Definitely one of my favorite Korean bbq experiences. Nubiani features a high end experience where the servers will cook your meats and the bonchon that the meats come with are all so flavorful. I loved the marinated short ribs. The green onion salad was my favorite side. It even comes with egg soufflé and kimchi soup not pictured. My only feedback is that I wish there were more sauces or that the other meats had a bit more flavor. It's a very lively atmosphere but once you are seated, it feels more of a private experience. Random but the restrooms have individual mouthwashes and lotion which is a nice touch. I'd recommend this restaurant for anybody looking for a high end kbbq experience! read more

Definitely had a flashback moment. Nubiani is spacious. The tables are properly spaced apart so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of each other. There's also two grill counters/bar which is where they seat you if you're a two top. Just like their sister location, the service is prompt and the food is delicious. We went with the pork set and could barely finish. And of course, you get a delicious ice cream soft serve after. They will always give you two checks at the end, one cash with 10% discount or one at full price if you pay with credit. So bring cash if you want to get a discount. read more

Ah... one of the high end Korean BBQ spots pinned on my Google Maps. We celebrated my son's 21st birthday here and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was nice and fit for his celebration. The banchans were amazing and my son's favorite, the egg soufflé, didn't disappoint. There were loads of meat coming and they were deliciously seasoned. I must day service is top notch! Been a fan of Nubiani since they opened and have probably eaten there more than 6-7 times now. Food is consistent and meat quality is good. I went to Nubiani for a celebratory dinner, and it was such a good meal. The restaurant is located in Ktown and you take an elevator up. It was a little tricky to find at first since the signage is not the most visible. We arrived a bit early for our reservation but got seated right away. The restaurant has a lot of seating, with tables for large groups as well as bar style seating. We were at the bar-type seating and there was a burner for every 2 seats. We got the small beef package, which feeds 2 people (could have fed 3). The package comes with skirt steak, rib finger, seasoned short ribs, and your choice of either boneless short ribs or ribeye and your choice of soup. We opted for ribeye and kimchi stew. The package also comes with lots of banchan side dishes, including their fluffy egg soufflé. They cook the meat for you, and gave recommendations of pairings. Everything was incredible. The kimchi stew was one of my favorites, it was done so well. They ended the meal with a complementary soft serve. Overall, it was an amazing meal. Holy! This was the best KBBQ I've ever had. The price is well worth the meat and service you get. Highly recommend reservations for 5 or more people and for dinner time at 5 PM or later. I made a reservation a month in advance for 4 people for a Sunday at 4 PM. The place is kind of hard to find as it's on the 3rd floor of a building. When we got in, there were only three other parties there. When we left, it was a different story! My friends and I shared the Nubiani package, a japchae, and a beef tartare. Once we placed the order, the bonchan's or small cold dishes that are complimentary came floating out throughout the table. The bonchan's here are on another level - some standard ones (like kimchi and broccoli with soybean and pickled onions) and some I've never seen before at other Korean restaurants like sweet potato with wine and a veggie with lime juice (I believe). The rice and perfectly sized lettuce wraps were free of charge too! The servers cooked the meats one at a time which gives us time to eat it fresh! The Nubiani package comes with beef rib eye, beef rib finger, beef boneless short ribs, pork belly, and pork seasoned shoulder butt. This was more than enough food for 4 people (if you're all not a big eater) along with two additional apps. Everyone's least favorite was the pork belly and everyone's favorite was one of the beef. I thought the pork seasoned shoulder was very flavorful and delicious too! Our package also comes with a soup and you have a choice of kimchi or soybean soup. We got the kimchi soup and it was good! The steamed egg was very good too but a bit saltier than I expected. The beef tartare comes in a nice bowl with a raw egg on the top as well as sliced pears. It was pretty good but I would probably not order it again since it wasn't anything special for me. The japchae was standard if not better. It was flavorful without being overly salty and came with a bunch of mixed veggies with my favorite being the thin sliced mushrooms. In the end, they even give complimentary icecream with Yuzu syrup on top. It was so good! Additionally, since we were celebrating my friend's birthday - hers had additional rainbow sprinkles and a candle! There are three restrooms in the back - a female, a male, and a unisex one. There was individually packaged mouthwash in the restroom as well as hand soap which was really nice after eating a big meal! Nubiani is definitely one of the better Korean BBQ spots in NYC. The meat quality is excellent -- we went with the Nubiani package for a group of four and every single cut was so good. You can really taste the quality. The portions were generous too -- honestly way too much food for four people. I wouldn't recommend ordering add-ons if you're doing one of their set packages. The server cooks everything for you, which makes the experience feel seamless and elevated. Our server was really nice and attentive overall. The only hiccup was that it took over 20 minutes to get our sparkling water, even though still water was already on the table. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. Some standouts for me were the mushroom kettle hotpot rice -- so flavorful and comforting -- and the steamed egg, which was fluffy and perfectly done. This is such a long overdue review for Nubiani. I feel like so many Korean bbq spots in ktown that are so similar. However, Nubiani surpasses my expectations every time I come. To start with the service, it's always been consistent, whether it's been a large party or small, service is on point. From explaining the menu to answering my questions, to knowing exactly when I need my bon chon refilled, they know exactly what to do. Now onto the food. The bon chon provided sometimes change, but everytime they've been a hit. They provide SO MANY kinds of bonchon, so I've never felt like I never had too little food. The quality of the meats are wonderful and cooked very well. I got to experience the grilled cod my last time here, and it was delicious. The cod along with the normal beef package was just enough for me and my boyfriend. While it's a bit pricier than the kbbq spots in the area, the quality of the food you get along with the service and the ice cream you get at the end makes you feel like it's worth it. I came here for their lunch special menu (12pm-3pm). I got the pork ribs set which came with banchan, egg souffle, lettuce & gang dwenjang, a choice of soybean paste or kimchee stew, and ice cream. I also ordered the mushroom kettle hot pot rice. The set alone was enough; however, I really wanted to try their hot pot rice. The pork ribs, recommended by our waiter, were a good mix of sweet and savory. The meat quality was great! The best part of the service is they cook the meat for you so you can relax and enjoy the meal. The mushroom hot pot rice was one of the best I've ever had. The bottom of the rice was so crispy and our waiter seasoned the rice enough so that it was perfectly umami. It had a very generous portion of mushrooms. The restaurant itself has a nice aesthetic. The only con was that it was hard to have a conversation because it echoes a lot so my friend and I felt that it was difficult to hear each other over the other people conversing around us. I can see why folks like Nubiani but it overall just wasn't a good fit with the types of meat and banchan I like, and ended up being too pricey for me to love it. For sure, the decor/ambiance and service were all lovely. My friend and I got the small beef combo with the kimchi stew as well as the spicy cold buckwheat noodles. The kimchi stew and cold buckwheat noodles were my favorite. Both were complex in flavor and super delicious. The meat itself was tasty, and maybe I am not a big non-marinated beef fan but if I have to dip the meat in sauces, is it really worth the price point? The marinated short rib was by far the best in flavor and fattiness. Next time, I would probably just order this x2. Most of the banchan were nice but not my particular favorite types of banchan so while they were tasty, I didn't love them and didn't finish any of them except for the steamed egg, which was by far the best and the tastiest banchan. read more

Located in Koreatown, this is the original location for Nubiani and you have to be sure to book a reservation ahead of time, or you might not get a seat. Service here was good but I do think that the service at their second location in Midtown is much better (that was my first time at Nubiani). The ambiance here is a lot livelier and casual, in comparison to that location. With four people, we decided to do their Nubiani package as well as order their beef tartare, squid and beef pancake, and naengmyeon. Everything was delicious. The side dishes were solid, their meat quality was amazing, and their appetizers were great. I loved the birthday soft serve that they gave to my friend at the end, and their classic orange soft serve was delicious. First thing to note when we first sat down was that we were required to either order the large combination meat platter or order at least 4 à la carte meat dishes (for 4-person party). This information was not explicitly said at the time when reservation was made so I felt like this was falsely advertised + bad business dealing. (We later did not hear the server share this expectation with the newly seated party next to us, which makes me wonder why it is told to some parties and not others). Service was extremely rushed and when I brought it up to our waitress to slow down, there was no apology and she gave me a passive aggressive smile every time she asked if we were ready for the next meat to be grilled. Being from LA, I've had my fair share of kbbq and this one was definitely catering to non-Asians. They try to sell an upscale and western version of kbbq but their meat selection + service missed the mark and left a sour taste in our mouths. They have a vast selection of banchan and they replenish it when you're running low but they also replenish when you've only eat half of the plate so it feels a little wasteful. One banchan that stood out was the mashed sweet potato with red wine syrup, they were very generous in making sure we had enough of that to eat. We ordered the beef large package and most of the meats were galbi. The one-week marinated galbi tasted best in this combo set. At the end of the meal, we were given a yuzu soft serve ice cream but the thing that really left such a sour taste in my mouth was when we were just starting to eat our ice cream, the manager came by to tell us that we needed to leave because they needed to get ready for the next party. If we didn't need to wait for the kimchi jigae to come out (they forgot about our soup), and if we didn't need to wait for the ice cream to come out (waited for about 5-10 minutes after we told them we were ready for dessert), we would've probably left already. Like I said, they missed the mark on service immensely. I'm surprised at how many people recommend this place because I came for an experience and instead left feeling super unappreciated by my patronage. read more

Absolutely mind blown about the place. The quality, food, service, and the best restaurant experience in NYC! The small beef package was more than enough for two people and left us very full. The small beef package includes 4 different types of meat (boneless short rib or rib eye, skirt steak, rib finger, and seasoned short ribs). It also comes with 반찬 (banchan), 계란찜 (Gyeran-jjim/ steam egg), and you can pick either the 김치 찌개 (kimchi jjigae) or 된장찌개 (doenjang jjigae). I wish the 된장찌개 had a little more broth but nonetheless it was delicious! A very nice touch was the yuzu ice cream at the end. Heads up - you can get 10% off if you pay on cash. Nubiani is my favorite kbbq place in all of NYC! I've basically been coming here once a year for the last 5 years or so and it's always been super consistent and never fails. First off, the service is absolutely top notch. This place will cook the meat perfectly for you so there's no need to stress about the timing or flipping. Not only that but they cut it up into perfect serving sizes and even "clean up" the meat, meaning they get all of the galbi off the bone for you but they also go so far as cutting off the little burnt edges. If that isn't next level service, then I don't know what is. The meat quality equals the service levels and the kitchen prepares the cuts and seasonings to enhance the flavor profiles to bring out the best. My favorite is always the gabli- I am happy to just do multiple orders of it paired with some steamed egg and the side dishes. Depending on the group size, we'll usually throw in some japchae and/or the seafood pancake. The place is spacious and great for groups. It's so welcoming once the elevator doors open and the hosts are quick to check in with you. This place is definitely a bit more upscale than most of the other options in ktown so also note that it's on the pricier side for a la carte. Lastly, you can grab your complimentary ice cream and I love that you don't come out totally stinking of bbq! We made reservations for 4 people a week before and came to the restaurant on time. Unfortunately the seating was very uncomfortable and the manager of the restaurant refused to switch the bench for 2 chairs to accommodate my disability because "it didn't fit their decor perfectly." We were deeply offended and left the restaurant to eat at the nearby restaurant. We would never return. This place should be shut down because they discriminate against the disabled and refused to switch 1 chair to accommodate my back injury. How upsetting is that? Service is horrible. Do yourself a favor, don't bother to come there! Oh and also they tell you that you can only spend 1.5 there, a limit on your stay. You get the picture. Overall I think this place is worth checking out: way better than AYCE and food-wise on par with Cote (just the experience is slightly less elevated & trendy). My direct comparison is Cote and this place feels a bit less elevated. If I was taking someone out for a nice dinner, I'd opt for Cote (though Nubiani is still nice). -They really do hold you to the table times (2 people = 90 minutes). So make sure you arrive on time. It almost felt a little rushed. -If you pay with cash, 10% off the bill. There's an atm inside the restaurant. Food: recommend ordering one of the packages. I ordered the Beef Small Package (with boneless short rib - wonderfully marbled & tender). Lots of good banchan and sides come with the meal (choice of stew & egg soufflé & ice cream for dessert).
