I am really happy that Nubi is far away from my house because I would be there at least once a day if it was closer. I went based on Angelique Q.'s review and I was not disappointed. The raspberry pomegranate tart flavor was out of this world. I tried a little bit of everything...O.K. alot of everything. The fruit was very fresh and the store was very clean and well taken care of. You know how sometimes the "self-serve" places get trashed pretty quickly? Most impressive! As far as flavors, quality, and variety, it would be hard to find better. As far as logistical set up - not so much. I drove out to Redlands to help a buddy put up a redwood fence on his property. HOT day and I spied this Nubi place. I went in expecting the whole pinkberry setup, but this was serve yourself. As this was my first do it yourself froyo bar I went a bit overboard. My cup looked like confetti when I was through. There are about 7 concave areas lined up along a serpentine tiled wall. Inside each little enclave is a machine that dispenses two flavors. The solid flavors are on the left, ie coffee, chocolate, vanilla, then move towards specialty in the middle, ie cheesecake, peanut butter supreme, and then to tropical, banana, pomegranate, pineapple, etc. if you know the lay out it's good but there is no large signage, so most people end up wandering around, ie me, checking out each stall to see what it has to offer. Finally I just decided to get a little squirt of each flavor. At the end of the line are about 30 toppings, from candy, to fruit, to mochi, and exotic fruit such as lychee, as well as some clear quavery stuff that looked delish. A chocked full medium ran $7. My favorites were the plain flavor which I found tart and a little icy. The Peanut butter supreme, strongly flavored and rich, and the chocolate which I think was actually sugar free. The banana was lovely as well as the pomegranate. The cheesecake was too rich. The consistencies vary quite a bit between flavors which seems odd. So, anyway, getting your yogurt is a bit humiliating because the sheep dance at the yogurt wailing wall brings out people's lowest common denominator of behavior, ie, greed and pushiness, but it's well worth it at the end when you break from the herd holding aloft your own creation celebrating your own individuality, ie, smooth, sweet, tasty, and full of variety. read more

I'm not personally into the tart pinkberry-esque flavor so my picks are the green apple and dole soft serve (like the plantation in hawaii!!!!!!) Wait a minute--they have that at disneyland? shit, i didnt know. I thought ohana was good--let me tell you--the fresh fruit makes the difference---kiwis, huuge size of your head raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and lots more. but thats all i remember cause thats all i get. Nubi Yogurt. A interesting name, isn't it? The interior is modern, with many bold colors throughout the store. Like their logo, there is lots of blues and oranges in the interior, as well as a splash of grey and green. The toppings area is different from your usual toppings bar- as for the dry items, they put them separately from the fruit in containers that are closed until you open it. There is also a seating area which has plenty of seating, as well as a cute kids table. Also, there is wifi, which isn't that common in all yogurt places. What's great about this place is that everything is already placed right in front of you. For example, sample cups are nearby the counter, but the server doesn't need to give it to you, as it is already in your arm's reach. Same thing for the spoons. Also, there are waffle cups, which are also at hand's reach and are 89 cents. Definitely, being somewhere we haven't tried before, we used the sample cup to try some different flavors. The flavor I didn't really like was the taro tart, which well, was a mix of tart yogurt and taro. In this case, the tart overpowered the taro, and it was a pretty bad combo in the first place. Obviously though, there were some really good flavors at Nubi. Two of which ended up in our final cup, which was 6.4 ounces according to the scale and cost 2.28 USD. At 38 cents per ounce, it wasn't that cheap. What was in the cup? (Yes, I did try to swirl it, but no, I wasn't too successful as for one part, it pumped ultra slow, and then I stopped pumping and pumped again (dole pineapple) while the other machine (original tart) pumped so fast I couldn't control it!) Well, there was original tart yogurt, Dole Pineapple, and mochi. I didn't pump too much as my cravings were not as high. Hence less yogurt. I think next time I should just make a big swirl, but I always forget to do so! Anyway, everything was well, great! The original yogurt was excellent. It was creamy, but not awfully creamy, and slightly tarter than Pinkberry. The first thought I had was that this was so similar to Pinkberry! No other yogurt place has got such great flavor to the yogurt. Dole Pineapple Sorbet, the other flavor we got, was basically the most popular flavor of the all the flavors. Mochi, which was the topping for this yogurt, did not have a lot of powder on it, and it chewy and smooth, and not grainy or dry. Good work! The other toppings were pretty fresh too. During the sample round, we liked the Dole Pineapple over the original, but as we finished half of the cup, we seemed to like the original better. Probably because the original was less icy. At the end, I still wanted more, but a bit was enough! Portion control it is. Good experience here. I wish other yogurt places could make their yogurt (of those same flavors we had at Nubi) as good as this! read more

Don't get me wrong.. this place is nice. Their strawberry shortcake yogurt is TO DIE FOR. The vanilla yogurt tastes good too. But I just have to take 2 stars off for their toppings. There's not enough fresh fruits. There are about probably 8-10 different fruit selections but only 2 of em are fresh, which are strawberries and bananas. The rest of them are canned fruits drowned in syrups, which is high in sugars. I never think of froyo as healthy dessert, but if you strive to make it healthier, maybe you should offer more variety of fresh fruits? Lol read more

I like the concept of "yogurt by the ounce" more than pinkberry. Sometimes you just don't want a massive portion, sometimes you want a higher or lower topping to yogurt ratio. Another way to customize for our very picky generation. The variety of yogurt is more than sufficient - there's the trendy "tart" yogurts, and the more traditional "tastes like ice cream" yogurts. Of the tart, I've seen the plain, green tea and raspberry pomegranate every time I've come. Then there's the good ol' vanilla, chocolate, and some more interesting ones like cake batter. The topping bar is fabulous. The fruit always looks and tastes fresh, there's plenty of candy and cereal toppings, and some more adventurous ones like cheesecake, brownies, those gummy gels (like the ones that grace slushes from bubble tea joints), and sometimes cookie dough. The place itself is trendy... like pinkberry and all those other places. Very white and glossy inside, with hints of blue and orange. There's some funky little round chairs outside as well, but I haven't sat there because they look uncomfortable. The only little gripe is that when I go it seems overtaken by the high school bunch. NUBI is so delicious. I'm addicted to FRO-YO. They have a good variety of Yogurt Choices anything from rich sugary stuff, low-fat, fat free, and my favorite sorbet. They always have the staples like vanilla and chocolate but change the others seasonally and some are on rotation. The tables and counters are always clean. I really wish there was more fresh fruit on a regular basis I know there are seasons for everything but more fresh fruit can't hurt anyone. I'm not big on the fudge, caramel, brownie stuff but I do love the cheesecake bits to pieces, only when I want to indulge. They also have cool toppings like mochi and boba. The hours are great and the prices are too I've never left feeling jipped. The employees are pretty cool and there is a good relaxed vibe inside. I prefer to sit outside in the shared courtyard there are great water features and plenty of seating. TIP: If you eat at ONO Hawaiian across the street on Lugonia your receipt will have a discount for the same day at Nubi. read more

The day I went, the yogurt was runny and not very frozen, it was a sad yogurt experience for me. I had the blueberry tart and the vanilla tart. It was around 6ish pm so there was no excuse that the yogurt machines had not been turned on. There's not many froyo places in SB, so I'm giving an extra half star just for the location. The flavors are good and the mix-ins are plentiful! The only complaint I have is some of the yogurt isn't really frozen. Some flavors are more frozen than others. I'd recommend the owners keep their yogurt at a consistent lower temperature to make sure the yogurt is actually frozen and not super runny. Other than that, great option! read more

So, up until last week I had been a fan of Nubi's. I liked their selections of yogurt and the variety of fresh fruit. I like the self-serve aspect. You can feel virtuous, or go whole hog... It was the service that was their undoing. The employee refused to accept an "old" $20! She made a big deal of rummaging in the drawer for that counterfeit bill marker and then after marking the bill declared that the $20 was unacceptable. I told her I had just gotten it out of the bank's ATM and asked her incredulously if she thought the bill was fake. She said, "No", but stated that the management had an "old bill" policy. I'm not much of a frozen yogurt connoisseur, but I think this place is pretty good. They have a nice selection of fruit (lychee, mango, raspberry, etc). I have never come across under-ripe or soggy fruit which is good coz that's really all I put on my yogurt. I usually drop by in the evening and it's almost never crowded and even though they're moments from closing no one's grumpy that you came in. If you're a first-timer here, I'm pretty sure you'll love being a n00bi. :) Compared to many other places, it's somewhat cheaper and it's got more yogurt flavors, topping selections (healthy ones to boot!), and I love the buffet/self-serve style. During my visit last week, I've found out that it's charging EXTRA for indoor seating. (Normally it didn't.) SMH! EPIC FAIL! Well, somewhat of a fail. So I had no choice but to enjoy my stuff outside (while it was close to 90 degrees outside). I've been meaning to give Nubi 5 solid stars, but after finding out the extra charge, sadly, I'm downgrading it to just 4 stars. Some comfortable seating inside the business as well minimal outside seating... It's not as pricey as people think, but the more you get the more you are going to pay, that's for sure! I will say they are clean and the staff is nice. They did not have a large selection of toppings and both my sister and I came home feeling sick and end up with stomach cramps all night. This tells me they do not clean the yogurt machines as often as they should and they don't rotate the flavors out enough. Rather go to Major Brain Freeze. read more

I would give them two stars for the fact that they had about only 2 flavors of yogurt and almost no topping. The employee there however, was kind enough to apologize profusely for the lack of flavors and explained to us the reason why. If any of you have read my reviews, you'd quickly find out how big I am on customer service. As a former employee in fine dining restaurants, I believe good customer service goes a long way. A good employee can make up for the fact that a place doesn't have any flavors, and give the customer a memorable experience and ensure their return. Today I had really great sushi and my friend and I were craving some Fro-Yo , so she tells me there's one across from the restaurant we're at so we walk to it....and to my surprise it's Nubi! The Fro-yo place EVERYONE I knew was talking about, I had a spoon steal from my friend awhile ago and he had pistachio and some topping I couldn't remember and it was pretty good. So being the nerd I am, I jumped for joy because I've always wanted to try Nubi! We got there and the place is pretty small, and you can't really blame them because, hey it is a frozen yogurt stop and go kind of place anyways, so right when you walk in there's empty stacks of cups and the beginning of your yogurt extraveganza onto your left and onto your right there's a bar tall table with bar stools and 4 tables. My friend and I tried almost any Fro-yo that sound delish...and I ate coffee flavor last time at Ohana's Fro-yo months ago, so I tried something different. I ended up tasting Peach Tart (which is better than regular tart it's more fruity..well of course haha), French Vanilla, Coffee, and Strawberry Pomegranate (I don't remember if It was strawberry or blackberry pomegranate but for sure it had pomegranate in it and just had to have it!). Where was I going with this....oh yeah, in other fro-yo places I heard that you can't have unlimited samples anymore so yeah that was cool of Nubi! I divided my cup in a half: The first half I called it "Unhealthy side" because it was the French Vanilla one with Cookie dough, Cheesecake, and something with chocolate chips my friend and I both though were cookie dough at first....It was so delish that I wanted to steal more cheesecake bits while the counter lady wasn't looking! I didn't because I'm nice like that..... Second Half I called it my "HEALTHY Side" I contained that Strawberry(?) Pomegranate Fro-yo w/ rasberries, blackberries, kiwis, and strawberries! I regret not putting a dump load of toppings + fro-yo on my order because it was so good and my cup came out to $4.20 and I got half way with the fro-yo but my fruit was massive ! In all, great food, and the pricing is in reasonable to me, only because you get to pile on so many toppings that sky is the limit! It's fair because it gets scaled. The only thing I didn't like was that there were a couple of people in there at a time and I kept bumping into someone or the table or was in someone's way. I believe it could be a little more spacious. DEFIANTLY my reccomendations for fro-yo in Redlands Ohana's and Nubi! I had such a great Fro-yo desert that I took a bunch full of stickers from the little cup so I could post it everywhere (in my folder...books...etc.) but sadly it didn't fit my phone I'll try to though! read more

1 star is not for the yogurt. It's for closing the store before 10pm (it's advertised closing time). I rushed over, thinking I was ok because it was 9:52pm. However, one of the employees was just walking away from the locked door and "closed" sign she had just flipped. The best part of this yogurt shoppe is that you control the amount. I am a huge fan of yogurt and fruit and they have many toppings available. They also have many different yogurt flavors to choose from and it seemed pretty cheap. I would say I like this place even better than the famous Pink Berry and you dont have to wait in line for 20 minutes. The only downside to this place is the size. There happen to be about 10 girls sitting next to us and apparently they were pretty pumped up because they were sooo loud. Because of the size of the place, there was no escape. It was way too cold outside so it forced me to hurry and slam down my yogurt thus resulting in a horrible brain freeze. Moral of the story if you walk in and see a big group of people (especially if they are all women and yes Im a women, I can say that), grab how ever much yogurt you want with whatever toppings your little heart desires and go...or bring ear plugs! read more
