We stopped by, and were casually directed to go "pick a table, scan and order." Definitely have had better first impressions, but no big deal. Found a table and scanned as directed. The link was clunky, and after working through it laboriously, we managed to cobble together a 40.00 drink order combined. This is where the real trouble began. We were using two different devices for two different orders. On both orders we had trouble finding the "shots" option. One party eventually did. The other order kept defaulting to adding pretzels (required by law to get alcohol to go, apparently) even though we were planning to stay on site. Finally decided to just do one order and managed to shed the pretzels. We did all of this chaotic legwork instead of chatting and being out... and then the order asked for a tip. Normally I'm one of those huge over tippers- 20% minimum, usually 30% or more, but this gave me pause. It's like being asked to tip at Walmart. I just mucked through Narwhals computer system as free labor and they want me to tip? No. Didn't matter anyway because there wasn't an option to pay on either phone. We left and went to Firebirds for happy hour instead. It's 400 feet away, fantastic drinks, great price, patrons don't have to work for free, and there is an actual reason to tip. Ironically, the payment option for Narwhals showed up after we left. Maybe it was a signal issue? Ha. Jokes on them. If you go to Firebirds, I'd recommend the cherry old fashioned or the pineapple martini. Both excellent. Can't say about Narwhals and I won't be back to ever find out. read more

They have seasonal/festive drinks depending on the time of year, and all of their slushies are usually bang on and super fresh tasting. I've visited this location a couple times now and I must say I really enjoy the drinks and the entire concept. They're mainly known for slushy flights but you can mix it up by size. 3 eight oz mixes, 2 twelve oz mixes or any size all by itself up to 24 ozs. I always go for the bourbon slush and enjoy the flight to sample other flavors from the menu. The slushes look innocent but they pack a punch. And you can add floaters to kick it up a notch! You can also order from the regular drink menu on the rocks or shots. My friends and I did a little of both. As for the nachos, this location partnered up with Loaded Nachos next door and they also offer options to help you try more of the menu. I went with the side by side plate and got crab rangoon as well as Korean bbq nachos. They were delish! The Korean bbq has tender sliced beef, kimchi, green onions and water chestnuts I believe. I thoroughly enjoyed the funky sour kick of the kimchi paired with the beef. I could eat an entire meal of these and I don't even eat meat on the reg. The crab rangoon nachos were solid. I don't think I could eat an entire tray, IMO they're more of an appetizer but I still enjoyed them. This place is great for groups and easy to book online. If you're going with a group here's a hint: have 2 different people book a table for a party of the same size, that way you don't have to rush the experience. All bookings are only for 90 minutes but when it's packed your wait is slightly longer so it can sometimes feel a bit rushed. I can definitely say I'll be back. Decided to check this place out on a Saturday afternoon. Super cute concept and tasty cocktails. The only reason they lost a star from me is because their ordering system is to scan a qr code and then pull up the menu. Ok fine except for the fact that only one person in my group could pull it up because the rest of us couldn't get cell signal in there. OoOoo how I love Narwhal's! I usually frequent their Midtown location, but I decided to visit the St. Charles location - as they were closer to me at that moment. With it being Winter, their menu added a few seasonal drinks and I opted to try the Grapefruit Whiskey Sour. I'm glad I chose that because it was super good!
