Nucci's is a wonderful spot for a quick slice or an entire pie. I must admit that I have only eaten the cheese pizza from Nucci's because it's so delicious! I do t know what they put in their cheese blend, but it gets me every time. Their crust is thin with just the right amount of crisp! The staff at Nucci's are always polite and the service is fast. The restaurant shows that it supports local organizations by the various plaques displayed. The settings is casual and easygoing. During a recent visit to SLO, someone in our group recommended Nucci's Pizza... Say. No. More. Without a hitch, we all piled into our cars and made our way towards downtown San Luis Obispo. Our group of about 10 decided to go family style and just order a few pizzas, lasagna's & individual salads for the table and it worked out perfectly. The pizza was excellent (see for yourself, pics below) and it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of training. The Poppyseed Salad was delicious and was big enough to share, although I didn't. Haha. Our sever was really cool, relaxed and extremely patient with our slightly obnoxious group. We even celebrated someone's birthday and shared a Panucci (fresh chocolate chip cookie with ice cream & chocolate syrup)... It was pretty hilarious watching 10 grown men all sharing one dessert; thankfully we each had our own spoons. Lol. So the next time you are in SLO and you are feeling a little hungry... A nice surprise to finally find this Italian restaurant. First impression was the menu had a lovely variety of dishes. Italian food is something that is dominated by a few restaurants in San Luis Obispo. We ordered pasta and signature mini pizza, along with garlic bread. Service was table side for dinner which was great. The food arrived promptly and wow was it amazing. The meatballs had a nice flavor, marinara sauce was sweet, and the mini pizza tasted great. The meal was more than what we expected! My only snark is the dining area. Nucci's is wonderful for to go food/take out. The dining area felt like a bachelor pad hangout. I do not understand why Nucci's only gets 3.9 stars, I mean that's ridiculous. The pizza is absolutely perfect! The foothill special is my personal fav. The service is nothing special but let me tell you, they are doing it right. It much bigger inside than you would expect, and lots of seating. I don't understand why it only gets three stars, I've been here 8 times and I have never had any issue here! The service not depressing it's just that they are really locked in. This restaurant is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. I came for lunch on a Monday. I opted for a slice of cheese pizza with a Caesar salad. The price was ten dollars and some change which I thought was a great deal. There is a seating area and two tvs. If ambiance is your priority, you may be disappointed. Today I ordered the lunch special to go. As I was picking up my lunch, I asked for extra salad dressing. I was told they charge extra. I was there a few weeks ago and wasn't charged. I'm a little suspicious that this is a way for the staff to pick up some extra money. This employees are very low energy and seem unhappy to be working there. Went here for dinner last night and we were both happy we did! My girlfriend and I were both craving pizza and we picked this one based off of their ratings and affordable prices. We decided to start dinner off with there garlic bread and a side of marinara sauce. Wow! I definitely recommend you giving those a try because they were amazing! Then we went with two mini size pizza's one with sausage and pepperoni and the other with sausage and ricotta cheese and of course a ton of ranch. They came out fast and hot. Both were very delicious with a ton of toppings and flavor. Dropped by today Saturday at 6pm. Not one person was in there. Nice clean location, decent parking, attractive building and architecture. New, modern installation and decor. Very nice menu boards on the wall, nice lighting, ambiance and treatments. One big screen for the dining area showing sports. Front staff were Cal Poly girls non-stop talking about their school stuff. Order placement was fine. Back staff all Mexican listening to their music. I ordered the shrimp garlic pesto. It was brought out to me maybe 10 minutes later. From looking at it, I could tell they used bay shrimp from a jar and cheap ingredients. The sun-dried tomatoes were weird. The dough was ok I guess. But the strangest thing was the cheese: it was THE most toughest cheese I think I have ever encountered on a pizza. I mean I tugged on it and it pulled back at me. Really odd. This is the go to place for ordering good take out Pizza & stuff for some of the better Parties at work. The nice thing about a Party order is that you get to try 3-4 different Pizza's, salads, & sandwiches all at once...and even have it delivered to you. So for under about $200, you can feed 1-2 dozen people. Despite the naysayers, Nucci's is far better than the fast food Pizza places...but is not better than some of the best Pizza's around (whether in the great SLO area, or NYC). Their interesting choices of salads & sandwiches is different than many Pizza places. Some of my local friends really love the Nucci's sandwich. If you eat in the restaurant itself, it is not that impressive, but neither are the other places in this area. It is far better for you than donuts. If you are not in the mood for Pizza, you still can try the nearby Indian, Thai, BBQ, & some junk food places. Besides Nucci's, you have to drive quite a bit to get really good Pizza (like in Pismo or Shell Beach). Downtown SLO really does not impress me Pizza-wise. read more

I tried this place for the first time the other night with a friend. I ordered a personal Thai chicken pizza to go for $8.25. I really wanted to like it but there wasn't much there in terms of taste. I expected a kick of sweet tanginess in the sauce, generous portions of chicken and a handful of julienned carrots and bean sprouts-- like what I usually find at California Pizza Kitchen. Not the case here. There's only a hint of nuttiness despite the peanut butter sauce. Chicken pieces are small and few. It wasn't unpleasant tasting though. What?! Ok conspiracy! I know I did a review of Nucci's. Oh well I am happy to do another one. We love this place. The place has been recently renovated, the food is good, it's priced well, and the customer service is astounding. We've been coming here for years and it has always been consistently good. The management does a great job of hiring their wait staff as they are always friendly and helpful. We enjoy the food here but we almost always order the "dinner for 2" as it's a 12" pizza, two salads, and 2 breadsticks for $21. That will always feed the 2.5 of us. Sometimes we order the lasagne which is really good. What wifey truly enjoys is their poppyseed salad. She insists on it every time we go. It's a great place and I recommend it. I'm giving it 4 stars as I am judging the pizza against the other pizza places. It's not the best but it's pretty good. read more
