I really wanted to like this place. I've been on a nail salon hunt to find a place I can be loyal to. I initially was not going to write a yelp review I figured it was just another miss and I would move onto finding the next. The 3 stars are strictly for the two ladies that were helpful to me during the time I was there. I went in asking for something similar to a photo posted here on their yelp. Unfortunately either only 1 person (not sure who) knows how to do everything in the photo examples they have posted on their yelp and website, or the work doesn't belong to any of the employees. I would hope they didn't just steal really good nail photos posing them as their own. Another reason I chose this salon was because they are Licensed Verified on here. I've came across a few that have non licensed nail techs doing services. I already had acrylic on so I left it up to the artist they put me with if he wanted to do a fill or remove and start fresh. I didn't mind either way. He began to remove my acrylic nails without even soaking them and allowing them to sit in foil to soften up. Didn't do that at all, just starting ripping my acrylic nails off of my weak natural nail. Extremely painful. The lady next to him told him I was hurting and to stop. He got through maybe 2-3 nails removing that way until I asked him to stop and to soak them because it hurt. Then he proceeds to clip down my natural nails and CLIPPED MY SKIN! He cut too far down with the nail clippers causing more pain with part of the nail hanging from my skin. He kept moving it up and down and I kept saying that hurts please stop. The minute the nail came off my skin it started bleeding. After that he got very frustrated, he wrapped the rest of my acrylic nails with acetone and foil, he got up and walk off to the back and never came back out. I sat there for a while until someone became available to help me. I showed her the same photo as before, one that they have uploaded and she didn't seem confident to be able to do it so I opted for just simple French tips. I had been there for a good two hours for an acrylic set of French tips. The ladies apologized for the way the male artist behaved. The vibe was pretty tense in there. Now that my nail is growing the cut under my nail is still hurting and keeps getting re-injured and it's unfortunate. I still paid full price. And I'll never go back. I just hope he thoroughly sanitized the tools that made me bleed. read more

She does a great job and even recommends other things if I can't make up my mind. I've had my pedi done here a few times with different girls and my white toes always look fresh & crisp---the way I like them. Did a last minute walk-in and the employees were very kind to slot me in. I got a brown cat-eye gel-x design that took about 1.5 hrs. I enjoyed the fact they had a large screen TV that I could look at while they were doing my nails. My technician did a good job, though the final finish was a bit thick due to us trying to get the right color. They offered me water throughout the session, and it still felt quite lively towards the end of their work day. My total was around $90 - they take card or cash. I've also gotten the builder gel overlay as well with several fills by Kevin and they always looked great. He's really good with sculpting and polishing the nails. I was in a bind and decided to try this salon out. They were just opening up and there were no customers inside upon my arrival. I should have known from the cold greeting that I received that this was not the place for me to be. I was told to have a seat. There was a Buddha altar set up right in front of where I was sitting and one of the technicians lit incense which smelled REALLY strong and was blowing right in front of me. WHY would anyone do that? It was just downhill from there. The "language barrier" excuses. Giving me the WORST nail color options to look at. Picking out a color (it was Orange) which I did NOT pick out. As a matter of fact NO WHERE NEAR THAT! I had to get my nail polish on my feet removed and not at least having the feet soaking to soften them up? Usually a place will have one foot soaking in water while they work on the other foot. Talking loudly to each other in Vietnamese and occasionally one would look at me while they were talking and laughing. It was rude and unacceptable. By the time the manager arrived I was about to "go there" but she was pleasant enough and apologetic. I wanted to just start my nails again from scratch with no gel or builder foundation. Like a fool I let her talk me into getting the builder gel. Some of the polish is already chipping and the polish looks too thick and I believe the quality of the polish used was poor so I am going to find a new place to have this garbage taken off of my nails and start the slow but NOT impossible process of starting from scratch with REGULAR manicured nails that will initially be weak from the grinding and toxic chemicals that I have subjected them to but in time I KNOW will be strong again! I am DONE dealing with fake, greedy, manipulative nail salons that when you come in as a new customer most often they try to pawn their WORST workers off on you and then get an attitude when you politely call them out on it and request a more experienced technician. I have been getting my nails done for over 40 years! Even if Im not getting the "deluxe" pedicure why should my feet still be dry with dead skin on them? Why should my nail polish ALREADY be peeling after only ONE week? read more

As for my Gelx manicure, Anne did a great job nailing the design I wanted but just a day after my gems started to just fall off. Worse experience ever. I booked an appointment at 10:45 for a mani/pedi. I haven't did a spa day in a while, so today was special because my birthday is (was) the next day and my graduation the next week. The timing of getting seen wasn't the problem. It's the nasty looks from the salon manager that was creeping me out. I was the only dude getting a service, and I wanted a spa pedi and a mani with buff and shine. While getting my pedicure, the nail tech was using one of the tools and stabs me in the corner of my big toe. When I looked at her and said ouch, she starts petting my toe like it's a dog, "it's ok." No lady, it's not ok. As the service continues, a young walks in wanting a gel x mani and gel French tip pedi. One of the nail tech just finished a client, and was heading over to do my mani. Then the manager/owner told her to stop doing my mani and to get started on the young lady. I told them I don't have time, and that I didn't want it anymore. She then proceeded to do it and said no I'll do it. That was the fastest, most sloppiest mani I've ever had! I kept getting a dirty look from the manager/owner, when I eventually said, "I don't want the buff just do the cuticle oil and that's it." The nail tech tried to tell me she'd do it, but I said no. They spoke to each other over me, and then she finished. $72 dollars later, a 5yr old could've done a better job and gave me clear polish. Note, I'm a licensed cosmetologist with over 10 years of experience working in SF, with beauty brands, etc. When I say worst experience, my ring finger still has a bit of previous gel on it that she didn't take off and the nail of big toe that she stabbed is slanted. I was a walk in first-time customer yesterday and was not impressed. As a salon trying to gain business I would hope to feel welcomed and did not. Many staff were on their phones scrolling, and to second another review on Yelp, watching their phone while they were doing a customer's nails. "That's $15 extra." Was a common phrase for customers, including myself, when inquiring about services which are standard at other salons. If you want customers nails to look awesome and their friends to notice and ask, "where did you get your nails done?" Then make sure we represent your salon well by having beautiful manicures! You'll get more business. I left with a subpar manicure with rough cuticles because I didn't want to "pay extra". Include the extra touches that don't take much time and make the difference- cuticle trimming, hand massage to finish. Make me want to brag about your salon to others- especially as a first-timer. I came in for an acrylic fill and had my nails done by Kevin. He did a great job--very detailed and took his time to make sure the shape and finish looked clean and natural. Throughout the appointment, he was super attentive, constantly checking in to make sure I liked how everything looked and asking if I wanted anything adjusted. I really appreciated that level of care. My only hesitation is the price--$95 for an acrylic fill felt a bit steep, especially since I was expecting something closer to $80 based on what I've paid elsewhere. Booked an appointment yesterday for 9:30am. Arrived early about 9:20am when I walked in I said good morning and let them know I had a 9:30am confirmed appointment with Kevin. I was told Kevin was on vacation. At that time I asked if someone else would be able to do my nails as they are my natural nails with acrylic overlay that's too thick and all I needed was for them to be thinned out to look more like my natural nails. They acted as if they didn't understand and said I could sit down and wait but they don't know how long I might be waiting! I say okay. I take a seat. About 6 or 7 other women walk in who also say they have 9:30am appointments. I sit for a little bit longer as I too have an appointment and am waiting to be seated.
