Overpriced to match the neighborhood it resides. Don't get me wrong, I believe in paying top dollars for quality but for $29 a pie, I expected better here. I ordered the Maestro and Pistachio to go and they exceeded the wait time provided via phone. I arrived on time and I see it's a full house outside and empty inside. I awkwardly waited inside and it was unclear who to ask besides the waitors outside that looked busy tending to the tables. The dough tasted like when my dough wasn't what I wanted it to be. The flavor was okay. Both pies were nothing special or memorable to justify the price I paid. Again, price is not a concern for me when it's justified by the taste. Luckily Burrata was about 15 mins away so we headed there shortly after and grabbed a Burrata pie that satisfied our neapolitan pie craving. This place is amazing! I've bookmarked this place forever but I finally made it tonight. I think this was the best pizza I've ever had. Everything we ordered was delicious. Too bad they ran out of tiramisu. The restaurant is cozy and has a great vibe. Everything on the menu is authentic. This is the kind of pizza my wife loves; crusty, brick oven, with fresh ingredients, and a simple tomato sauce. I liked it well enough, but I found ours a little soggy except for the rather thick and tough edge crust. The salad was fresh, good and tasty. There are other items on the menu, but all we tried were pizza and salad. Quattro stagioni was our pizza. The salad we ordered had greens, red onions, red peppers, olives and the dressing was vinaigrette. It was quite crowded, even just after five, so locals must like it. Service is good. read more

The brothers who own the place are wonderful from the beautiful Calabrese southern region of Italy. Great local place for a cocktail or meal. It is a bit small on the inside, but it does have ample seating outdoors when the weather permits. The staff is amazing and the drinks are delicious. The food is also top-notch, but I do wish the portions were a little larger. Not sure if that is because the food is so good or the portions are that small. Italian restaurants in westchester are a dime a dozen. We typically dine at Burrata, Nonna Carola, Maria's and others but saw an instagram story which showcased their pizzas. This review is for their incompetent service (of 2 select staff), not the food which we would rate 4/5. We were a party of 7 which we confirmed was OK calling ahead before they opened - the staffer who answered the phone said no problem. We had instant booking confirm on google/yelp, and a secondary confirm by txt (auto generated). When we arrived they were flustered and acted as though their table reservations (sorted by name on their iPad) was incapable of being modified on the fly. You had 7 folks standing awkwardly at the door when you were debating what to do, it showed that you would have preferred we just walk out even though we had 2 small children waiting, along with one visibly pregnant person. A "manager" type-person said he did not take the call earlier to confirm the reservation so it wasn't his problem. He showed me that there was a party of 6 dining right after us in the same seating chart (via iPad table seating). He then proceeding to bring up the bartender who he said answered the call but didn't have authority to confirm the 7 person res. Anyone who answers your phone is a representative of the restaurant. The bartender was likely doing you a solid by picking up the phone when you were "busy." First of all, in the service industry, take some accountability, please don't blame the bartender, acknowledge your mistake and rectify the situation on the fly. We know many people in the restaurant industry (Michelin restaurants), and I say this as in they know how to pivot and think on the fly to adjust to situations. This place is new and it really shows. First the waitress was like no, how can this table fit 7?! As if we were asking her to solve world hunger. Then, the "manager" stepped in 2 mins later who said he did not know how to resolve the situation, he couldn't move 2 tables together or ask 2 other patrons who had just sat down and didn't order food yet to move to another similar table so that our group could sit together, their first suggestion was to separate our group in 2 tables not near one another. While there are many choices in Westchester, this left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. This is not what you do in the hospitality industry. Lord knows how they would accommodate anyone with allergies, a disability or any other issue, given they couldn't think to move 2 tables together on the fly. Their food is fine. Their pizzas come out hot, we tried 3 - Margerita, mushroom and nova, salads are ok though on the smaller size (didn't stand out), and their pastas are good- we had the bolognese and ravioli. We also sampled the rice ball and meatballs as apps which were everyone seemed to like. Please do better. This note is for the head waitress and "manager" working Saturday evening. This is NOT for the junior waitstaff (a woman and gentleman in their 20s-30s) who refilled waters and cleared plates and were friendly. There are several components of a great restaurant and while the food is definitely paramount, the service and the ambiance is what makes the whole package. Occasionally the food is so exceptional that you have to put up with a take it or leave it culture because the demand is so high that to get into the place alone is extremely difficult. However, while the aesthetic and the appealing concepts of a "Mozzarella Bar" are what drew me into this place on this cold winter evening, the service was so poor and the waitstaff so disrespectful that I did not even stay for the food, which while it looked appealing but limited in variety - is not worth poor service and a scent of intense putrid body odor. Let's dive into the story. I was on my way to Le Encore - one of my absolute favorite French restaurants for some pastis and escargot to warm my soul on this cold winter evening. At 5p Le Encore was not yet open until 5:30p. So I thought I'd drop in next door for a glass of wine and a Mozzarella dish. When I arrived they told me there were numerous reservations at the bar and pointed me to an unreserved seat. I even asked if I might sit at another seat in the corner but they told me it was reserved. So I took my seat and I hung my jacket on the back of my chair and asked to use the Restroom. I was gone no longer than 1-2 minutes! Upon returning - I found someone in my seat and my things having been moved to another seat at the bar. I stopped, said "Wait a minute, excuse me that's my seat" to the gentleman sitting in my chair. He told me "but we reserved" as if it was justification for people handing my stuff without my permission and taking my seat. So I then indicated to him and the staff - you may have reserved but not this seat yours was the one I had been moved to. They looked away, shrugged and expected me to accept the situation. At this point, the stench of the putrid odor and even stronger stench of terrible disrespectful service - I had enough. I quietly collected my jacket and calmly told them that this behavior was unacceptable and they should have asked me if I would be willing to move and not touched my things without speaking to me first. There are moments that just don't feel right and this given the situation, background, smell and disrespect - just didn't smell right. Great Italian is a dime a dozen in New York particularly within and in the suburbs around Manhattan and it's surrounding boroughs. For exceptional ambiance and service I will even tolerate great but less than exceptional food. However - this place with its quirky margarita pizza type menu, mozzarella that for sure falls short of Cassa Della Mozzarella on 187 and Arthur Avenue quality - was simply not worth it. The menu left much to be desired although I'm sure I could have found something but the service, disrespect and smell actually has me writing a review - which I remarkably - never do - because it was so off putting that no one should frequent this restaurant EVER. And to the guy who took my seat with no remorse or respect - enjoy the body odor - it matches the quality of your character. read more

Calling this restaurant "Pizzabar" is fairly misleading. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is high-end, definitely not as casual as the last place in this location. The menu does not have any entrees, just apps, pizza and pasta; they did have a fish special and a veal special for the night. The menu contrasts the atmosphere a bit. The pizza was solid, very authentic Neapolitan style, not my personal preference but very good for what it is. If you like crisp crust this is not for you. (Similar to Burrata in Eastchester but a bit larger.) My party had 3 pasta dishes and the veal special for entrees. The veal was huge and was rated highly. I had the lasagna, it was very tasty but a bit dry. The gnocchi was good but plain. One of my party had the short rib ravioli, this was a major disappointment, as it was just two medium sized ravioli for $24. We shared a side of roasted mixed vegetables that were perfectly prepared. I think we all left a bit underwhelmed, especially at ~ $80 per person. read more

So happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood. The food was excellent - incredible Caesar salad, delicious pizza - the drinks were lovely, and the ambience was classy but not pretentious. On top of all that, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality. They took great care of us, a family of four that showed up without a reservation. They sat us at the bar and then the bartender even helped us pass the plates to each other! When a table opened up, the offered it to us! Truly, exceptional service and excellent food. All I can say is wow this is a very special place. All three owners are from Italy. The wines are all spectacular Lorenzo. One of the owners was turning me onto some great Italian wines that are so affordable. It's really good to have someone guide you through Wine list that knows wines as he does. and these pictures are from three visits. They're only open three weeks and my wife and I keep going back. It's the best I've ever had in Westchester. The pizza maker is from Italy and an award-winning Chef his pizza is fermented. It doesn't fill you up.my wife and I share two pizzas every time we go. The ambience is cozy. It's a very small restaurant with 33 seats The bar is so beautiful. The atmosphere is so unique and special staff is very attentive and accommodating to answer. All your-questions. We are are already regulars, the ingredients are so unique and different from any pizzeria. A lot of it is imported from Italy. Great job guys will see you next week again. Ok so I've read all the reviews and finally got a chance to try this place tonight. While most reviews were good, some were not so good. Pay no attention to any of the negative reviews. FAKE NEWS!!!! This place is awesome. The food, the service, the ambiance are excellent. We tried the polpette, mini arancini, margherita pizza, bosco bianco pizza, and the gnocchi alla sorrentina. All amazing, fresh and reminded me of Italy. We absolutely love Nova Pizzabar and will be back. Every single person from the owner to the serving staff are professional, friendly and accommodating. Last Friday while viewing an open house, I decided to stop for dinner before heading home. I quickly looked at this place and it seemed like the perfect little spot just for that. I walked in and it's a small place so I skied to be seated at the bar. The bartender and the woman who sat me decided to completely ignore me, no hello, no can I get you anything. After 5 or more minutes I finally said hello can I get some service please. The lady who sat me walks away the bartender says water? I said yes and a Chardonnay and menu please. Again no hello, nothing, she then proceeds to pour in my glass not from one but 3 of what was left in bottles. I jokingly said oh wow I'm getting all the ends, she looks at me and says no I just opened a bottle. I let it go thinking maybe a language barrier. I ordered a caprese salad $16 which was ok and then the spaghetti amatriciana which had so much salt it was just un edible. When I tell her this she says Want something else? No apologies NOTHING but just like a self entitled face. I said no. She packs it and when I asked for the check she charges me for it! I said I am not taking this. Finally the owner comes takes it to taste it and says yes very salty but maybe it was the Italian bacon giancule and please gives us another chance. He takes off after telling her lot to charge me for it and looks post off. Never ever again. read more

Finally got to visit this great Italian place for Pizza. The owners were very hospitable. Very nice. The pizza was amazing. The service was great real authentic Italian products imported from Italy. Had a great Barata salad with tomatoes, olive oil and prosciutto diploma. It was delicious. Had margarita pizza that was amazing. my first trip to Nova was about 3 weeks ago, and it was a good dining experience. But today was a disappointment. I had the special entree: Gamberi Farro Tagliatelle Arrabbiata was overdone, mushy. Tagliatelle is a long pasta shape. What came out was cut as short as 1/2 inch in size. We had coffee. My Americano was very good, very hot while my wife's cappuccino was barely room temperature. No attempt was made to create any artwork with the frothed milk. I think it was a bad day in the kitchen. I know you can do better. read more
