I really loved the aesthetic of the restaurant. There was such a multitude of house plants that truly made you feel as though the walls were alive. I ordered cranberry sour ale with a lotus root burger for my entree. Everything tasted really fresh and well prepared. The only drawback was that I wish there were more plant based options and there was also no hot sauce, which should be a staple in any establishment. I would have loved some more condiments and maybe a veggie ramen; but again everything I did have was very well done. I would certainly visit again! read more

Came here for "Mister Sunday" Adventures in Flight, party/DJ set/whatever you want to call it. For these Sunday parties, you definitely come here for the music. The sound system is on point, and they don't blast it to obscene volumes, which is refreshing. The crowd is eclectic, embracing PLUR, and the dance floor is always poppin'. Love the no-cell-phones-while-dancing policy. Plenty of space to lounge, if you need a break from dancing. Drinks are reasonably priced for NYC. Good beers. "Ask around" and you may be able to score a happy hour special. read more

I came here for the everyday people party a few months ago and wasn't sure what to expect. It was a large outdoor space with lots of tables and a good number of umbrellas/shaded areas. They had a few bars to get drinks from along with a food truck that had a variety of items to choose from. The DJ and music was great and my friends and I had a good time. Tents flank the two walls that delivery eats and drinks like sentinels and with the same attitude. Do not get your hopes dashed by their dismissive attitude. The order will be hot and fresh with a stern delivery by the chef. PS they don't have MAYO. That's BYOM here. The bartender has the same attitude but the can is cold and the brat and burger was hot and of quality! The buns on both were soft, white, and fresh (kinda like the people ;) and the side salad was garden fresh arugula, with red onion, chick peas, and lots of vinaigrette! For everyone else, you'll wonder why you don't live in Rhode Island after consuming a six-pack. A concrete, all-weather Ping-Pong table and several picnic tables and benches complement the manicured gravel-and-grass grounds, and umbrellas provide respite from the summer heat. No doubt the air-conditioned bathroom trailer does too! For all the parents in the area, you'll be thankful they open early and that there's only one entrance, so you can make sure your mini-me doesn't wander off to explore the otherwise mostly industrial neighborhood. An awesome new beer garden in Ridgewood right in the beginning of summer. Awesome. There is a ton of tables and space to hangout on the grass. They have a lot of different beers, and specials and also have a "beat" burger for the vegetarians. This place has only been opened for two-three days and it's been very crowded with a people traveling from other neighborhoods joining in on the fun. I've had many fun nights here in the summer and no complaints there. This review is based solely on my experience at the "planetarium" this past Sunday. I didn't mind the $20 cover because I assumed it would scare away the people who wouldn't get the vibe. I actually liked the "no cell phones in the listening area" rule. And that talking loud was widely discouraged. The vibe is chill, relaxed Sunday with incense and a fog machine and plants everywhere and pretty lighting. Just what you would expect from this neighborhood. The part that first put a foul taste in my mouth was, well, the foul-tasting wine. I don't mind paying $8 for a glass of wine. I know it's New York. But $8 for a 4oz pour of week-old wine? Yeah, now I'm annoyed. I mentioned this to the bartender and he goes to replace my wine with a different 1/2 open bottle of wine that has probably also been open for a week. So now I just request the House wine because I'm sure they go through it more often. Still got a 4oz pour... and still not a fresh bottle. The "Army of One" (brown basmati, royal trumpet mushrooms, yellow lentils, $9 with an egg +$2) was an army of undercooked basmati and lentils. The mushrooms were so over cooked they were difficult to chew. There was no flavor or seasoning to any of this. Needless to say I didn't bother trying any other fare here. The choice of complementary cucumber/lemon/orange infused water was... cute? Or maybe it was just hipster enough to wash down the spoilt wine and undercooked rice. read more

Definitely the best spot to meet up with large groups during warmer months, but it's also full of foreign tourists who treat it like a Union Pool style meat market. Huge yard, games, excellent DJs, good sound system, etc. It's like a dirtier version of LA. Or a less-dirty version of Berlin. Take your pick! The indoor space is really nice for weeknight and/or special events. Lines can get a little nutty for weekend primetime, and the crowd inside gets a little bit bro-zone sometimes. I've been here twice now. The first time was last summer - I had a great time and swore I'd become a regular, but the hangover I endured the next morning must have clouded my memory. Regardless, I had fun and was thankful to find a cool outdoor space that is not too crowded where I can bring my dog. I went again recently on a Saturday around 6pm for a friend's birthday and was reminded of my prior opinion of the place. It is very large, plenty of room for stretching out, dancing, playing ping pong (oh yeah, they have games too), scratching a fury friend on the head, etc. Just don't overdress or wear nice shoes - keep it casual because the dirt you kick up with your feet can really travel (as evidenced by my black espadrills which are now gray). The crowd there is very chill, most people in their 30s and 40s, but I saw a teenage girl taking photos of people dancing and a few other young hipster types. Overall though, it's not crowded with hipsters in the least - it's a really nice mix of people actually. The music can be hit or miss, but it's mostly hit, and the bathrooms are the cleanest most well stocked trailer bathrooms I've ever been in. The food and drink situation flows very well and I've never waited for more than a few minutes. On top of the efficiency, the food and drinks are actually really delicious and a large selection for every member of your group. Didn't manage to make it to the indoors space this time, but I will check that out next time. I'll definitely be back at some point, despite it being plenty far away from where I normally hang out. 3/15/18 Traveling from the Bronx all the way to a spot where it's not easy to find looking like a garage. It is blended with auto shops in an area where you feel like you have no business being in. No signage, nothing fancy on the outside but when you figure it out that you're in the right spot & step inside, you're going to enjoy it. Nice open space and great venue. Show up for food service and you're going to like eating what they have on the menu. Had fried chicken sandwich & fries w/ spicy mayo. That was tasty. Drinks was great including non- alcoholic drinks (try the St. Margaret and Black lemonade). Eliza is a great bartender so if you're there Friday and Saturday (or every other Thursday) check her out. Around 9:30pm, tables on the dance area are removed so people can dance and they have threw away my drink :-( not cool! They have a problem with anyone on the phone in the dance area. Sounds like Output to me. I had a great time so I will return but ladies don't wear sandals unless you like to feel broken glass and mud. read more

I was excited to come here and greatly appreciative of the introduction at the entrance that reminded us to be respectful of others. The club inside was really cool and worth the trip. However half my party including myself were not given wristbands though we had tickets that were scanned. We went to the outdoor portion and were not let back in. This would have been fine but the folks at the door were extremely rude and disrespectful and we were only trying to explain the situation and understand next steps. We had barely gotten a word out before we were snapped at. One man/male presenting person mocked our question and insinuated we were lying, even after we showed out ticket. Multiple people were rude to us. I understand mistakes happen;it was the way in which we were spoken that was upsetting. They were acting like we broke in, and insinuated as much. I spent $60 for my ticket. We had to go back outside and get wristbands, which again is fine and i understand. But it was the way that it was handled that was upsetting. I was talking to the kind individual from the entrance who had given us the introduction originally and had explained the rules to us. To my surprise, the person rolled their eyes at me and said "you'll get your wristband." It's not about the wristbands. It was the manner in which we were spoken to. It was so hypocritical to the original concept of the space and how nowadays presents itself. This was such a disappointment. After being let in again I said goodbye to my friends and left. There was no way I would continue to spend my money there after being made to feel small and stupid. And yes, I can't help it. I let them make me feel this way. Attended a party here yesterday. This is a very eclectic vibe. There were children's parties, dogs, weeds (not the smoking kind), dirt, food and drinks. The weirdest combination for a bar by far in my opinion. The DJ was playing some good throwback music. There was a good drink selection. The food was pretty good except they ran out of things quickly. That would be the downside for me. The outdoor space is cool and very very casual. I went to see Tony Humphries DJ here. The event was at 10pm and, since this place doubles as a restaurant prior to nighttime events, there was a thick fog that smelled like smoked meat. I don't mean to be nit-picky, but, man, it did not set a good mood for having a nightlife experience. The indoor portion was not air conditioned, or poorly air conditioned, and there was absolutely no light. It was like a bad haunted house. My wife and I ended up hanging outside most of the night, which was a shame, because we really wanted to hear Tony DJ. The crowd was pretty much there to drink and BS, there was some dancing happening, but it seemed like most people were there just to sit around and talk. Not my cup of tea. We were also accosted by a particularly "out of it" patron, but that is not particularly the fault of the venue. Just not psyched about this locale. I went here because Mister Sunday/Saturday moved here and I loved the Industry City party, so thought it would be that same vibe. Definitely not. Too bad. read more

Absolutely gorgeous. This place doesn't even feel like it's located in New York City! Ridgewood was once somewhere I never even drove through, I can't believe the area is now so much more alive ! The area isn't the best and may seem a tad sketchy. This place doesn't really have a sign however, you can't miss it because of the lights and such. Upon arrival, the bouncers ID you and then you're welcome to go on your way. It's almost as if you're just hanging out in someone's backyard. There's table tennis down to the back and A L O T of seating areas. There's 2 stations : 1 for food and 1 for drinks. The food selection isn't very large however; it is perf for munching while dranking. My friend got the margarita $10- she said it was strong. I opted for a coke bc well (designated driver) ... ah, life. I hated the selection of music .. it was just not my thang but hey; the hipsters loved that stuff. There do have movie nights on Wednesdays and a selection of classes/various activities on a daily basis. I absolutely loved the ambiance of this place. I also really liked that the floor was covered with something. . That way you weren't directly on dirt! Def, a must go. Very large with lots of available seats. The website claims to be a "safe place" intolerable of unwelcome touching or violence, yet after verbalizing numerous concerns for my safety to a member of management I was laughed at and disregarded. What a bizarre, random little place. Go ahead and look up the address on Google street view--I'll wait. Do you see a weird warehouse? Yeah, that's not it. Do you see a shiny, corrugated fence next to that warehouse? Guess what's on the other side? Nowadays! When you actually pass through the gate, you're greeted with a little oasis that's actually quite pleasant. They accept cards, which is a plus already. They also have some food offerings as well as some delicious fountain soda, which makes the lack of any beer on tap even more peculiar (unless I was misinformed?). I'd imagine that this location is out of the way for most people not in Bushwick or Ridgewood, but if you happen to be in the area and want a cool place to grab some shade, go for it. The really nice folks at the bar told me they wanted to start up a movie night, and I think that would be the most amazing thing. Fingers crossed for that! Nowadays, you're pretty good. This beautiful back yard venue is perfect for any group or any occasion, but pay attention to what night you go. Most days, the lot has a very laid back feel, good beer, lots of space, lots of stuff to do. Some nights, like sundays for instance, the garden blows up and evolves into a crazy dance party. The beer selection is great, with a few good cider and wine options. I've only gotten sips of the cocktails but based on the sips they're pretty good too. As far as food, it's a step above your average food truck (in a good way) with rich buns for sausages, tasty quinoa bowls, and classically affordable tacos. I'd say go with a group, grab a game from the bar, and let everyone figure out their own drink and food situation. This is a beacon for the neighborhood and definitely worth going a little out of your way for. A huge outdoor space in the boroughs is a rarity, and they nailed the aesthetic. read more

This may be my new favorite summer spot. Came here last Saturday night with a large group for my birthday. We were able to get two picnic tables together and had the best time. Great beer selection (and reasonably priced), super clean, food truck options were delicious, bathrooms were decent for glorified port-o-potties, and renting the games from the bar was a plus. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because I started the night with a Moscow mule and it was terrible; premade, tiny and $9. We didn't do anything else except sit there chatting over beer, which we purchased from their bar. He storms over to try to pick a fight, with the bouncer next to him. There was a person explaining the situation--that we weren't drinking liquor. Then the manager raged out wanted to kick him out and demanded an apology (he couldn't even tell us why he wants an apology). Everyone was calm except him. Review for the outdoor space only--seriously some of the least friendly bartenders I've ever encountered. Terribly slow service with major attitude. Food is hit or miss, cross your fingers that the dude in the food truck isn't face timing his roommate and that their ticketing system doesn't malfunction, or else you're out of luck, no food. The margaritas varied in strength, seems like the second batch we got was really sweet and syrupy (like they didn't mix the ingredients enough and we got the dregs of a bottle?). If you're a mosquito, you'll love this place--very crowded. They provide bugspray gratis, but it doesn't help much. On the bright side, their trailer bathrooms may smell terrible as you walk towards them but once inside, they're air conditioned and fresh smelling, phew! It's the little things, right? read more

An absolute gem. My gf lives around here and so decided to go for a drink. They have a truck that cooks food if u want. I got the chicken Bahn MI bowl and the fries. Fries were thick steak fresh fries. The chicken bowl was a bit disappointing. The rice was overcooked as well as the chicken. But the atmosphere was everything. Hammocks and benches.
