Oh my this place was fantastic!! Ms. Kitty a four year old pug stay here for two nights! She had her own suite and a private door so staff can let her out to poo and play!! The water bowl is refilled automatically when empty!! They supply a bed and blankets, but you can bring the pups own along with toys(2) and their favorite treats and food!! The price is very reasonable and the staff are very friendly and helpful!! We will definitely be going back!! They also have a play area that would rival any playground!! Yes!! My dog has been coming here for several years and even though it's not super close to where I live, I keep bringing her back here. The facilities and staff are great. They communicate well and are open 24/7 so always available for questions. My dog has come here for daycare, day boarding and for overnight stays. They're able to give medications and have a number of add on services (like group play, individual play, kong treats, grooming, etc.) to make your pets stay comfortable, which is important for me because my dog has anxiety! It's a great option for people who like to travel because they're right next to the airport and offer parking and shuttles to the airport. Highly recommend it! The only thing I wish they had was a pet cam, but they do send pet report cards during their stay. read more

We had an excellent experience from the first phone call to picking up the dogs at the end of their stay. Booking was easy and they contacted my vet for all the info they needed. The place was easy to find, clean and welcoming. Staff was friendly and professional. I love that they are staffed 24 hours so you can drop off and pick up any time. What a great concept. Most importantly, my dogs seemed very happy and they came out looking and smelling great after a full day of boarding. Their beds were also as clean as when they came in. They had a nice report card available online. The only thing that would have improved it is if they had some pictures attached to the report card so I could see them enjoying their day. Location-wise they are conveniently next to the airport so I was a little worried the sound of planes taking off could be scary for them, but they seemed to do fine. We've been using Now Boarding since we moved back to Minneapolis over a year ago. Always great service. I admit it's a little pricey, but you honestly get what you pay for. We had to bring our dog to another place once, and he came back so hoarse he couldn't even bark, from being boarded in gen pop without a private option. But Now Boarding offers a much more private option for more vocal pups like mine. The personal care and attention the staff pays to our pups is incredible. We have 2 doxies, one with a bad back (as they often have). We are never worried that he'll be mishandled and injured at Now Boarding. This is the first time we decided to have group play time, and our boy did amazing. I love the report cards they give you - at least one note a day indicating how your pup behaved (or didn't). We were reassured that he did great. We recently had to put one of our dogs down due to an acute health problem. We called Now Boarding and changed our reservation from 2 dogs to 1, no problem. What is truly incredible is that when we picked up our surviving dog today from a 5-day stay, we received a hand-written, personalized sympathy card from the staff. And I don't just mean a standard "so sorry for your loss" sympathy card. No. Each of the staff members wrote something personal and really sweet - and I mean truly personal. They remembered details about Etta's stays and her personality, and noted them in the card. Mind you, we've only boarded them 6 or 7 times at most. But the staff honestly remembered her, and genuinely cared that she's no longer with us. We would never hesitate to board our dog at Now Boarding, but after this sympathy card, not a doubt in our minds that this is the ONLY place we will ever board our 4-legged loved one. read more

First time leaving my 1 year old Cat for a long weekend. I was super nervous about bringing him to pet day care and wasn't sure how he would do. I was able to book my reservation online, super easy and straight forward. During the booking, I was about to write out how my pet likes to spend time with people - he is not a cuddler but loves to play. He constantly has toys out and really wants nothing to do with you if you are not interested in running around with him. When I picked him up, I learned that the staff really took into consideration what I wrote and took time to play with him. He had the greatest time! He really enjoyed exploring the cat room and had no problems with eating and using his litter box (signs that he was not stressed. phew!) I did pay the extra money to have a calming collar on him to help with any anxiety but from his report card, apparently he was just fine. I don't even think he missed me, he just loved the attention he was getting! Thank you so much to the staff at Now Boarding for doing a great job with my little one. I am so relieved that I can now travel without worrying about what I am going to do with my cat. Dog owners - they have an outside area where dogs just get to run around so they get their exercise for the day. They looked super happy to be out there. read more

Certainly the nicest boarding facility I've seen in the southern Twin Cities. The outstanding services include online reservations, 24/7 operating hours, convenient location next to airport, monitored day care and a friendly staff. The rates are slightly higher than some of the other boarding facilities in the area, but considering the quality / convenience, it still has a far superior value for short stays. This place is great. At a neighborhood party one of our neighbors mentioned the Sunday mini romp. While this isn't always easy to get into, we had to make reservations two months in advance, our pup loves it and always comes home ready for a cozy night sleep. Every time we bring our dog the employees know her name and are excited to have her. You can tell they truly like what they do and they love dogs! They offer other services such as over night and longer term boarding, hence their name. They are a perfect option if you have to fly somewhere and didn't have time to make arrangements for your dog as they are right by the airport and even offer rides to and from the airport. If you have a pup and you travel, or you just want to get all their energy out on a cold wintery Sunday, consider Now Boarding! read more

Our first experience was generally quite pleasant. We dropped our cat off at 5am and used their First Class Ride service to park our car at Now Boarding and get a private ride to the airport. Upon returning, we were picked up from the airport around 11pm and taken back to Now Boarding, where we retrieved our cat and car and headed home. The First Class driver was a little late picking us up (this is a third party company NOT operated by Now Boarding) but I called NB and they were able to call the driver and have him update us on his arrival time. We were only ever in the facility either super early in the morning or super late at night, so I don't blame the staff for seeming a little sleepy (we were as well) The cat condo seemed a little small, not to the point that it was concerning, but I wish there was an option to upgrade to a larger unit. My only other complaint was that the website states to bring the animal's bed or a blanket to put in their condo so that they have some smells from home. I brought a blanket with us for the cat to have in his condo, but the staff never ended up putting it in his condo. I asked for an itemized receipt to be emailed to me and haven't yet received it, so I'll have to call back and get that sent over again. Not a huge deal, but just something to add to the post-vacation to-do list. read more

We have been taking our puppy here since we first got her, and it's honestly a completely amazing place! State of the art facility. They give you a tour when you first come in so you can see all the amenities, and have a great website where it's easy to book services. They are also open 24 hours so you can always call to schedule something. They have a great puppy play package for dogs up to 8 months old, and it's very affordable at about $30/full day of daycare. They also accept Apple Pay and can schedule you several months out at a time. I wish they didn't book up so quickly for boarding but they are super popular! So if you need to board your dog definitely book months in advance. Our dog loves it here and they take such good care of pets - she is completely exhausted every time she comes home from daycare :) read more

This is in no way indicative of the boarding services, their boarding is top notch. This review is about their daycare services. The daycare service is not horrible, but you can tell that there is a clear clique vibe. Unless you are a long time client it's nearly impossible to get in. The DC supervisor and DC lead seem like they're running the place more like a popularity contest rather than to actually care for our animals, treating the dogs they like with a lot more leniency and blaming anything that goes wrong on the dogs they don't like even IF one of their "favorites" are to blame. Now I've heard that they've stopped hiring for a full time daycare employee because the only people that applied didn't fit into their "clique" even if they were more than qualified. The daycare used to be really good but it seems like the quality has dropped off immensely in the past two years. If you're going for high class boarding then look no further than here, but if you want a good daycare experience go elsewhere. read more

Fantastic. Great. Feel safe leaving my golden retriever there. My dog was a rescue dog and she always was very nervous when you leave (barking). She was at first here, but with lots of petting, sitting with, hugging, playing she started to relax. Plus they put a curtain around to block out the ability to see others that partially cause my dog to bark more. Separation anxiety. But after the first few hours she calmed down and loved it there. Biggest benefit is the 24-hour access to the facility, which anyone who's boarded a pet before should realize is invaluable. Open lot parking and shuttle to and from the airport are pretty convenient, too. The place is brand-spanking new and the public facilities at least look nice - have no idea what the kennels are like, though. That being said...it's overpriced for what you get. The outdoor areas are lame - the front yard is a smallish fenced-in area with no tree cover whatsoever. The indoor play space is spacious. It's good to have the dogs able to socialize and play, but it costs extra...which is not the case at other kennels like Camp Bow Wow. Also, they'll charge for a half day if you pick up just one hour after a 24 hour interval, which is a total rip-off. read more

My dogs stayed there today and seem to have had a great time (tired now from all the free play in the romper room). 24/7 operating hours allowed me to not worry about flight delays and pick them up at 9pm - impossible at most dog boarders. Convenient shuttle for $14 parking fee. Prices are comparable to most doggie daycares (I typically use Downtown Dogs). I would def go to Boarding Now again! read more

Since all of these reviews are about dog boarding, I thought I would take a moment to review their cat boarding facilities. I know most people don't board their cats, and this is going to make me sound like a crazy cat lady, but my kitty doesn't do so great when "her human" is not around. The main thing is that she doesn't get along with my roommate's dog. So although my roommate is cool with feeding and keeping an eye on her when I'm away on business or vacation, having to take care of her own dog makes it complicated. It's better for all parties if I remove my kitty from the situation when I'm away for extended trips. I've used Now Boarding about 6 times during the past 1.5 years and they've all been positive experiences, though some have been more positive than others. To be fair, I haven't tried other places as there aren't that many places in the Twin Cities that take cats. The number one pro to them is convenience. They are reasonably close to my house and of course the airport. It's great that I can get off the plane at 8pm, pick kitty up, and head home. No other place in the twin cities that can match this level of convenience. Service-wise they are pretty good although I've noticed that sometimes they are more attentive than other times. Let me explain: Our first visit was a little over a month after I adopted her from the humane society. I think my cat thought I had "returned" her as she regressed a little. The only reason I know that is that the 2nd morning of my 5 day trip, I got a call that kitty hadn't eaten since she arrived the morning the day before and they wanted to know if it was ok if they gave her wet food. After okaying this, I received a call from them every 3-4 hours for the rest of the day. ("didn't work, can we try tuna", "she's eating again but no BMs", "she acting normal again", etc). Then they called me every day just to let me know everything was still ok. All without me prompting them which I thought was pretty cool. Made me think that if something went medically wrong, they would be very attentive. Kitty is still not the social butterfly of the place as she prefers undistracted 1:1 attention and needs to be coaxed a bit, but giving her the calming treatment the first day seems to help her adjust a lot. This "not eating" thing has not happened since but I can definitely tell that sometimes kitty gets more attention than other times because her report card always reflects it. If I get an undistracted, cat loving kennel attendant, her report card will say that "kitty was shy the first day" but once she realized "what nice head scratchers" they were she turned into a cuddlebug, which is the personality I know her to be. If I get a distracted employee with little cat experience, her report card will say that kitty was a sad antisocial soul who never came out of her kennel. To me this is only marginally better than her getting into fights with my roommate's dog if she had stayed at home. :/ To be fair, this has only happened 2 of the 6 times but it makes me think that kitties aren't really their priority. If there were a more options, I might try other places, but I think this would be the case at any place that also boards dogs so its not a deal breaker, it's just my reason for only giving three stars. Facility & cost-wise, they are the best value. It's hard to get my kitty into her carrier so they always escort me back to get her myself meaning I've seen the setup of the whole places a few times. It's always super clean and calm. The kennels are a good size and well maintained. The kitty play area is a pretty good size too. And their cost is fairly comparable to other places. (I think in my internet searching I only found one other place that was cheaper for cats and it would have involved an hour's drive each way with a yowling cat). So for now, I'll keep coming back but I really would love to see other options for cat boarding. read more

Updating my previous review - we had a chance to use both of our preferred boarding facilities within a couple of weeks of each other with travel over Thanksgiving and the first weekend of December. Upon observing our dogs after each boarding stay its clear that our dogs are happiest at Now Boarding. At the other place (not Now Boarding) our dogs came back with some behavioral issues: Tofu had reverted some to his scared, submissive self (a lot of cowering when ever we were standing near him, submissive urination when we would ask him to sit, and a serious avoidance of his crate). But when they both came back from Now Boarding, it was clear that they were happier - they seemed like the well-adjusted dogs that we had dropped off. We'll be going here first from now on - and making our reservations early enough that hopefully we'll be able to get in. read more

Our 4-year old vizsla has boarded there at least 6 times and is excited to go every time. She knows when its time to go - our suitcases are a tip-off and can barely contain herself. When she comes home, she's excited to see us, tired, but appears to have had a great time. Great addition to the area, as it seems most doggie day cares / boarding places are too far away for us to use them. Not only do they board pets overnight, but they have a deal with the airport, so you can park your car there (for a fee) and take a shuttle to the airport after you drop your little buddy off! Get it..."Now Boarding." We've been taking our dog for doggie daycare, and they do a great job with our very shy dog. There's a big open playroom, and access to a small fenced in area where they take the dogs throughout the day. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and clearly care about the animals. The price for a 10-visit package is very reasonable, and they offer other services like grooming, though I thought the price for that was pretty high. There's no doggie webcam, which is kind of a bummer. But, I'm sure my employer is grateful that I'm not watching my dog hang out there all day (which I'd probably do if they had cameras.) My understanding, too, is that Now Boarding is run by the Humane Society, so much of (if not all) profits go to benefit animals in need. Nice! read more

I've never kenneled my dogs at Now Boarding but I take my lumbering yellow lab to doggie daycare all the time and he loves it. The play area is big and spacious, the outside area is way bigger than Downtown Dogs and the peeps are very friendly. Daycare prices are pretty reasonable and you can do a half day which is nice. The application process is somewhat rigorous (what I imagine its like getting your kid into daycare) but you feel better knowing that they do a good job screening the other dogs since you plan to leave your precious pooch in their hands. We brought our 8.5 month old boxer to Now Boarding for an overnight stay while we were in a wedding. We needed someone last minute to watch her, so we were somewhat limited in where we could take her. Chloe really seemed to enjoy her stay. She came home excited to see us, but tired.. and she slept the entire morning after we picked her up. It takes a lot of play to have Chloe that tired, so we were grateful for that! I love that Now Boarding is open 24 hours a day - it was helpful when we were calling late at night to find a place for her to go. We didn't have to do any odd hour drop off/pick up, but I can see myself appreciating this in the future. I didn't see her actual kennel/personal space, but the website photos look great. The check-in process was great, and incredibly fast. When my husband left after dropping her off, he could see her running in the outdoor play yard - I love that they have this! When we picked Chloe up, the staff gave us a "report card" - which to some might sound ridiculous, but I was so grateful for it! I love hearing how Chloe did away from us and it saved me having to ask a bunch of questions about how well she played, if she sat when asked, how much food she ate and... etc. I wish they had webcams - that was the one thing that had my husband hesitating to use Now Boarding - most of the other doggy daycare/kennels seem to have that. Adding these would be a huge bonus - I hope they do so in the future. read more

They are quick to react if your animal gets sick (which mine did - not due to anything at the facility), and they eased my stress of being away while she was sick with many updates. I have used Now Boarding for boarding my cat when I travel many times and, unlike other boarding experiences, it has been a very positive for both my cat and for me. I have also used their parking service which is fabulous. My cat, R., is comfortable there and settles into the routine easily and quickly. He comes home happy - though he definitely misses me while I'm away. This was not the case at several other boarding places we tried when coming here. They are open 24x7 and it seems like I am usually dropping off at 4 am and picking up a midnight - but they are always there and always delightful to deal with. I find their front desk staff to be very friendly and efficient and, indeed, it seems like they know us. The facility is spotless and utterly odor free (very unusual in boarding facilities elsewhere in my experience) AndI love that I can book appointments online and that there is a discount for extended stays - both in parking rates and boarding rates. All in all, we are loyal Now Boarding folks, and would not take R anywhere else. read more

Cons: Kind of cold and impersonal. We're used to boarding at Golden Valley where we know the employees and they know our dog. Here, our dog was carted away by someone who didn't even greet us...I was nervous because our dog was dog-aggressive and this stranger didn't get any info beforehand since I was in the process of filling out the intake form. Pros: Frosty Paws!!! Ultra-Mega-Pros: I got a call late in the afternoon that my Dad had a heart attack and I needed to leave town within a couple hours, Golden Valley was booked up so we called Now Boarding. After I explained the emergency situation, they let us come right in with our dog even though you're supposed to fill out an online form first, etc. I'm SO grateful for that! read more

We've boarded our 6 year old terrier at Now Boarding twice for long weekend stays and we have been very impressed. She is a wonderful dog, but anxious (she's a rescue). She's been part of our family for 6 months now and we wouldn't have boarded her this soon but we had to attend two family funerals in a short span of time, so we had no choice. We were more nervous than Roxy at leaving her there, but she did great. The staff was very patient with her and she seemed happy each time we picked her up. We love the "report card" summary of her stay, it really helps to know details of how she behaved. We feel comforted that she is safe there, and really appreciate that they are open 24 hours, so a delayed flight is not a problem. The staff is obviously very caring and conscientious, even calling to clarify behavior issues I described in the online reservation doc. They remembered her from her first visit, and made a nice fuss over her when we returned. Now Boarding is the best kennel we've used, and the prices are average from what we experienced with our previous dog. The parking and shuttle to the airport are nice options too. We highly recommend Now Boarding. read more

The worst part about traveling is not being able to take my dog along but I know he is always safe when I leave him at Now Boarding. The convenient location next to the airport means I don't have to go out of my way to bring him in - they even offer transportation to the airport if you like! The space is clean and I like that Blue has his own private area to wind down. The fact that they can accommodate drop off and pick up at any time is a huge plus!! We have been extremely happy with Now Boarding. They have done an outstanding job with our field bred English Cocker. We board her there when we travel, use their doggie daycare, and have had obedience lessons (for her not for us although we may need them also). Now Boarding is associated with the Animal Humane Society so your dollars are supporting a good cause. The staff members are helpful and friendly. They love dogs and we feel absolutely secure in leaving Sophie there. She likes it very much and when we drop her off for boarding and daycare she leaves us without a backward glance while we are trying to hold back the tears. In the past we used house/dog sitters but we had a few bad experiences and were always worried about our dogs' well being. We believe it is best to have a full time professional staff in an established facility. Now Boarding books up early so reservations need to be made reasonably far in advance. They offer a shuttle service to the airport and parking while you are gone but we haven't used these services. read more

I can't rave about this place enough. We took our dog, Sampson to Now Boarding for 9 years and have referred a number of friends and family to this facility because of the great care they gave our dog. Sampson loved coming here and seeing all his friends; furry and otherwise. I say that because as soon as we said "where are we?" his head would pop out the window and tail would wag uncontrollably. He would nearly run to the door to see the staff and wouldn't even say goodbye half the time when he was being taken back because he was with his next favorite human. Sampson was very well cared for while he was there and the facility made sure to call if there were questions or concerns- which we really appreciated. Now Boarding has treated us like family. When Sampson passed we received a four page sympathy card where each person who worked with Sampson provided a heartfelt note- not a generic- so sorry for your loss. We will be using Now Boarding in the future and will continue to refer them. read more

I've used Now Boarding twice for my cats and have had a positive experience both times. Like most cats, mine don't love to travel or be away from home. At Now Boarding they seem to be well cared for and they have always been happy to come home. The facility itself appears to be very clean and doesn't smell like animals. Before I officially signed up with Now Boarding I did a tour so I could see the cat area. The kennels are standard size but there is a good size play area with toys and climbing equipment where they can play for 30 minutes per day. I've also used the parking and shuttle service to and from the airport. The first time they forgot to sign us up for the shuttle to the airport but called a taxi and covered the fare, so that was good. The way back from the airport we hopped on the super shuttle, picked up the cats at 11pm and went home. Anywhere else we would have had to wait until morning to pick them up. Would definitely recommend Now Boarding for any travelers with cats. I don't have a dog so I cannot speak to those services. read more
