    The two platters.

It was promising. Has good reviews. Busy spot. Fast service, seated without a wait.. Food was disappointing. We ordered A crispy chicken wrap and a turkey wrap. There was very little chicken and a lot of fluff on the chicken wrap with some orange things that someday would have been a tomato but not today. The turkey wrap had cold chewy coagulated bacon. Inedible. Fries were good. Hard pass on a return visit.

Its a busy place so getting seated in short time with a nearly full restaurant was a bit of luck. It took our waitress a bit to catch up and take the order but thats to be expected. The service was top notch with coffee refills a plenty. Ordered the classic breakfast and the colorado burrito. The burrito was not very hot and a bit skimpy on the green chili. The bacon on the classic breakfast was not crispy as ordered. All in all the service WAY outperformed the food on this one .

Lunch swing and a miss. We had high hopes for Notchtop - the concept is great and LOVE that there are vegetarian and vegan options (not just one item) - for that it gets 2 stars. Otherwise, we were mightily disappointed. Saturday, late June ~1pm - we were seated quickly enough. Took a while for the server to take our order (~10 minutes before she came for our drink order) and it took well over 45 minutes for our food to come out! They weren't particularly busy (lots of open tables) and there were a lot of servers. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen? Probably more disappointing than waiting so long was the food itself. Potato soup was "fine" but nothing special and way too much bacon. Three of us got side salads and every single one of us had warm lettuce. Not even room temperature - warm, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The turkey panini had way more mayo that should be allowed on a sandwich and the bread was barely toasted. We waited so long for our food we couldn't risk sending it back. As it was, we were there for so long we had to change our afternoon plans to go to RMNP because we rain out of time. Fortunately, we live only an hour away so we can go back. If you are looking to maximize your time in Estes I would not recommend Notchtop. Plenty of other options in Estes.

Menu, no pricing which irks me. I'd like to know how much something is before I buy it, call me crazy.

This was a very busy spot! But also, in a great area near the Stanley and other activities as well as lodging, so it tracks. We had a little bit of a wait upon arrival--nothing too long, so that was great. The only real issue we had was that there was no pricing for the brunch drinks. I don't think it's unfair to know the price of something before you purchase it, so I really dislike it when businesses choose to purposely exclude pricing. So, I simply asked the server how much a mimosa was, and she completely freaked out and started talking about other things, not answering my question, and said it was her first day. Ok, no problem, but still, how much is a mimosa? I mean, I'm not sure what that has to do with your first day; just say you'll go check, look in the computer, or ask a teammate and come back to me. Instead, she left and brought another server over with her, and he acted like he had no idea why he was there and said something about what I needed, and again, I repeated, I was just asking how much a mimosa was. He told me, and we could finally move on. What an ordeal for such a simple ask. If it was $15 - $20 for a little flute, I wasn't going to get one. It turned out the basic one was $9, so I was fine with that. I also thought it was very strange they served the oatmeal plain without asking if someone wanted sugar or honey -- how many people really eat oatmeal completely plain? Anyway, nothing to cause avoiding the place, or anything. Just another breakfast joint, in my opinion.

Cinnamon roll French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. Side of biscuit.

Great place for breakfast. Ordered the cinnamon roll French toast with scrambled eggs and three pieces of bacon. Side of biscuit. The French toast was so good. Not too sweet, didn't even need syrup with it. Fairly large portion, enough to share. They were very busy but we only waited 15 mins for two people. Very diner-like ambiance and friendly servers. Kept my coffee filled.

If you are in Estes Park in the am Notchtop is the place to eat! I suggest sitting on the patio as it has a great view of the mountains above the parking lot. Bring a jacket or blanket depending on the time of the year but even if it is brisk it will be worth it. The space is cozy just like the mountains. The staff here try to make it happen. At other places a group can be daunting but here they try to make your group happen. It is busy but people are constantly getting up and coming in. Alex was our server and he made sure we were well taken care of. He suggested items, checked in often, made sure things came out in a timely fashion and even showed us photos. The food is so yummy. They have plenty of hot beverages from coffee to decaf to tea to hot apple cider to warm you up. Everyone enjoyed their food, the drinks and the view. We will definitely be back. Don't hesitate

We had a delicious scramble and pistachio French toast and our server, George, was great. The place was very busy but the staff is like a well oiled machine. The coffee was good too. They have some nice outdoor seating with views of the mountains.

I've been coming to Notchtop for over 20 years and there is a reason for the line out the door! The food is always delicious and the ambiance is cozy with booths. They have a baked goods case with all the yummies from pie to cookies- they even offer many gluten free options! They have a bar with excellent breakfast drinks and this is a spot you can get everything you want! We had the chicken fried steak- so flavorful and such a big portion I only ate half and had the rest for lunch! The huns had the polish breakfast and enjoyed the unique polish latke. We split a pancake and had all the boxes checked- YUMMMMMM

Booked Chef Steve for our anniversary dinner at home and it honestly felt like a five star restaurant in our own dining room. Started with a beet carpaccio over whipped ricotta with pistachios that my wife is still talking about, then filet and lobster tail with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything came out plated beautifully and cooked exactly how we asked. He did all the prep and cleanup so we just got to sit and enjoy the night. Already planning the next one.

The menu is super diverse with so many things. It was hard to choose what to order. I heard CO is a green chili state so I ordered something with green chili. I had the Dragon's Eye Benedict 5/5. Instead of biscuit, they used pancakes. The pancakes were soft, fluffy and thick. I love the combination. Though I could barely taste the green chili. Elk Stew 3/5. There was so much peppers that it overpowered the taste of the stew. Service was alright. They didn't refill my water but asked my boyfriend if needed to refill his coke.

Their latte was fantastic! Corned beef and hash just delicious. We came at the right time. Not so busy. Service was great.

    Lumpy omelette

If you're looking for breakfast in Estes Park, do yourself a favor and stop by Notchtop. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict, while my wife had the Lumpy Ridge Omelet and the Banana Bread French Toast. Every dish was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can tell they take pride in both the quality of their food and how it's presented. The atmosphere had a lively buzz without feeling overwhelming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The coffee was excellent, but somehow our waitress managed to outshine even that. She was knowledgeable about the menu, genuinely kind, attentive without hovering, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. The only thing I regret is that Notchtop isn't located in my hometown. If it were, I'd be a regular. Whenever we're back in Estes Park, this will be our first stop. Highly recommended!

The wait was not long for 5 people on a Sunday morning which was surprising. The food was good and the service was good.

It was that good the first time that we decided to come back and do it all over again the next day. Parking is somewhat limited, but we arrived early on weekday mornings and had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is charming from the outside, with a colorful "Greetings from Estes Park" old postcard mural that makes for a great photo opportunity. Inside, the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, and both days we were lucky enough to snag a window booth. Our first experience set the tone right away. We walked in just as a server was arriving for her shift. Noticing nobody was at the host stand, she seated us before even putting away her personal belongings. That's customer service. For breakfast, I ordered a special that I can't seem to find on the menu now--an Eggs Benedict with pulled pork. I debated swapping the greens for potatoes but decided to be healthy. To my surprise, the dish was served on crispy potato pancakes instead of an English muffin, which meant I got the best of both worlds. The combination was fantastic, and honestly, I think Eggs Benedict works even better on potato pancakes than on bread. Every bite was packed with flavor. The next morning, I made myself try something different, even though I was tempted to order the same thing again. I chose the Cambridge Skillet: smoked ham and bacon with jack and cheddar cheeses over seasoned ranch potatoes, topped with two over-easy eggs and creamy hollandaise. It was delicious and hearty, although my first day's breakfast still edged it out as my favorite. I also sampled my friend's whole wheat blueberry pancake. It was enormous and surprisingly flavorful. I especially appreciated that many of their sweeter breakfast options come with eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. It's a nice balance and makes for a more satisfying meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were consistently excellent on both visits. The Egg of Estes quickly became one of our favorite breakfast spots in Estes Park, and it's definitely somewhere we'll return on future trips.

My Hogback Sour Cocktail was over the moon. Made from bourbon, lemon, simple syrup, egg white, and Cabernet float. The unique blend made a great drink. Nice crispy chips with beautiful fresh made onion dip. Next came the Pheasant soup. I wanted to lick the bowl clean, it was so yummy. The main course for me was the carnivore plate with elk, filet, sausage, and broccoli/shallots. The elk meat was the star on my plate. Having that next to the filet mignon allowed me to taste test them in real time. The Elk meat won hands down. Not even close in my opinion. The sausage was packed with wonderful flavors, but after a few bites overwhelmed my palette. My wife had the Creamy Potato Gnocchi Bowl. We both shared each other's dishes. She loved the Elk Meat. I really enjoyed the Gnocchi, and wished it could be a side dish to my Elk meat. Service was great with Elizabeth checking on us at the right times.
