They are quite sizable (not Costco muffin-sized, but not mini cupcakes either), with a good amount of topping. Got the following: Raspberry Lemonade Strawberries & Cream Bella Nutella Choco Latte Gold Digger Carrot Cake Service: The cupcakes were boxed and retrieved from the back very quickly. Ambiance: It was quiet, though several people were in the store. Nothing wrong with that!

And the reason I only gave it three was it's so incredibly dated. I've been coming here for years and years. Like. Y E A R S ..yall got the same decor. Same super dated cupcake liners. I don't mind paying $6 bucks a cupcake if the liner is a high end dark brown craft paper. White is so cheap. that dates you. Badly. Another thing ..yoir Chocolate cupcake needs help. Too sweet. Not enough depth. Add some dark or black cocoa..bloom in coffee maybe? Salt? It def needs some help. Keeping it the same dates you as well. Your vanilla is perfection. The choc not so much. Wish you had love doctor on more. It would do well. And bring back Hawaiian honeymoon. W out the nuts it will keep your price point down. No one wants that texture contrast anyway. And lastly pls for the love of all things cupcakeries, get rid of that 1990's pink and black contrast. Just no. Again. Totally worth the money if you know what to get (steer more vanilla cupcake) and these are just my opinions. Every time I'm in KC I get a dozen..ugly pink walls and everything xx

To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.

Very clean but small so there is no seating. Everything is to go. They have a nice selection of soft drinks and you can mix in different flavors. My partner hit a Diet Coke with coconut and lime. He got a 32 oz for $2. A 44oz for $2.25. A great price! I wanted to get a coffee chiller but they come pre mixed and I couldn't order it with less sugar. I tasted his diet Diet Coke and it was really good. We also got 2 orders of pretzel bites. We got regular salted with cheese dip and done cinnamon sugar with vanilla frosting. These were pretty good. I really love pretzel bites and these were not bad but also not what would make my list of great. You get a cup with a dip of your choice for $4.50 (or close). I also got a peanut butter cookie with Nutella on top. It was cold when I got it. It was good but I learned it is much better when it's warm because it sat in the car for a bit on a warm day. It was perfect and yummy. There's a large selection of cookie combos along with other sweets. There's sever more I want to try. You can also buy a by a half dozen or dozen. While waiting for my order, I did learn I can try getting an unsweetened tea as a base and then add what l life like and it can be made half sweet. I think I'll try it with blackberry and peach purée on my next visit. The two young ladies running the store were both very nice and helpful! I'll try to get photos on my next visit.

As a diabetic,I only get to eat sweets rarely or maybe monthly haha and I really take time to decide where to go or what to have, and I wholeheartedly loved Twisted Sugar. This is located beside the UPS store on 119th Street and when I went in the evening, I was surprised by the number of flavors they have to offer! I also noticed they offer different types of drinks as well (speciality sodas, coffee, hot chocolate etc.) I got a banana cream cookie (regular size) for my husband, and I got a cookies and cream small cookie for myself. It was a perfect small bite sized cookie for me. I like the fact that they have a smaller size options because it's great portion control for someone watching their weight or someone like me who is a diabetic and doesn't want to be tempted otherwise. Note: you can literally ask them to add ANYY topping on the small ones. Banana cream cookie - the cookie base was soft and had a thick layer of banana cream. It honestly felt like enjoying a tropical drink with bananas with buttery finish. It had a very strong flavor and my husband loved it. Cookies and cream small cookie - soft, creamy, and chocolatey, sprinkled with small chocolate cookie pieces and chocolate syrup. This flavor was definitely nostalgic. Both of these cookies were priced at around $4.80, and I think that's a fantastic price. They have a cute little shop with 2-3 tables to sit and enjoy your cookies with quick service but I noticed most people were taking their orders to go. A 5/5 for me, especially since they sell small, single cookies (any flavor).
