Good place to go specially during summer on "Summer Sunday's" their afternoon party. This year they are extending the event until the last weekend of October. I've been three times and I really like the ambiance in here. Is chill, please really go to enjoy the music and dance, and drinks are well made at a reasonable price. The only part that I think could improve is that their food offer is usually very limited and overpriced, so if you go make sure to eat something before arriving, and the bar always lack inventory of their beers, so their selection is not as wide as it shows the menu, I've been three times this summer and they never have what I ordered (multiple beers on different days) so I have to get something else. Other than that I really like their "respect and tolerance" policies, the crowd is usually very nice and not conflictive, I've never seen a fight or bad attitude from the guests. I would definitely recommend going, enjoying good music and having a good time. I've never been during their night events but they seem to have a very good DJ selection as well.

Amazing outdoor space! It's huge, comfortable and welcoming, tons of different seating areas and various food and drink options. They also have board games. I would definitely come back to access this amazing outdoor space and great vibes.

The Zumbador food thing out back feels like a price grab . Use to be cool and good hearty food you could count on. We miss Izakaya ! 15$ nachos with no cheese ??? Wtf . And they give you a hard time if you want extra anything and charge you $1.00 for a thimble size lolz :( RIP Izakaya. They had the best $9 burger around . And so kind. Not trying to yo price gauge . And they would remember you when you'd come back and always say hi ! Food is important.

I come here mainly for the ambiance and resemblance of a backyard. Drinks are good, pretty standard. There's also a Mexican food truck w delicious guacamole and chips. Good place to have a chill birthday party or hangout

Fried chicken sandwich. As you can see the entire center of the chicken is raw.

DO NOT EAT AT THE FOOD TRUCK! The food was horribly undercooked and I suspect this was not the first time. Five bites into the fried chicken sandwich it was clear they didn't know what the heck they were doing in the kitchen. The chicken was crispy on the outside and raw in the middle. Clear sign they don't know to fry chicken and heat was probably too high. Frankly, I am concerned about the food safety for the food truck cause it shouldn't be that pink like never. Plus they barely wanted to refund the entire meal -- not great customer service. We also had the tempeh, which was just okay. The only thing good was the fries, which were probably frozen. So a safe bet.

I remember a time when beer wasn't as crafty and food wasn't as tasty and the outdoors weren't as enjoyable...okay, I really don't. Nowadays is all I've got to go on. What I mean is today, those aforementioned points are great. I also am (badly) referencing the Borough bar hangout of the same clever title. My buddy and I visited Nowadays a few weekends back and had a quality time, for the most part. Let's get into it. When arriving at this Queens destination, you'll be greeted with two places to chill: inside and outside. I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't excited to check out the exterior section, but I'd also be completely full of it if I didn't mention the reason we were even there was because I wanted to partake in Evil Twin NYC brews. The longtime gypsy brewery finally has a home in the land of Queens (and is currently building their tap room). In the meantime, you can sample their spectacular suds via tasters and pints within the interior bar of Nowadays...that is if there isn't a private event closing off this section that wasn't posted on either social media outlet...yeah, I was a little saucy in that statement knowing we trekked all the way there to only be able to experience half the place (and one Evil Twin brew), but we made the best of it. That snafu aside, Nowadays (of the outside variety) has an awesome setup with a bar, food truck, a couple games, and plenty of places to chill out in a rather green setting (i.e. amongst the trees). I noted the row of bug sprays available on the side of the bar which led me to think the dog days of summer might bring plenty of pests, but at least they're aware of this. They should also be aware of their little signs that reserve tables for certain parties and how some spots were missing them (the reason why my buddy and I took a seat). We had no problem getting up from a table that was apparently reserved, but ya gotta be more on top of that. Okay, I promise, besides those little tidbits of annoyance, I did enjoy Nowadays. That bar? A great selection of local brews (Other Half, KCBC, Interboro, Finback) that could honestly put a lot of locations to shame. The food truck? Some tasty-sounding selections along with another little area for pulled pork and hot dogs. I partook in one of those wieners, though this wasn't your average sausage. A casino dog was its name and peppers, potato, and a spicy-ish mustard was its game. Superbly delicious and somewhat worth the $10 price. No live music could be heard on that warm mid-May evening, but there was a schedule of upcoming summer events that could lead back band lovers to jam out when the weather turns nicer (as it has). Perhaps that'll include me? Time will tell... Overall, Nowadays started off on a disappointing note or two, but made up for it with a unique setup and plenty of tastiness (between food and drink) to warrant a return trip. I land somewhere around 3 1/2 stars on this experience, though I'll round up knowing I missed out on the interior of the place and what I'm tentatively sure would've raised things to four. Hopefully I get back soon, because nowadays, there's just so many other spots to check out.

    Fried chicken sandwich

Great outdoor place for a small or large get together. Didn't feel crowded but it helped that I had a reservation (cost $5 per person). There are fire pits available but I would not recommend since smoke or fire just flies into your face when the wind picks up. Firepit reservations cost more per person. There are QR codes on the table so its super easy to pull up the menu. I ordered drinks and food at the bar myself. Cocktails start at $11 and there are pitchers available for some cocktails. Shochu lemon sour tastes exactly the way it sounds. I had the fried chicken sandwich which came with a lot of shredded cabbage. The chicken was quite crispy but could have used some more sauce.

Huge space, lots of TV's everywhere, great selection of beers and food. Lots of beer on tap from Germany that is rare to see at most bars. The Grilled Party Mix ($39) was quite filing for two people and went great with the beer. The drinks line eventually became too long to bother and was moving glacially slow, but luckily we had gotten a bucket of canned beers by then which lasted us the rest of the night. The place was packed to the rafters the whole night making it hard to watch the games. Sight lines vary wildly depending on where you're sitting. Luckily we got a good spot for the Colombia vs. Portugal game and with the thousands of Colombian fans the atmosphere was top tier. Overall a great night.

This place is the things you'd want in an outdoor Beer garden - casual eats in the Brat Haus and beers on tap. Not to mention the in-house private event space that does have air conditioning. Perfect for parties of 20-700! Says it on the website and I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it myself. This review is for The Hive restaurant specifically since that's where I had my meal. A beautiful bar with a Stein wall with lockers for patrons who wish to store them - you see that just past the host station. The indoor dining room just beyond. We started with the Wurst Sampler Platter. Think bratwurst, knackwurst, krainerwurst, and jalapeno cheddar bratwurst. I had no idea there were so many varieties and it was paired with the best potato salad I've ever had. Authentic and delicious sauerkraut to match. Also ordered the House-Cured Slab bacon, paired with a blackberry gastrique. Excellent choices I must say. For dinner, we just had to try the Schnitzel. Admittingly, it was hard to decide (all were veal options and there was one chicken option)! I chose the Champignon Rahmschnitzel and hubby got the Jager Schnitzel. Both were topped with sauce and mushrooms - but entirely different. The Rahmschitzel was breaded veal and had a white creamy mushroom sauce. So delicious! And the Jager one was pan-seared veal with a demi-glace sauce. Outstanding as expected...I was literally drooling at every plate that passed me by. Topped my meal with some hard cider and I was golden. Stuffed and happy! Plattduetsche Park is so rich in history and they have established roots in the community going back 100+ years (established in 1901). What a fantastic place to be - come for the great cuisine and the culture. No special occasion needed. (Reservations suggested for The Hive restaurant - opens daily starting at 3PM). BTW, the Ompahfest (festival) is on Sept. 20th, 2026. Zum Wohl!

There was barely any room for our plates and glasses. Even though it was a Mother's Day event, there was not a kids' menu- which makes no sense bc you know kids will be at this event! Two of our dishes had to be sent back because they were cold. It's nice that they hire the local kids and the service was good. Overall, just a bad experience. I got there early to snag a table, and the team was already hard at work with nearly the entire beergarden packed with fans. The hostess Jenna was an absolute rockstar all night - I don't think she stopped moving or smiling! Not only was she seating guests with poise and insane amounts of charm, but she was also running food and drinks to make sure guests weren't waiting for their orders - in fact, despite there being more than 250 people in the beergarden, we never waited more than 4 minutes for drinks and 12 minutes for food which is pretty impressive given how busy they were inside and outside. We were served by Lana, who legit might have been the nicest, friendliest, most engaging server I have ever met in New York City, and I am not being overly dramatic here. She handled her insanely large section with aplomb, took the time to actually learn our names and address us by names when asking if we wanted to order anything, checked in on us every few minutes even if we did not need anything, and despite likely being tired from all of the guests, the running of food and drinks, and the hustling, she was cracking jokes all night through her radiant and starry smile, and making our group feel like the most important people there despite the fact that we were just three regular dudes enjoying a basketball game. Her attentiveness and personality alone are worth requesting to sit in her section at all times. Food was solid on this trip - our table ordered a half-pound burger which was cooked and seasoned perfectly (came with fries and toppings), mozzarella sticks which were piping hot with a nice crunch on the exterior, waffle fries (had to get them again they were too good last trip), and honey BBQ wings, which although they weren't very meaty (not their fault since I am assuming they didn't butcher the wings in-house - could have just been a lean batch from the supplier), the sauce was addictive and delicious and I found myself dipping everything we ordered into it so it wouldn't go to waste - order the Honey BBQ! All beers came out cold and rapidly (Cobblestones uses plastic for half liter beers when the beergarden is saturated with guests, just be prepared for that - makes sense because of the volume). The rest of the staff was incredible given the chaos. Beergarden manager Pete made it a point to check in on us a couple of times and was very appreciative of all of the guests coming for the game, and you can tell he steers the ship effectively because everyone in the beergarden was focused, attentive, and in the zone during what many bars would be challenged to handle. One final thought - my two friends who came with me (who are NOT "let's go out drinking at night" type of guys) asked me when we are coming back for a Friday or Saturday night - they loved the atmosphere, loved the friendly service from Lana, and loved the food and drinks. The answer? very soon! Thank you Cobblestones!
