When the guys took bites of the food and said, "This is really good," I knew we were at a great place, as they never are effusive and typically, us wives have to ask if they like their choices. The atmosphere is nice, the drinks are good - the Thai margarita is a spicy stand-out - and the food is delicious. Portions are big and service is great. We shared the steamed Kanom Jeeb dumplings and the Moo Groob, the Thai version of chicharrón ... crispy yet very tender. My husband had green curry, my friend had Tod Man Goong Shrimp and I had Yum Woon Sen, cellophane noodle salad that had the most tender squid I've ever eaten. I'm sorry, but I forgot what our other friend had as my nose was in my food! We had been wanting to try Nour Thai for a while and finally made our way over. Parking was easy and free, which is always a plus. We were seated right away and immediately given water. The staff was very helpful and attentive throughout our visit, constantly refilling our water glasses and checking in on us, which we really appreciated. The menus are on individual iPads, which was interesting, but I liked that each item had a picture to go along with the description. I ordered a Thai iced tea, and my friend ordered a cocktail with tequila, passion fruit, tamarind juice, and fee foam. My drink was good and strong, and hers was also really good, nice and tart, which we both enjoyed. For appetizers, we ordered the crispy money bags and the chor muang dumplings, and both were delicious. The crispy money bags, filled with sweet potato, onion, and curry powder and served with pineapple sauce, had a great crunch. The chor muang dumplings were especially surprising, in a good way. They contain shrimp and pork and are wrapped in a butterfly pea flower dumpling, which gives them their beautiful purple color. However, I wasn't expecting them to be sweet. The presentation was amazing as well. We split one entree, which was the pad see ew with chicken. It comes with flat noodles, Chinese broccoli, egg, and a brown sauce. It was delicious, the noodles held the sauce really well. My friend ordered a second drink, which we can't remember the name of, that she didn't enjoy as much. She found it a bit too sweet and didn't love the aftertaste. Overall, we enjoyed almost everything we tried. I stumbled upon Nour Thai Kitchen during one of my food hunts in Oakland Park, craving something ethnic and flavorful during the work day. I saw it was Highly rated on Yelp, and in an area I pass through 2-3x a week but never noticed it! It's tucked near the railroad tracks where all the small restaurants and shops cluster--not far from the Post Office. The place has both charming outdoor seating and a stylish indoor setup with a decent bar, creating a relaxed, welcoming vibe. I grabbed a seat outside and ordered a few Thai dishes, including some beautifully presented dumplings that were a stunning purple, and naturally colored by ground flowers the server showed me that were in a planter next to my outdoor table. The presentation was really impressive--Instagram-worthy for sure. The food itself was excellent- for a decent lunch special it's banging. Service was friendly and attentive, and overall it's a pleasant spot if you're in Oakland Park and want a nice setting to have a casual Thai meal. We started with the dumplings, and they were honestly some of the best I've tried -- both visually stunning and absolutely delicious. I found out about Nour Thai through a TikTok influencer that highlights restaurants that are seed- oil free. Being a health conscious person and lover of Thai food I was very excited to try this restaurant. I checked out the website and the mission statement was both impressive and beautiful. I especially resonated with the line in the mission statement that read: "Every plate reflects our belief that Thai cuisine is more than a meal, it's an art form defined by balance, color, and emotion. So after my mom and I went to the beach we stopped by Nour Thai for the first time. It was a rainy day and we chose to sit outdoors. The rain hitting the roof covering was peaceful and relaxing. The servers were extremely attentive as well. The food was hot, spicy (like we like), and extremely flavorful. I ordered the Chor Muang as an appetizer and I wasn't sure what to expect. It was DELICIOUS. It had a sweet after taste that was really nice. My mom ordered the spring rolls and said they were very good as well. Nour has quickly become my go-to Thai spot over the past few months. Honestly, I think it was love at first bite. The food is amazing! I'm obsessed with the Chor Muang dumplings . My server suggested adding a little cilantro inside and it really brings all the flavors together. I've also had the salmon salad, which was phenomenal, and the cockle salad, which was definitely different but still worth trying. The tall, stocky built waitress/hostess was incredibly cold and came across as annoyed from the moment we arrived. Nour Thai is a lovely, intimate spot for delicious and authentic Thai cuisine. We came by here as another one of our favorite Thai spots has become way too popular (I won't reveal the name, but if you're a local, you might know it already). This spot has been on my list for quite some time, so we decided today was the day. It's the week of Christmas so we expected a bit of a wait. Our party of 3 was seated quickly inside without a reservation (although it was quite busy, so reservations during peak times are recommended). There is a nice patio for al fresco dining as well. The menu is on an iPad and includes some really unique takes on classic Thai dishes. I wasn't feeling too adventurous, so I went with the Pad Thai (Pad Me Isan), and my partner ordered the Panang Curry with chicken, and our friend ordered the Cashew Nut with chicken. Everything came out piping hot! The Pad Me Isan was not soggy and had a lovely tamarind flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the portion was more than enough. I was really happy with this dish. The presentation of the Panang Curry was beautifully served with its own pot and heating element. The Cashew Nut was also very delicious. I was meeting special people for the first time, so a quiet seat was important. Perfect place! Multiple members of the staff consistently checked on us to assure we had ever we needed, without being obtrusive. We started with the Money Bags and Chor Muang dumplings. Both expertly crafted and beautifully presented. I was not expecting a Samosa filling in the Money Bags, so the flavor wasn't quite what I was wanting, but they were delicious for what they were. The four of us ordered quite a lot, and we all loved the food, but I can only speak to what I ordered, the Green Curry. I was warned that the heat level when served, Medium, was quite spicy. While I usually order Thai Hot, I was sufficiently concerned by the warning and chose to start there. It DEFINITELY could have been hotter. I like spicy! We were served a spice tray also, but talking throughout the meal meant I never took the time to add spice. It was a lot of food, so I ended up taking half home and still enjoyed it later! Great place to go with a beautiful decor. Parking is in the front and easily accessible to the restaurant. Seating is inside and outside with lush green foliage. The inside walls are also painted as beautiful murals. We stated off with the Chor Muang, our baby loved the outside, but the inside was a bit too spicy for her. Their spices are fresh so expect a bit of heat with your dish. The soup's broth was poured in by the server which I love because the crispy wanton crackers didn't get soggy before it got to me. Now let's get to why this is a 2/5. 1) I've had other Thai spots in the area and this spot is behind all of them. 2) all the meats were hard and chewy. Chicken, beef and pork were hard. 3) every dish had the seasonings off. It was either too sweet, or had weird aftertaste of cumin or nutmeg or some other spice that doesn't belong in Thai food. No one in our party liked our dishes because of the weird seasoning. 4) tip options START at 20% and go up to 30%. This isn't a place you leave 30%?? This is just offensive to even ask. This isn't Michelin place. The owner is insane for that. Maybe the owner put it at that because servers were faced with low tips because the customers didn't like the food. Make a reservation, and if not, you'll likely wait and not get a great inside table. Beware: medium spice plates here are more comparable to hot nearly everywhere else. I wouldn't recommend trying hot unless you're able to take the extreme heat. Finally, a little pricey, but you can mitigate that during happy hour by ordering some drinks on special. NOUR thai kitchen and bar completely blew me away! Our entire dining experience from start to finish was top notch and I cannot wait to dine here again. We popped in here on a Friday afternoon looking to see how this place matches up to another Thai staple of ours and were delighted at how each dish was presented and tasted. Upon walking in, our first encounter was a lovely hostess who was able to accommodate us at a table inside prior to them having a large party show up later that evening. We made it in time for happy hour so we ordered the 'thai dumplings' and 'crispy money bags' to start along with a 'thai margarita' and a 'thai old fashioned.' The appetizers came out quickly and were served hot and fresh paired with yummy dipping sauces. To be expected, both items were spectacular and the drinks were cold, crisp and went down smoothly. Our waitress, I think her name is Bethany, is very, very good at her job and I attribute our great experience around her service. She knew everything on the menu and also gave us the background story of the restaurant, the owners and where they source the fresh food ingredients they use. She is absolutely wonderful and so detailed. We took her up on her suggestion to get the 'osso buco pad cha' and also ordered the 'kra pao' and 'chicken chiang mai.' The aroma, spices, flavors and textures were out of this world! Every bite from start to finish was extraordinary! It's also a really nice touch and attention to detail by adding butterfly pea powder to the rice to give it this beautiful blue/lavender color. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is definitely giving fine dining. It's also really cool that they use iPads for the menu so you get to browse each section with pictures of what to expect. Another contender for Thai food in Broward County! A lot of my friends have been visiting this place so it was time for me to try. First off, we showed up without a reservation on a Saturday evening, big mistake. To be fair, I completely forgot it was the weekend and the sun was still out so it was earlier than primetime dinner (lol, sorry again!). It is definitely the better choice to make a reservation. But we were blessed that they were able to accommodate us at that time. When you first walk up, there are plenty of outdoor seating. Robert, our waiter, provided us great service. We tried the Thai Tea beverage - and after one sip I knew the rest of the meal was going to be great. We started with the Papaya Salad and the Chor Muang dumplings. Authentic Thai can be very spicy, so we ordered the papaya salad mild and it was the perfect heat. Medium would've been too uncomfortable for me. The salad comes with lettuce pieces - I recommend wrapping some papaya in them! The Chor Muang was a new item for us. For me the dough was a little too sweet for my liking. But the filling was great and spicy! We tried to cut the sweetness with the lettuce bed it came with and that helped. Interested to try the Crispy Money Bags. For our main entree, we did our favorite Massaman Curry which comes with this yummy BLUE rice, and we paired it with our other favorite Crispy Duck. Probably one of the best life combos ever. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I really came to try the heart-shaped Mango Sticky Rice but we were so full by the end of our entree that we opted out. This place got wonderful reviews, so I had to try it. We went at lunchtime on a Monday and service was great. The place is chic and decorated nicely and you can dine inside or out. We wanted to try the purple pea flour dumplings but they contain peanuts and my husband is horribly allergic. I asked the server if I could get a half order for just me and was told it was not possible. So we tried the crispy money bags ($16) that were a Thai version of an Indian samosa. The crispy wrapping was delightful and I preferred it without the accompanying sweet sauce. We ordered from the lunch menu. A pork pad see ew---flat noodles ($14) and a massaman curry with chicken ($16). The meals came with a side of either soup or salad (we had one of each). The green papaya salad was much better than the soup (broth and scallions) and had a tasty dressing but what's with the raw string bean? Yuck. The spring roll was crispy on the outside and soggy on the inside. Because of all the warnings, we only got a one-star spice level. The curry could have gone up a step and the noodles did not have any spice added to them. The blue rice was fun to look at but was bland. While the meals were decent, we did not think they were spectacular. Admittedly, we just returned from Thailand. So, maybe we were expecting too much? The appetizers were 30 percent off during happy hour. I was there at 5. They are much pricier than expected and server forgot to apply the discount at the end so I reminded him. I asked about the ingredients as there was something I was not familiar with inside the spring roll. Neither of the two employees had any idea. There was a large piece of something black. They insisted it was a spice like parsley but they didn't know what it was called. After eating it , i asked could it be a mushroom as it was a bit tough. It was in fact a black mushroom. I googled black mushroom. It is a healthy mushroom. I also tried the blue rice just because it's pretty. I took the rest of my food to go. I wish he had put the rice in plate with my ginger chicken as the juices from my dish spilled out of the styrofoam container into the bag and made a mess in my car and with the other containers. The owner and head chef are both from the same area of northern Thailand which means we get to experience the flavors of northern Thai instead of the southern regions like most thai restaurants.
