Food/drinks: seriously a hidden gem!! They have a frozen beer perfect for the summer weather & everything we got was super delicious and easy to share with a big group! Atmosphere: very dark inside and vibey, not too loud Service: very quick, order on iPad & great for big groups Price: hidden gem pricing!! Very affordable!

Came here with a group of friends. The staffs were friendly and helpful with the menu. The food was full of favors. The spicy crab noodle has a kick to it. We had 7 ppl and were sat in a booth. I felt it was a little bit tight.

Such a vibey place! They greet you at the table with some crackers, and you order everything on the tablet. Absolutely loved all the dishes and everything -- the beef sukiyaki was everything. It was my first time trying a sukiyaki, and was super flavorful. Be sure to get a side of white rice! Afterwards, we mixed the rice with the broth, and the raw egg, which was delish. We also got the yellowtail sashimi, and was honestly pretty good! I wish they gave more ginger and wasabi, but overall this was such a filling meal. Staff were super friendly and nice as well!

I've been here twice now, and it's a lot of fun. The staff is friendly and attentive, and if you come right when they open, it's much quieter. It does get pretty loud during peak dinner hours. You order everything on an iPad, which makes it easy to add more dishes as you go. We shared the beef sukiyaki, and it was the highlight of the meal. The broth was sweet and savory, and dipping the beef into the raw egg gave it a silky texture that made every bite even more satisfying. The whole experience brought me right back to Japan.

The theming of Izakaya Seasun was on point and it just felt so cozy. The spicy pork jowl cream was sooo good. It didn't taste like any pasta dish I've had before so I really liked it. The beef sukiyaki was also good, but it was definitely on the sweeter side.

Really cute izakaya with a pretty good variety of dishes! Some friends and I were looking to grab a quick bite, and we didn't have any problems making a reservation during dinner hour on a Wednesday. The sukiyaki broth was super clean (and I quite liked both the egg and sweet dipping sauce) - I think I would've liked more mushrooms and tofu, since the meat is piled on top of a pretty large bed of bean sprouts, but no complaints here. I really liked the pork jowl and beef tendon nabe; again, really clean flavors in a light broth, but the textures were super diverse (pork jowl was meaty and chewy; chives and cabbage gradually softened over time; and the beef tendon had a great bite). Favorite of the night was definitely the seafood jjampong; the broth was a lot creamier than most, but the texture was great and really coats all of the noodles. Would definitely reorder this.

Came here on a wednesday evening at 7 PM with a reservation for 2. It wasn't too busy and had a very classy interior. You order on a screen at each table, and they are very quick to bring out your food. We shared the beef sukiyaki and the spicy seafood jjamppong. I really enjoyed the flavors of the ingredients with the broth of the sukiyaki and the egg dipping sauce. It looks like it comes with a lot of meat, but be aware that it's only a layer of sliced beef on top of a bunch of bean sprouts. The spicy seafood jjamppong was spicier than we were expecting. I liked the bits of seafood that it came with, as well as the vegetables and roe. Both dishes had very large portion sizes and were great value. They also gave us some free pineapple with condensed milk for posting a photo of our food on an instagram story.

really nice ambiance and service, but food portion felt kinda small for 3 people and not a lot of meat options. beef sukiyaki was good but the rose udon was really spicy

We got the beef sukiyaki and the wagyu beef tartar/sashimi combo. For some reason they were sold out of the Wagyu beef tartar but it was available in combos. The sukiyaki was good with nice thinly sliced beef. We ended up ordering more beef slices too. I really liked the sweet sukiyaki broth and the raw egg and dipping sauce that came with it complimented it nicely. The Wagyu beef tartare was my favorite. It was seasoned really well and paired deliciously with the salad and ponzu sauce. The salmon sashimi was a little thin and nothing special. You can tell this place specializes more in beef! Food came quick. They have an electronic menu that you can order and call the server with which was nice. Place is dimly lit and intimate.

Izakaya Seasun is a cute & vibey izakaya. It gives great party vibes and the staff is super kind. Our party of 6 really enjoyed the food and the portion sizes were great! + Tendon + Pork Jowl Nabe [5/5]: Soooo delicious. I loved literally everything in this nabe. The pork jowl was okay-tender, and the tendon was out-of-this-world! I loved the chives down the middle. + Sukiyaki Nabe [4/5]: I personally didn't like this but all of the 5 other girls I ate with LOVEDD this. Great sukiyaki taste and comes with an abundant amount of soup and fillings. + Wagyu Tartare [4/5]: I usually don't like tartare but this was done really well. Not too gamey and the bites were the perfect size. We came on a Sunday night so the vibes were pretty quiet, but this looks like a great place to have some chill drinks and food with a large group of people. Would definitely recommend!

It was valentine's weekend and I had the impossible task of calling an audible around a spontaneous, last minute Saturday night reservation that wasn't a pre-fixe. Izakaya Seasun looked promising, and they are on Yelp Waitlist, meaning I could join a virtual queue to track my place in line. I'm forever wishing more restaurants would use this feature, and Seasun executed it flawlessly. I timed my arrival so I'd get there right as I hit the front of the line, and was seated immediately. The place had the energy of a late night eatery you'd stumble into at an Asian night market, serving boozey drinks and greasy food to accompany it. We kicked things off with a couple of frozen Kirins, which hit exactly right. You order via ipad at the table, and the food came out quickly. I went with the spicy pot chicken with rice noodles and the creamy crab pasta. Both were aggressively spicy, even for my standards, wherein the frozen Kirins became less of a choice and more like a lifeline. Our server came over to ask us to submit a song request, which they'd add to the restaurant's playlist "to recognize your love or whatever." I thought it was pretty gimmicky at first, but when my song ended up coming on, the haze of the spice combined with the cold burn of the kirin made me feel like I was in the closing scene of a romantic film, my date's eyes catching the light just a little more than usual.

An aroma drifted out into the street in soft white tendrils, a smoky hand beckoning me and assailing my nose with a smell I could not ignore. I was so happy that we stumbled onto this gem of a place. The Japanese inspired decorations with the massive retro speakers in the wall gave this place a cozy, vintage, jazz ambiance. I loved the eclectic wallpapers and the cat logo. The smell of meat permeated the air and we quickly ordered a plethora of food. We tore through the meat and tteokbokki and were fully satisfied. However, the matcha makgeolli tasted just like Melona ice cream and I'm itching to go back. Life revolves around simple joys and there's nothing that quite beats good company+food+alcohol. This place is very good and I highly recommend you drag your friends out for a Friday night vibe :)

Came on a Friday with a resy for 2 at 7:30pm and they were busy. We still had to wait an additional 20 minutes although they did give us the booth seating. We got: - Beef Sukiyaki: comforting, the soup base wasn't too sweet which some sukiyaki base can be - Beef Motsunabe: similar broth to the sukiyaki, it didn't feel heavy/fatty - Seafood Cheese Tteokbokki: Avoid. The pot looked hefty, but the not so fresh crabs took up most of the room. Maybe 6 pieces of tteok and the mussel meat were very small - Matcha Makgeolli: unique, you can taste the subtle matcha Service was attentive. Easy ordering from a tablet on the table. Kpop jams were playing all night, all around good vibes. Prices were fair too.

We started with the Mix Tartare, where the combination of tuna, salmon and yellowtail was fresh and flavorful, and the crispy wonton chips added the perfect crunch. The Truffle Kani Roll was a favorite -- creamy and flavorful with avocado, plenty of crab on top, and a subtle truffle flavor. It was a little different from the sushi rolls we usually order and definitely worth trying. We also had the shrimp katsu, which was perfectly crispy on the outside with big, juicy pieces of shrimp inside. The creamy dipping sauce paired really well with it. For ramen, we tried the Shoyu Ramen, which was warm and comforting with a flavorful broth, tender chashu, bamboo shoots, scallions and a soft-boiled egg. It was a nice addition to all the smaller dishes we shared. Overall, everything tasted fresh, was beautifully presented, and we really enjoyed being able to try a variety of dishes. As a fan of all fish roe and especially mentaiko, the cream and fish roe balance was well done. Loved the addition of shiso leaves to add a bit of herbaciousness to cut the richness of the cream. The udon was nicely cooked al dente and remained chewy throughout. Yakitori options range from chicken, beef, and veggie options. The chicken meatball was flavorful. Although I wish the chicken thigh and beef tongue were a little more tender, I did like their seasoning. The enoki pork wrap came with a soy/ginger sauce which served as a nice appetizer. Their smooth chawanmushi featured additional ikura and seaweed which amplified the umaminess; however because of the steam/heat, kinda overcooked the ikura a little bit, so be sure to eat it quick! The tartare combined a bunch of different fresh fish with some tamago and tossed in a light soy sauce. I liked how the wasabi wasn't too strong or overpowering but still present enough to preserve the freshness of the fish. The corn ribs were good but nothing crazy or different from other places. The space is cute and cozy with lots of natural lighting. They have two floors, an area with bar seating, and upstairs with more tables/nook area for more privacy. Staff were polite. Food came out quick on a weekend.

Half of their menu is vegan-friendly. Spoiler alert: they will open a permanent location in June/July! *Chicken Karaage*** This chicken karaage was TO DIE FOR -- the caramelized sugar lemon on the side took it to a whole new level. The boneless chicken was so tender and juicy with a thin deep-fried batter. The meat was extremely refreshing after squeezing the lemon and dipping in honey mustard sauce. * Handrolls - Salmon Yuzu, Tuna, Yellowtail** Y'all need to order their handrolls! The sashimi piece was thick and long enough to cover the vinegar rice. It would be a pain to pick which handroll I like more. They layered up the flavors of each piece with house sauces, shiso leaf, fried leek, avocado etc. Wish they would add a handroll set in the future. *Pork Cutlet Curry The curry was a blend of shredded meat, mashed potatoes, tomatoes and grapes (yes grapes!). The pork loin cutlets were crispy and not heavily breaded. The meat was a bit dry, yet it was cut in thin slices so it didn't bother me much. I found the multigrain rice even more enjoyable than white rice with its crunchiness. *Matcha Crème Brûlée** WE LOVED THIS. Matcha flavor is strong. The caramelized top and creamy matcha custard complemented really well. Trust me, their crème brûlée is the best dessert to finish off your meal. *Vegan Matcha Cheesecake This cheesecake was homey and light. Matcha flavor was tasteable but not very strong. The raspberry compote added a nice touch to it. I liked the crunchy biscuit layer on the bottom. *Yuzu White Peach Sparkling *Virgin Green Tea Mojito Their Japanese-inspired mocktails were great and not too sweet (very rare for mocktails). And I never understood this either. We ordered 3 omakases to share amongst 2 people, and then a ton of a la carte dishes to share. Which were such a beautiful compliment to our omakase dishes. We got the "O" which was a 9 course meal with some cooked and raw options. From the a la carte menu, we ordered the chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, hamachi kama, clay pot rice with salmon and roe, sukiyaki noodles, 2 different rolls (tuna and salmon) and of course the uni taster (which were 3 different kinds of sushi from California and 2 from Hokkaido). The agedashi tofu was the worst amongst our group for a weird texture, definitely did not feel like tofu. The best dishes were the uni taster, chicken karraage, and hamachi kama all from the a la carte menu. And from the omakase, definitely the sushi platter (which were 10 pieces of sushi) and the soba noodles were so amazing! The sushi rice here were so delicious! Apparently There's No Such Thing as Too Hot for Ramen!…read more I was working from my Midtown office, which is ALWAYS freezing , so despite it being a hot day in NYC, ramen sounded like the perfect lunch. Instead of taking the easy route and ordering delivery, I decided to walk over to Kushi Kushi Yaki to get some fresh air -- and, more importantly, escape the Arctic tundra that is my office. The restaurant is small but really nicely decorated and felt warm and inviting. As soon as I walked in, the waitress/hostess greeted me and offered me a seat. I let her know I was ordering to-go, and she immediately handed me a menu so I could make my selection. I quickly landed on the Tantan Ramen -- chicken broth, seasoned ground chicken, soft-boiled egg, hot oil, bok choy, scallions, and chili paste. And OMG, it was SO good! Flavorful, comforting, with just the right amount of heat. Exactly what I needed! The price was also a pleasant surprise! The ramen was listed at $18 on the regular menu, but it was only $15 as part of the lunch special. For a filling and delicious lunch in Midtown Manhattan, I thought that was a pretty good deal. I was also really impressed with how thoughtfully they packed the ramen for takeout. The broth came in a larger container, while all of the ingredients were packed separately in a smaller container that fit perfectly inside. No soggy noodles or ingredients sitting in broth during the walk back to the office! My only small critique is the shape of the broth container. It was pretty tall and narrow, which made everything a little difficult to stir once combined. A wider, more rounded container would make eating it much easier. Overall, delicious ramen, friendly and efficient service, great takeout packaging, AND a solid lunch deal. I'd absolutely go back -- even when my office isn't freezing me out!

The food was well executed, but the flavors didn't quite stand out for me. I had the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, which was pretty good with nicely cooked noodles, but the broth felt a little one-note. Since yakitori is their namesake, I also tried the 7-skewer combo along with the chicken skin and gizzard. The skin and gizzard were excellent, and the bacon-wrapped baby corn and cherry tomato from the combo were standouts. Everything was cooked well, but I wasn't a huge fan of the tare, which leaned pretty salty and lacked some balance. The lychee mango cocktail pouch was fun but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, a good spot for the atmosphere, service, and some standout skewers, but the food didn't quite wow me.

I've ordered the pork belly and chicken wasabi yakitori. The pork belly is cooked perfectly and has great flavor definitely a must try. I also loved the soju drinks! We tried pineapple and passion fruit, and they also offer plum and other flavors to choose from. The sushi is always tasty, and this time we tried their teriyaki plate. Both the chicken and steak (medium) were really good. The prices are reasonable and affordable, which is another reason we keep coming back. This spot is a must. Perfect for a cute date night or hanging out with friends

What a great find for motsunabe- a beef intestine based hot pot that is rich with veggies (cabbage…read moreand chives). Their set includes rice and matcha ice cream. A size small is more than enough to share for 2 people. The broth is amazing- hearty with a hint of miso. It's not a common dish to find so my heart is full! Truffle crab kamameshi was also impressive with the overload of minced snow crab and ikura eggs. It's like eating a heated chirashi sushi dish as it's set in a hot clay pot. Definitely a get if you love seafood. Yakitori overall was ok. They were all smothered in the same kind of sauce which took away from each pieces' flavor profile but overall they have a large menu offering for those looking for skewer options. For appetizers we recommend the tako wasabi (diced octopus in a wasabi based sauce) and the beef tongue. Ai Ki Ya is a great place for late night, Japanese soul food eats nestled in Korea town.
