Delicious! My son Jack said it was the best tacos he's had (carne asada). I had the taco de lengua! It was muy rico!

Great tacos and friendly service. Going back tomorrow. Great salsa with onions, carrots and jalapeños to top your tacos with.

It has officially become our absolute favorite go-to spot in town. The ambiance is super unassuming and full of character. When you first walk in, it just looks like a small, local Latino grocery store stocked with great specialty ingredients. But as you head towards the back, you discover an absolute powerhouse of a taqueria kitchen. There's a tiny, quaint seating area inside where you can eat, or you can grab it to go. It completely side-steps the typical crowded, pricey resort-town vibe for something authentic and cozy. The food is spectacular. Whether you're getting their street tacos (the al pastor and asada are fire) or a hefty California burrito after a long day outdoors, the meats are perfectly seasoned, juicy, and served piping hot with great salsas. The quality is top-notch and the prices are incredibly fair for Mammoth. If you want a consistent, delicious meal that hits the spot every single time, skip the tourist traps and come straight here!

I'm pretty sure that the cooks would not eat this themselves, so why serve it to a paying customer. Very disappointed!

We left the patio with our children and their pizza while my husband stayed behind to wait for the food we had ordered for the adults. As we were leaving, a truck was parked very close to the patio gate. We were careful to hold the gate open and guide our children through so that it would not come into contact with the truck. Despite our efforts, the bartender, Ashleigh, came outside with an attitude and told us not to hit her truck on the way out. She then went back inside and told people sitting at the bar to come look at her vehicle. We approached the people who came outside to check the truck and explained that we had been very careful and had not allowed the gate to touch it. One gentleman was polite and said he believed us. We went back inside to speak with a manager, but one was not available at the time. Later, we called Mike simply to inform him about the bartender's behavior and how unnecessarily rude the interaction had been. He said he would address the issue with the owners and review the security cameras. We welcomed that suggestion because the footage would clearly show that we did not hit anyone's truck and had no issue complying with the request to leave the patio with our children's pizza. The situation could have been handled professionally and respectfully, but instead we were treated as though we had done something wrong when we had not.

The flavors and individual components of their food just comes together so well, with a balance and synergy that is rare to find. We drive up to Bishop at least a couple times a year from Los Angeles, and in addition to the backcountry, this place is one of the main reasons ther motivates us to return. Food is based on 150 year old family recipes that originated in Guadalajara. On top of that, the people that own and operate this business are so friendly? pleasant and hospitable. Thank you Brenda, Andrew, Ariabella, Abuelo and the others I missed for operating this place! Please come open up a place in Los Angeles if you ever choose to expand!!!

Ordered a bunch of different tacos to go : lengua, pastor, cabeza, chicken. They were all very delicious and authentic. However, I still prefer the taco place Tacos Y tortas La Chiquita in Arlington VA better! Ordering took a while because he prefers cash and I didn't bring any, his credit card machine wasn't working well and it took a long time before the internet got connected to be able to pay. Also... I was a little bit worried about how clean things are, the chef was handling money, his phone, the credit card tablet with his hands, not wearing gloves or sanitizing in between... luckily I didn't get sick afterwards.

And most places that sell Indian tacos use the cheapest version of those ingredients they can find, cheap ground beef, discount, pre-shredded cheese and iceberg lettuce. They just seem a little gimmicky. Where this place shines is their jams and jellies. Those are amazing!!! Homemade, flavorful and delicious the jams are the reason you need to swing by! We bought a few jars and with every spoonful we revel in their wonderfulness while simultaneously mourning the fact that we're one precious serving closer to an empty jar. Go get a bunch of jam! And if you accidentally have a mediocre "taco" on the way out, then so be it.

This place had been on my Yelp "to try" list for ages, so I was super stoked to finally be able to…read moregive them a try. Finding the taco stand was hard. I was expecting a taco truck in a casino parking lot, but this was more like a deluxe wooden shack on private property. Prior to this, I'd only had 'Indian tacos' once before, at a Native American cultural day at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. That one time was pretty much enough to make me a fan for life. Frybread tacos are all about the frybread. Truth be told, the filings don't matter. (As I write this, I can imagine a future full of gourmet 'Indian' tacos on Instagram, but...) The tacos are filled with cheap, super basic ingredients like full fat ground beef, iceberg lettuce, beef tomatoes, and "Mexican cheese blend." It's basically "white people taco night" on frybread. To me, having grown up in extreme poverty, these tacos taste like surviving poverty. They taste like a kind of soul food that you can only understand if you've lived it. (So if I see any too-privileged people knocking stars off because these tacos are exactly what they're supposed to be, I'll be shook.) When I saw the menu, I couldn't believe how cheap it all was. I'm pretty sure they need to raise their prices. I ordered a taco and a burrito (and got completely stuffed) for less than ten bucks. The ladies who work here all seemed super sweet. It didn't take long to get my order, and, in case this isn't clear by now, it was so good. I loved it. I plan to come back with friends.
