Went here for high tea and it was fabulous. I've been to other places, but this is the best. I can sit and not talk and just savour every bite of the food that we are served. The portions are a god amount. Personally, I would like to see more savoury items because there were just so many ( delicious) sweets. The scones, although delicious are also sweet so it's like there are two layers of sweet and one layer of savoury items, but aside from that the place was decorated in an Emily Carr theme and it was beautiful! I would definitely go back again. The servers were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful as well. I can't think of anything that I would change.

Winter wonderland afternoon tea place setting

I didn't sit in the restaurant proper, I was in the secret room behind the bookshelf. I love they had that! The restaurant is very chic and modern but when the bookshelf was pushed open you were led into a cozy Winter Cottage. All wood with 'fur' rugs across the back of your chair. It was very chic but rustic and cozy. It was the winter wonderland afternoon tea. I came for the first seating the room quickly filled but it didn't feel crowded. My server, I forgot her name and I really regret that, was fantastic. I was there alone and she made me feel so welcomed I would come back just so that I could have another conversation with her. Was surprised me the most was the diversity of the people at the tee. All ages, and there were a lot of Americans visiting Vancouver for the week having tea just like me The tea changes per the season hence why we had winter wonderland. The food was terrific everything I didn't have a complaint about anything. From the scones to the sandwiches to the desserts. I think my favorite was the gingerbread scone. It tasted terrific with strawberry preserves and cream Oh and I was leaving the restaurant had a buffet out with turines and Crockery all around. Definitely coming back for that and the afternoon tea

French onion soup - the bowl is deceptively deep. This is a huge amount of delicious soup!

My friend and I come here often for drinks and snacks in the afternoon, but I haven't left a review in a while.... We had several cocktails but the only one that I remembered to take a photo of was for their Chocolate Orange Fogata ($21) which was really quite excellent! It was not too sweet and quite boozy, a lovely drink. We also shared the charcuterie & cheese platter which was also good. We love coming here because the service is always professional and excellent, and the ambience is lively but classy (there was live music)!

What a beautiful experience to try the Afternoon Tea - Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. We came for their Halloween theme and they really go all out! Start in back where a bookshelf turns into a hidden speakeasy. The decorations are spooky but beautiful. We had 3 guests, one with allergies. A will note, they messed up 3 times so BE DILIGENT. Even when they confirmed that they had it correct, double check. The food was good and there were so many things! Expect leftovers. The tea selection also has a spooky theme which ties the whole event together. Cost is $75 per person. It is about the experience. Service was attentive!

Indulging in the festive flavours of Lunar New Year with a special afternoon tea at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's Notch8. From savory bites to sweet treats, it's a delicious way to celebrate! As we entered Notch8 was were guided by a staff to the back area towards a bookshelf door to enter a speakeasy style and greeted by the beautiful decor to celebrate Lunar New Year. We both enjoyed Gold Mountain tea with a unique of jasmine and earl grey. The menu: Scones: classic buttermilk and scallion (we both preferred the scallion as it was savoury yet sweet) Savoury: Gravlax cured in char siu sauce, roasted duck tart, jammy tea egg, curry puff and shrimp toast Sweets: walnut cookie, brulee egg tart, mango & coconut cake, five-spice chocolate cake and lychee almond tart Marilou took care of us and can't wait to see her again! There is still time to try this special afternoon tea until February 25, 2025.

We stopped in for a drink, appetizer and to enjoy their live music in the lounge. I was Wow'd; the place is gorgeous. The appetizer we had was similar to a deep fried polenta ball with a mushroom cream center, fresh Parmesan shavings and a bath of marinara sauce. My wife had a glass of the house red and she said it was great (which is unusual because we are from one of the best wine regions outside of Europe). I don't drink, but they serve some delicious tap water, our server brought us some tasty complimentary wasabi peas and beer nuts. The live music and everything here was fantastic! I highly recommend giving this place a shot!!!

The Notch8 Restaurant & Bar - Fairmont Hotel, Vancouver Absolutely outstanding -- highly recommend! JF ( Jean-François ) is an outstanding bartender -- be sure to request him! His service, attention to detail, and energy take the experience to another level. I had a glass of red wine (not listed on the menu and they won't share the name ) -- but it was incredibly smooth and delicious. My husband enjoyed a perfectly balanced Old-Fashioned served with a gigantic brick of ice -- beautifully done! They even serve snack nuts if you're not ordering food , such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere is elegant yet buzzing -- live music , happy vibes , and the kind of place where you just want to stay longer. We can't wait to go back! One suggestion: if they added goat cheese-stuffed olives to their martinis, they'd be 10 steps above the competition!

We stayed at the Vancouver this time during our little getaway. It was very rainy and cold, so we decided to have our anniversary dinner at the hotel. With the ratings on Yelp, I did not have too high of an expectation, but we were so happy with our food and the overall experience. I ordered the chicken schnitzel dish, and my husband got the pork chop dish with mushroom and pawns. Both dishes were very good portion and delicious, especially the pork chop dish. We've never had a pork chop dish with morel mushroom and prawns together. The flavors definitely matched and complimented each other. The service was also very good and they gave a slice of happy anniversary chocolate cake. We finished our meal with a cup of cream sherry. It was a good anniversary dinner. I recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

Come here for the beautiful decor and setting for an elegant high tea experience. It's located inside the Fairmont Hotel behind a secret bookcase that opens into the tea room down a flight of stairs. It's gorgeously decorated in different shade of pink florals cherry blossom theme. The tea sandwiches and desserts were not the highlight for us but the tea room and experience was fun nevertheless. Our selection of teas were delicious as well. I would recommend this for an Instagram and relaxing afternoon catching up with friends. Wouldn't have high expectations for the food though as it did not wow us at all.

We recently visited for afternoon tea and had a very nice experience. Upon arrival, I loved the speakeasy style door and the autumnal decor. The room was dim, but each table had a sconce for some extra lighting. I really enjoyed the way the tea menu all tied into the autumn theme. Our server did a very nice job explaining what everything was. My one complaint is he did not bring a timer for the tea or give suggestions on brewing time. Everything we had was delicious. We even got a to go box at our server's suggestion to take home the desserts we couldn't finish. I also appreciated that our server offered to take our picture when the food arrived. This was the third Fairmont afternoon tea we've tried, and as usual it was a lovely time. I'd certainly recommend this.

Amazing place! All the food is so delicious especially Beef Carpaccio and AAA Striploin.

Bravo, Notch8, for transporting us to a winter chalet themed afternoon tea! They really make this an experience to remember as you enter a tucked room in the back away from the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. She brought my daughter a few additional pinwheels that she enjoyed. It's a typical afternoon tea service with a variety of teas to choose from and includes a nice tray of savory and sweet treats. I treated myself to a glass of bubbly to round out a lovely afternoon.

To be fair, the place was packed when we got there at 11 am. And our waiter, who was a great guy and really hustling around that day, apologized for the long wait. In the meantime, we admired the classic interior. When the food arrived, we were happy with our selections. My wild salmon burger was juicy and well seasoned, and the accompanying salad was immaculately fresh. My husband's crab benny sported perfectly poached eggs atop crisp crabcakes. The hotel is a listed heritage building, and the diner ambience definitely reflects that too. Looks like something from the early 20th century, when people travelled by train and wore suits and dresses everywhere. The restaurant is elevated several steps from street level, which also means that the view from the dining room is definitely something special. Staff are very professional. No complaints. I had the prime rib hash. Basically poached eggs on a bed of aragula, hash browns, prime rib chunks, and hollandaise on top. Delicious. Definitely worth visiting if one wants to experience something from a bygone era. They definitely don't build places like these anymore.

One of the nicest things about the patio is that it has a roof, so it's possible to enjoy the fresh air without getting a sunburn. Our server was polite, cheery and returned to our table at great pace. She made recommendations to help us sort through the massive beer list, and also understood the menu well enough to comment on all of the food items available. The food itself has improved a lot from what I previously remember being available at CRAFT in Olympic Village. I had two and honestly wanted a third. It's made with Jameson, Baileys Irish cream, vanilla cream, and coffee, topped with whipped cream and coffee beans. Easily the highlight of the meal. I also ordered the Queen Bee pizza, which was cheesy, greasy, and solid overall. The jalapeño relish and hot honey gave it a nice spicy kick that made it stand out more than your typical bar pizza. Overall, this turned into a way better late-night stop than I expected especially since they have reverse happy hour. The well-seasoned hash sports plenty of crisp veggies (zucchini, tomatoes--both fresh and sun-dried--and yams) topped with a couple of perfectly poached eggs. I thought it was a mirage at first, but I walked up and touched it so I knew it was real. And it was exactly what we needed after a not insignificant amount of walking around Vancouver (we were touristing) and it was lunch time. Stanley Park Brewing is larger inside than it appears outside. With its outdoor seating and multiple public and private dining rooms its footprint is roughly the size of Rhode Island. (ok, maybe not THAT big...but it is expansive). Stanley Park Brewing is located not far from the entrance to Stanley Park so the views and the surroundings were all very beautiful. A tall clump of trees over here, a some flowering bushes over there...just lush greenery in every direction...and tennis courts. The entire area was clean and well maintained. When we arrived we were told there would be about a 15 (US) minute wait, but that 15 (US) minutes turned into about 5, as we were seated almost immediately at a table adjacent to the bar. The weather was amazing that day (about 72° F) so all the doors and windows were open so there was plenty of fresh air and a nice breeze. Our server arrived with cold water (muchly needed!) and gave us the beer and food menus. Congo and I opted for a flight of beers and the Smokey Island pizza because the maple candied bacon bits, charred pineapple, and jalapeño caught my attention. (Relax, people, it was personal pan pizza size.) For my flight of four I chose: SunSetter Peach Wheat Ale, Waypoint Hazy Pale Ale, Parklandia Hazy IPA, and Noble Pilsner. Each was very good with its own unique tastes and flavour palettes. Our food orders took about 15 minutes to arrive and the food was hot and accurate. The Smokey Island pizza was *Chef's Kiss*, while the SunSetter Peach Wheat Ale from my flight was so good I had to get a pint as well. Our server (Jordan) who was also the bartender. Jordan was knowledgeable about the beers and was able to answer any questions about menu without having to consult someone else. He also suggested the Smokey Island pizza, and for that alone he and I can be good friends. The entire staff was constantly in motion, whether sitting new guests, handling drink refills, cleaning tables, or anything else. Great teamwork all around. What started as a chance visit turned into one of our favorite lunch stops in Vancouver. Congo and I thank you.

I kinda had an idea of what I wanted so I started to order.. that is, until the owner told me that he recommended something else on the menu instead. I'd be lying if I said this didn't catch me off guard a bit and even rubbed me the wrong a little, mostly because I had my mind set on what I wanted but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted his recommendation. Again, I'll admit that I was a little pessimistic during the wait. I told my girlfriend that I hoped the Philly was as good as he thought it was because if not, I was going to be severely disappointed and my review would highlight that. I gotta say, great call from the gentleman. The Philly wasn't the most traditional I've ever had but it was a very yummy variation with nice textural differences that made it an abundantly enjoyable experience. The meat was cooked very well, the cheese was gooey, the fried onions gave it a great crunchy bite and that sauce was a scene stealer. All in all, what started off as a bit of an uncomfortable experience ended in one of our favorite dinner outings of our trip. The only extra detail that I'd like to share to the owner is to update his menu highlighting his personal recommendations so people lean towards those more. I like to take recommendations and ask for them consistently but maybe others wouldn't have appreciated it and could've taken it a bit out of context.
