dining room? read more

We were scouting good restaurants for a dinner with friends we've known for over 40 years, so it was almost like a special occasion. Well, yes. When you have that kind of friends, it is a special occasion. We checked on Yelp and Joe's came up as a great rated eatery so we decided to make a reservation. First time dealing with DineTime, and we found it a customer-friendly app. The only minus to the restaurant is its location in the insipidly tacky suburban sprawl outside Nashua with its overwhelming and dizzying number of box stores. Made me glad I live an hour and a half to the North. Joe's may be a part of a chain with its life centered in a place full of chains, but that's where the similarities end. But that's it as far as downers. The atractive store's facade is but a taste of what's inside. Modern, simple yet elegant, with the aroma of grilled food permeating the air half a block away. Our reservations were honored within seconds and we were seated in no time flat. Then a waitress brought over the scrumptious bread with the olive oil, parmesan cheese, and herbs as another was taking our drink order. No sooner had that been done, she took our dinner order. The food was delightful. The chicken potstickers were tasty and well presented. And my main course of grilled scallops was delicately cooked and accompanied by a succulent risotto concoction. Not once did we have to wait for our water glass to be refilled. Our drinks never got to half a qurter full until the waitress asked us if we wanted another one. Good marketing and good service... We returned to the Nashua location and I am happy to say that everything was excellent. We arrived on a busy Saturday evening, but were seated promptly and the speed of service was excellent. Few notes on the meal - Joe's currently has a Summer BBQ menu in place and I decided to go with the BBQ meatloaf, which was excellent. I love meatloaf, and I am hard pressed to find a place that does it better than Joe's. I'm not sure what exactly is different about the BBQ meatloaf versus the regular menu one, but it was super flavorful, the Gouda cheese was perfectly integrated into the meat, and the side mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent. I did also get the mac n cheese as the second side, which was bland, but not a deal breaker by any stretch. My wife ordered a standard personal pepperoni stone hearth pizza, which was good too. Our waitress Lorien was great, super friendly and attentive to our table. We'll be putting Joe's back into our dining rotation. The bread with the cheesy oil is fantastic! Soft bread and that cheesy oil dip is so delicious. The cheese burger was juicy and tasted fresh right off the grill. The pizza was amazing, as good as any pizza I've had in NYC. The chicken and shrimp dish was a little too sweet for me but it was very good. The desserts were spot on! Went for lunch on Monday, with a party of seven. We had excellent service from Brian. Food came out in a timely manner and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they had ordered. We enjoy the atmosphere, the opportunity to have casual conversation without having to yell and we even ordered dessert so we could hang out a little longer. Still keeping my fingers crossed that they stay consistent, but I do appreciate the commitment to provide good customer service. Usually this place is great, but not this time! First, there were no candied walnuts on my candied walnut salad. The ahi tuna on the ahi tuna app was almost an inch thick. Usually more is better, but not with raw fish. It was not palatable. Finally, the sticky toffee cake desert was rock hard, like grandma's day old biscuits you leave out for the birds. Wonderful chain in general with consistency of food quality and menu selection. This particular one opened in Nashua about a year ago in what used to be Pier One. The space is totally inviting with tall open ceilings exposing the piping and a color scheme and low lighting making for a relaxing and more upscale yet still casual atmosphere. It's definitely a venue in which I would want to head to for just drinks after work and maybe gussie up a bit more than the total casual look I'm used to donning. Ordered one of my new favs -- a flatbread with brussel sprouts and butternut squash. Yes, you heard me right -- brussel sprouts on flatbread. Oh, and carmelized onions, too. This is just the right size and so delectable. And, the bread and cheesy oil dipping sauce? Makes me want to lick the dish but I refrained. Normally, I'd rate it 4 stars. It is a chain, after all. But, the space is not your average Joe's space and not your average chain décor. This place with ambiance, food quality, price, and service deserves 5 stars. Can't think of a single flaw. read more

We're big fans of NYAJs and were anxious to try their newest store. As with all the locations we've tried, the decor is nice, and the servers and manager (Matt) are terrific. That said, the food here in nashua is not on par with Methuen or Burlington, the locations I frequent most. First, they aren't offering any special menus or other stuff like martini and oyster Monday's. I get it - they're new and don't need to stimulate demand. For those of us who know the menu, it's disappointing. Specifics: steak and cheese roll apps are just ok. Don't bother. Spicy tuna roll was awful; sent it back (no charge, and they threw in desert for free). Unfortunately, my favorite desert (peanut butter thang) was not as good and only half the size as the one served in Methuen. Bottom line, we'll try again in a few months if in the area but will stick with the tried and true locations for now. read more

I've been eating at Not Your Average Joes for years and I just had the worst meal there. It's never happened, even during the pandemic and I'm so disappointed. My family and I ordered takeout. When we brought it home I opened up my house salad with shrimp and right away noticed it had black slimy rotten spring mix. And I'm not talking a couple of pieces. It was full of it. I was so disgusted and nervous that if I ate it I would get sick that I picked out all of the shrimp and other toppings that were edible and used my own salad mix that I had in the fridge. There is no excuse that I had to do that. Where is the quality control and pride in this establishments food preparation? This was a $20 salad and to be honest, I could have picked up a salad at Wendy's for half price that would have looked and tasted better. Still love coming here!! I have be at this location several times and even during these troubling times you can expect great service and delicious food and drinks. I had the autumn sangria and the buffalo tenders last time I dined in the restaurant and both were awesome. I also recently ordered takeout and was completely impressed that my burger was cooked perfectly and was still warm and fries were still crispy by the time I got home. Went for lunch yesterday and being Valentine's Day it was not that busy. No specials for Valentine's Day either. Just monthly specials. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The bartender had no help, not her fault. We placed our order for Buffalo Caribbean chix tenders and the crispy southwest chix salad. We had to ask for bread. Got the bread and it was stale. Not a good sign as it's usually great here. The Buffalo chix was dry and had no flavor. The salad was good but the crispy chix was dry also. Asked for the avocado on the side but got no avocado at all. It's usually great here but yesterday was awful. Place is pricey too. An app, salad, 2 beers and a margarita was $85 with tip. read more

I went to the Nashua NYAJ after work on a rainy Tuesday night. I haven't been to a NYAJ in a couple of years, last visit was in Acton, MA. The place was fairly busy and noisy when I arrived here just after 5PM. The place is one big open dining area with a bar area in the center surrounded by tables and booths. I was promptly seated by a hostess at a soft booth along the wall. The waitress arrived shortly after to take my drink order and I asked about the Happy Hour specials, which is offered weekdays 4PM-7PM. I decided to start out with 2 happy hour specials including the Nacho Average Nachos ($5) and 3 Sliders (cheeseburger, mustard crusted chicken, turkey burger) for $2 each or 3 for $5 (note I was charged $6 for 3, sliders but I let it slide). The nachos and sliders were nicely presented. The nachos were a bit salty tasting, otherwise pretty good, consisting of nicely stacked crispy tortilla chips each with chipotle braised chicken & melted pepper jack, surrounded by avocado corn salsa. The sliders were very simple (on small toasted buns) each consisted of the meat on top of a tomato slice. The creamy dressing on the turkey burger was good. For dinner, I went with the Smokehouse Jambalaya ($16.99) served in a big bowl with andouille sausage, spicy linguica, shredded chicken, tasso ham, tender shrimp, vegeatables, and rice simmered in a cajun-spiced tomato broth. This dish was more like a stew and the flavors were very good and taste was pretty spicy. I also had jambalaya at the Yard House last week, which was also very good there, but less spicy and soupy. I had enough to eat, so I had the waitress box up my dinner to go. The box was the paper kind, not ideal for the jambalaya since the box became very soft and moist and I needed to transfer the food into a more rigid container when I got home. The service overall was very attentive and prompt. The waitress and the managers checked up on me to ask how things were. I was also given refills on the ice water tableside too. Also, the dinner check and an iPhone device (electronic survey) was presented on a small clipboard. I also had a gift card added to the check since I plan to return again to NYAJ to try more things out. I recall the Meatloaf I had at NYAJ several years ago was very good. read more

Was here for Dinner on Sunday. Good service the lady was patient and walked us through the menu. Food was not the greatest. 2/5 for the food cause The mustard chicken I got was burnt on one side. The chef was tooo smart, he/she flipped the chicken to coverup the burnt piece which means they knew it was burnt and inedible but still served it anyways.. BAD ETHICS !!!
