Jesse was ok at first , right after he took it over from Ron, about 3 years ago but has gone completely down hill...He doesn't return phone calls unless he's in your pocket doing something for you that day $$$.. His pool cleaners are in and out in about 20 minutes,do a crap job, continue to add Acid to our pool EVERY WEEK, FOR LAST YEAR OR SO, INSTEAD OF SOLVING THE PROBLEM!!We all know a pool can't be brushed, vacuumed, filter changed,baskets cleaned in 20-25 minutes,, that's why they have been fired, I'll do it myself now that I'm retired.... I used them last spring and summer, and I had a great experience with their technicians. They are also very quick to respond online which is great. I only had a couple minor issues with them which I list below. Pros: Quick, high quality services for a great price. Their technicians are skilled, professional, and intelligent. Always had a great attitude and were quick to answer all the questions I had. Pay was very reasonable, and I always had a great looking pool that looked like new. They installed a new pool pump for me, gave great advice on how to take care of my pool, and never once had any issues with their technicians. Cons: The services used to pay were complicated, which led to confusion and frustration. They were initially very understanding but my failure to adapt to it led to some late payments (which I thought were paid) and resulted in me ending the services. I believe shortly after I stopped using Nu Wave they changed the services they used to process payments so you should not have to deal with the same issues I had to. Jesse and his team are great. I just purchased a home in Oro Valley and they have been amazing in offering suggestions and actions. They have been doing our weekly pool service, just installed a new pool light, and currently doing a drain and refresh as well. Really unhappy with how Jesse from Nu Wave handled my pool. He agreed to do a chemical service only. On Tuesday my pool looked murky and I had people coming in on VRBO to rent on Wednesday. I called to ask if he could help me out and he refused and told me he didn't like doing chemical service only and basically would not service my pool any more. We used Jesse for a little over a year. Unfortunately, I cannot give his company a good review. Our experience was that as long as his techs cleaned the pool once/week and we didn't ask any questions of Jesse or need additional help - such as when the pool was murky mid-cleanings, that everything was great. My husband called Jesse several times over the period that we used his service to either ask a question or try to get help resolving a problem. Jesse was defensive and rude. Jesse doesn't seem to understand that we are the customer, we are paying for his service and we deserve to be treated with respect. When we ask a question or need help, we are not being disrespectful. We are are not unreasonable or abusive people and tried to be very respectful of Jesse. If I could give Nu Waves pool service more than 5 stars, I would. Jesse and Santiago took over my pool service after my last company couldn't keep the pool from turning green, no matter how much chlorine they put in it. Their years of pool knowledge lead them to checking the phosphates, which were 1000x what they should be. After correcting the phosphates and chemical levels, my pool was sparkling clean and I save money on all of the extra chlorine I was wasting! I have had motors stop working for various reasons and Jesse was out that day or within 24 hours to save my pool. They don't just fix problems, they correct issues before they become an problem. I would highly recommend them for their outstanding customer service, ease of payment and value! read more

Jessie is the best. Our pool person was lazy and let our pool turn green. They never came back! We never had a green pool in the 16 years of its life. I read good reviews here. So, I called him (after we talked with someone else who told me to bring a pool same in for analysis cause they couldn't come for awhile.) I called Jessie and he came within 15 minutes. He analyzed the water and told me exactly what was going on. He then quoted me $200, and not the $300 he told me on the phone to fix it since he said it wasn't all that bad. He then came back three times in the week to make sure it was gone gone gone. He is friendly, efficient and on top of his game. I highly recommend him! read more

Jesse does a good job with pool maintenance, but he is quite difficult to work with from a personality standpoint. He gets very offended when asked simple questions because he takes it as mistrust when it is only information gathering. Pools are supposed to be recreational and enjoyable, you shouldn't need to worry about asking polite simple questions for a service for which you are paying. Jesse is always very concerned about people trusting him. When people are confident in their work, they don't mind being asked reasonable questions. My experiences with Jesse were terrible, he was downright mean and rude to me, even though I went out of my way to be kind. I really liked my former pool person because he was very easy going, the problem was his workers weren't very good. read more

Of all the pool service providers we had, he struck me as the most competent, courteous and responsive. I feel quite confident that I know the real identity of the reviewer who posted the lone negative review under the pseudonym "Jerica," and I can attest to the fact that Jesse has never been anything but courteous and respectful to the members of our HOA who interacted with him, because I was part of those conversations and interactions. I am under the impression the negative review may be more reflective of personal issues involved than of the business relationship our HOA has had with Jesse. I can attest to the fact that he did everything humanly possible to keep our HOA happy, and I was very upset that we lost him as our pool service provider. My pool was having a problem on a Friday . I reached out to other companies I has used in the past. No return call (s). Started looking for someone new. Contacted Nu Wave Pool Service in the morning, got a return call within 40 minutes . Jesse, owner showed up within two hours to diagnose to problem. Valve needed to be replaced. Nu Wave used to operate under the name "Cool Dudes" but the company has grown and split into two divisions. Since the split they have maintained their consistently excellent and reliable pool service and even forgiven me when I forgot to pay them on time after they stopped using a third-party auto-pay. They suggest repairs when necessary but allow us to shop around for quotes (even though they are almost always the cheapest for repairs and parts anyway). They are a great, reliable, local business and I intend to keep them around for a while! read more
