Highly dissatisfied with my most recent experience here! Took my car in for an oil change. When checking in and having to give my cars information they claimed that due to their system my car required synthetic oil. I've never put synthetic oil in my car! After having to put my foot down and stating I wanted conventional oil put in my car they still charged and put synthetic oil in! I'm livid! I feel like every time I've gone in there recently I've had issues on top of them calling me halfway through work being done and trying to claim something else is wrong with the car and asking if I want it done while it's there after I've already stated in the beginning that it's only there for what I asked for. I was told when I got an inspection nearby that my tires were wearing, so I went to NTB a.k.a. Mavis and got two new tires put on. During that process, they apparently jacked up my alignment, and then proceeded to tell me my alignment was messed up, my brakes were shot, and my struts also. I have never trusted anyone other than our family mechanic, so I took my car to them (Mervs), and sure enough they told me that what NTB told me was completely false, in fact, I paid for NTB to fix my alignment and they made it worse. So I had to pay again to have it fixed at my mechanic, but luckily nothing else was actually wrong with my car even though they (NTB/Mavis) quoted me almost $2000 to fix something that wasn't even wrong. Additionally, the customer service there was just terrible other than one gentleman who tends to answer the phones and transfer calls, he was nice I literally am even on the fence buying tires from these guys ever again, I would never let them work on my car otherwise! read more

Horrible service, it took them 8 hours to change my tires. At around hour 4 of waiting I called in to see how the car was and they admitted that they forgot my car was there and that they would begin working on it right away. 4 hours after that I finally got my car back. The next day I realized that they had completely broken the tires TPMS system and I then had to come back in for them to redo their work. Would not recommend and will not return. read more

Are you a customer of NTB Tire and Service, also known as Tire Kingdom, or Merchant's Auto due to a string of mergers? I've been a regular customer of theirs since 1978. But they have now merged with a new company named Mavis. MAVIS IS AN UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST COMPANY! We bought a multi year alignment package from NTB but Mavis will not honor it. They say they only have saved some of the records from NTB and since they don't have ours, we're out of luck. Nothing they can do about it, which is, of course, a total lie. They can see that we had an alignment done last year under the plan. Any decent company would go ahead and honor the plan we paid for. But these people are not decent. I, after 45 years as their customer, after going there first when shopping for tires, going there for most oil changes and other services, will never be a customer of theirs again under any circumstances. Beware of these people. If you liked the company before, this is not the same company that used to take care of you. The new owners are there to maximize their cash flow with little regard for their customers. They are very shortsighted and their customers will pay the price for their shortsightedness. Tires kept deflating so took it to NTB (Rolling Rd); they said they'd look for 'nails', etc...although I said I hadn't run over any nails, but anyway, while I was waiting for an Uber, a lady came in and had a litany of complaints (they put the wrong size tires on her car, etc...). I waited for their assessment until the next day, which was "two holes in two tires and not sure about the third"; said one had a 'nail' which seems to be their favorite 'assessment'. Needed two to three new tires. I didn't really trust them (and the front desk is nuts) so took it somewhere else. No holes in any tires. It was the TPMS sensors in 3 tires. Not sure if that person was just lying or incompetent? (Not a professional atmosphere, either....can hear people swearing in the shop, etc....yikes.) If the car needed three new tires, I still wouldn't have been comfortable spending money there. read more

I had to get four new tires on my vehicle along with what I believe they called tire rods which had rusted. I received Pricing from the Ford dealership when I went in for my free oil change. Their pricing was exorbitant! The next morning I called NTB and they quoted me what the price would be for four new tires and repair of the tire rods and it was much lower than what the dealership had stated. The NTB store also was able to take care of it that afternoon and had the car ready before they closed. The manager that assisted me goes by the name of JD and he's very knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. read more

My wife brought in her 2014 Toyota Carolla; and they said she needed rotors Brake pads and a brake fluid change; the brake was not squeaking, the rotors were well within tolerance, and gave her a quote for over $700, our mechanic checked out the vehicle, and said her brake fluid was clean, the rotors were within tolerance. Very satisfied that I brought my car here. I drive a GTI that I've babied to get new tires for the winter. When I came in Chris helped me with a good personality. Suggested the type of tires I should use that would be most cost effective and good for the roads. About 10 minutes later the manger Ali stoped my car before entering the bat because he noticed it was lowered. Asked the driver to pull it into the other bay where it would let damaged. I walked over the the manger and thanked him for that. He then told me when he was younger he was into the racing scene like I was. Great service! I have my fiancé bring her GTI here for oil changes and maintenance regularly and they never disappoint. They get her in and out fast and they are super friendly. They were able to fix her oil pressure issue and that's not easy with a German car! Bring my truck in all the time! Got tires done for a good deal and regular maintenance. Steve and Ali are always friendly and communicate well with estimates and jobs. Some jobs may take some time but you can be sure they do it right the first time. Do not go here for an inspection - they will look for ways to fail you to try to sell you tires. Took my failure sticker to another shop that not only passed me, but found a loose tie rod that is under warranty. They wouldn't even plug the leak in my tire, but the other shop did. Paid 70 for a synthetic oil change. They stripped the drain plug and it was so tight it must have been done w an air tool (which you shouldn't use on a drain plug). I changed the oil and it leaked out the drain plug. Inept w no honor. I'm now taking it elsewhere to get drain pan replaced and WILL take them to court read more

They ran a black Friday special and was given the choice to pay for replacing my tires at the store instead of paying during the order. NTB sold me three trailer tires for my boat trailer and installed them on my rims. One would not hold air because the rim was had some rust in the inside. I took it back and they said they fixed it, but it still did not hold air. I did not ask for anything for free, but instead only asked if they could order a new rim and install the tire. At that point they told me they did not work on trailer tires. At that point i had spent several hundred dollars at their store (on trailer tires) and they were essentially refusing to help me. I asked where they would recommend that I go to get a replacement rim. The guy on the phone got snarky and said "Try google." read more

I got new tires put on my pick up. I was told it would be about 1hr. 30 so i just waited there. It ended up being 3hrs. i was going down the road and the truck started shaking due to the tires not being balanced right. i took it back and they rebalanced them and told me that 2 of the rims were slightly bent and that they were still usable. They told me they put them on the back of the truck so that it wouldn't be felt as much. It's still a pretty violent shake. I believe that they accidentally bent them when they replaced the tires because it wasn't shaking before i took it in the first time. Hopefully NTB will do the right thing and replace the 2 rims. Wish I could give it ZERO STARs!!! Dropped my car off for a tire change, waited inside for twenty minutes gave me my car with a dent on the side. Almost 1k worth of damage and the manager lied about it during the claim investigation. Will never be coming back here and will be telling all the military communities to not do business with NTB! Just like other legacy car service centers, this place should have just told me upfront that they can't work on Tesla cars. Instead of giving attitude and doing a poor job in replacing something simple as a tire (which they specialize on). I brought my Tesla hear because I had a nail and needed 1 new tire and the Tesla service center appointment was too far in the future. JD was very nice and welcoming when I made the appointment but the remaining employees kept shaking their head because it's a Tesla. They replaced the tire but installed it backwards and didn't even inflate the tire properly. It started shaking after I picked it up. Next day I brought it to get fixed and after fixing the issue, I was told that they as a company decided not to service Tesla anymore. I will reach out to NTB corporation to confirm this statement. Instead of embracing the changes to electric cars which will fill up this city, they are rejecting paying customers. I was hoping to use them for breaks and tires for my Tesla in the future. Wanted to thank the team here as my 6 year old and I came in to get a battery due to cold weather. Coming in, I thought I needed an alternator because my battery died a few times this week and that's what my husband said. JD, who works the front desk, could not have been friendlier and more helpful in patiently advising me on tire purchase options. He walked through a variety of options and even gave his honest recommendation on a less expensive solution than what he could have recommended. Don't go here for brakes! I'm used to good service from NTB. I go to the Fairfax shop for tires and they've done an excellent job over the years. But when the brakes went out on my Tahoe in Springfield, this NTB shop was the most convenient. Unfortunately, they did such a poor job that I need the same work done less than seven months later. They charged me $1,400-plus in February. The brakes are out again and new mechanic says whoever last worked on them did shoddy work. He's completely redoing the job and charging much less -- $1,000. Normally. This is my go to place for my vehicles. I've been going here since 2012 when I moved to this area from Alexandria. All of the service people have been awesome, especially the one front desk person, possibly named J.D? But I stopped by this past Friday, March 29, 2019, in the afternoon to get a headlight replaced and felt so uncomfortable that even though I made an appointment with them for Saturday, March 30, I decided to cancel it and go elsewhere. I realize that weekends are extremely busy times and had no problem with waiting or coming back another day but the counter person was rude. I came in and stayed pleasant throughout our exchange and even told him I how I had just came from the Auto Store and that Peter said to tell him hi. I get that people can have an off day but this guy stayed unpleasant throughout our whole exchange and like I said, it made me cancel my entire appointment and go elsewhere. Service here continues to disappoint. I have 2 cars I have regularly serviced here the last 3 years. Today is the last time I will bring one of my cars here. The main reason is that their appointment system does not work. Although I've made appoints for my last 4 oils changes, each change has taken over 2 hours to complete. They often don't have the parts on hand when I arrive. Today I have been waiting 2.5 hours and my car is not ready. If you value your time, do not bring your car here for service. read more
