I am so glad they opened in the spring valley area!! We badly needed a good Indian place nearby. Tried the lunch buffet and it was great! I believe it's $18.99 on the weekend. Bad service. So I ordered food on Too Good to Go, which is an app designed to buy whatever excess stock a restaurant has. Basically buying things that would've been thrown out. I was excited because it was my first order and my sister and I were going to split. I made the order rspv at 4PM and pickup was between 8 to 830pm, when we got there at 8 I had my sister go in to pick up the food. I waited for her for over 15 minutes confused why it took so long. Turns out the waiter was giving her crap about ordering food online *on the app they advertise themselves on* and told her repetitively not to order online again. What's good is that we got our order, and the tikka is fine. But we also got an eggroll that looks like it was but in half alongside it. read more

I ordered the butter chicken and unfortunately it wasn't what I expected. The sauce was much thinner than I'm used to--almost watery--and it was extremely salty, to the point that I couldn't finish it. Butter chicken is one of my favorite dishes, and I've ordered it from many different Indian restaurants, so this stood out as unusual. I'm hoping this was just an off day, as I'd love for others to have a better experience than I did. On a positive note, the rice and garlic naan were both really good. read more

Nutmeg is new to the Spring Valley area, but isn't new to the valley, boy am I glad they are closer to my neck of the woods! We went for the lunch buffet during the week for my mom's birthday. They have a great special going on at the moment. Previously, Nutmeg didn't have the lunch buffet, but they've decided to try it out for now. Wow, y'all when I tell you the food is delicious, I'm not kidding. My favorite items on the line were the vindaloo (perfectly seasoned and yes with a good kick) and their samosas. Ya'll maybe I'm living under a rock but the tamarind sauce and those samosas are life. The restaurant itself is really cute and has lots of space. I would recommend this spot for a date night, family dinner/lunch, or even a great spot to catch up with friends. It's located in a fairly large plaza, so plenty of parking too. Check 'em and enjoy a fantastic meal. I know I'll be back for their dinner menu soon. read more

I'm not in the mood for a long review so we'll do highlights. 1. The food had zero spice and the lamb biryani level 6 is bland. 2. For one biryani, one dall, lamb saloon and one order of naan the total was $62 bucks. For how much lamb was in the biryani I was like bruh $20 for 4 tiny pieces? 3. The owner just walked back and forth coughing into the air. Front of house to the kitchen just coughing without covering his mouth. 4. The kicker I watched him use a rag to wipe the floor then put it up on the counter then use it to wipe down the counter. I would not go back. The fact that I still ate a few bites of the food just to see if it was decent before I tossed it out was allot. Yeah I reported the behavior to the health district. To clarify, I posted 2 pictures of a single box. And I'm sorry you dealt with someone demanding you to give them lamb, but that was not us. And my husband also did NOT go around telling customers at your restaurant your food is bad. Lastly, the other person who left a 1-star review is NOT my husband LOL. I strongly suggest you fact-check before you make untrue accusatory comments towards your customers. It seems like you've had more than one unhappy customer today. I hope you have a better day tomorrow. --- Highly disappointed in this Too Good to Go deal. It's supposedly leftovers from their buffet but my husband said there was a variety of dishes, and quite a lot of it, in the buffet area, but they just handed him a prepacked to-go box of some vegetarian curry and half a box of rice. You cannot tell me you think this is worth $8.99 lolol. The ratings on the app don't lie either, so we aren't the only ones who felt tricked. Also, he said the staff was quite rude. The description (pictured) in the app makes it seem like you can pick out what you want from their buffet. In fact, Mt Everest India's Cuisine on Too Good to Go gives you a box and you can pick out what you want. Maybe take a page from their book and offer the same, or lower your price, or change the description to be more accurate? This could have been a great opportunity to introduce potential customers to your dishes, but if all I can try is your rice, well, I can just make that at home. What's funnier is that we did in fact make rice prior to picking up our food to have with it. So now I'm hungry because all I have is 4 bites of curry and a mountain of rice :( read more

Doesn't appear to be open during the advertised business hours. I even bumped into an Uber eats driver that tried to pickup an order - obviously she couldn't grab the food. Place is empty, nothing setup for service, nobody in the kitchen preparing food. Business hours only show closed on Mondays (today us Wednesday). read more

After the closing of Kobe sushi and seeing Nutmeg take over, it's nice to see more Indian restaurants showing up around the valley. I love Indian food and seeing the other reviews helped me with my decision to dine here for lunch. 3 of us came for the lunch buffet on Wednesday afternoon at 12:45 pm. Unfortunately Nutmeg missed the mark big time, but it's very very fixable. Quality of food was excellent. I definitely agree with all the other reviews. Service was also excellent. But you absolutely can NOT charge $17 for a lunch buffet for 8 main items and a tiny salad bar. You are extremely over priced! Either use smaller pans and upgrade to 16 items or lower your price. At the moment you are at best a $6.99 - $9.99 buffet. Even if you double the items you'd still be pushing it at $12.99 for lunch. Even Chinese buffets with a HUGE selection (Buffet @ Asia, and Krazy Buffet) only charge $15.49 Mon-Sun for LUNCH. And both of those restaurants do tremendous business everyday for lunch and dinner. Your main menu also has many items over priced by at least $3-$4 minimum We were there for 1 hr and we were the ONLY table there, not one other person came there for dine in or take out. Quality, Service and Location are definitely NOT your issue. You're in a fantastic location. It's all about your price. Indian food, along with Chinese and Mexican Food often does not use any expensive ingredients. Look at China Go Go next door to you their highest priced item is seafood at $14 everything else is less than that. YOU'RE $19 $56 for 3 people for lunch for only a choice of 8 items is RIDICULOUS We definitely did not get our money's worth. I happened to notice this newly opened Nutmeg Indian Cuisine restaurant that's in the same shopping center as Smith's where I had just finished getting my groceries. I was looking at the menu posted on their outside window and decided to try a quick lunch takeout. I talked with a very nice Indian woman there who is the owner's wife, and she explained some of the foods they cook and that they're still settling into their new location. Interior has a casual, comfortable feel. They offer a takeout lunch special (one compartment type container) that's self serve from their small buffet station. Prices probably subject to change later on, but to-go lunch special is $10.99 (based on what I was verbally told by the owner) and dine in buffet is $16.99, excluding taxes. Quality over quantity and good value for really good Indian cuisine! The buffet's variety of curries were deliciously spiced with mild to no heat, which is what I prefer. The tandoori chicken pieces were moist and authentically flavorful, their noodles tasted better than Chinese chow mein, and the garlic naan was delightfully soft, chewy, and garlicky! Mini veggie samosas were just ok because there wasn't much filling. The owner is also honest because of how he corrected a mistake on my receipt. Lucky I was still in the area running other errands when I actually looked at my receipt and then had to drive back to the restaurant to ask about why I had been charged the dine-in price instead of the lunch special takeout price. The owner wasn't there at the time, but his employee helped me out and called him over the phone, and I was refunded the difference without any problems. 1st visit..went on Sunday...place is very clean. We were welcomed a d went to the buffet. The buffet is available every day for lunch. The buffet was small but had all my favorites. The Tandoori chicken was soft and tender, as was the butter chicken. The sag paneer was flavorful and not too spicy. We ordered the garlic Naan part of the buffet. The Naan was fresh and tasty. The service was very attentive. The only drawback was I could not sample everything...I was so full! I definitely return soon to sample the other dishes...fresh tasty and not overly spiced..a definite must try. read more

Been here twice since they opened and we live in the northwest side of town. Great service- The staff were welcoming and attentive. The tall gentleman always checks on us to make sure we have what we needed. We chose buffet, but ended up ordering to go items for dinner, because the food was delicious! The sauces had depth of flavors. The spices were not overwelmed by heat. They'll ask you for your preference. Desserts- Gulab jamun, Kheer and mango pudding- forgot the name. Try it! They get a lot of online orders for being recently opened. The owner told us. They used to be in the south side of town. Found this new Indian buffet place on Yelp and gave it a try. $17 for lunch buffet. Everything was tasty, spice level is mild, so perfect for us. Tandoori chicken was excellent, curry fish was good. Really enjoyed the Palak Paneer and braised cabbage. The Biryani was ok. When we asked if goat was on the buffet, the owner said no, but 15 minutes later he bought out a goat dish just for us at no extra charge. Definitely will return. We love Nutmeg- they have several restaurants around the city. We have been to all.of them & each one is unique. Our favorite is the Eatery but the Cuisine is nice too. Our favorite items are their Goan Lamb Curry & the Butter Chicken which is so rich & delicious. The garlic nasn & mango lassi are great too. Anab is very attentive and always majes great suggestions.
