Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

When it stopped heating in Winter (thankfully, we have back-up propane), CM quoted us $3,200 for a thermal expansion valve (TXV) replacement. They explicitly said that while the parts were covered under warranty, the labor was not. We got a second opinion -- and while the part failed, the second company pointed out that we had a 10 year parts and labor warranty (he was easily able to get to this info, which means CM should have, too -- especially since they sold it to me). I've now called CM several times to inform them that they need to cover the repair, but I've been ghosted. I assume this is likely because they can charge a higher rate for labor on a customer-pay job than they can be paid by the warranty company and are hoping I'll go to another company, but I have no proof of that. As far as I'm concerned, they sold me the unit and the warranty -- and they can do the repair. Once the warranty is over? I'll never deal with CM again.

Don't work with this company…read more After purchasing their annual maintenance plans for both our heater and air conditioner, they no-showed on three separate appointments. Why did I agree to the third appointment? Because the owner promised us a full refund PLUS $1000 if they didn't show for the last appointment. Despite them not showing for the last appointment, and sending me an email stating they would be sending me a check, it never showed up. I've tried calling, texting, and emailing them to resolve the issue, but they're definitely ignoring the problem. This was months ago, and to date, I've not received the service we paid for, received a refund, or even received a reply about the issue. We're now out hundreds of dollars, and I missed three full days of work for nothing.

They said it would take two days to install, and by God it took two days to install! Rylan and Jake B. went above and beyond to make sure the install went flawlessly. They had to battle tree roots that were making the outdoor pad not level, an poorly tuned auxiliary gas furnace that just barely fit in the space required, and curious but clueless home owners with a bunch of questions. Rylan and Jake handled all these obstacles with good-natured aplomb. It's clear these dudes love their work; I can recall Jake grinning wildly while doing battle with the furnace. They rerouted some of the ducts and piping in the furnace closet and moved things around a bit so everything fit better, and installed an automatic power shutoff device to protect against water damage. The furnace area now looks neat and tidy as a bonus. Rylan noticed the low and high furnace fan speeds were both set ridiculously high, which was likely the reason for some of our historically uneven cooling and heating. Love the attention to detail here!

Tanner arrived and found more floor needed to be taken up to do the toilet flange replacement correctly. Tanner rescheduled for next day. Great. Curt arrives next day to do the ROUTINE toilet flange replacement. Curt completes the job in 45 minuets. Great. I meet Curt at his truck to pay, I have $20 in my hand for a tip. Curt hands me a bill for $780. Curt labeled the flange replacement a "custom job." It was not custom by any definition. I don't know if I was charged for the day before when Tanner could not do the work. The bill stated "custom job $780.00 plus tax. No breakdown for parts and labor. Parts were 1 pvc toilet flange, 1 pvc 3 inch 90, 1 3 inch pvc union and approximately 2 feet of 3 inch pvc pipe. I will guess on the heavy side for parts at $75. So labor was $705 for the 45 minuets of work. Neurosurgeons in Washington state average $378 an hour. I called Curt the next day. Not much to be said about the bill. Get the estimate, get the second opinion! I'm an idiot. I kept the $20. I need to give a star rating. 5 for the work and friendly employees. it would be very difficult not to complete the job. 1 for hourly rate and billing practices. Rhett

Seatown Review: Before You Hire, Read About Our Experience…read more We hired Seatown because of a previous positive experience with one of their plumbers. When our water heater failed, we contacted them again for a replacement and several electrical projects, including an EV charger installation. The salesperson who came to our home told us he could offer a particularly good deal and an additional 10% discount if work started immediately. Based on those representations, we signed the estimates and proceeded. Shortly after work began, we started researching the pricing and became concerned that the quoted costs were far higher than market rates. For example, we were quoted approximately $7,500 for a replacement water heater and installation. Our later research indicated the unit retailed for about $2,350, leading us to question the overall pricing. In total, Seatown's billings approached $17,000. Based on our own research and discussions, we believed a reasonable price for the completed work was closer to $8,500. We requested a detailed review of the charges before making additional payments. After discussions with Seatown, the company reduced the total cost by approximately $7,000. We ultimately paid about $8,500, including our down payment. We also discovered that a required electrical permit had not been obtained before work began. The permit was secured approximately one month after completion of the work. During the subsequent city inspection, the work initially failed inspection and required corrective action before ultimately passing. Our concerns were not with the workers themselves, who were generally professional and courteous. Rather, they involved the pricing, sales process, and permit handling. Based on our experience, we strongly recommend obtaining multiple bids, asking detailed questions about permits, and carefully reviewing pricing before signing any agreement. Doing so could save you thousands of dollars.
