Average at best. Moved to HOUSTON less than a year and the only Mexican restaurant worth going to is El Tiempo. The style most/ all restaurants call Mexican is not authentic or traditional. Every where you go the call Huevos Rancheros = eggs with salsa on top.... no fried corn tortilla underneath , no top with cheese ... seriously I can put my own salsa on top of my eggs... and at that it's room temperature to cold. read more

Good old Tex-Mex. Lunch special = cheap! So that's a plus! I got the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas with rice and refried beans! The food is average... But I like the fact that they bring 3 different salsas with the chips! The salsa was better than the meal.. If your looking for a decent meal around 6 bucks this is fine! Traveling here from Seattle we found this little gem thanks to yelp. Compared to what we have this place has some serious authentic Mexican food. The flavors were abundant, and the potions were very large for the price. The people were super friendly and accommodating. I just wish we were in a position to call this a regular stop. read more

Noyola's looks to be a little hole-in-the-wall that has been around for a long time. We decided to try it for something new after seeing the reviews on yelp. I love the taco sandwich (I can't remember what it's called). My husband was able to describe to the server something he used to order up in WA when we lived up there and they knew exactly what he wanted and made it up for him. That's great service! Very friendly servers and they're attentive which is always nice. This has become a favorite place for us when we're craving Mexican food. read more

Worst Mexican breakfast I've ever had. Portion size is way to small for the money. I couldn't even taste the chorizo in the chorizo and eggs plate. Refried beans were watery and the pico had no peppers or cilantro. I feel badly for writing this because the service was great. Unfortunately, this place cannot be recommended. read more

Been coming here for more than 10 years - usually one or twice a month for lunch or dinner - and *never* been disappointed. Excellent food with good, but not extreme, portion sizes. Friendly, attentive staff and a casual atmosphere make this place a great lunchtime getaway or a unwind after work dinner spot. Breakfast served all day long, but I always go for the chimichanga or the fajitas. Chips and salsa are "never-ending" and super fresh and tasty. Mexican coke in a bottle is great to wash it all down, too! read more

Everything was great! Juan and his staff were great even though we got there 30 min until closing. The stuffed avocado was great, shrimp enchiladas was good too. Wifey said the tacos were flavorful. My only complaint was the tamale it was slightly overcooked but acceptable being it was so late before closing. Will most definitely be back with the family again! read more

We went to this restaurants through Yelp. Ambiance was great. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food on the other hand was average. Chips was cold and none of the Sauces were any good. I ordered stuffed peppers with chicken. There was no seasoning in it. Beans and rice just taste like just boiled !! No seasoning.!! Pepper was so soggy and when I cut the bite of it the chicken it was all watery. Again it had no taste!! Coffee was really good though. read more

Food was ok. I had gorditas. It was not as spicy as I would have liked but it's not the worst I've ever had for sure. If based on the food alone, I would give 2 stars, but the service was really, really good which is why I'm giving it 3. The food arrived fast; my water was refilled BEFORE I was out, and the waiter left us alone for the most part but was watching for any sign we needed anything. Super good! We are quite the connoisseurs of Mexican Food. We grew up in a mostly Hispanic area in California, and are always looking for a good family-run restaurant. The menu is pretty extensive. The salsas are good. The service is friendly. We have had several different plates and have yet to be disappointed. We have been 2-3 times now and it never seems very busy, but they have told me they are very busy on the weekends. We usually end up going on the weekday evenings. We are very pleased to have found a local, family owned restaurant with great Mexican food! read more

Where do I even start with this? I cannot even recall the last time I was so thoroughly disappointed with a meal that I am hesitant to even make a return trip. Based on the reviews, and the yelpers love us sticker in the window, I thought it was going to be a great lunch, or at least a good one. I was actually really wrong. It was totally empty inside, aside from the staff sitting at an empty table. Which should have been maybe a little red flag but who am I to judge, right? The first complaint is the menu itself; abysmal, disorganized, overly complicated. I'm a picky eater, and if I have to ask you four times to come back because I don't know what I'm looking at, let alone want to eat, something is not right. My next complaint is that the food came out shockingly fast. Like faster than I figured out what to order. Even if we were the only people in the restaurant it should not have been ready that fast. Like, food slapped from a hotel pan, on to a plate, and then into a microwave fast. Which leads to my third complaint, the food was not good. I ordered one thing, and basically got three pieces of meat, lettuce and beans over a taco bowl that got extra soggy extra fast. I'm glad I didn't order no lettuce because then I would have gotten a mostly empty plate. Instead I just scraped through it trying to find something edible. The people are really nice but the food is terrible for the price. I order chicken enchiladas verdes (half order). My rice was hard and tasted like plastic. The establishment was clean. The staff is very friendly and provides great service. The salsa is good and spicy. I had the enchiladas, which were good. I particularly loved the refried beans. If I could give negative -5 stars I would (most disgusting Mexican food we have ever eaten). Took one bite of cheese enchiladas and was God awful (couldn't even swallow the bite)!!! Wife had chicken gorditias and the chicken tasted freezer burned with no hint of any kind of seasoning..! First and LAST time to ever eat at Noyola's! Started going to Noyolas when it was Carlos. Juan and family have a great place to eat without all the commercial atmosphere. My recommendation is to explore the menu, they have many dishes that most people have not tried, Burrito Surpresso or the Gold Margarita. Grilled shrimp is the best! Came through Houston for a few quick meetings. Stopped in based on reviews. It's a hole-in-the-wall as described by fellow reviewers, so I even though there was no one else in the restaurant, I stayed. I ordered the Mexican Plate, which came with a beef taco, cheese enchilada, tamale, rice and beans. Everything but the taco came out in the same plate and it was all melted together. The plate was piping hot, a sign to me that the plate had been made previously and reheated. The rice was definitely reheated. I was so disappointed.
