I loved my first experience. It lived up to the reviews on Yelp. And, while I might feel uncomfortable walking in alone, I can see myself hanging out here with a laptop and a milk tea for hours. I wouldn't even have to order my own hookah because enough people around have them, and that makes the air super aromatic. Your nose is treated to wafting smoke of peach, melon, grape, and apple tobacco. I've tried the following: Peach/Melon Hookah (nice, smooth) Mint Tea (Meh. Just tea with mint leaves. I was expecting a special blend) Milk Tea (More to my liking. Super sweet and smooth) Chicken Cave (The chicken was a little dry, but the salad, humus, and rice were pretty good) All around generous portions. Servers are continually circulating to add more coals to your hookah. On a chilly night, this adds a certain warmth to the place, both figuratively and literally. I really loved watching the guys come around with a metal-mesh basket full of glowing embers. Also, there's a barrel of burning coals just off the bathroom. So, navigating that door can be tricky! My one complaint would be the lighting and the TVs. I wish it were a bit more atmospheric inside. But then, maybe I'm wanting it to be gussied up too much. Manager tried to upcharge me by making up some random rule that was never mentioned when we arrived, clearly because we were not locals and was trying to get an extra buck out of us. I straight up told him no and he said "we will let it slide this time." This time? A random $15 minimum per guest regardless of what we ordered? How about we pay for what we order like a regular business? Ignorant and stingy worker. Walked in on a Friday night to see the "outside" space which is actually a covered tent so it's not really outdoor packed with people, didn't see one mask in sight, there was absolutely no social distancing or any covid safety measure taken. Three of us were offered a tiny table crammed between two other tables that were already full. We felt super unsafe and decided to leave the establishment immediately. Probably the most decent hookah lounge in the Anaheim/Garden Grove area. Upon first entering, the place doesn't look that special but the outside enclosed area is actually really nice with table and booth/couch seating. I thought the pop art (Fairouz and Oum Kalthoum) on the walls was super cool too!! They also have free wifi if you want bring your laptop. As far as food, the menu had plenty of options but we decided to stick to something simple and get the 'pizza' with cheese and zaatar which was pretty good. The peach mint hookah is SO good!! Flavor didn't taste super artificial and overbearing. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because the service was not the greatest...I literally had to stare down a waiter for a good 5 minutes before we made eye contact and he came over to help us. We were also overcharged when we got the check because of some pricing change on the menu that nobody told us about. After some arguing and calculating we resolved the problem. Best Hooka Lounge in Anaheim, friendly Service . Easy to talk to any of the staff. I enjoy coming here for Hooka and Tea. Love their hot drinks menu . The owner and Manager Alaa are always checking on our table . They serve Most Hooka flavors. This is my 100 times here, always crowded, what does that mean?? I have been here before and it is a very crowded place specially on the weekends. I went few days ago to Nubia, they definitely have improved... Their hookah is great!! I tried their Kushari tea and it was way to sweat.. Their knafeh was not good either. both of these items were recommended but I definitely expected better. read more

I have been to this place before and I had a great meal here. The hookah is not good though I went there on Christmas eve and man that was an episode! The service was just terrible. We needed a table away from the cold entrance and moved tables without a single server coming to check on us or offer to help with the move with our drinks & hookahs. When hookahs and drinks came, not a single time we got charcoal or asked if we needed anything else - I really was hungry and wanted to order but no server in sight. We had to move tables again because we had a bigger party coming up and again the servers totally ignored whats going on and we had to setup ourselves a bigger table and move chairs around. Edit: they've since improved in a lot of these areas! Updated from 1 to 4 stars I'm going to outline some mistakes that were made by the staff. In my industry, details MATTER because it's about how you reflect on the customer. If the customer feels welcomed, they return. My sense is that at Nubia they don't really care. They have enough men coming in to play cards and enough crowds on weekends that they don't really have to give a shit about a dude coming here for a date. 1. Had to constantly try to wave down servers, who seemed annoyed when they came over to take my order. 2. Ordered a coke and water, received a sprite. When I pointed out that I wanted a coke, the server sullenly waddled his ass back to the kitchen and brought me back a coke with an attitude like he was doing me a favor. I had to yell across the restaurant to the server behind the register for water. He didn't notice me waving because he was busy diddling on his cell phone. I walked all the way over to the register TWICE. I'm not a really picky or uptight dude, I said thanks and didn't make a big deal of it. I know being a server can be tiring, but that's no excuse for lousy service. 3. My table was missing napkins. No napkins were brought with my kabob and fries. Fries were mediocre..the kind of fries you would eat at a school cafeteria in grade school. The kabob was fine, nothing special frankly...and I know kabob..I am middle eastern and we eat lots of it. 4. When my date arrived and we ordered a hookah, nobody came over to replace our coals. Not ONCE. It hit very harsh and i had to repeatedly change the coals over myself. Again, embarrassingly I had to wave both my arms in the air and even then the shit head server sarcastically waved to us then finally came over only to delegate to another service. What the fuck Nubia have you lost all fucks? Do you not care about your job at all? Why don't you apply for a job somewhere else if you care so little? Do you hate me? Is there something I did wrong? This is how I felt here. 5. Our table was fine, furniture is nice and comfortable enough, although other hookah places have nice comfy couches you can sink into. Not so at Nubia. Not great for a date in my opinion, it was difficult to get cozy. However the tables are very close to a dumpster and the wind brought the smell to the side of the restaurant we were on. I kid you not I thought my date kept farting until I realized it was the disgusting whiff of garbage. Nice job Nubia, you can't get that dumpster moved a bit? 6. No heaters. The heaters were unavailable. Its mid December. Granted we live in so cal but it's still chilly. My date was cold - so cold that we had to leave early. No thank you for coming in, no how was everything, nothing. Just a bunch of sullen shit heads with attitude problems. I work in catering. I just my fucking ass for the customers...I know what good service and I know how it reflects on customers and how it can attest repeat business. I will not be coming back. I don't normally give one stars but I feel this level of service is unacceptable.
