While visiting the area recently for the holidays I made sure to dip in and grab a few dogs. Let's face it, Nu-Way is a local Middle Georgia staple and has been so for over 100 years so I had to swing by and get my fix. This location isn't quite as old as others and doesn't have as much character in terms of the environment. But the food is still spot on and delicious. All went well during my visit and I left very satisfied. Of note though, as of this writing you can't leave a tip on a credit card. So, you might want to bring cash with you. I came a long way for a Nu-Way and it was worth it!

I have been a long been a fan of Nu-Way, I have been coming here for at least fifteen years. Of course, that is just a blip on the over hundred year history that Nu-Way has been on business, but for me, it has been an enjoyable long standing culinary relationship, one that I hope will continue for decades to come. Nu-Way is a great go to for the simple, unpretentious gastronomic wonder of hot dogs, burgers, and fries. Again, nothing fancy, but a feast as viable in terms of favorite foods as any high end dining experience. In fact, a hot dog or a burger has a stronger connection to my growing up in Jersey than any fine dining establishment. I remember my father taking me for hot dogs as a child, stopping for a late night meal with friends as a young adult after a night out, stuff like that. The food here is great, a must try if you are in the area. The hot dogs are the stand out, but all the menu is great.

The bright red weiners and the unique chili are the star of the show here.

You can travel all around the world and a hamburger is pretty much a hamburger. The same can not be said for hot dogs. They are regional and often have surprising toppings or methods of preparation. There aren't really any surprising toppings offered at Nuway. Chili, cheese, onions, ketchup, mustard, slaw are pretty standard. What makes these so special is the quality of the individual ingredients. Those blazing red weiners. That dark, oily chili. The fine dice of the onion. It all comes together (in whatever combination you prefer) to become something very special and unique to Middle-Georgia.

Best hot dogs ever. I go here every time I'm in town visiting. Love the "All the Way" (chili, cheese, mustard, & onion) dogs and one with their coleslaw on them as well. The fries were fresh and hot and delicious too. I always love their flaky ice which you can't seem to find anywhere but here. I've been eating these since I was a child and I've never found a better hot dog. I was sorry to hear the original in Macon burned down as we always made a special trip there to enjoy both a great hotdog and some nostalgia. Hopefully they can rebuild it and try to get close to the original. Keep on making them the same way and happy 100th anniversary!

3 for 2 Day at Nu Way! Slaw dog and Chili dogs with fries!

Nu Way Weiners are considered the best in these parts and for good reason! Slaw Dogs and Chili Dogs are the way to go but don't miss out on the MegaBurger too! This location is the only one I know of with table service. Both the food and the service is great.

Nu-Way has the best hotdogs in town.

My husband and I were looking for a place that was dog-friendly and had good drinks and food. Well well well, winner winner chicken dinner! When walking in, you're greeted by a friendly host or hostess. They saw our pup and showed us to the patio. It was a nice day so the temperature was wonderful and they even had dog bowls of water sitting out. The patio had TVs but we're not into football and just found something to watch on our phone. The waiter was phenomenal and very attentive but not overbearing. He made suggestions about the drink menu and was considerate to the fact that I drink virgin drinks only. The patio was relatively enclosed with screens to keep flies away. Regarding the food, it's an easy menu with not too many options. This keeps ticket times down and food comes out quick and hot. I had a quesadilla and my husband had the blackberry burger. It was absolutely delicious! The waiter even brought out a piece of bacon for our dog on a little platter. It really is the little things. We will definitely be back!

Well... the burgers look better than they taste. The patty does not have enough beef (or maybe not good quality beef?), which was dry for some reason and somewhat crumbly. Also, I'm meh with most beer, which I feel is the main pro of this place. There are TVs around for those who want to watch the games and drink beer, so I can say I'm most likely not the crowd this place is trying to draw. There are other places to chill with friends that have better food imo. Oh, and the ranch is watery. The chipotle ranch too. Choose a different dipping sauce unless they've changed it since I've last been. I know it's my bad for choosing boneless wings, but if Korean fried chicken places can keep them juicy, so can every other establishment. The ones here are dry. Notably, they do all day happy hour on Sundays. That's fun.

Remember, I'm at the bar where all the servers are at. And they were not that busy. It was Mother's Day. I was traveling and by myself on a hard day as my Mom passed away 2 years ago, and my mom always enjoyed local mom and pop restaurants so I had never been to this place. And when she did she said she was training a new person, ok???? How about trying to train her to take care of customers!! I ordered. And 27 minutes later, NOTHING! For just eggs and biscuits and gravy! She never even came back to me for water. Rude rude!! I finally just walked out. Unbelievable! I spend a lot of time there at the fairgrounds and will make sure I tell all to stay away. I was very disappointed!

Disappointing, but I understand and quickly assessed my lunch options. We decided to order an appetizer and then split a lunch plate. For the appetizer we got the loaded fries, since they were hand cut as we were sitting there. Overall the loaded fries were okay. I think they went too heavy on the cheese and the other noticeable thing was that the cinnamon in the chili was a little stronger than I would have liked. For lunch it was a Big Sexy Burger which had a double burger, pimento cheese, bacon jam and maybe some other stuff. But those items mentioned sold me on trying it. My only criticism about the burger would be the pimento cheese, it seemed to be heavy on the mayo and not as much cheese, but overall a decent burger. I think the real star of the meal was the onion rings, I would definitely recommend these. Now that we tried their lunch, I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu.

It was very easy to locate in the Kroger shopping center, so parking was very easy. It was lunch time when I walked in...there were a few people seated by not many. The menu was large and easy to ready. The interior was clean but the floor was very sticky. Since it looked so clean, I imagine it was the soap they were using but it was the only thing that I didn't LOVE about this place. I could have called ahead for a large order of chicken livers but it really didn't take that long. (And it was only $7 for a huge portion.) This was one of the few places that didn't make me buy a meal just for chicken livers. The gentleman that took my order was very nice. We had a sort of blind taste test when I got home (I knew where they all came from but the rest of my family did not.) Mrs. Betty's was unanimously voted as the BEST chicken livers!!! The chicken -- I got dark meat, natch -- was incredibly juicy and the seasoning was done with a light enough touch that you could taste both the seasoning and the meat. My sides were collards and fries, and both were very well-seasoned. The fries were nice and just crispy enough on the outside, and the collards came in a wonderful pot liquor. Service was wonderful, with polite, helpful staff. My only issue was that the cornbread was a bit dry. But they hit it out of the park with the other three, so it's a minor quibble. The whole meal with a drink came out to around fourteen dollars, which was itself a pretty good deal. All told, it was a good meal and I'll definitely be back here in the future.
