It took three months for them to produce video footage, which confirmed what I'd said all along: I never stole anything. I was not found guilty of any crime, yet I was forced to pay over $1,500 in legal costs simply to defend myself against a baseless accusation. Glow Fish Studios doesn't feel like a business anymore--it feels like a sting operation run by someone who gets a little too much satisfaction from accusing and humiliating people. I used to shop here often. I have no criminal background. This was deeply traumatic, and it seems they care more about "catching shoplifters" than actually treating customers like human beings. If you value integrity, avoid this place. They are not the small business they pretend to be. Overpriced shit that isn't even from real witches. Just gentrified, rich white women who profit off aesthetics, not authenticity. Save yourself the drama and support Motown Witch or Moonlit Mystic LLC--actual Black-owned Detroit shops that honor the craft and don't treat their customers like suspects.

My thinking is, if making a $2,500+ sale was not important enough for Skylar to call the customer back, at least with an update, then my money is not good enough for Milkins Jewelers. From the owners to the staff, they know you by name and always make you feel at home whenever you come in. They've been there for literally generations (3rd generation now?), and have a wonderful reputation for friendly service and great products over those decades in business. She pointed them out for me and selected some jeans for me to try and even put them into the dressing room. I told her I wear skinny jeans. She put about 6-7 jeans in the room and they were so many ugly colors and ugly washes I would never wear and there wasn't one pair of skinny jeans in the group. It's very organized after knowing it's a consignment store. The section when you first walk in is for the early birthday parties and all handmade by local artists. The search continues for me and some acceptable maternity wear. I didn't find one shirt, top, dress or jean worth even trying on at all. Too bad there weren't many pics of the kinds of clothes on the web. I might have not even made the drive from Dearborn during my lunch break had I known it was a resale shop.
