So, i had a very odd experience. This tall,long curly hair worker was letting me use sample cups and he was really nice at first so i was saying thank you for everything. I then used the same sample cup to put ice cream in there, and then he yelled at me to not do that and called me "disgusting" this was very rude. My perspective is anyone else would do that, its like reusing a soda drink at fastfood, if not better. The sample cup wasn't even touching the machine and he was acting like i was the nastiest person on earth. This is my first time writing a negative review because i never encountered such an unnecessary interaction. I feel like he couldve told me "dont reuse cups i will give you a new one" especially because i was actually trying to give him a less hard of a time by reusing the same one. Besides that, every worker was really nice to me, and i loved the yogurt. I recommend this place, but this guy made me feel embarrassed, and stupid. Honestly, thats my perspective why i thought it was okay, but i completely understand if it is unhygenic, i worked jobs that handle food, and im all for hygiene. I just thought the fact that he had to be really mean to me and embarrass me in front of friends made me feel awful, and im not even a sensitive person like that. In the low 50s, cloudy skies, perfect weather for frozen yogurt. I was in the shopping center, so I decided to stop in. The place is bright and clean, and the lady was very friendly. They have a large selection of frozen yogurt, gelato, and non-dairy desserts. You can sample The different flavors before you decide. I decided to try 2. I tried the tiramisu, and then I tried the pretzel salted caramel, and that's the one that I chose. It was creamy, I could actually taste the pretzel and the salted caramel. You choose your yogurt, and then you can choose your dry or your wet mix ins. I had some ground up cookies, some chocolates, and a little bit of coconut. It has great price for a frozen yogurt. The flavors selection were ok. Some were tasty, but few were kinda amiss. When we wanted to sample the flavor, we had to ask the cashier and one of the workers would get it for us in a small tasting cup. Our favorite are peanut butter, cheesecake, and lemon ice. The topping selections were plenty! Each container was always full (some were too full and was hard to scoop out) and was always clean. There were some indoor seatings and few tables outdoor. I like having autonomy in serving myself the specific amount and flavors I'd like. The workers seem quite unhappy, but the service is fine. Let me start with the young man who wanted to get the sample for me, I get it keeps people from reusing the sample cups but he should be wearing gloves. I declined any samples. It seems that the machine were not all working and to be honest they were dirty. Big turn off. Then when we went up to pay; there was a pair of scissors, pen, paper and someone's purse all lying on the back counter. These things should be out of sight of customers. I'm a 12-yr patron of this NuYo location and putting in a 3-star review with the hope that the recent decline in service and offering will be corrected. Things that are still working well are - quality of the yogurts, taste, topping variety, and cleanliness. Of late, however, a few recurring problems are becoming quite bothersome. 1. Yogurt variety - All 12 flavors are rarely available, with some dispensers having no yogurt, and of those that are available, some are just variations of the same flavor like Vanilla low-fat and Vanilla sorbet. 2. Promptness in refilling flavors is lacking. Earlier the staff would come out and inform us and ask us to wait and within minutes fill it up. Now we keep tilting at the lever but no one seems to bother. (Happened with the fruit mix - pineapple/mango flavor yesterday evening) 3. Equipment malfunction - Yogurt does not dispense despite it being there. Again, something that needs prompt staff attention. (Happened with the Flan flavor yesterday evening) 4. Service - In 12 yrs, yesterday was the first time, the checkout staff made me put a lid on each takeout container for my group and handed me the brown paper bags for me to bag them by myself!! I have always seen the staff put lids and bag the takeout containers. Also, I observed that all other takeout customers were having to do the same - bagging their own takeouts. Are you not paying them enough? I'm not saying this as a snobbish customer. There is just not enough counter space on the customer's side, with the weighing scale and the POS machine, for the customer to put lids and bag containers while paying for the purchase. I still did it yesterday and it was very very inconvenient. 5. Hot fudge is gone!! Are you saving on electricity costs? We are noticing it if you are trying to eke out more profits by keeping costs down. 6. I recognize that the majority of staff is a churn of young adult workers but you need a manager who knows the basic expectation of service and can train and monitor the staff to deliver the same. Here's hoping that all of these are addressed and this place goes back to the 5-star offering that I have always admired. read more

Came here yesterday with my mom and kids. The staff was helpful and very friendly. My daughter was given a sample of the yogurt flavor she wanted before we put it in the dish to make sure she liked it. That was very helpful! The toppings were neat and organized, and there was a large selection. They only had two size, but I just used the smaller size and didn't fill it up much for my kids. Since I was craving me some froyo after the movies, I had to try this place out. In the same parking lot as BJ's, Nuyo is next to the Blockbuster. They feature 12 flavors at .38 an ounce. They also have shave ice, so you can mix & match the two. Tonight's flavs were: - Mango - non-dairy - Pineapple - non-dairy - Strawberry - sugar free - Cake batter (premium) - means 'low fat' instead of 'non fat' - Mint - Cookies & cream - Chocolate - Vanilla - Blueberry - Pomegranate - Tart - Peanut butter (premium) Nuyo has three flat screen TVs with videos on so you can catch up on the latest hits. If you're old like me, who don't know who any of these people are -- but I did recognize Miley Cyrus! Decor is modern, which a long padded bench along one wall, some tables and chairs on the other side. They could use more seating though, it was packed. The arrangement is such that the toppings area is right next to the register, so people line up for their toppings while in line to pay. I don't know if this set up makes sense because it took ages to get toppings AND pay. Someone gets the samples for you. I think it discourages less freebie sampling and less mess, although there was still a lot of yogurt mistakes there. One drawback, they need to label the toppings. I saw some jelly-looking things and cubed jelly things, but had no idea what they were. I am the adventurous type so I tried them all. One was lychee jelly, the other was a cantaloupe jelly. There is mochi, azuki beans and rambutans too! According to the girl behind the counter, cake batter and blueberry are the two favorite flavors. Awesome FroYo! I have taken my picky 4 yo there a few times. To be honest it's usually a waste to buy her much... she had 1 bite at pink berry and said yuck. She said the strawberry there was to sour. She scarfed the chocolate down like a fiend! I even gave her a few bits of my tart pomegranate and she loves that too. So far she has tried 5 different flavors... loved the Peanut butter, white chocolate, vanilla, pomegranate, and had a few bites of my wife's coffee. She's loved them all. Best frozen yogurt place in Folsom. Located in a quiet corner of Broadstone Marketplace, it is a great place to hangout with family. Customer service was also great, the cashier who was a young lady was quite friendly. We tried various flavors like Chocolate, Pistachio, pomegranate and Tiramisu along with a multitude of toppings. Your employee had to go in the back to ask what the price was. We had a 4 year old with us who had almonds nothing and my wife barely gets much more.. 27 ounces is almost 2 pounds. That's IMPOSSIBLE. With the resurgence of frozen yogurt, each shop or brand seeks to differentiate from the others. In the case of Nuyo, committed to being environmentally responsible and employing eco-friendly practices, in addition to providing tasty froyo, is important. I stopped into this location of Nuyo not because of their commitment to the environment but because it was there .. when I wanted froyo. It was a matter of convenience. About eight different options were available of traditional froyo to more dietary conscious options that, apparently, flavor rotate. A fair number of toppings, if you're into toppings, including fresh cut fruit (which actually looked very fresh). While I promote healthy eating, I also promote eating fun with moderation. I love banana. Today, non-fat banana was on tap. A responsible squirt of banana in the cup, some chopped almonds, and, because they were there, a few ("few") mini peanut butter cups. Let's review: banana, chocolate, peanut butter, and almonds.... not so non-fat anymore. The banana flavor (whether real banana or not) was perfect. The froyo was creamy and melted quickly (probably due to the no fat thing, maybe) - glad I moderated my portion. My Froyo Commentary: Frozen yogurt was the "in" thing a couple decades ago with lots of Mom n Pop shops around. Some kind a consumer/market plague (not able to meet consumer wants) knocked most of them out of business. "He who rejects change is the architect of decay." A recent resurgence of frozen yogurt, through independents and chains, is apparent. Many more dietary alternatives (fat free, sugar free, dairy free, ices, and whips) that weren't the norm before. "Progress is impossible without change." Honestly, I'm not really hip on all the froyo options but do find it interesting how each differentiates in this (again) growing industry. read more
