At first, my impression was that nugget is similar to but a smaller selection than Whole Foods with prices higher than the Safeway across the freeway. Then, I started coming here more often for last minute groceries and alcohol... and realized what a gem this place is. They sometimes get small batches of limited edition alcohol, such as the HenHouse Big Chicken and have varieties such as Pliny, the Elder. But the true value of this place is something so easily forgotten in the Bay area... which are the people. They'll remember your name, go out of their way to be helpful and do things that leave you with a warm feeling. read more

This is a terrific grocery store & specialty market distinguished by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. It has been a very long time since I have been consistently delighted by superior customer service. Nugget shines in this area. The market and it's goods are also very good, although some things are higher priced than other places. This is to be expected of a place like this though. The selection of goods for sale is excellent, ranging from local & artisan products to more mass market items. I like the mix. There are some brands that I had never come across before that are great finds. We've had their prepared lunches/dinners which have been pretty good and overall the sandwiches are good. My kids love the macaroons and while I haven't tried any of the cakes from the bakery, they look lovely. Nugget Market is a great full service market - check it out! read more

I am really surprised about the negative reviews. While there is a part of me that misses Paradise Foods, I truly believe this feeling is more nostalgia than anything else. That is because I can still recall the opening of Paradise Foods, my son's first job was at Paradise Foods and because I regularly stopped in for coffee, produce and fresh meats. Setting aside these fond memories, I really like Nugget Market so much better. Nugget has a good variety of fresh produce, great seafood and meat items, nice salad/hot food bar, friendly and responsive workers, and has a layout/decor that is aesthetically pleasing. Plus, I find the price of my groceries to be less than what I paid at Paradise Foods and Whole Foods. Some negatives - I really miss the outside barbecue (they really need to bring that back) and the fresh made bakery items are not as interesting as what they were. read more

I stopped here for lunch while on a Tiburon Loop bicycle ride. I just wanted to shout out that nice sure goes a long way. Every thing and every one was just so nice. But, the reason I am writing this review is my sandwich. I ordered a hot sandwich - Chipotle something or other - on the beef menu. Now, I realize that sandwiches come and go, but this one was just so good - every bite. Was it the particular person who made it? Maybe. Was it just the right combination of ingredients that flipped my particular switch? Quite possibly. But whatever the secret sauce was, I will be back. read more

I have never been treated so well in a grocery store before. Unlike many of the staff at their competitors, the staff at the Nugget are polite, helpful, smily, and professional. Not occasionally but every time I am there. It is incredible. I don't know how they do it. They must carefully screen who they hire, and also train employees in friendly and courteous customer service. No attitude, no arrogance, no rolling-of-the eyes. The employees don't look annoyed if you ask a question. They aren't running around the store practically throwing you down while stocking the store. This place has its priorities in order: great selection, great food, and great customer service. The cashier and the checker focus on the customer and the process; again, unlike so many other grocery stores, the staff don't ignore the customer and instead chat with each other. You should go here just for the professional, wonderful treatment! The Nugget has a great selection in everything, especially various yogurts that I've never seen anywhere else. They offer both health foods and conventional products, which is great. The bakery items and breads look delicious. There is pleasant and relaxing music playing in the background. They aren't blasting you with some annoying rap or a Beatles song that you've heard one too many times in your life. And during Covid, the staff there have remained calm and helpful. Not having good experiences with Nugget in the last several months. The produce is not fresh, I've often returned home to find mildew in the berries, and wilted vegetables. Not a great selection either, or much of it. High marks for both the meat and deli departments. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We found this market in Corte Madera almost by accident. It has a great meat and seafood counter. Good vegetables and some nice pastries and breads. We don't have any business in Corte Madera itself, but we take the time to stop at the nugget market when we're going bye to Healdsburg or San Francisco. This is my neighborhood market and I am very glad that nugget has taken over this space because the last market that was in here was so bad that I would drive past it and go miles away to find a decent market. There is plenty of free parking in the parking spot except for maybe high traffic times like lunchtime or maybe dinner time when commuters are buying food to take home with them. It is a market on the small side so you don't have to walk down a lot of long isles for the things you need all their products are of really good quality with national brands that you can recognize plus specialty items. They have a deli department for sandwiches which can be a little bit of weight at lunchtime also lots of premade packaged foods to take home and microwave. They used to have the best deal in town with quality ice cream for only I think it was under a dollar for a con but that does not have any more. They have a full meat department with a couple guys willing to help you with whatever you need their prices are pretty good too I usually will buy fresh snapper to use in making fish tacos and it is consistently about 9.99 a pound which is a good value. there are always a lot of checkers available so if you have to wait in line it might only be one or two people in front of you this is probably one of the best things about the market is there is never really any lines and you're in and out of the store very fast read more

Poor quality in the produce department in my most recent visit this past Friday. Not much product on display, staff not knowledgeable. The other locations I've been too around the bay I never had issues with and this was my first time to experience poor management at a Nugget store. As a customer I look for quality products as well as quality customer service, didn't find that that day at this location. Is this under new management? Will. They can never get a sandwich order right, whether you order in person or over the phone, there is usually something wrong with the order once you unwrap the sandwich. It's very frustrating and I am not sure why they can't get it right. I last ordered the Van Gogh sandwich on Friday and the sprouts smelled like a chemical cleaner, I had to toss the entire sandwich. Plus the lady taking the lunch orders, I think her name badge said Kristen, was aggressively rude to all the customers. She kept yelling at the customers waiting that they were understaffed. Even if you are understaffed I don't think it's necessary to tell at the customers, bad customer service. read more

This is like the Mercedez Benz of grocery stores. They really put the "super" in supermarkets. Is it more expensive than Safeway? Yes. But given their impressive selection of fresh produce + meats, deli items (both made-to-order and take-out items), their bevy of beverage options, and the over all feng shui of the store... I think Nugget Market is worth the extra money. Best of all, all the employees are friendly and welcoming. No long lines at the check-out stand. And if you grab something from the deli, they have plenty of outdoor tables for a quick lunch in the sun. I recently came here to pick up a panini. It was a bit pricey ($9), but it was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. So I can't complain too much. What I dig about this particular Nugget store (unlike the Tiburon location) is that they sell spirits and not just wine/beer, and for a reasonable price. All in all, I'm impressed with this store. And even though it's a few miles away from where I live, I think it's totally worth the extra minutes in the car for a real satisfying grocery shopping experience. read more

I almost settled for three stars, but shopping here is an immense pleasure. Since Nugget took over, they have improved the store by carrying a wider selection of products. The fresh section is fun to shop in to get items for meals at home or picnics. The employees are helpful, such as the butchers when it comes to selecting the right piece of meat. The prices are quite high, but they sell good quality compared to places like Safeway so it's a trade-off. There are better places to buy some things like wine, but if money's no object you might as well get that here too. I prefer it to Woodland's because of the interesting selection such as frozen, beverage, cheese, vitamins, etc. The produce is good- just got the best watermelon of the season yesterday in my opinion. There are many grocers to choose from, but this is worth shopping at, at least occasionally. read more

Clearly there are mixed reviews and I understand how demanding the Marin County markets and expectation levels are so please take any negative reviews with a grain of salt. Now to my Yelp. I get my salads here 4-6x per month. Amazing front end staff and they are super nice. The manager is so friendly and hands on. You will even see the manager outside sweeping and chatting it up with the customers. They have an amazing salad bar with a great variety. The salad bar is fair priced and reasonable for Marin Co. I have nothing but good things to say about Nugget Market in Corte Madera and I think they are the benchmark of what you should expect from products, service, deli, etc. The store is well stocked and organized and the bathrooms are always clean. Also, this is a great place to grab a quick bite and eat outside weather permitting. They do have coffee as well which is great if you want to sit outside with a friend and talk or get some work done on the laptop. Great job and I truly look forward to my visits to your market. Went to nugget to get sandwiches (my favorite). I have celiacs disease but am not too sensitive unless there's direct cross contamination. The woman at the counter, I believe her name was Kristin W, was so helpful and thorough and said she would do her best to not contaminate my sandwich. She did tell me there is a chance tho since it's in an enviro with gluten, but I really appreciated how she went through the extra trouble and steps to use a new board and knives and to scrub down the panini grill. She was so helpful and found us in the store to bring us our sandwiches. read more

I'm surprised by the negativity of the other reviews. I've been very impressed by the helpful, friendly, and professional staff and management at the Cove's Nugget Market. For example, I was there yesterday. They had tasting tables set up all through the store with representatives from many local vendors/producers (Zoe's meats from Santa Rosa, cheese from far Northern CA, goats milk, specialty yogurts, natural chicken nuggets, salmon, and coffee), and each one was friendly and informative. Unlike Paradise (and certainly unlike Woodland's), many items throughout the store were on sale. I've gotten great deal on jumbo shrimp and NY strips. That NEVER happens at other Tiburon stores, ever. Not to mention that Nugget sells locally-sourced Zoe's deli meats for the same price, or cheaper, than other national brands. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. During my visit yesterday, at least 5 different people asked if I needed assistance, and that's been my usual experience there. All the staff members say hello, and staff are easy-to-find and plentiful. The thing I like best so far is the brand variety. Other stores might stocked 1 or 2 different brands of the same product, but Nugget will have multiple choices. Take sliced cheese for example: Safeway will stock Kraft, Sargento, and Lucerne. Woodlands might have Kraft, and one or two natural/kosher items (at a premium price). Nugget has Kraft, Sargento, Boar's Head, Tilamook (sp?), and then 2-3 other unique brands too (all usually on sale!). Same with other dairy products and most of the grocery items I usually shop for. The bread from Truckee Bread Company is particularly notable--try finding marble rye anywhere else nearby! The store is clean, well-lit, conveniently arranged, spacious. No complaints from me. I love this place first for how friendly and service oriented they are! Great place to get in and out of quickly. Very short lines. I like the imported bread they have from France. organic ice cream selection , frozen berries, free range eggs and large selection of organic dairy. They have some great sales on free range meat. I would buy even more from them if they stocked a greater amount of organic produce and items (then it would be 5 stars) Love the people who work there. read more
