Dubai strawberries with pistachio and crunchy phyllo
Cheryl M.

The place has so much to choose from, it's filled with candy, different kinds of nuts. It was recommended by another customer for me to get this, I was very skeptical since I don't like anything pistachio, it was very good.

I've been coming to this location ever since they opened. I love their candied cashews~ freshly made in store every morning. Crunchy, sweet and salty- so addicting! You can even ask for a sample at the store to try. All the staff are very friendly & helpful, and everything is fully stocked. They recently started having the viral Dubai chocolate bars that my daughter is obsessed with~ I bought 5 bars in the past 2 weeks. Surprisingly, they were really good~ better than the ones I got from Queens. I got the milk chocolate one (they have dark as well), it tasted fresh, creamy and crispy- just like how it should be. It definitely lives up to the hype. Besides nuts and chocolates, they also have dried fruits, candies, spices, gift boxes/ baskets, and I even saw some cakes behind the counter. You can get 20% off your purchase if you sign up for their loyalty program or 10% off~ tag them on Instagram. Check them out!

Dubai Chocolate (Dark Chocolate version)

Came here to try the viral Dubai Chocolate bar. Nuts Factory offers two versions: Milk and Dark Chocolate. You can locate them by the register in front to purchase them. I got the dark chocolate since I prefer it. I liked the crunchy interior texture of the Kataifi pastry mixed with the pistachio creme. It was a nice contrast to the dark chocolate. It costs $19.99, but well worth it. Nuts Factory also offers a lot of different fruits, halvah, nuts and gift sets. There are some samples left around the store, but there is also a sign that says you can ask an employee to samples some other items as well. If you haven't signed up for their loyalty program yet, they have an offer for 20% off your purchase when you sign up. So I got the Dubai chocolate for around $16.50. Definitely looking forward to coming back again.

Came here for the Dubai strawberry cup. It was good, however I don't think it was worth what it cost. It's almost $20 for the show of it being made & because people associate it with being "viral" I might give the bar a chance, but I wouldn't get the strawberry cup again.

Stopped in for the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup and it did not disappoint!!! Definetly worth the $20 . They have so many other options : candies, nuts, chocolates- I would absolutely return !

I've been seeing so many people rave about the viral Dubai chocolate, and I couldn't wait to try it for myself! Of course, I had to stop by and get their famous strawberries. This spot is located inside a mall, so just check the map to find it easily. The selection is pretty impressive, with a variety of candy and nuts available for purchase, but let's be real--I came for the strawberries. And they did NOT disappoint! You pick your giant cup of strawberries, and they give you the option of white, milk, or dark chocolate. Naturally, I went with dark chocolate because... well, it's the best. They start by layering the cup with pistachio cream mixed with crunchy kataifi (which adds a great texture, I think that's how it's spelled or called). Then, they pour over the chocolate, then pistachio cream and then more kataifi. Now, my only tiny complaint is that after the pistachio cream, they add another layer of chocolate, which I get, most people probably love that extra chocolatey punch. But I kind of wanted the pistachio flavor to stand out a bit more. Just a small thing, though--it didn't ruin the experience at all! Overall, it's definitely a little on the pricier side, but if you share it with someone, it's totally worth it. I can't wait to come back and try more!

I haven't been to this place until the Dubai chocolate craze hit and now I've been here several times. The Dubai chocolate bars are 10/10 and now they have the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries which may be even better. The woman helping was very nice, it was her first time making the strawberry cup and she did great, 10/10.

Although it isn't the original original, I purchased the viral Dubai Chocolate from here in the milk chocolate variety. As a self professed chocoholic that ALSO loves pistachio, this is probably what crack is like. I try to keep myself to a square each night as a treat and it is so difficult not to eat another. I have succumbed to my desires and will try anew tomorrow... joke's on me though, I made sure to buy 3 bars!

We were promptly seated and the wine and cocktail selection is good. The wine pours were a little meager but the wine pretty good. The pesto knots they serve for the free bread were great! My husband also loved how they offered us one more each for free without his asking to ask. We split the salmon and Black Sea bass. I loved the salmon sauce, how well the salmon was cooked, and the gnocchi it came with. The Black Sea bass wasn't as good in my opinion. The pesto sauce was bland and could do with being more flavorful like the free knots. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes were good. For dessert we split the apple crumble which was quite good. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance really nice. We enjoyed our date night a lot there and the we plan to go back and try their happy hour especially since we live nearby and drive by there all the time. Recommend!

We arrived in time for the pre-fixe meal and we all enjoyed what we had (salmon, pork chop and short ribs). Dessert options are plentiful and even the decafe cappuccino was delicious. Served in a tall glass with a cappuccino flavored sugar stick for an extra lovely touch. Definitely make a reservation. Ladies, if you chill easily when the air conditioning is on, bring a good sweater!

As luck would have it, I was in the area and decided casually to see if there were any good beer…read morespots. Universal wasn't too far, and Yelp informed me of the amazing craft beer selection. When I pulled up, I have to admit, I felt i must have been punked. The outside looks just like any liquor and beer store. And even the first few aisles are pretty standard. But head to the back, and you'll find an amazing array of local and just damn good craft beers. I wish more of the hoppy ones could be consistently cold, but that would be challenging given the supply. (Most of these breweries print a canned date on them, so be sure to check.) I've never seen so much Other Half besides at the brewery itself, and they even had a 4-pack of a semi-obscure brewery in the central Connecticut that I adore. Can't wait for another excuse to come by.

Seen one beverage store and you've seen em all...well, that can be mostly true, and thinking that…read moreI'm going to be contradictory to that opening statement is incorrect. Yes, Universal Beverage is no different from your run of the mill beverage stop...in most ways. You understand what I'm talking about if you've frequented spots like this. Ya know, any place with "beverage" in the name that has an ice freezer and plenty of sodas and waters and drinks and such. Though where the money truly lies is in the walls and walls of craft beers that these stores supply. Problem is, just like with Universal, some of these beers generate a shelf life much longer than they're intended to have (i.e. dust covered bottles). Therein lies the major turnoff of any place like this. BUT, I have to return to the first paragraph and say that Universal differs from many other spots for one huge reason: Other Half. Maybe this means very little to some avid beer drinkers (especially if IPAs aren't your thing) and perhaps there are a few craft beer aficionados that shun OH (for whatever reason), but for me (and many others), Other Half has consistently been a quintessential brewery in the NY suds scene as they continue to dole out glorious beers week after week. My issue comes from the fact that I could never consistently lay my hands on some cans of OH without trekking to the brewery...until now. You see, Universal carries a massive selection of Other Half beer. I was amazed to see how many cases lined the floor by one corner of this small beverage storefront. Though true amazement came once I learned that OH had just released cans the day before and lo and behold, Universal had them in stock the very next day. Better yet, prices are the same as if you got the cans straight from the brewery. No uptick in prices which is extremely hard to beat. This trio of facts alone earns several Yelp stars for Universal Beverage. I'll move away from Other Half factor for a moment and give Universal a little more credit for their beer selection. They do indeed get a pretty eclectic and hard to find variety of beers from local spots and other areas that can be difficult to come by. A small case in point would be my desire to track down the Warhead sour beers from Artisanal Brew Works. There they were, sitting on the shelf when I first walked into UB. Though not that exotic it was still a great first impression to say the least. I will throw one other caveat out there with this place. Unlike many beverage stores that are all for you mixing and matching single cans, Universal tends to gear themselves at keeping things in the 4-6 packs that they are purchased in. This isn't necessarily a problem (especially for those that just gotta have some Other Half or something else of rarity and want the four cans the way they come), but I can't help but shake the fact that a few cans didn't make it into my beer fridge because I only wanted one, and that just wasn't an option here. Just a good piece of info to know. Overall, Universal Beverage is really nothing spectacular to look at. It's almost hole-in-the-wall-esque from its size and pushed back location on Westbury Avenue. But it's the treasures of knowing just what you can find there (specifically, but not limited to, Other Half) which puts this place on the map. I'll most certainly be back as I continue to follow them on Instagram as I wait for the posts of new cans they get in stock. Follow them too (the owner will be happy to know you're checking them out online) and perhaps you'll see a post that makes you venture to Universal Beverage for something rare...or just Other Half. Either way you'll be glad you went.

While I was there I did some comparison with stop and shop on the app. I did see that ALDI had lower prices on many items. The part I didn't like was the scam for the turkey. So the person that has a very nasty attitude rolled her eyes when the question was asked, why wasn't the turkey included. I've been lucky for the most part with helpful and kind workers. The location it's in is killer. There's plenty of parking, but being around Old Country Road and Glen Cove Road is always a nightmare. And does anyone besides me ever have a problem getting a cart? I put my quarter in, and can never release my cart. Luckily there's always a kind customer to help or I track someone down who's about to return their cart, then give them my quarter. I'd say go just to look at the place even if there's nothing you want to buy. Guaranteed you'll come out with a few shopping bags full of stuff. Bring your own bags and enjoy.

5/5 - Venchi at Roosevelt Field Is a Sweet Slice of Italy You Shouldn't Miss…read more If you're walking through Roosevelt Field Mall and looking for something special--skip the usual food court treats and make your way to Venchi. My wife and I stopped by on a whim, and honestly, it turned into the highlight of our day. This place is more than just a gelato shop--it's a full-on experience for anyone who loves quality chocolate, real Italian gelato, and beautiful presentation. From the moment you walk up to the counter, you're greeted by that incredible aroma of cocoa and roasted hazelnuts. The store is sleek and elegant with golden details and walls stacked high with colorful boxes of chocolate. It immediately sets the tone: this is not your average dessert stop. We both went straight for the gelato, and wow--it was on another level. I ordered the hazelnut (nocciolato) and Cremino, and my wife had pistachio with dark chocolate sorbet. The flavors were unbelievably rich and creamy, made with real, high-quality ingredients you can actually taste. The hazelnut was smooth and nutty with that authentic Italian flavor, while the Cremino had a velvety chocolate-hazelnut swirl that melted in your mouth. The pistachio had just the right balance of sweet and salty, and the dark chocolate sorbet was deep, bold, and not overly sugary--perfect for chocolate lovers. One of the best touches? You get a piece of Venchi's signature chocolate on top of your cone or cup, which feels like a small luxury. We also picked up a small box of their chocolate truffles to go--and we've been slowly savoring them at home. Every bite is rich, indulgent, and tastes like something you'd find in a boutique in Rome or Milan. The staff was friendly, patient, and happy to offer samples (which helped a lot since the flavor list is full of tempting choices). You can tell they actually enjoy working there and take pride in the quality of what they're serving. Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average ice cream shop--but it's totally worth it. You're getting authentic Italian gelato and handcrafted chocolate that's miles ahead of anything else in the mall. If you're shopping at Roosevelt Field and want a sweet break that feels a little elevated, Venchi is a must. It's perfect for date day, a treat with the kids, or even a little solo indulgence. We'll definitely be back--and next time, we're trying the chocolate fountain!

As we're browsing, instead of an employee greeting the customers he would just keep saying "you have to come to this side of the store to order gelato" I did notice a couple of people walk out after that. I was interested in their coffee menu, which had names & illustrations making them look more like dessert coffees - but no description. As I'm standing on the side for gelato orders, I'm once again told where to stand for gelato orders before another employee turns around, sees me and it seemed like was was trying to avoid me. I asked about the coffee drinks and was given just basic descriptions like he couldn't be bothered and was trying to get it over with. Which was unfortunate because that's when I decided to say "thank you have a nice day" and walked out. Their coffee menu was pretty decently priced too. Perhaps I would have ordered a drink along with gelato had the staff been more professional.
