It was moderately busy when we came in for my friends birthday lunch today. We made a reservation in advance, and while we were sat quickly, service was a bit slow. Both our drinks and our food took a while. That said, the food and drinks were fabulous! Zero complaints. Highly recommended their crab cake Benedict. The hollandaise is AMAZING! The interior was nicely decorated for Christmas. Beyond that, it's just a very cute place for a girls lunch. I will definitely be back!

A couple of things here made it a FIVE STAR experience for me. First of all, the service was FANTASTIC! We were a group of 8, and our server stayed on top of EVERYthing. We did NOT get charged an automatic 20% tip, so I tipped even higher. Secondly, when they spice things, they do an awesome job. So many time, all the spice is in the NAME of the item, instead of in the food. NOT here! My Bloody (spice level 6 out of 10) was PERFECT and the Creole Style Biscuits and Gravy were DELICIOUS!!! The ambiance is really cute and the fact that they put us in a separate(like) room made it even better. Just WONDERFUL!

Unique and welcoming restaurant with more of a coffee house vibe. Book store/ library decor. Our group was seated in a small dining room off the main room. Service was attentive, friendly and totally welcoming. Nice food items for Sunday brunch. Fine choice in old town St Charles.

Great location. Cute book themed. We (group of 10) met for our book club on a Sunday at 11am. We made reservations and the have us our own room. Both breakfast and lunch menu was offered. I ordered the Banana Bread Old Fashioned cocktail and the Veggie Breakfast Tacos that came with home fries. Everything was delicious. Staff were as wonderful. Love this place.

I'm a biscuits for bkfst type of guy. The bkfst here was like being home again. Everything is sooo fresh, and the staff, well, attentive as they can be. Very vibrant atmosphere, lively inside and out. For sure, a must stop.

Mainstreet breakfast with a blackberry mimosa

Main Street breakfast is the way to go, in my humble opinion. I have came here for all big life events. Libby is my favorite bartender, she is so wonderful and helpful. She does great with all customers and her bar knowledge. Abbie is my favorite server if I don't sit at the bar, but I have never had bad service ever here. All workers are hard workers and so helpful and kind. I love Joe the owner he is a local man who supports local schools and businesses which I love! The ambiance is so cozy, from the tables in the window to the cute tables near the books, or comfy chairs up front. I enjoy attending for bottomless mimosas. And sadly so far I've only had brunch but I am so excited to try their Italian cuisine that they serve for dinner!! This is a must try place when you are looking for a brunch, lunch or dinner!

My friends and I ordered Jersey Shore pizza, patty melt & fries. We had Cabernet wines during happy hour. The service was excellent. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The ambience is spectacular! It's dim lit with a library theme. It's very relaxing. The background music matches the decor and ambience. A great date night place! It is located in the heart of Main Street, St. Charles. One of my local favorites!

Breakfast outing on a beautiful Sunday morning. Walked right in and was greeted promptly and offered a table immediately with no wait! That is unheard of! Off to the table we went. So many varied options to choose from on their menu. We decided on the Early Riser Flatbread, Crab Cake Benedict and the Creole Style Biscuits and Gravy. Our selections arrived quickly to our table. The flatbread was amazing with what looked to be a homemade crust and the flavor was outstanding. Crab Cake Benedict was beautiful with a perfect hollandaise that ran down onto two large crab cakes. If you like spicy you will have to try the Creole Style biscuits and gravy. I can't explain the flavor, spicy but didn't "burn". Definitely a meal I would try again. All of the servings were large portions. This venue has indoor and outdoor seating areas and is nicely decorated.

Novellus on St. Charles Main Street brings a playful touch to classic cocktail culture, and it's a place I'll be recommending. The bartender told me I needed to read. It turns out, he wasn't joking. Check out how my drink was served! The drink arrived nestled in a hollowed-out stack of books, with smoky tendrils spiraling up as I lifted the cover. The presentation was top notch. The smokiness always adds a rich layer to an Old Fashioned. Beyond the Old Fashioned itself, the staff's sense of humor and the atmosphere make Novellus a great spot. It's the kind of place where details matter.

The service here never disappoints. Sitting at the bar enjoying an amazing brunch with friends. (Bottomless mimosas for $28 for 2 hours). This is the second time I've had the creole gravy. It's honestly my favorite cause of the spice and heat factor. SO DELISH!! The sisters (yes I know they aren't sisters) who work at this restaurant are always great and so attentive to your needs. Libby is an amazing bartender while Abby is on the floor serving! This is a MUST VISIT restaurant when in the St. Charles area!!!

My friend and I came for brunch last week, and we were very disappointed with the food. We asked the waitress her thoughts on this dish and she mentioned that "people loved them", but there was nothing to love about it. Our waffles were hard and crunchy and the chicken was just okay. The ambiance was good, and we were initially excited because we saw how cool the place looked. Overall service was well, our waitress was nice and patient with us. Unfortunately, won't be coming back to this spot, unless there's truly something to be excited about.

Visiting our bestie for her birthday, and we went to Novellus for a Saturday mimosa brunch. The service was great as our server was really sweet and attentive. We definitely kept her busy with the bottomless mimosas, as they have so many flavors to choose from. Along with the standard OJ and champagne, they also have peach, cranberry, grapefruit, and a few more. We also loved the food as well. The breakfast pizza was a great starter, and the Cajun pasta was very spicy and delicious! The Nashville chicken tenders were tasty, and the mini waffles that it came with were delicious as well. The ambiance was casual but stylish. We met the owner and although he told us how much he seemingly dislikes Yelp, and Californians (which 3 of us are) as he jokingly remarked, it was still a 5 star experience for us. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a brunch spot

The link was clunky, and after working through it laboriously, we managed to cobble together a 40.00 drink order combined. This is where the real trouble began. We were using two different devices for two different orders. On both orders we had trouble finding the "shots" option. One party eventually did. The other order kept defaulting to adding pretzels (required by law to get alcohol to go, apparently) even though we were planning to stay on site. Finally decided to just do one order and managed to shed the pretzels. We did all of this chaotic legwork instead of chatting and being out... and then the order asked for a tip. Normally I'm one of those huge over tippers- 20% minimum, usually 30% or more, but this gave me pause. It's like being asked to tip at Walmart. I just mucked through Narwhals computer system as free labor and they want me to tip? No. Didn't matter anyway because there wasn't an option to pay on either phone. We left and went to Firebirds for happy hour instead. It's 400 feet away, fantastic drinks, great price, patrons don't have to work for free, and there is an actual reason to tip. Ironically, the payment option for Narwhals showed up after we left. Maybe it was a signal issue? Ha. Jokes on them. If you go to Firebirds, I'd recommend the cherry old fashioned or the pineapple martini. Both excellent. Can't say about Narwhals and I won't be back to ever find out.

I booked a 6:15 PM reservation through OpenTable, something I highly recommend because this place fills up quickly, especially on weekends. We arrived a few minutes early at 6:08 PM, and our server, Maddie, greeted us right at the front with a warm smile and seated us immediately. Her friendliness set the tone for the entire evening. The moment we stepped inside, the ambiance struck us. Napoli 3 has such a romantic, intimate atmosphere, dim lighting, elegant décor, and a cozy layout that makes it perfect for anniversaries, date nights, or any celebration where you want the night to feel special. It truly felt like the ideal setting for marking 18 years together. To our surprise and delight, the staff brought out complimentary sparkling white wine to toast our anniversary. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel celebrated. They also served their hot bread, which was decent, warm and soft, but not quite as memorable as the bread service at some other restaurants. Still, it was a nice start. For drinks, I ordered a Sauvignon Cabernet to pair with my 16 oz ribeye steak, while my wife chose the Chicken Piccata. We also decided to share the Fried Calamari as our appetizer. The calamari arrived piping hot, clearly fresh out of the pan, and perfectly crispy. The marinara sauce was rich and flavorful, and the spicy aioli added a great kick. It was one of the better calamari plates we've had in a while. Then came the entrées, and this is where the night went from great to unforgettable. My ribeye steak might just be my new favorite in St. Louis. Cooked to a perfect medium, it was juicy, tender, and seasoned beautifully. I've always considered Annie Gunn's the gold standard for steak in the area, but honestly, Napoli 3 may have surpassed it for me. The peppercorn sauce I ordered on the side was outstanding, creamy, peppery, and the perfect complement to the steak. My wife's Chicken Piccata was equally impressive. The sauce was bright, buttery, and full of flavor, with just the right balance of lemon and capers. The sides, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and truffle fries, were all excellent and paired wonderfully with both dishes. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and well-executed. From start to finish, the entire evening felt special. The service, the atmosphere, the food, and the little anniversary touches all came together to create a perfect night for us. After 18 years of marriage, it's moments like these that feel extra meaningful, and Napoli 3 delivered in every way. I couldn't be happier with our experience, and we'll absolutely be returning.
