It felt like a southern cafe with a relaxed vibe and not overly decorated. Most of the menu were comfort foods at decent prices. Sat at the coffee counter and ordered the Tomato Blue Cheese & Bacon Soup. Noticed that the waitress still used an old school method of handwriting my order on a pad. Upon request the waitress gave me extra bacon pieces to float on top of the soup. Every spoonful provided a blast of extrordinary flavor. The tomato, blue cheese and garlic was great but the bacon flavor made the soup stand out. The gender neutral bathroom was clean and very basic with one nice flower wall painting.

Stopped in for lunch and what a quaint little place! Service was fast and they were so attentive to every need. And the food...unbelievably fresh and delicious! Tomato soup with Gorgonzola and bacon, fried green tomatoes and the short rib sandwich (without the bread) made for a delicious lunch. I highly recommend but I hope not too many people flood this place because I don't want to get shut out next time I go, lol.

I found a new favorite spot in Ft Lauderdale. Atmosphere was very cozy. Our server I apologize I didn't catch her name but she had beautiful eyes, sweet smile & was soo helpful I must say everyone was super friendly The food was absolutely fresh & delicious. They offer soo many yummy options it was hard to pick. This will be one of our go to spots & I will definitely recommend. We were hungry but I managed to squeeze in some pics

Good food in generous portions, lovely service and quaint ambiance. Closest thing to remembering comfort food at grandmas and taking leftovers home.

Good for lunch! It's an older crowd. Good burger, good wedge salad. Service was fine. Comfort food is their specialty.

I let myself eat fried chicken only once a year. It's not the healthiest, but it tastes so good! I always go to The Mason Jar for fried chicken. It's a 5 star, no debate! I have Aunt Bee's fried chicken recipe, but frankly, The Mason Jar does it better. It's flaky, very moist, not overly greasy and is a very large portion because they give you BOTH sides of the breast. Fantastic! The white country gravy is thick and warm. It's nicely flavored with a little nutmeg. My two sides were brussel sprouts and Mac and Cheese. The brussels were tender, light and flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was really nice with a white cheese. Really good sides! The wine list is nice. The decor is cute like grandma's house. The servers are wonderfully sweet ladies who love their jobs. It shows. There is little staff turnover at this place. Prices are extremely reasonable. Other dishes are great here too. But you have to try the fried chicken breast at least once!!

This is a lovely "feel at home" type of restaurant. The staff is experienced and attentive. Make a reservation to ensure a table. We went on Monday (federal holiday) and the place was packed and busily both at lunch and dinner. The food is well prepared and seasoned with generous serving. We ate some much we had no room for dessert! We will definitely return and work our way through the menu! The parking area is ample and close to the front door.

Great food, service and ambiance. Chicken pot pie was delicious with lots of chicken, vegetables, gravy and a tasty crust. The waitress was attentive. The ambiance is quiet and appealing.

Our Mother's Day Eve dinner was exactly how I envisioned...low key & casual with people who love to break bread. Located at Federal/Oakland Park, the Mason Jar folks are serving up some serious cuisine at dare I say modest prices. It's not glitzy or glamorous instead quaint & cozy, providing free parking and table/booth seating. We got the 5:30pm opening reservation. This is a no-nonsense type of restaurant, where everything's made from scratch while focusing on comfort food. To be clear, they are not re-inventing classics, rather they are executing tradition. The 4 of us enjoyed caesar salad, french onion soup and they had me at mushroom which was the soup du jour. Our mains: light & bright pistachio crusted salmon w/tangerine beurre blanc, hearty short ribs, savory rack of lamb, and the blackboard special pork osso bucco. All the entrees were fork tender bites of goodness and each came with 2 complimenting sides so we picked mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, shoe string fries, grilled asparagus, green beans, brussel sprouts. It's inspiring to see how deserved they are of their 15yr success with many more years to come, undoubtedly by the support of their faithful fans and connections with their novice newbies like us.

They have a good amount of seating both inside and out, but it was pretty busy inside when we showed up. Service was very friendly the entire night and our food didn't take long to come out. I shared the turkey meatballs and jalapeño corn muffins. The meatballs were just okay; I should've realized when it said "contains nuts," that it would be a plant-based meatball. But I thought it was just a turkey meatball, so that was a little disappointing. I should've asked about it before ordering. However, the corn muffins were delicious and the perfect small fish for both savory and sweet. Overall, a nice visit to this local spot.

It almost disappears among the restaurants across from the Galleria Mall. Step inside, though, and you're transported into one of South Florida's true culinary treasures, led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Allen Susser. The tableside Caesar salad is both dinner and a performance. Fresh, flavorful, and prepared right in front of you, it's worth ordering for the experience alone. The standout of the evening was the Cabernet-braised short rib. So tender it practically melts with the touch of a fork, perfectly seasoned, and a dish that reminds you why Chef Allen has earned such an outstanding reputation. As if the dinner wasn't enough, the night continued with one of South Florida's best-kept secrets. Walk through an unassuming set of double doors, head upstairs, and you'll find a simple lobby with a large red door tucked into the corner.
