came one night for NGHTMRE and it was amazing! everything about that night was perfect. bartenders were awesome, venue was clean, bottle girls looked happy to be there. the second night was for Pauly D annnnd... absolutely not. I don't think they planned ahead for how packed it was going to be. absolutely NO WHERE to stand and security kept yelling at my group and other girls near us. we stood by the stairs, nope. we stood near a booth, nope. we stood at the very beginning of the dance floor, nope. we stood by the stairs, nope. I asked security where to stand and he said on the dance floor. the only area on the dance floor without rubbing up on someones back the ramp going to the floor and we STILL got told to move. bottle girls looked fed up, bartenders were under a lot of pressure from how packed it was. security was constantly telling us to move when there was no room to stand! we left 5 minutes before Pauly D was supposed to go on stage. it was so so so crowded and WE got yelled at for trying to not be in the way. it was impossible to find a spot. read more

Way too expensive to get in . $20 dollars for small 90% ice drinks. Awesome DJs but the dance floor is way too crowded . Security and staff are so rude and entitled. I was standing by and empty table on the second floor. The lady working there pushed me and said you can't stand there . Maybe if you let less people in then we would have room on the floor to dance . It's only good with a table but probably costs $5k . The only way to dance on the floor is to bulldoze your way into the crowd and be squished like sardines. read more

This Club is very awful. Bartenders are extremely rude and refused to replaced my shot when it spilled by accident.. The bartender saw that I didn't tip on the credit receipt (little did he know I was gonna Tip in Cash) And he said Sorry I am gonna have to charge you for the replacement shot. Just because he didn't see a tip on the receipt. These people are money hungry. I will NEVER be attending this club ever again. THE Guy Manager looked so young and didn't even try to help me resolve the situation, He was just taking the bartenders side. I RATHER CHECK out BLOOM or any other night club other than NOVA! Sad part is I was visiting from out of town and it was my first time in San Diego & I was treated so horribly and disrespectful. ZERO STARS!!!! IT SEEMS like they kick out anyone they dislike. I'd recommend this venue if you want exposure therapy for claustrophobic social anxiety. If you're looking for a good place to have a memorable time with friends then I'd suggest to avoid Nova at all cost. This business is cheap and scammy luring people with false advertising and cramming them together where you can barely walk or breath. I wanted to spend the night enjoying a few drinks with friends because were are always busy with residency. I've been coming to this venue when it first opened as Omnia on a weekly basis before university and COVID hit. It used to be professionally managed. It was always a chill place to vibe and was top notch compared to every other club downtown San Diego. I decided to come here with my friends a second time for nostalgic reasons. I was in line for the guest list and arrived at 10:35. We were waiting in the admissions line the entire time but when I got to the door they told us the guest list line was on the other side. We walked there and the guy at the door said there is no way for him to check the guest list because he has no list, I kid you not. I showed him my booking but he still denied us entry. There were only two guys in the guest list line and he let them right in no questions asked. This happened around a couple minutes before 11 PM even after we've waited in the other line for 10-15 minutes. I told my friends I'll cover the entrance for them, no problem. We just wanted to go inside and have a couple of drinks and enjoy a good night. At the door after we were being checked one of the guys says with a smirk on his face "I can't believe you're arguing over 40 bucks this establishment is not for you". A couple of minutes after I heard that I hesitantly decided to leave. I spoke with the manager Thomas which was the same guy who denied us entry and he was highly unprofessional. He specifically said "I have no way of knowing you were in the other line" so he kept coming up with excuses. His go to response for everything was "he has no way of knowing or confirming what happened or who said what" even when it comes to his own professionalism and employees. No accountability whatsoever. Not even simple apology because of a misunderstanding. My friend wanted to calm me down and said let's just back in but we decided to go somewhere nearby with live music, a decent crowd and amazing drinks. I don't know what warrants them saying snarky comments to their customers. I'm glad we didn't stay there. I leave this advice for the owner and hope he takes it constructively and educates the staff. They should implement proper guidelines and measurements in place regarding policies and guest list because it felt like Omnia has become a cheaper venue that likes to scam and disrespect it's fans. Its such a deceiving move luring in customer for the guest list then intimidating them to pay at the door. Not all staff were unprofessional there were a couple of amazing people who understood what was going on. This place used to be special for any person or event but if you're in your early 20's and don't mind fighting to get to the dance floor, it works well for the college crowd. PS. We spoke to Mark the other day before our experience to organize an event and get a table for my friends birthday. He was highly courteous and professional. There are respectable people working there and I hope management learns from them. read more

place is alright. aesthetically, its pretty much the same as it was when it used to be Omnia. they have all the edm big names come and play here, which is cool but also very expensive tickets ($20-95), cover charge at the door will be more. Have not yet had any bad experiences with the staff... The worst thing is that drinks are extremely expensive ($15 mixed, $20 rbv, $36 rbv double shot) while being very light on the alcohol content (ive had about 8 in a night and barely felt anything; another night I got in with already 3-4 drinks under, got 4 drinks there which I sobered up on) and the drinks get weaker and weaker as the night goes on. Beer is probably the safest bet if you are able to drink a lot since it's % will be more consistent and as expected. This makes me feel like I need to party elsewhere before or after. probably a better experience if you are getting a table, but if you aren't then its just alright. This place is designed to suck money out of you, more so than other places. read more

Went to see Marco Lys, Bruno Furlan, and Joshwa on a Friday night and it was one of the worst nightclub experiences I've had. The sound system here is garbage, no low end and piercing high end. Paid 90$ for two doubles at the bar... barely could believe it. Younger kids comin here to get hammered and push and shove each other around. Seems like people go here for everything but the music. Best nightclub in San Diego, especially for EDM! It's a massive venue with 3 different floors and they always have the best DJs performing. I saw Zedd here recently and me and my girls had an amazing time. When there are A-list DJs playing here it's expected to be packed with people and prices will be high - you get what you pay for! The staff is super nice, drinks were made fast, and I left with a camera roll full of photos to help fill in the holes of my memory lol. This place isn't a concert space or rave, it's an upscale nightclub with top talent. Definitely recommend going for bottle service if you can afford it, especially if you don't like being in tight crowded places (I would rather pay a premium to be able to sit in a private area all night). read more

This is the first time I'm writing a yelp review and I'm gonna be as detailed as I can so bear with me. Came here last night 7/8/22 along with my friends (around 20 of us). We have 5 bottles ordered. It was my first time going here and I was told it was an upscale night club. The place looked really nice. The crowd, meh. The DJs, pretty good. The servers are wonderful, the guy we had cleaning up our table... Arrogant as heck. So the night started awesome. Drinks are flowing. Everyone is having fun until this guy started picking up our drinks (they're all full), and took them away. Why would you take drinks from people's table when they're obviously drinking it? I informed my friends and some other staff. They said they talked to this guy and that he will not do it again. 30 minutes later this dude comes over to me and starts confronting me like he wants to fight saying "if you have a problem with me come say it". Who tf says that. So i start explaining why we're being upset about what happened and his best response is "you're lucky i didnt get you kicked out". Kicked out for what Mr. Tough guy who thinks he owns the place? For calling you out for taking drinks that were paid for? Drinks that were poured from 600 dollar bottles, mind you. This guy kept coming back and pestering me trying to prove a point that he only took the drinks because no one was drinking them. Which he was proved wrong because when he asked my other friends if he can take their drinks away, everyone said no because they're still drinking it. But wait thats not even the best part. One of my friends got held up and interrogated for "drugging" my other friend. So they held him for the rest of the night and accused him of drugging somebody. Even though her boyfriend and her friends already said she was just really drunk. No footage or any evidence was presented even though we asked for them. Went to nova lastnight to see DVBBS, and all I can say is it was a 10/10 experience. Lots of security, everyone was super nice and professional, the vibe was one of a kind. The overal set up of the club itself is great. Each floor has bathrooms as well so A+ and the bar is pretty decent sized so the wait time isn't bad at all. Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a good time with upbeat music to dance to! read more

This was an amazing venue. The security guards on the way in were kind of mean and they have a weird policy where they don't allow men to wear shorts?? very weird but whatever. The venue itself was amazing. Bar service was super quick and generous despite the huge crowd. They did a fantastic job of keeping everyone cool, it was a huge gyrating crowd but i never felt hot or sweaty for a second. They must have great AC because air flow was amazing. I went to celebrate a New Years with my family, at the exit, I was pushed in my head to get out like I was a prisoner , also they pushed my GF and sister, after this happened , I had no choice but getting involved, next they caught me and one of the guards literally pulled my Rolex watch and kept pulling it until he ripped it out my hand... I just had the worst experience I ever had in my life. I have been to so many different places and events and I've never experienced this type of disrespect from an employee and a manager at the same time. I had a guy try to take a drink from my hand at 1:45 when they close at 2am. I asked for a manager who did acknowledge I was correct to finish my drink as long as I don't leave the building. Right after the guy who tried to take my drink started making faces at me and sticking his tongue out at me. I chose to take the high road and not make things bigger then they were but the manager who was an Asian woman started to treat me as I did something wrong while her employee was instigating, anyone could have easily made it physical but I made it a point to be the bigger person. I am really hoping this company takes initiative to right this situation when their employee was basically trying to start a fight in an environment that does not condone violence. This was not acceptable and I need some sort of follow up for what happened. read more

Went to the ATLiens show on Halloween and had so much fun, the dance floor can get pretty crowded and the security guards weren't really managing how many people could go in so it was definitely over crowded at one point! Love the multiple floors, especially the rooftop so you can take a break. Dress code is enforced but they were a lot more lenient than other days but NO SPORTS HATS or shorts is a 100% always. Girl scanning tickets was rude and all high and mighty so that was weird but they have the security and ticketing process down so it goes super smooth. This review is based on an experience I had trying to get into NOVA. As a first time customer and out of towner. It was the rudest/worst experience I've ever had with security guards. I understand the need for authority as a security guard but the SENSE of authority the entrance security has was extremely aggressive. And just to clarify it was only the male security, the women were cool with the bag/body checks and still handling their job right. Also, I understand if one worker is having a bad day--fine, but the male security guards talking back to my boyfriend and I, and giving us attitude about a damn hat (which we had no problem paying the $5 coat hang fee for) as we get in. We weren't arguing with them. They threaten to take him out if he puts it back on and I clarify we are already checking it in, and this guy bites back at me "Well you now how many people tell me that?!" "We better not see it or else" type of stuff multiple times. Like, I understand that in your position you probably think it's cool to make people feel subservient but it's not THAT serious. We are not at the airport. You are not going to come at me disrespectful with no reason. Out of pocket. And come to find out *inside* there's so many people wearing their hats. We still try to check in the hat and get bounced back and forth from entrance to exit. Lack of communication and poor customer service from the first jump. I was completely turned off after that. Never again do I feel the need to have an unnecessary girl fight with a bald security about something so simple just to get in a club and enjoy ourselves. Would rather spend $$ elsewhere. read more

I love this place, it reminds me of Las Vegas. I come here most weekends and give them frequent business. However, this last weekend one of the bouncers was super aggressive with the women, pushing them around, demanding them to get out the way when they were nothing but cooperative. Don't expect this from a high end club. I brought this up to multiple employees and no one wanted to take accountability. Sounds like they only care about their high end clients ( bottle service) instead of the people on the dance floor. Hopefully this can be brought into the management eyes. We celebrated my best friends bachelorette party at Nova and they did not disappoint. They brought out a huge display with lights and her name on a big sign, it was insane.
