We got lucked out. Went there on a Saturday evening. You ever tried to make reservation you knew what I meant. Good things. Food was delicious. Our taste buds were in heaven for the dishes that we tried there. Arancini was a good starter. The sauce was what made the dish shined. The pizza lived up to the hype. You could tell upon your first bite. Hands down the best Neapolitan pizza in STL. Home made pasta also didn't disappoint. Starts out with a big sales pitch and hyped up food. Pizza was under done, waters never refilled and Baccala fish seemed to be minced with potatoes or something. Wasn't as good on our repeat visit. My husband should have sent his pizza back as it was undercooked. The crust was doughy and could have used another minute or two in the oven. I could go on and on about my experience at Noto! Wow what a delicious and feel good experience. I live in South City so it's a bit of a trek for me, but I had made it a goal of mine to head out here before the end of the year. They also recently just landed a spot on Top Places to Drink in St. Louis, so that really made me want to check it out. We had a concert at Ameristar, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity. I made a reservation about a month out (definitely recommend) since they fill up fast! We arrived at 630 and were promptly seated. The first thing I noticed were the awesome Christmas decorations, which were adorned on their year round greenery around the restaurant. It was so feel good and festive. I ordered the Hugo spritz to drink and it was made with super fresh mint. They have a great wine list and a great list of cocktails, as well as after dinner drinks. We ordered the burrata pizza for the table as an appetizer and it was fantastic. Everything was so fresh and delicious. High quality ingredients are definitely used. I also ordered the salad (I'm a huge salad gal) and I think this is probably one of the best I've had. The best part- it was $6 and the portion is huge! For dinner I had bucatini arrabbiata. Wowowow incredible!! Delicious pasta with cheese, olive oil, calabrese, and tomato sauce. The best part- a large piece of burrata on top! I loved every bite. For dessert I ordered an espresso martini, and my friends ordered the tiramisu and cannolis. The tiramisu was absolutely insane. We saw all the great reviews and were open to try it for dinner. The overall experience would have been better if it were not so loud. The bar and dining area are very close and the noise was nearly unbearable. My wife and I could barely hear each other talk. The food was average to below. The main issue with all of our dishes was clearly lack of seasoning. The dinner salad and main dishes tasted like there was no additional seasoning. When offering Italian cuisine garlic and basal are a must and we had a tough time identifying any of these flavors. My impression is there is a solid local group that supports them and from a "bar-food" aspect people may be satisfied. However, if one is looking for an Italian meal they might want to reconsider The Hill. read more

We had an anniversary dinner at Noto. The service is great, we sat right away with a reservation. The space is quaint and decorated very cute. The tables are a little close together, not a great place for a large group. We loved the risotto balls (ARANCINI), Noto salad and BUFULINA pizza. All the food is made in house and is so fresh and delicious. The CAROTA appetizer and MANZO pasta were good, but would probably not order them again. They serve homemade focaccia with olive oil. The service was great, fantastic! We really had our hopes set high for this authentic italian restaurant and we were disappointed. The calamari had a good flavor but was a little dry. The salad could have had a few more veggies incorporated. The artichokes were very hard and we had to take them out while chewing. Our entrees were ok. My husband had a pasta dish, which he thought would have more meat and the sauce was bland and the pasta was undercooked, more than al dente. My pizza margherita was good, there could have been more flavor to it. The negroni was delicious. There seem to be more campari than gin/vermouth. The ambiance was a little too dark and seem to be cramped. My husband is always cold said the temperature could have been cooler. I remember J Noto when they were a little bakery, and my mother would bring my sister and me in for cannolis and pignoli cookies before school at ASH. I moved away long ago, but always heard about the incredible restaurant that J Noto had opened. After many years of visiting home and being unable to get reservations, I was finally able to get a table for two for my fiancé and I. The food was great, the pizza incredible, great organic wine recommendation, and the dessert was even better (an incredible cannoli and a bowl of hazelnut gelato). My biggest issue was that from the moment we sat down, the waiter rushed us. We like to order dishes as we go -- not allowed, you need to put everything in at once. We were halfway through our arancini and both entrees were out. Midway through our entrees, we were asked if we wanted boxes, while we had food in our mouths and we were handed a dessert menu. Once we were somewhat finished with our entrees and ordered dessert the waiter brought out the check quickly. I was going to bring back cannolis and a few other things for my parents, but we weren't even given the option. If we're going to spend $150-$200 for two at dinner don't try to turn our table as quick as possible. This is just poor etiquette. They had mentioned eating things the "authentic way", well hell, I can tell you they wouldn't rush you out in a restaurant in Napoli. I can cook as good a meal as anyone -- going out is for the experience not just the food. Ultimately, I'm disappointed for that reason alone. read more

Stopped in last night for date night and so happy we did! Love having Noto close by and it's been on the list for some time, but after reading Ian Froeb's too 25 this week I knew it was time! The restaurant itself is relatively small- so definitely get reservations. Lots of parking. After a little bit of a wait, we were seated for our reservation right next to the pizza oven. I love that you can see the pizzas being made. They have an awesome bar too. Started with a small Noto salad and it was delicious. I always question why I cannot seem to figure out how to make these at home. I digress, for entrees we got a Burrata pizza and the Italiano pizza (added pepperoni) as well as rigatoni bolognese. The cheese was plentiful and I'm thrilled it was! Portions were perfect- we eat a lot so I see the pizzas as being more personal size, but like I said, we eat a lot. Everything was cooked to perfection and entrees came out timely. Check Noto is a gem tucked away in St. Peters - a breath of fresh air in a suburb loaded with chain restaurants. Drinks - we tried an aperol spritz, bergamot martini and a cocktail special that was similar to an espresso martini. Their entire cocktail menu is so brilliantly crafted with modern takes on Italian classics. We started with the artichoke bruschetta and arancini. The arancini was rich and creamy a perfect golden crust. I only wished I had more marinara. The artichoke bruschetta was creative, but a bit heavy and one note. I would have liked some salt or acidity to cut through the whipped ricotta and fried artichokes. Next came the Noto salad. It was so bright and fresh with roasted red pepper and punchy olives. The dressing was a creamy Italian I wanted to bottle up and take home. The complimentary focaccia was flavorful and delicious, I just wish it was served warm and not cold. For pizzas, we tried the Italiano and the Sophia. The Italiano had a wonderful crumbled calabrese sausage and was so light and delicious with the perfect char! It was everything I want in a Neapolitan pizza. For a non-traditional option, the Sophia is decadent and not for the faint of heart - blue cheese forward with fig jam, prosciutto, onion, and balsamic glaze. I look forward to returning to Noto to try their pasta offerings and get my Neapolitan pizza fix! read more

This was an incredible experience. The pizza was easily some of the best I have ever had. We saw the pizza being made in a brick oven in the center of the kitchen and all the dough rolled out there as well. The bartender Dylan was delightful as well, very good conversation. If I could title this review it would be A taste of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York via Naples, Italy. If you are a connoisseur of flavor and have a taste for good pizza there is a secret place that only a handful of people will find nestled on the quiet side of MO-94, in St. Peter's. If Lewis and Clark had been around they would have stopped at this place. This should be named, if not already, the true St. Louis style pizza. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and authentic Italian taste. Really good pizza. A caveat however, this is not a pizza joint this is a restaurant that you must experience by dining in. Unfortunately, I could not. The hostess was gracious enough to let me place an order for pizza. The vibe is dine in. The ambience was full of happy faces sharing great food and stories, a locals vibe as if they know about the best kept secret of pizza in the Midwest. I felt special. I ordered the Burrata and Italiano pizzas and was not disappointed. I would say if you live more than five minutes away do not place an order the pizza will be cold. I currently can't move because the food at Noto was so good! I couldn't stop myself from eating everything. I rarely make a visit to St. Charles since there are so many good restaurants closer to me in the CWE, downtown and Clayton area. We have been wanting to try Noto since we heard it open. It's small inside and they only accept reservations to dine in. I heard you have to make reservations pretty far in advance but we got lucky and made it Wednesday for Friday night. I think someone may have cancelled right before I checked because when I had checked Monday there was no availability. The inside of Noto is decorated nice with greenery on the ceiling. You can see the wood burning oven manufactured in Naples and you can watch them cook the pizza inside of it which is neat. It takes 90 seconds to cook the pizza!! There was four of us in our reservation so we were able to try a variety of items. We started with the patata and bruschetta. Both really good! I personally preferred the patata but I'm also I sucker for anything potato. The patata had a salmoriglio underneath (salmorgilio kind of reminded me of a chimichurri sauce). The bruschetta was mostly ricotta cheese and beets which complimented each other nice. For my main course I shared the gnocchi and burrata pizza, both 10/10. My mother in law and her sister got the rigatoni genovese and Italiano pizza. I think out of all 4 main entrees the rigatoni genovese was my favorite. It was loaded with braised short ribs which complimented the Parmesan cheese and red wine nicely. The only thing I would critique which is so minimal is the lighting. The ceilings are very tall and the light was yellow. All four of us were bothered by the color and found it hard to really appreciate the beauty of the food. My first dining experience at Noto was less than average. I really wanted to like this place. I would like to say that the current seasonal menu is what made me review it three stars. I strongly feel when they have a more hearty menu. My review would be a lot better. The one thing that is kind of upsetting is that you have to wait so long to actually find a decent reservation. I actually forgot that I made the reservation because I made it four weeks ago. When we arrived, we were able to sit at the bar and wait for our table which was about 15 minutes. It was FREEZING at the bar. Actually so cold to where if I was sitting at the dining table and it was that cold, I would probably leave. The place is super cute on the inside somewhere where I would visit quite frequently if it was a better menu. The bread was brought out just a few minutes before the food however, the bread was served very cold and with bland olive oil . It was very soft bread, but like it was refrigerated. I had the Manzo pasta. It was almost like a beef stroganoff, but worse. Something about the gravy tasted like cloves. Which is not what you want in a hearty pasta. We also got the sausage pizza. That was good!! I would go back for a pizza on this current seasonal menu, but nothing else. I will continue to look at the menu to see when it changes to go back for something more appetizing and I hope that I'm able to give this a better review . read more

Let me start my review by saying that our hostess was great and they were able to accommodate our group with an open reservation. They have an experienced mixologist crafting great cocktails. The ambiance was carefully curated and added to the experience. Our server Erica provided great recommendations for ordering! We went as a group of four and ordered: 1. Calamari Pirata - this dish was great! The calamari was prepared well and lightly battered. The dipping sauce paired nicely. Don't sleep on the fried leeks. These were honestly my favorite part of the dish, no offense to the calamari. (7/5 ) 2. Patata - great flavors and the crispy potatoes with the sauce were delicious. (5/5 ). 3. Nduja - hands down my favorite pizza we ordered. The sauce paired with the light spice from the salami was tasty. The pizza crust and prep were (7/5 ) 4. Sophia - fresh ingredients, great presentation, must like blue cheese. The SO loved this pizza. (5/5 ) 5. Bufalina - not to be confused with a Buffalo pizza, lol . These was a great traditional style pizza and tasty. (5/5 ) 6. Mezzaluna - I thoroughly enjoyed this dish! The light sauce paired with the local mushrooms and kale was refreshing. I would order this dish every visit. (7/5 ) 7. Rigatoni Genovese - I also loved this dish. The pasta dishes were both phenomenal. The short rib wasn't too heavy, and accompanying sauce paired nicely. Cannolis - while this isn't my favorite dessert, I suspect that their take on it is above average. (4/5 ) 10. This was our second time visiting. We got a variety of starters and pasta (no pizza). I absolutely love having an option like this out in Saint Charles. There aren't many other places like it. I recommend starting at Bacaro and getting a pre dinner drink beforehand. Both of them are decorated beautifully and have a warm welcoming atmosphere. Service is professional and attentive. We ordered takeout on Saturday from Noto. The restaurant is very small (and adorable) and they require reservations (they have a small bar that is walk-in only). We ordered a few pizzas, the Pappardelle and Rigatoni pasta, two salads and the burrata. The wood fired pizzas come in lined togo boxes so they were still warm after our 30 minute drive home! I love the crust (very soft and delicious). Toppings were fresh and inventive. We really loved the pepperoni with hot honey and Carne with walnuts and prosciutto. The house salad was very simple with a delicious italian dressing. The Chopped salad was my favorite out of the two we ordered. Very similar to a Caesar. Pastas were absolutely incredible!!! The Pappardelle was fresh and cooked perfectly with the smoked fish. The Rigatoni was rich and filling. The ricotta was perfect on top. Can't wait to go back and try new things! read more
