Been coming here for quite awhile, but not anymore. One of the items I've been coming here for is CBD edibles for pain management. The story is long so I won't bore you with it, but if one of your sales associates tells you that it's the same product that I have ordered before, you take it out to your car, open the box, see that it's not the same, walk immediately back into the place looking to exchange it. For the product that I know works, or something better, but they just look at you and say no exchanges. Well they lost a great customer. Between my partner and I we were spending around $400.00 a month. Not a tremendous amount but consistent. Not to mention all the people we have sent to NUG over other dispensaries. Shady business. Been coming here three years and I'm over it. Bought a cart, they even told me if it l doesn't work bring it back and they'll replace it. I went back for a replacement, the manager took out a battery and made me "test it" I hit it, smoke came out so he said he can't return since it "works". I also felt pretty uncomfortable doing this in the store as he knew I was going to drive right after.. Anyone that has ever had a faulty cart knows that smoke will still come out , but it's not the oil that's burning at all. I tried explaining this to him and all he replied with is "wow that's crazy". Lame excuse of a manager. On my most recent and last trip, the item came up as a way higher price than it was marked for. They just resorted to straight scamming like some losers. This is one of my favorite dispensaries! The staff are always super friendly and answer questions without being pushy; Kolbie helped us out today but everyone there is great. Even the security guards are hella chill! Love the open layout and being able to browse all the products myself. Prices are reasonable and include tax so there's no guessing game. Masks have been required since the beginning of the pandemic, and more recently they started taking temperatures upon entry. read more

I've been going to Nug consistently since they did a soft opening. It's always been a good experience. Today my ID got rejected, and the person at the front desk had to manually scan me in. She noticed that it happened to be my birthday. She told me to make sure I get a free pre-roll. Nick budtended for me today. He was great. Answered all my questions and was very helpful. On my way out he checked my receipt and he saw that he accidentally charged me for the pre-roll. He was very apologetic. I just wanted a second pre-roll so that they don't have to make a fuss about refunding me. He asked Mac to get another pre-roll from the back. Mac ended up bringing me a bag of gummies, cookies, and a pre-roll. They totally didn't have to, but it shows you the culture in this store. I'm in Hayward and there are plenty of choices nearby, but I always make the effort to go here. Long story short, Nug takes care of you, and the team is awesome. read more

This was my virgin visit to a properly licensed CA cannabis store. I needed something another day that helps me sleep. At least something to help me sleep better than alcohol and pills did during this dang heatwave (they don't anymore, hence the trip to a 420 store). The entrance is easy. Just go in, listen to the security dude telling you to take out your state ID, and scan it in to make sure you're legally good to go in. Once you're clear, just wait in line until an employee is free to see you. Both of my visits, the wait was under 10min. I don't care too much about face diapers myself, but everyone wore masks and kept the distance as I did. Once I got to the counter, I got exactly what I was looking for i.e. "Hi, I normally don't care for THC too much because it's not "fun" for me. I take a couple puffs, and 20 minutes later I'm crash landing in bed to sleep with some good music on. But with this heat wave and not being able to get a good night's rest, this is what I need. I want a vape pen because I can't be smelling like weed when I go to work tomorrow morning." I got a vape pen that did exactly what I needed it for. Help me fall asleep without feeling doped up the morning after. Best of all, despite all the extra marijuana taxes, the sticker price on your purchase is the price you pay out the door + %10 or so Alameda County sales tax, nothing more. read more

Listen, gang, this place is amazing. First of all you save a BUNCH of taxes by shopping in San Leandro. Next, the prices you see on the items include tax, I think. AND you get a discount if you order online and pick up. I have always paid less than what I expected to pay, which is CRAZY, but I walk out of there feeling like I got a good deal and I was treated right every time. Shout out to Darius, who, when I told him my budget and what I was trying to get, said "I got you" and friends, he sure as hell did. :) They only hire cool people there, or they pay them so much they're happy to be there or SOMETHING. I've visited this retailer about half a dozen times now and the first couple of times were great, the best were soon after they had their grand opening promos and such where I ordered online and came in and they either had everything I ordered or almost. Lately, this has changed and their online ordering system is not to be believed. My last two ordering attempts for both flower (indica) and a tincture were responded with my orders were available for pickup when they had no such products. This seems to have become a pattern of this retailer and likely is their way of doing business as they advertise desirable products on sites such as weedsites knowing full well and good that they do not have availability of what they are advertising. with the intent of cross selling you to whatever it is that they have excess to dispose of. Even worse, when I call up to verify an online order placed and question why they would confirm it as available for pickup when it really is sold out, guess what? They BLOCK MY NUMBER! It is obvious they only want me, you or anyone as their customer if you fit into the exact box of what they have available at that time (not what they say they have available) or even better yet for the deep nugger is to sell you what they really make money on. This is a big time waster and depending what they recommend may be of dubious value. Just a word to the wise that what is shown in any of their online displays is only "if" it happens to actually be there when you decide to order/visit. Maybe they buy 2 or 3 of item X and leave their postings up to s*ck you in. Personally, I prefer to spend my hard earned dollars at a retailer that is honest and appreciates my business. At NUG Wellness beneath the high ceilings and well-lit displays lurks an unusually off-putting attitude by many of its employees, especially the self-appointed gatekeeper ladies at the front desk who don't seem to know much about customer service and rule the place with an iron-hand. Coupled with the ever-present hulking guards this gives the place a kind of a prison atmosphere. So be prepared to be totally passive and ultra-polite or you will be shown the door. This is not your typical shopping experience even for a marijuana store. The first time I dropped in was about 4 weeks after opening and clearly some things needed to be sorted out (see other reviews). When I suggested to the front desk that business cards might be useful the response was not well-taken. I had asked Greg, the very helpful inventory manager, for a vape strain I couldn't find elsewhere. The front desk told to me to "go online" to see if it would ever be in stock. By the way, even though NUG has a website there was some confusion about why I would need to use a third party site (weedmaps.com) to find out what the San Leandro store has in stock. I went back a couple of weeks later and asked for Greg by name but apparently this is not acceptable protocol at NUG because he's not a regular bud-tender so I think I got another "black mark". After I was eventually allowed to speak to Greg he said he'd order what I wanted and to call back in a couple of weeks. Not the right move it turns out. You're not supposed to ask for Greg on the phone and if you persist and explain that he's been working with you it's considered "rude". I guess this was the last straw because I find I have now been BANNED from the store for "rudeness" to the staff. Maybe it's like this at all pot shops but with two others within just a mile of NUG you'd be well-advised to first try BLUM or the new Harborside branch store on Verna Court. (opening soon). I think the owner of NUG would be well-advised to encourage customer feedback rather than allowing it to be suppressed in an oppressively strict atmosphere where the usual business mantra of "the customer is always right" clearly does not apply. read more

I've been coming to this location since I moved to the Bay Area 2 years ago and it's taken me this long to make a review. But man was that a mistake because this place is 10/10 EVERY TIME! They do not miss, the customer service the personable interactions I have with every budtender and manager is top tier. From the deals, to the tenders to the receptionist this is my fave dispensary in the east bay hands down. Thank you guys for having my back every time.
