Absolutely amazing burgers, gyros, and pastries. My kids love the burgers they shoveled all the snow and cleared all the cars once I promised them burgers from nova grill. And we live at least 10 miles away. More than just great flavor, texture, and presentation of the food but also great customer service. The pastries are almost dry particularly baklava and the one with the white powdered sugar. Also the boardwalk style fries are awesome. Nova Mediterranean Grill is an airy, inviting space near Villanova University. The format is similar to Chipotle- food ( mainly bowls and wraps) is custom made. Sauces and side salads are very good. Meats are disappointing- they have rotating gyro grills but they are not in use and the meat is in chunks, not slices - a bit tough and dry, and hard to eat. I'd return to try the kofta and falafel in place of the meat. read more

I went back to Nova and ordered the Yia-Yia Fries. I don't know who this Yia-Yia is, but I'm convinced that she is the greatest human being that ever lived. Fresh skin-on fries with big hunks of feta, sweet caramelized onions and rosemary. These are the best fries I have ever eaten. Yes - better than Animal-Style fries from In-N-Out (fries so delicious, I blogged about them and beseeched the company to expand to the East coast. Better than Crab Fries from Chickie and Pete's...and every Phillies fan knows there's nothing better than a warm summer afternoon, Chooch on the field, a cold beer and a bucket of crab fries. The food here is very good and maintains a delicious homemade esthetic. It's Chipotle-like in that you stand in line and work with the person behind the counter to make yourself a bowl. Fill it up with all sorts of meats, sauces, sides. They offer sausage, and big spits of chicken and beef. The atmosphere is casual but nice, and always clean. Nice floors, nice finishes, a place for recycling, and they have imported soft drinks. Citrus flavored sanpellegrino, aloe water, and others. Parking is tricky as there's only a handful of spots out front and out back. Everything is very delicious and worth waiting in traffic to cross the road! read more

Pretty close to I-476, this place is great as a travelers' lunch stop. Situated in a small strip plaza that hugs a major road, parking is a challenge, but well worth the effort. Don't be fooled by the setup of placing an order at the counter; even though it's scaled to resemble fast food, it's pretty decent Mediterranean fare. The menu isn't as descriptive as I prefer, so I had to ask what a "locanico plate" was -- turns out it's a tasty, rich-flavored Greek sausage, so I went for it. It came with sides of tasty rice pilaf, tomato-cucumber salad, choice of pita (multigrain for me), and a sauce (try the eggplant!). I also got a cup of the egg-lemon chicken soup (similar to avgolemeno). For my dessert, I tried a rather nice "Greek butter cookie" (didn't catch the official name, but it was good). There is an entire case of tasty desserts to peruse! The atmosphere is light, casual, and the place seems to be popular with college students and young professionals, as well as people my age. My tendency to be anxious when visiting a new place did not get better when I placed my order and got silence, until I chose to blurt out which meat I wanted to order. The chicken gyro bowls we got were decent although the rice was a little hard -- a few more moments cooking would have helped. Perhaps a great choice for Villanova students because they do a decent job. But if you really want great Mediterranean food, you could definitely look around for better choices. read more

A five-star review for delivery is rare. Super rare. But this place is amazing and I can't wait to order again! I can tell this is going to be my new go-to delivery option. There's a wide variety of fresh and reasonably healthy options, plenty of veggies, and they delivered SO FAST. Granted, I'm only about a mile from them, but it seriously only took about 20 minutes to receive our food. I got the steak and lamb plate and he got the kofte plate. The meat was excellent, very well-seasoned and not too salty. Rice pilaf was delish, pita was good and served under the meat so it stayed warm and soaked up the delicious meat juices, and the cucumber and tomato salad on the side was a very light and refreshing addition. I got the greek vinaigrette as my sauce and it was really delicious. I made little greek tacos with the pita, meat, and salad and they were amazing. It is adjacent to Villanova University's main campus. Well, half of my assessment was correct...it is relatively cheap. They offer sandwiches, salads, plates, and soups. I love Soulvaki! I could not pass up the opportunity build my own sandwich. I decided to go with the fire roasted chicken, on white pita. They offer a vast variety of fresh toppings. I went with cucumber and tomato salad, Kalamata olives, roasted peppers, harissa, and tzatzaki sauce. My sandwich was delicious! They pack a good amount of meat on the sandwich...which is a plus. The only negative was the fact the person who made my sandwich was not wearing gloves. That is one of my pet peeves. But that did not discourage me from chowing down. read more
