I've been shopping at Nugget for years, and I probably spend more here than I should. A huge reason is the people. The customer service is just consistently good, and it makes the whole shopping experience feel different. I also want to give a specific shoutout to Theo. I think he was hired pretty recently, but he's already one of my favorite people there. He has this hilarious, old-timey sense of humor that makes checking out way more fun than it has any right to be. Not curmudgeonly at all. Just quirky, dry, and genuinely funny. I find myself going to his line whenever I see him because I know I'm going to leave laughing. More people should talk about how great the staff is here. This is everything grocery shopping should be. The employees are super friendly, there are enough employees there that you're not waiting around for anything, there's always someone bagging while the checker works, there are NO self checkout lines (I can't stand self checkout), and you don't have to enter your phone number into anything in order to get the sale prices. In the rare occasions when I'm not able to find something I wanted, it's because it's something so obscure I wind up having to either ordering it online or making a trip to some hidden specialty store in the Bay Area to get it. I've been shopping here for a couple of years. There's another grocery store that's five minutes from my house, but I drive the 20 minutes to shop here because the overall experience is so much better. Today's trip really stood out to me because of a couple things... while I was at the deli waiting for the clerk to work on my order, at least three other employees came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I've been to other stores where I've stood at a counter for literally 5 minutes, watching employees going out of their way to not acknowledge me. That never happens here. Then I was really taken aback by how the peppers and mushrooms were displayed. The fact that whoever stocked these mushrooms took the time to turn every mushroom cap side up and arranged all the portobellos the way they are speaks to a dedication to quality work. You can tell that in this store, nobody half-asses anything, and the employees take pride in what they do. read more

Nugget Markets is basically the bougiest grocery store chain in the greater Sacramento area. All of the packaged deli foods perpetually look like they were chopped within the past thirty minutes, the bakery section looks like an actual high end European bakery, the floors are clean enough to eat off of, and the associates all seem happy with their jobs. This particular Nugget has a fairly large upstairs patio area with tables, chairs, restrooms, water bottle refilling station, microwave, etc. Lots of grocery stores in this area have a downstairs lounge area, but being upstairs (but still accessible via a ramp and elevators) gives it an extra edge. Plus you can't beat that view of the Mercedes dealership. The salad selection is some of the best I've seen anywhere, although they are very pricey at about $10/8oz (which is why I haven't actually tried one). I came here in search of some tampons that I couldn't find at Target, and was thrilled that this store carried small boxes of single sizes, versus the huge multipacks they had at Target. Thank you Nugget for doing a better job at procuring feminine health items than Target. As a bonus this store (like many others) is within walking distance of the wetland preserve. read more

UPDATE Just a shout out to remind our community how lucky we are to have a Nugget Market. Yes, it is definitely an upscale shopping destination as opposed to a Safeway, Raleys, or Trader Joes. However, sometimes it is nice to have a market for extra special food items that no one else carries. I feel the shopping experience is elevated at the Nugget. You do not wait in line for 30 minutes like I have had to do at Safeway and Raleys stores. There is more help available at the Nugget when you need it. Nugget carries so many local vendor goods: wine, produce, bakery goods, cheese items to name a few. All high quality products. My latest find was Jeni's ice creams. Sooo "off the chart" good. Hope these stay as a permanent item! The deli is fantastic. Brick oven pizzas fly off the shelf. Bakery is heaven on earth with delicious fresh, hot coffee. So count your blessings the Nugget is there when you need it. I do! And honestly I feel the prices are reasonable for what you get. read more

So a friend recommended nugget to me for lunch she said they have really amazing fresh baked bread sandwiches. So I definitely needed to try it out. I had the Colonel chicken sandwich. Oh my goodness it was so delicious! There was others. I really wanted to try as well, but I'm so glad I tried this sandwich. They have so many different options to go with and even acute area to dine in upstairs and one little small table to eat outside, which is really cool. I have no words to describe how much I love Nugget. I had never been here, but my friend loved it and raved about it all the time. She finally brought me and WOW. Their fruit tarts are so so so good. The cream isn't overly sweet, the crust is sturdy but soft, and the fruits are always so fresh. I also tried their brownie which was good, just a bit too chocolatey, but that's a me issue. Sushi platters! The staff for the sushi section is top notch. For the past two years, I've purchased sushi platters. It's easy to order with the staff. They create beautiful platters with quality ingredients. Five stars! What do they have... a sushi chef working back in the kitchen?!? Forget the price club platters and check out Nugget Market. Currently the sushi platters are 20% off from 12/11/24-1/7/25. Order with the staff working the sushi and/or deli counter. If there is no one at the sushi counter, ask the deli staff. The deli counter is right next to the sushi counter. Even though the sign asks for 24 hour notice, if you are in a time pinch, it's worth asking them. Sometimes they have been able to accommodate my request and other times no. I mention the ordering protocol because non deli folks may give you differing ordering protocol information such as calling the store or ordering online. That would be good advice if the website offered those options. For my latest sushi platter purchase, the sushi staff was just super easy and pleasant ti communicate with and they created a quality, gorgeous platter on time. read more

Nugget Market carries a vast selection of organic products as well as organic produce within their inventory. Carrying a vast organic selection, I don't need frequenting Sacramento Co-Op as often due to Nugget Market as well as Cameron Park's Fork Lift carry the organic products and produce I need creating my dietary restricted, meal plans. BTW: Are you aware Cameron Park's Fork Lift is affiliated with Nugget Market? Aside, one of the main reasons shopping at Nugget is due to religiously purchasing Dr. Bronner's one-gallon peppermint soap, toothpaste, and organic lotion, i.e., Dr. Bronner's products do not leave an uncomfortable, itchy residue on my skin and more importantly, the toothpaste doesn't formulate fluorides or other undesirable chemicals formulated with unhealthy brands I must refrain mentioning. Moreover, the healthcare products I purchase at Nugget Market lasts almost one year with the exception, using the toothpaste which I use one tube per month. read more

I love to stop in at Nugget to browse the wonderful selection of products it offers, and I especially enjoy it's emphasis on locally grown/produced food, with a note on price tags that specifies it as local within 100 miles. One of my all-time favorite items here is raw honey that is produced by the El Dorado Honey Company, which is something that you will find at the local farmers market. For those of us that miss the farmers market, it is so wonderful to have such local products available at Nugget. And they're open until 10pm! It also offers more unconventional health food items that will not be found at standard grocery store chains: raw milk, raw kefir, and raw cream. On Thursday, I visited at 9pm and the store is always meticulously stocked and well maintained. I love coming here for their pre-made dessert section when I want something sweet, as they offer options for a single person between $4-6, which I love. I got a Magic Bar, which is a brownie covered with chocolate chips, walnuts, shredded coconut, and condensed milk. So yummy! I love Nugget Markets! read more

Reno needs a place like this! The Nugget Markets are somewhat between a Sprouts and a Whole Foods, leaning on the Whole Foods vibe. A little pricey but of course this store in in El Dorado Hills. Fancy. I remember a year ago when I bought my car at Mercedes right next door, my car salesman asked if I wanted a sandwich from Nugget Market and I said yes. It was pretty darn good. This was my first time inside, I was just browsing to kill time. It's very clean and also constantly crowded. There's an upstairs space for dining. First let me start by saying the very friendly and knowledgeable young lady that took my cake order was wonderful. She adjusted the pick-up time which was so kind, also. The cake was beautifu. When I picked it up, however, there was a big red sticker on the box that read pre-paid. I thought I could pull it off, as I was taking the cake to a restaurant. The box ripped when I tried. So, I walked back in to ask for another box. It was as if I was asking for a million dollars. The bakery employee asked "where is your cake?" I said it was in the car. She said she would have to charge me or I could go back to the car, bring the cake back in and have her exchange the box. When I asked to speak to her manager, she said she's outside, and did not say I'll get her for you. She finally handed me a box with much attitude. It was shocking. I worked at a grocery store as the hiring manager, but started out in the bakery. That would never be considered good customer service. It's got a wide variety of items, from everyday name brands to specialty items, it's spacious, clean, and well stocked, the wait at the checkout stands is usually small and it's got a great staff. I compared their prices to Raleys and Safeway and I was surprised to discover that the prices were very close. Given the superior quality of the facility, goods, services and the overall shopping experience, Nugget feels like a bargain. is everything always perfect? No. But when there's a problem, management has always stepped up and done the right thing.
