I feel an update is due as this spot has become a staple for last minute desserts and with the pandemic delivery being the most convenient options. I think their eclairs are the best in the city and with their ever evolving flavors one is bound to find a flavor profile that hits the spot. The overlooked items IMO are their cakes and other baked items. Their cookies were a pleasant surprise to say the least. I enjoy their praline gateau as its very good. Aveline is a good buy for special occasions. Red velvet is meh. The madelines were ok. If you are looking to feed your sweet tooth fix this is a good resource.
I come to Nugateau solely for their French eclairs. They have multitude of eclair flavours that resembles an exquisitely, beautiful edible art. They also feature a range of seasonally changing eclairs but also have their year round classic flavours. My favorite eclair is the Romeo, a Chocolate eclair with Hazelnut ganache and glazed with Praline and chopped Hazelnuts. Lightly sweetened with a crunch, it's simply divine and bursting with flavours. One drawback is their price. Starting at $7 +tax for an eclair, a little bit pricey so I only buy it on special occasions. Buying 6 eclairs exempts you from paying tax so you get a little bit of savings here.
The eclairs are exceptional in flavors and have a depth that is great with the flavor combinations and attention to the layers and the finish. The baked goods are high quality but have a hefty price tag. Perfect to bring to impress in laws or at an office party. But one eclair can run you $10 each. This place is unreal. Not only are they the most gorgeous eclairs I've ever seen. Every single one I've ever had there has been mind blowing Lee delicious. There is so much attention to detail, the filling is always so flavorful, the different flavours they put together are wonderful. I highly suggest getting this as a treat. They're also great to send as a gift because they come in a beautiful box I didn't get a picture of the other all of them because they looked so good we dove right in. We tried to chocolate and raspberry one as well as a strawberry rhubarb one. I would eat and all of these again

I walked by this place and was craving soft serve so I decided to stop in and so glad I did!! This place is known for their pastries which actually looked too pretty to eat. I ended up getting the papaya passion fruit soft serve and it was SO GOOD! The staff was super nice and helpful, and even let us sample the soft serve before we committed to a full cone. The soft serve was sweet and tangy, and perfectly balanced with the vanilla.
This shop is adorable. Unfortunately it was not open when I was in the area, but they currently have a popup shop at Square One with the same quality and assortment of eclairs. I was disappointed lavender and honey was a limited edition flavor in the spring, but I took a chance on the Jarden Rouge because it was just so pretty, and I'm glad I did. It was a mixed summer berry cremeux with a miniature strawberry macaron and seasonal berries. I was a little nervous because I can't stand seeds but if there were any inside the éclair, I didn't notice them. It was creamy and decadent, and while it was smaller than I expected, it was filling. I think the price was reasonable. It's comparable to what you'd spend on a fine dessert at a restaurant, and this was definitely a fine dessert. The flavor and texture were wonderful, and even the miniature macaron was amazing. I thought it might be stale because it was a decoration, but it was the favorite of all the macarons I had during my stay even though strawberry isn't my favorite flavor. Nugateau will definitely be a must-visit if I'm in Toronto again, and I'll recommend it to anyone who goes.
Nugateau is a next level eclairs. The beautiful designs they offer at the shops, makes me hard to choose. So I pre-ordered the Valentine's day special for $45. Love the flavors and texture. This is a small shop on Queen that was on our list cause of the eclairs. We shared the blueberry and mango. Both were pretty and very tasty. Pastry was light and the filling was very flavorful. Quite a variety of flavors and they had a few samples out to try. Seating is very limited and not the most comfortable but enough to take a few bites, sip on a drink and go.

The eclairs are all beautifully hand-crafted with gorgeous, unique, and cute (insert every compliment) designs. Every eclair is a clone - there's literally NO imperfection. The flavors are also unique. Each eclair has a medley of flavors that work well with each other, yet are not overwhelmingly too sweet. The toppings also add more depth with a texture (compared to a normal, simple eclair) Definitely changed the eclair game.
On the box: A pastry, long in shape, but short in duration Very true. I spent $9. It lasted oh maybe a minute. It's a small intimate space filled with fresh assortments of eclairs done in some unique ways. I was hoping for the foie gras flavour but I tried the tiramisu. Delicious. They come in an Uber cute box. Definitely, makes a nice gift or a treat for someone.

The pastries looked so good from the outside that I needed to go in to grab a few to try out! The colours of the pastries looked so vibrant and decadent that there was no way that I wouldn't like it since I have a huge sweet tooth! I was disappointed with the eclair because it was super dry as if it's been sitting in the display case for a really long time that it was not good whatsoever! The cheesecake was decent but I would definitely not be coming back.

We stopped by Nugateau and were blown away by their beautiful, handcrafted éclairs. Here's what we tried: JULIETTE: A stunner with Mexique 66% dark chocolate mousse, raspberry cremeux, compote, and cocoa almond sponge. Almost too pretty to eat! Caramel Beurre Salé: Rich caramel filling, sea salt glaze, and caramel pearls--a sweet-salty dream. MI AMERE: Decadent 64% dark chocolate cremeux and a glossy chocolate glaze for true chocoholics. Pistachio Éclair: Creamy pistachio goodness in every bite. Chocolate Mousse Cake: Layers of flourless almond cake, dark chocolate mousse, raspberry compote, and whipped milk chocolate ganache. Divine! Raisin Cake: Classic, moist, and perfectly sweetened. Each dessert was stunning, delicious, and bursting with flavor. If you're on Queen Street, Nugateau is a must! read more
Walking by this brightly lit store at 7PM, I went to grab a quick eclair for my own interest. For a person that has never had an eclair, it was very sweet and once you bite into it, there's a layer of fudge within the eclair. Chocolatey and fudgey as I imagined it, it's a nice spot for a quick snack. read more

The pastries looked so good from the outside that I needed to go in to grab a few to try out! I've walked by here countless times and never had the chance to stop in until yesterday and I'm so glad I did! Everything looked so beautiful it was hard to pick, but settled on (from left to right): pumpkin cheesecake, pistachio, cookies and milk and the Juliette (chocolate raspberry). They were all fabulous the only note I would have is the pistachio filling was a touch salty, but I was into that! These are a perfect gift or pick me up when you want to treat yourself. read more
I've visited Nugateau a few times now. It is a small but cute bakery, they have a lot of unique flavours for eclairs which are definitely worth trying! So far I have tried the hazelnut, vanilla, and cookies and cream eclair. By far hazelnut is my favourite. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their products each time I go. They have new flavours for you to try out and both savory and sweet eclair options. The only downside about it is the price, I do find the price point to be quite high for one small dessert that isn't too filling. It is priced at about $7 or more depending on what you get but if the price isn't important to you, I would recommend you to visit at least once. read more

Eclairs! Brand new pastry place. Everything just so pretty and so yummy. Aside from sweet, they also have savoy eclairs. Seriously, smoked salmon. Staff is super nice and helpful! Love their individual packaging as mine stayed impact until I got home! The Persian Pistachio has such a balanced delicate flavour without being overly sweet. $30 for 6. read more

Just walking along Queen St and this place caught my eye. It looked new and it had lovely eclairs in the window. Stepped in and found out they had only been opened a few days! Score! It's a small place - no room to really sit and have a drink and eat their eclairs - it's more of a take out joint. Right now they have their sweet eclairs for sale but the owner mentioned that shortly they will have more of the savoury ones to try - lobster exlairs! I can't wait to try the savoury ones because I don't really have a sweet tooth. But they looked so lovely that I decided to try the dark chocolate one because I am a sucker for dark chocolate. I did see an egg nog one, a Persian pistachio one and a raspberry one as well. Most ranged from about $4-6 for one or about $25-35 for 6. Yes a bit expensive but a great hostess present if you need one. Different from store bought cake. My dark chocolate one was divine - it had a chocolate ganache inside and wasn't too sweet which I love. The packaging is cute - it helps so that the eclair doesn't get squished which is great. The eclair itself gets put into a plastic case and then inside a box. It's those small details that are thought out that I appreciate. Nothing worse then getting home and finding your pastry all squished up. The staff/owners are really nice and can definitely give you information about their pastries. Can't wait to try the savoury ones in the future! read more
OOOOOOH, the eclairs here are sooo good!! The first time I came here, I pre-ordered six eclairs online, and wow, that (savoury) foie gras eclair was so worth it! The sweet eclairs were also as delicious as they were beautifully decorated. Some were decadent, and some were light. Our favourite sweet eclair might be the Cookies N' Milk. Although I don't recommend eating six eclairs in one sitting (my boyfriend and I shared them), I would totally do it again... Which we did, a year later. No regrets! read more
Picked up three eclairs for the family from the pop up store at the RBC Plaza in the Financial District. The pop up has limited selections Picked up three flavours - Cafe Au Lait, Romeo and Salted Caramel. At $5 - $6 a pop, they are packed in a neat little box. The Cafe Au Lait was the best one as rated unanimously by the family and then the Romeo and the Salted Caramel. The CaL had perfect level of coffee flavour and sweetness to it the the Romeo with topped nuts was almost like Ferrero Rocher. The Salted Caramel lacked the balance between sweet and salt. I went to sq1 Mississauga and there was a holiday market inside the mall. The holiday market had eclairs and other desserts from Nugateau P. My bf got the snowbelle eclair and I couldn't help but have a bite! I couldn't resist the temptation. Oh my! It was delicious...I'm drooling just thinking about it. We do think the eclair is a bit expensive, but it was worth it. I mean just staring at it, the eclair calling your name to try it....ughhhh lol :-D read more
Delicious baked and filled mini pastries. Love the different varieties they offer. Each one tastes a little different. Favourite would be the choc or pistachio ones. Would go often if price point was lower since they are quite small and easily finished within three bites. read more
The Juliet: Raspberry Chocolate Truffle éclair was made with Tanzania single origin 75% dark chocolate cremeux with raspberry compote. This was really good! The Caramel Beurre Salé had a rich caramel filling with sea salt, caramel glaze, and salted caramel pearls. The Romeo: Praline éclair had alunga and hazelnut praline ganache, gianduja glaze with chopped hazelnuts and praline grains. The Pink Guava éclair had white chocolate and pink guava cremeux, guava glaze, and chocolate pearls. This éclair really had a good guava flavour to it! It was the less sweet out of the bunch. The Cookies & Milk éclair was a chocolate eclair encrusted in chocolate Sablé crumble sandwiched in between with rich Opalys cream, chocolate pearls, and a shot of milk. This was really decadent but tasted so good. The shot of milk was such a fun extra too! The Matcha Yuzu éclair had organic Japanese matcha mousse, white chocolate glaze, and yuzu gelée. It definitely tasted of both matcha and yuzu flavours. Another well-made éclair! I liked all of the éclairs. I liked how they weren't too sweet either. For about $6 for one or $34 for a six-pack for a small pastry, it was justified by the high quality of ingredients and effort put into making each one. This place takes the cake for customer service! Been meaning to check this place out after all the rave reviews, and it way surpassed by expectations (which can be hard, as I can be a snob). The eclairs are beautifully presented in their cases, with a wide selection of flavours. We tried the matcha yuzu and the lemon meringue. The shells are super light, the cream deliciously flavourful, and the nice touches on top are beautiful (definitely Instagram food if I had it). GET THE LEMON MERINGUE eclair. It is beautifully tart, not overly sweet, and the meringue on top is the perfect light bite. The lady behind the counter was super patient as we looked at all the eclairs and explained what they all were. She did not rush us (even though they were closing up), and was super upbeat and kind. We decided that we were too full for eclairs, and decided we would come back soon to try out these creations. However, the owner loves his craft, and pours his heart into it! He informed us that it was the last day they'd be offering those flavours, and told us to try them on the house. Thank good he insisted because the lemon was to die for! This small exchange made my entire day, and I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR CREATIONS!!!!! read more

The most decadent, eye appealing & delicious eclairs to encounter. They mix up the designs and flavors from time to time as well. Its a hefty price point at approx 7 dollars an eclair - definitely a special treat on occasion! However its a must try i say! read more

This place looks captivating in the window, bright interior with pops of colour I came here an hour before closing and they didnt have many flavours left, so the display looked a bit empty. At $5-$6 for each which is about 5 bites, it is a steep treat and definitely not for everyday. I picked up the pistachio and coffee one. The pistachio one comes covered in glittery green glaze on top. It was A LOT of glitter and really green in colour, mixed with the sticky and goopiness of the glaze it felt a bit like eating slime and not in a good way. The rest of the eclair was pretty good though, but I don't think it was worth the $6. The coffee one had great coffee flavour and had a more appetizing colour. It all comes beautifully packaged in boxes with dividers for each eclair. I would come again if I was really in the mood for one or for a gift. read more

I have seen this eclair shop at the Bay Queen Street underground marketplace before and finally decided to give it a try. This is a pop up shop but it's been here since the marketplace was renovated. The eclairs on display are beautifully decorated and are not your standard eclair. These are modern eclairs with different flavors and pairings. Bought two eclairs to go: lemon meringue and cafe at lait. The eclair pastry is excellent, thin, airy and dry. The filling is perfect and uniform throughout. The lemon meringue was just right tart and not overly sweet. The cafe au lait was perfect. Both worth the price paid. Treat yourself to a bite of haute choux. At $6-7 per eclair this pastry shop sets a high bar and it delivers. read more
